flashing from sd card - Mogul, XV6800 ROM Development

why cant i flash from my sd card please help

More info please, what did you exactly do and what happened? I'm going to take a shot in the dark and say your sd card isnt "FAT32" formatted. The formatting on the card just says FAT in system properties. Put it in a computer and go to format, in the file system, you can choose FAT32. Then copy the rom and rename it TITAIMG and get into the bootloader with the card in and it should work!
I find that this is the easiest way to upgrade, via sd card, but I've only done it once. Any downside to this method?

I am assuming you can't put the unlocker on through the sd card, is that correct?

SD FAT Update Failed

I tried flashing my 3125 to the latest official ROM via the nbh from RUU_STAR100_4.1.502.5_02.79.30_CWS_SHIP.exe in bootloader mode.
It gets as far as the "Update SD image?" screen, I press the button to start the update process, and I receive an "SD FAT Update failed !!!" error.
What am I doing wrong? Have I bricked my phone?
Any help would be MUCH appreciated...
Sounds like your SD card is not formatted with FAT32. Verify that it is, or just reformat it and make sure the file is correctly named, resides in the root directory and is the only thing on the card. Reply back on what you find.

I reformatted the card to Fat32, downloaded the RUU again, and extracted the nbh file it to the root directory of my microsd card, as STARIMG.nbh, and still got the same SD FAT update failed error.
(I did not use a volume label, and double checked that my card was in fact formatted in Fat32, which it was)

Is your microSD card from Sandisk? My girlfriend was experienced the same problem (well, I was messing with her cellphone, don't tell her LOL), untill I tried my Kingston card. No idea what is the difference, both cards were with NO errors at all...
Try using few different microSD cards. And format them with the Panasonic SDFormatter only.
Thanks for the suggestion, but I'm almost certain it's a problem with my phone, and not the microsd card.
I tried using the same card to flash a different 3125, and was able to do so without incident - so, I've pretty much concluded that my other phone is shot.
(Oh, and for the record, it's not a sandisk card, it's an AData one)

Take the radio rar file and unzip it. You will get a file named TITAIMG.NBH in the folder it creates.
You need a 2g or less sd card.
Place sd card in pc and format it to fat32.
Take the TITAIMG.NBH file and copy it on the sd card and rename it so that the .nbh is not capitalized.(straight on the root of card not inside any folders)
Place the sd card in phone and enter bootloader mode.(power, camera, reset)and a grey screen will come up and tell you to push power button to continue.
On the grey screen you will get update done. Just reset the phone.
Remember to take the titaimg.nbh file off of sd card when done.
Now with that being said if you ever want to flash a rom with sd just take the RUU_signed.nbh file that is used with rom update utility and place it on sd card and rename it to titaimg.nbh and enter bootloader(power, camera, reset) and it will work the same as the way you flashed the radio.
Hope this helps you.

[SOLVED] Bootloader will not recognize PH98IMG.zip

1st mistake was did not include this file AdbWinApi.dll durring the HTC Dev unlocking process. I went through the instuctions again and still no root.
2nd mistake was that I had HTC Sync running during the unlock process. After I corrected mistake 1 and corrected mistake 2 I have root. The problem I have now is that bootloader will not recognize a PH98IMG.zip file on the SD card when I tried to flash a recovery. I flashed recovery using Clean Flash but I would like to have my bootloader still recognize the PH98IMG.zip file.
Also Recovery will not recognize ROM zip. Going to reformat SD card and then see if it will recognize it then....
[Solved] Reformatted SD Card and booted back up solved my problems.
Make sure it is on your external sd card as opposed to the internal.

[Q] Possible Phone Brick/Phone Not Working

Earlier today, I realized that my phone doesn't recognize my SD card. I tried taking it out and putting it back in with no luck. Then I decided to re-flash the rom with ClockworkMod Recovery but it requires the sd card to flash which mine does not work. I also tried downloading twrp2.0 but again, the bootloader won't recognize it because it's not on the SD card. Lastly, I factory reset the phone hoping it would format the sd card, but now every time I unlock the phone, there is just a black screen. Any suggestions?
How did you factory format it?
From when the phone is turned on, or on recovery?
What you should do is get the memory card and stick it on your computer. It might be corrupted or something alike.
Once on your computer, format it to fat/fat32.
On windows:
Go on my computer, wait for memory device to be detected, and right click it.. then format.
On Mac:
Open: "Disk Utility" by either going to "utilities" on applications folder, or by searching for it on the spotlight search bar.
Then click umm.. im not on my mac now, google it.
After you do all that, put the ROM and the Recovery.
Then flash away.
Hope this helps.

Well, the phone says it can't mount the SD Card, even when I placed a different one in so I think it's an issue with the phone or rom.

take out the external sd card and do a nandroid on the internal sd card...then restart the phone and save you're nandroid somwhere safe...This is not going to solve your SD issue, but you'll atleast have a backup copy of your system if you ever have to get a new one... also if you have an micro sd to sd adaptor, try to stick the sd card in your computer (assuming you have an SD reader) and try to format it that way fat32 i believe.

I did the Nandroid Backup and I do have a USB with a port to insert a Micro SD Card, but it doesn't show that I plugged anything in. It may be a problem with the SD Card, but I also have another 8 Gig one that it won't mount or recognize.
when u go to settings-storage...what do you see? do you see mount/unmount sd card? or u cant even go to settings?
Stop replying and start listening.
You need to RE-format your SD card to FAT32.

Would it be possible to flash twrp through the bootloader or through fastboot without the SD, or can I flash a rom directly from clockwork recovery without an SD Card?

You can flash a recovery without an sdcard.
With the device in bootloader mode:
fastboot flash recovery c:\recoverydirectory\recoveryname.img

Will depend on your rooting method, but usually doesn't require that you do anything to your SD card. Flashing OEM firmware or unlocking your bootloader can sometimes erase your SD card, so just make a back up and be a little bit careful until you get used to thinks.

If you're only rooting It shouldn't remove anything from your SD. Do a backup just in case though

So in other words, flashing will just format the SD card? If thats the case then thats good.
I say this because I've had an SD card in my galaxy S3 for 2 years. And I havent fornatted it yet. I've noticed some songs and a few videos freeze up. It may be that it needs to be formatted as a result. I guess rooting itself will format the whole SD card. Is this right?
