whats the best way to get ringtones that sound good. im using and mp3 for ringtone and wav for sms, but they both dont sound so great, how can i get one that sounds better like the ones the phone comes with, like edit them to make them louder/smaller size etc...?
use mp3/wav of a decent bitrate, ive found sometimes converting it to mono helps, you can use a program called mp3gain to increse volume, but at some loss to quality
it's not a ringtone thing i'd say more of a speaker thing
the speaker in the pda is not stereo
so one can act get much much smaller ringtones by
making them mono and and change their samplerate to 11Khz
and 8bit they would sounds the same but take up much less room

you can install the Cyanogen DSP Manager / Equalizer from this link. tested and working on rooted GB roms for me. http://www.mediafire.com/?6f2q2ec3h76bo1n

Volume + Does a better job IMO...
Haven't tried it for the headset, however for the speaker I found Volume + to be clearer and louder.
As far as headsets, haven't given it a try but Volume + works amazingly well with my Desire HD!
Any1 else have any input on DSP vs Volume +?
Yeah I have some input. Volume + is a totally different kind of app that has nothing to do with bass, treble or graphic equalizer. Volume + sets your ring tones, notification tones, etc. DSP manager is for making your music or video sound better, not making ringtones louder..

Thanks, I need to play with it some, but it's nice to have some control over the sound.

Went back and compared both once again (this time with a headset!).
What I noticed:
As you stated above, Volume + makes everything LOUD. In my ears that's a good thing, and why I choose to apply it to my loud speakers.
As for headsets... Volume+ is less customizable in terms of eq, however it still has a very commendable range of modifiers. I went with Volume+ in the end simply because it was simply louder whilst still maintaining clarity at lower volumes.
As for Bluetooth devices... don't use so couldn't tell.
At the end of the day... Listening to audio on the Flyer isn't so great... Lots of Hiss and distortion. Voodoo is MUCH better, unfortunately its only available on the SGS.
So... I will not be using the Flyer for listening to music unless absolutely required!
not to bad if you have a decent headphones
I use my flyer everyday to listen to music and podcast and its not that bad. A set of great headphones makes a huge difference. Got me an ATH-M50 using spotify and the audio is not bad. No lossless mind you but no hiss or cracks you speak of. Been wanting to make play with the equalizer but spotify doesn't give you much options. I think this is a great app for people who wants more control of the sound not just loud. However was thinking about getting a headphone amp for that. Fiio E11.
Running Jellybro 20120814 (maguro) and tried it with Spotify.
It did not work.
Still looking for an equalizer that affects the output not the internal Android API channels or what ever...
Any Idea someone?

No idea what you are trying to achieve based on your text. Did you try DSP manager?
Hey mates.
I wanted to ask you some questions:
1 - Is there any way to make the sound off XMP10 better and more clear?
Example: when playing songs in any music player, i note that the instruments are loud and "almost" clear but...The vocals don't hear that much, the instruments are louder than the vocals making the vocals not very clear to hear. I'm using Gingersony v06, and to hear music i use the original Sony Erickson Earphones, before those earphones i was using MX170 by sennheiser and the results were almost the same about the Quality/Clear Sound.
2 - Is GB sound worse ( in quality and in being with clear vocals ) than the original Eclair?
If someone has already tested both quality sounds, please tell me if it's better to go back to the original Eclair to have better quality sound and to have More Clear Vocals in playing songs, or if it's just the same thing and then i stay with GB.
Thank you for your time , all good answers will be rewarded with a press in the Thanks Button
Maybe try equalizer/DSP manager?
That's should help i think

What option should i enable to make the vocals more clear without losing the instruments EQ?, because a change in EQ will affect 'all' the the sound itself when the idea is just to make things more clear but the sound must stay the same way, not more bass not more meds and not more highs, just staying the same but more clear. I use Mixzing to hear music and it also has an EQ, but no matter what settings of EQ i add, the vocals will always be not clear :S .
Thanks for answer

Increase the right side of eq bars (a little)
or use pre existing options

yes i know, but the problem is always the same: Vocals not clear :S. If i change the EQ the sound will become weird because three things happen: If i add more bass the sound will become deep and the volume will have to be much lower / adding more med frequencies will make sound more rocky but in a weird way / adding more highs will make the sound not good to be heard although the volume can be more Up.
So what i generally do is a balance of them: less bass, normal meds, little up on the highs. But it doesn't sound that good :S
This doesn't have anything to do with volume of frequencies but yes with the 'quality' of them, because no matter the changes are, the results will be almost the same about the 'clear' of the sound :S.
Ps: Eclair is the same as GB in sound quality/volume?.
Or maybe i'm just used to be hearing Clear Rocky sounds 'being a rocker myself' and therefore giving more importance and being more concentrated about this thing, because normally people only listen to music and f... the rest xD, making me a little petty xD.
Ps: I just listen to songs in my pc with the sony ericksson earphones and the vocals were clear, so the problem is not eq, it's in the 'quality' :S
Hey mates!
Well, i wanted to ask something about the different sound mods available for our phone:
Is any of the sound mods worthy in order to make the quality sound better? when i mean better, i'm referring to the vocals of the songs being clearly heard 'as loud as the instruments, because right now the voice is like half the volume of the instruments'.
Why i ask?, well i saw different opinions in some threads and some said that this or that sound mod makes the difference... but i also saw some saying that the only thing that does is to put Better EQ settings in the sound so that it can be heard in a better way, like it was any normal EQ in a music player if you mess around with it a bit.
So if that is only like a normal EQ player, it means... that it will not change anything about the sound quality or vocals being more clear/loud, is that right?
Example: Mixzing has an EQ and in every single song you can put different types of EQ's like a preset, if you mess around with that EQ you will surely be able to have the same quality and EQ settings as any other Sound Mod out there right?, Putting Bass lower and the Highs louder and the Gain louder, i think that will do the trick.
So the question is: Is any sound mod gonna make a difference? or a normal EQ in a music player will do just fine?
If there is a difference, then tell me what mod is better for me to install in order to get that audio quality/louder vocals please .

You are right about putting the bass eq lower and the vocals eq higher, that is probably the only way to reach clear vocals. like you, I have tried pretty much every sound mod out there.
I used to think acid made a difference, but, on closer inspection, it didn't really.
Most sound mods only increased the bass in my ears, while others didn't make any differrence at all.
So I would recommend an eq to you, my favourite one being Viper for android, because you can exactly set howe much bass you want, it has a loudness increaser and many, many more features.
It took me a while to find out my favourite settings, but now I have the Ideal amount of bass and strong, clear vocals.
PS. Since a few days I have some mid to high end earphones, in combination with those, as said, VIPER fo Android works like a charm.

So that means i'm right in what i'm saying :S.
Can you do a screenshot of your Viper settings and share it here mate?. Well in theory, if you're saying that Viper is good because of the amount of bass and loudness control, then i think it's the same thing that mixzing can do but even better because mixzing can save presets for every single song, because if we think about it: the bass is controlled by the Left bars of the EQ ( mostly controls the Drums and Bass ), the middle bars ( mostly guitar and a bit of vocals ), right bars ( Voice and making the sound more clear ), and another thing: EQ settings are not the same for every single song on a normal EQ, because not every song has the same amount of Db's or amount of Bass, Middle and High, that way some may distort, be louder than other songs, or lower. Mixzing let's you control the amount of gain and EQ settings of every single song, that's why i like it so much xD.
But if you think that Viper really makes a difference vs EQ settings of mixzing, then send me your screenshots please .
Cheers
Hi
I have the international version of the S7. As I usually do when I get a new Android device it's straight to LineageOS or another AOSP based rom. The roms usually works just fine but a common thing I have noticed over the years is that the speaker on the given device never sound the same from stock to any other rom. In this case there is too much mid-range in the sound from the speaker. So my main question is:
Is there any way one can manually tune the speaker so that it sounds closer to the stock rom? I.e. managing a high-pass filter and lowering the mid-range on the system output. This is not related to the equalizer in any sense since it is mainly the ring tone that is affected. Playing music one can just use the 'AudioFX' settings.
How does the stock rom do this? There has to be a set curve for it to not blow the speaker for ring tones etc. You don't want to send loud bass frequencies to a tiny speaker for example.
Hi, I have problem about ringtone sound. Ringtone's sound low and bad quality than other sounds. When I play music from music app, sound is really good quality and higher. But if I use that music as ringtone, sound being low and bad quality. How can I fix this?
