The phone skins look like the TMobile version .. Was this leaked from one of the new TMobile Athenas?
There doesn't appear to be any differences between this an WM6, with the exception of a 'Getting Started' tool on the Today Screen.
Will post screenshots when I get home from work. (About 6hrs from time of posting)

Strange. Does MS reset point revisions and build numbers inbetween minor version increments? Because these are the numbers from the Athena kitchen:
CE Ver: 5.2.1933
Build: 18533
looks like xip wasn't ported. this looks like a port to the athena. i would wait for us to release most likely a genuine athena build.
Screenies attached. The ROM looks like iit is a port from another device .. there's no extrom or anything. it seems a little slow as well.
I was secretly hoping for some sort of app similar to the carousel we've seen on the blackjack, but there's really nothing different at all, apart from:
PIE has a zooming feature, but Opera is still the way to go.
The only decent thing I've found is the threaded SMS/MMS .. works really nicely, but I'll be going back to AP3 in a minute lol
If you guys can cook the threaded sms into your next rom .. I'll quite happily have your e-babies.

The carrousel home screen plug-in only will be available on Smartphones Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard, for professional devices, the changes will be Reduced

looks to be a port from the hermes or universal or other (t-mobile) without everything for the athena. Would be nice if it was a complete build.

Thanks for your great effort. The download link seems to be broken, so I can't try it yet. May be you're trying to update it to include the 192 dpi file and xip. Any case, I look forward to having the fixed version in a day or two.

the xip is not missing. when the rom was ported only the imgfs was ported so the xip from i believe 18125 was left over. u would need to port the xip now. im hopping to get a athena build of wm6.1.1 soon. im looking into getting something newer than the 19716 kaiser build that is floating around.
the build will have full features of the new wm6.1.1 and latest opera. it will prob eather be a cooked htc or tmo athena build. if not ill eather get a uni build to port or as a last resort do a port of the 19716 floating around. just be patient. i need to get the build then eather port or cook and properly test. but it shouldnt be too long. for now enjoy this build and my latest rom.
Yes you are right pawel, i just used the XIP of T mob rom, cos my aim was just to get the ROM working and boting first.Since it booted, i never did anymore experiments.You are an expert and can do much better

That said, it's still a great find. While 6.1 isnt everything I was hoping for, the threaded SMS app will be a great welcome Thanks, hdubli!

I am currently using Prophet Shadow 1.0 (Vista Aero FINAL EDITION) from Varanusvincent without any problems - This is a professional rom!!!
Thanks to Cloudyfa and Varanusvincent - Great work and exactly the tools selected which are required.
Of course I would like to use the new things in 6.1 but following the threads it looks like 6.1 is not yet on a status what is recommendable for professional usage. Am I right? E.G. it looks like bluetooth and commanager are not working correctly!

Personally I''m not sure any Windows Mobile ROM is fit for Professional use . I had issues with my official 5 QTek ROM .
That said the fantastic results that the cookers here have achieved are testament to their efforts and the testing of this community .
I personally use a 6.0 image on a phone I use for my corporate business.
This is not because it is professionally suitable, it because I like it, it works for me and its really good way of prolonging the life of my now 2 year old Prophet.
No ROM you get here is going to come with a warranty but then again they are free, produced with very little resources and are made for the love of it and for our benefit.
They have their issues yes, but hopefully these are being sorted out, but if you are after something professionally stable, I'm not sure that even exists but if you want some sort of guarantee I would personally say you need to buy a new device with Mobile 6 already installed. That way you can get official upgrades or a refund if it doesn't work.
If things work or you, use them, if not there are a number of different ROMs from these fantastic cooks to try.

Why don't you try every possible WM6.1 then you decide what do you think is the best for your taste. everyone has it's own preference on how their unit would work.
can you gimme suggestion among those atom wm6.1 rom or wm 6 is ok, coz i just want the stable,speed and battery improvement...sorry cos i dont have time to try one by one..tks again

As of now i can't recommend any WM6.1 since it's not yet stable. If you want a stable/clean/batt improvement WM6 I'll personally recommend AKU 0.72 check my signature to jump directly to thread. There are other WM6 availalbe from garmin and the others with gud features like touch flo.

There is no such thing as a perfect ROM/OS. even the maker MS give's us full of bugs OS. it's for the user to try and check if a certain ROM is good enough for him.
A ROM maybe perfect for me, but not for others. Just my two cents
Sometimes compatibility is an issue: for example, the 0.7.2 says it doesn't support CE-Star, which is fairly important for me at the moment - so having a read of what a ROM supports would be useful.

have used most of the roms available. found homer285 WM6 7.2 very stable but like the features and look of the WM 6.1 by SonBlack which is PDAVIET ROM WM6.1 For ATOM/ATOM PURE with HTC HOME plugin ... at this stage unlikely to change as it suit my needs... hope you find something that suits yours

that is right, many people will flash their unit to a particular ROM for specific use. Just like your case you needed CE-Star for you to use with your atom, ofcourse you will only go for a ROM that support it right?
For me, I just like a simple and clean ROM. i'll just take care of the customization to suit it more to my preference.
@TS hope you'll read more to the available ROM's for your unit so you would know which one is good for you or not.
I think PDAVIET WM6.1 by medkid is the best considering the speed, RAM usage, look and compatibility.
Its a very clean ROM with least customization. I like it...

Yeah I've actually gone from Garmin's Kumara 6.1 (his last release) to PDAViet by Sonblack, I'm flexible and looking to change to what suits me best

Dude i just try it last night, after install few things..somehow i can't turn off the wifi..is good rom actually very clean too..just the wifi is bugging me (or is it just me)..
im gonna try PDAViet by Sonblack and see what i got (arrrgh...yet another flashing)
im just looking clean rom,stable(GPRS,Wifi,Battery,Java)
i use my phone just to make call,sms,browsing(gprs,wifi),bluetooth to send file and sync,listen MP3,watch video..just like that, very standart. I reall dont need touchflo,htc software or anything, just love the clean rom

With that lot, I'd suggest Korand 3.1 with the HTC Home installed as a cab. Or may "Merged Reversal" which seems to have fewer bugs...

That's because we cannot know what you will think of a ROM. The best way to find out is to flash it and see what you like/dislike.

I haven't found any yet! Which is why I said it seems to have fewer... Anyway, keep up the great ROMs!
I would recommend k0rand 3.1 as well. If you don't want scrolling then chriskay's reversed rom might be a good choice as well.
you may try pdviet transformer 1.0 by cloudyfa... I'm really enjoying that rom!

for me its probably Gullum's rom...
the main thing that i love about his rom is its stable, faster than any other new rom ive tried, responsive keyboard(especially Happy Taping Keyboard), good battery life ....thats it..for me i use it for sms and call, and also web browsing
and i hope to seeing Gullum's 6.1 rom...hehe..for now im using Touch Evolution and is running not too bad for a 6.1
For me I like every ROM that released from every developers. But sometimes some ROM not serve for all my need. So, right now, I still try many times for every ROM.
I will try every new realised ROM, a lot of funs from them
everytime I go back to Korand 2.6.
For me it's the fastest and best at conserving battery.

The stability is partly based on NOT including unnecessary softwares.
This is a pretty good educated guess to why many programs are not working on 4.0 The issue is many other devices have wm6.1 roms ported to them so the oem drivers from 6.0 stayed so apps like skype etc... work.
The AP4.0 rom is fully a 6.1 rom from the ground up. it comes from a build 19202 Athena X7510 rom so drivers and everything is 6.1 and updated. I believe once skype and the other developers make their apps 6.1 compatible we will all be good.
This has been sort of proved as other devices and roms have the same program compatibility issues. Now don't kill me if im wrong but there is strong evidence to suggest this.
5.0 Beta 1 is not too far away. will be a new os version and all bugs except for realvga and program compatibility related ones will be fixed hopefully. If anyone wants to play with 5.0 a few days before find me on irc and make sure you have the new spl.

I removed it and seem less hanging and TouchFLO working perfect.
Lovely Opera, playing the zoom more than surfing, now my preferred choice.
