mail2web and exchage server problems - Advantage X7500, MDA Ameo ROM Development

ok i signed up for mail2web and at first it seems to work very well. for the first five mins after when i click sync on active sync any mail that is sent to my mail2web.com account gets pushed to my device. but after about 5 mins or so i tested again and i got nothing, first i checked to see if i accidntly shutt down activesync, it was so i turned it on again. later i checked if the activesync was on and it was, so i tested and still no email pushed to my device. i then clicked sync and all my emails came to my device then again for the next five mins or so i am able to get my emails but after that it just stops. im using pk 3.0 currently . can anyone help please.
i dont want to have to set my device to sync every 5 mins because that defeats the purpose of push email.

Did you setup your account correctly on your device? Server name, User name and password.
It must be the case that you don't have to click on anything to sync, that's why it's called push mail.

yeah i did, one of the problems is active sync doesnt stay connect . it stays connected for like 10 mins after that it just shows last synced time. if i didnt set up the server properly then the device wouldnt get any mail at all, but it does. when i sync with active sync it pushes mail for like 5 mins, after that it says connected but no mail is getting pushed through, then after 10 mins it disconnects all together.

when you have push mail you should not have to set a time interval, it should get pushed, in real time, to your device. i use mail2web with gmail and it works great

ActiveSync/Exchange Sending multiple copies of email

Hi,
After an upgrade (No2Chem 3.49 Radio 3.42.40) everything works really great!!! Except, I am having an issue with ActiveSync.
Intermittently, (sometimes every 3 seconds, sometimes every 10 minutes), a blank window covers the whole screen with a title of "ActiveSync" and an "ok" in the upper right corner. If I click ok, the ActiveSync main window appears. I believe everytime this happens, it is resending all of the email in my outbox and the message never gets removed from the outbox even though it is delivered to the recipient.
ActiveSync works fine with PC via USB and for all features besides the email. Also, SMS and Gmail correctly clear the inbox and send only the single email (this is what makes me think it is the ActiveSync).
TIA,
Brian.
I have seen that with the MR1 ROM while ActiveSync is doing its first sync with a large mailbox. (I've got a couple thousand messages from the past month that sync via Exchange.)
I've noticed intermittantly unreliable behavior of the Exchange mail client while it's still cranking away at the initial sync (failing to set message read flags server-side, to be specific).
Regardless, though, things worked fine for me after ActiveSync finished the big initial sync run.
Thanks Skywing,
That doesn't appear to be the case. I only have ~20 emails trying to sync. I did try re-flashing as well as reinstalling AS to no avail.
FYI to all --
I did just come across this thread on MS Mobile support forums...

It appears that this is an issue with Exchange 2007 and WM6.1. It looks like there is a hotfix that needs to be installed on the server side (which I don't have control over). There is a chance this isn't the issue, but it certainly sounds like all of the same symptoms. Unfortunately, there is no apparent client-side fix.

ActiveSync - possible solution for some problems

After numerous upgrades and ROM restorations, ActiveSync effectively stopped working:
When I hooked up my 7500 to the USB, ActiveSync would start syncing but "never" actually finish. ActiveSync would say "Synchronizing" but not show any progress. Finally I let the program run ... and run ... and run. After 10 hours of running, I finally got an error message telling me that 13 appointments could not be synced.
I was able to track down each of the appointments and each appointment was defective. I corrected each appointment and tried ActiveSync again.
It took 3 cycles of 10 hour running time to finally purge or correct all my defective appointments, but now ActiveSync runs quickly and without problem.
Hopefully this will help in some instances.

Exchange mobile sync working... Except Calendar???

I got my phone to repairs because of a broken touchscreen.. Nicely done by HTC, they came to pick it up and returned a new unit a week later. Very good service...
However, now there's something strange going on.. I've reconfigured the Exchange mobile sync part with OWA server and all. Now everything (Mail and Contacts) is synchronizing nicely, except my Calendar??
When Calendar is being synced, you can see it tries 3 times and then a "cannot connect to server" error.. This seems odd, because for contacts and mail it connects perfectly to the exact same server...
I tried to configure it on 2 firmware versions, the original and the rooted Modaco rom, no change.
Is there some logging going on where I maybe can pinpoint the problem??
Out of the blue it works again

[Q] Wifi problem

Hey guys,
I wonder if any of you has the same issue as me.. Basically, when phone is connected via WiFi it barely syncs Gmail/Facebook twice a day, I can go for hours without seeing a new email notification on the phone.. When it's on Data/3G it syncs properly and I'm getting a notification as soon as the email comes in.. I've checked everything on the phone, and I can't seem to find anything which would explain this behavior.. Currently I had to set Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep to never in order to have sync working properly when I'm at home..
Btw. stock ROM, haven't touched anything since I've purchased it.
Any ideas?

Do you notice any other internet connection irregularities when on wifi? e.g. after a deep sleep if you try the browser it fails to load the page straight away and takes a refresh?
No, after I wake up the phone when it's on wifi during sleep - internet works fine.. Ie. I can load websites in the browser, open up Google Play, lookup Imdb from the application etc. Everything is working fine apart from the phone syncing my mails and everything else while it's on Wifi/Sleeping. Checking the last time it synced in Settings >> Accounts and sync also shows that it synced last time hours ago (it didn't even try to sync while it's on wifi).
Can someone please test this if it happens on other phones as well?

[Q][5.0][Remics FireEel JB Rom]Email Syncing

Guys I'm using RemicsFireEel JB rom 4.2.2 from Remics and I have a weird problem with the email app. fortunately earlier this evening it was working and atleast 15 emails went in from different accounts after i opened it, strangely i haven't been receiving notifications this weekend but it was probably because of the push settings. As I cycle around the accounts in the email app it suddenly went to say "Waiting for sync" for atleast 5 ~ 15 minutes and I couldn't access the other accounts as well, I tried rebooting, force stopping and even disabling and re enabling the app but still no good... any suggestions?
