Given the number of different ROMs and ROM cooking utilities, it's getting very easy to make a ROM do exactly what you want. However, there are very few packages readily available (that is without dissecting cabs or ROMs).
I decided I may as well upload some packages I have made (thanks to ervius's package tool and way to much spare time) so that everyone else can find the apps that they want.
If anyone has any packages to upload, please do, or link to somewhere you have them. But please don't take others work and say it's yours...

Please can you tell.me how can i add the one keyboard, ex. htc touch keyboard on the dump rom?
What utility are you using?
i would like to use htc touch keyboard in portuguese... i have taked the files from coffie pt rom!!... Can you help-me?
With which ROM? and in what form are the files? (taken from a ROM, an nk.nbf etc...)
OEM! I want to put on micro v2 edit by me!
Please see att.
Do you have something like hypercore or neokit?
yes yes... i used neokit... i have tried to put that files, do all exacly but not apears the keyboard!... some files missing maybe? :/
What language keyboard is it?
Portuguese- PTG
So, can you help-me? :x
Sorry, I've been out up till now...
I think the problem is that you need two packages (attached) one is the basic keyboard, and the other is the PTG language pack. Using the new Neokit, you should be able to import the packages directly.
Ok big thanks, i will try it
Isnt necessary change nothing on reg.?
The two packages should contain a *.rgu file, and this should be imported by neokit, so no need to change anything.
oh yehhh... i dont have copied that from gullum rom... So i found here is the problem Big thnks friend!
no problem.

just did. well, its a lot more complicated than i see it to be.
i just need to replace one file in the XIP not to port a new xip ...
is there a easier way to do that?
help guys...
please help...
i need to edit a working xip from either a new rom or an official rom.
i only need to replace the attached file into the official xip.
can anyone help me?
have u tried to just put it in SYS folder in kitchen & build it? if i'm not mistaken u also can use the wince.nls by just copy it to windows dir in ur ppc.

hi hang tuah,
i have tried those already. it doesn't work.
by using the methods you suggest, you have to use reloadnls.exe together with the methods or else the asian regions will not be shown.
i have searched and read quite a huge amount of data and threads and the only way now is to replace the wince.nls directly within the XIP. this will ensure that after building the rom, the asian wince.nls will be effective. i need help on how to edit the xip.bin file. once edited, i can add it back to the os.nb.payout file.
i have tried dumping the official xip.bin file using xipport, but after replacing the wince.nls to the asian version and rebuilding xip.bin, flashing, the device will hang at the boot screen.
i might have miss out something else. but i dun know what i have misses out..
i need help here.
So in this case, u want to make full XIP port. U may find one low-profile guru named Akadonny. If u r lucky, he will teach u every single twist

Hey Guys,
Its been a while since i am visiting this forum. I've seen that most of the phone specific Upgrading/Modifying sections have atleast one thread about a kitchen for that particular phone. But this is not the case with P3400 and P3400i also known as GENE and the New Gene.
Why is it so? There are 3-4 ROMS available for gene and now 1 for the New Gene too but none of the authors have shared the kitchen they used for the purpose.
I know there is a thread by a moderator in this forum where he has shared the tools he used for the purpose, but the thread is not written in such a way that it can be of use for a new person.
So i request all the senior members who have experiance with cooking roms for P3400 and P3400i to share the process and tools in a clear way so more good ROMs can be made by other people too or atleast some modifications can be tried out to make the existing ones work better.
That would be a good step for all.
I made a Kitchen for gene and i'm planning to release it soon. I need to correct some bugs and made a tutorial.
here is the link
but i don't have account on 4pda.ru
if any body has 4pda.ru account download and create mirror link
Thanks Ankit, i managed to create an account on 4pda.ru by translating russian into english by the Yahoo Babelfish service. It was quiet difficult but i somehow managed to do it. Currenlt downloading the file. Will post a mirror soon.
In the meantime, can anyone suggest a filesharing website where i can upload it for free and forever? On rapidshare they delete the uploaded file after sometime.
Hey guys!
Here is the mirror link for the GENE Kitchen. This kitchen is for both new and old gene. Kudos to Ankit for finding it
http://www.4shared.com/file/76585257/8f1b219e/gene_kitchen.html
But one thing still unsolved, the readme file is in i dont know what language, its not even Russian. And the files inside the kitchen also contain russian versions as far as i can guess.
Can anybody throw some light on how to use this kitchen to generate a stock WM 6.1 ROM without any custom software and ALL the default software. One thing i can guess is that if i want all the default features included then i'll have to move all the stuff from "Removed from Sys" folder to Sys folder. Am i right?

Ya i thought about that, but i guess 4Shared is good too. Is anybody having problem downloading the kitchen from 4shared?
Any updates on the Kitchen Guys??? I have managed to get the translation of the Readme done by Google translate. I have attached the translated file.
This kitchen is made from a Russian ROM as a base. So its unusable as far as i am concerned. Some tools, although are intresting. I have managed to make an automated batch script to dump a ROM Image's (.nbh file) contents into a folder. I call it ROMAnalyzer
To use it:
--------------
Extract the ROMAnalyzer.zip to a folder. Copy your ROM file to the directory. Now drag it to either FullDump.cmd or OSDump.cmd to start the process. Check out the output folder for the dump.
The difference between FullDump and OSDump is that FullDump dumps the imgfs filesystem and also leaves the XIP, NB and TXT files in the output folder for furthur analysis. OSDump just dumps the OS files.
Don't know whether it would be useful to anyone or not. Just sharing what i got. I use it to look into new ROMS after downloading them to see whats included, and sometimes, copy stuff off them like games, tones etc
I'm trying to start cocking roms for my niki and i need some help.
I already read a lot of tutorials and know some basics but i still don't know how to get to the folders ROM and SYS that i need in my kitchen...
If someone could tell me how to extract this from the os.nb file or how to get to that folders and what tools i need for that...
I want to build a ROM in portuguese based in my niki ROM but with manila2D and some other apps and remove some things to...
If someone could help...
Thanks in advance and sorry my english!

You cook ROMS by building the basic componenet up. 3 folders are vital:
1) ROM
2) SYS
3) OEM
The ROM/SYS are the basic OS of the phone that is needed.
The OEM are essentailly the various packages or programs that you want the custom ROM to contain.
The thread by jerpelea contains all that you need for your kitchen to start cooking.
Given that you intend to create a custom ROM that is in portugese, I would recommend using the Blackstone OEM packages. Eack program appears to have 2 folders, a basic program, and then a language for that program. It is certainly easier than editing and translating the package to portugese.
Hi all,
I have been using the kitchen that jerpelea originally posted here for us and have been happily cooking ever since...but I would like to change to the new ervius kitchen and have done quite a bit of reading but still can't figure out the exact way to layout the kitchen for the Nike.
Can someone who is using this kitchen for the Nike please pm or post a link so that I can download it and look at how it is set up for the Nike?
If you need somewhere to upload it, pm me and I can give you a temporary ftp site I can access.
I am not being lazy, just trying to get my head around it
thanks in advance.

hi,
i use the ervius for my nike to translate in german 0407.
i have downloaded newest kitchen here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=469420
general informations: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=521632
it is for raphael, but i do it this way for nike too.
4 a lite tutorial i have a link for you
http://anryl.freeforums.org/kitchen-multidevice-ervius-pictorial-t8.html
!!! you have to dump an ORIGINAL-ROM first.
happy testings...
Why don't you try a "simple" plateform rebuilder-based kitchen ?
Here's my toolset. Just copy your OEM, SYS and ROM folders in.
Then drag'n drop OEM on \TOOLSET\oem2ext.exe to convert packages to EXT packages (optional).
For ROM folder, look here : http://www.bepe80.com/test/1
Then launch build_rom.bat, chose your keys number and let's go
Well, why you don't download a full kitchen, for an example from Raphael section, and dump your oldschool cooked ROM with it? That#s the way I did it with my ROM!
Now I can cook both for Diamond and Nike with the same Kitchen!
thanks for the info guys, I will try and stick with the ervius one. I have dumped a ROM and it setup the base kitchen.
So more questions...
1. How do I convert my existing OEM apps into this new format?
2. does anyone use this to port xip's, as it seems I get an error when I try? I followed Sous-Chef's instructions, but get an error relating to dumpxip.bat and the xip.bin
thanks for your help
DT
1. look after oem2ext.exe, then drag'n drop OEM folder and all your packages named PACKAGE_<device or anything you want>_<package name> will be converted to EXT packages in \EXT\<device or anything you want>\<package name>_version.
If your packages are not named this way, they'll stay in OEM.
2. to easily port XIP, look here : http://www.bepe80.com/test/2, bepe is explaining how to upgrade XIP very, very easily (I can tell that's easy since I can do it ).
The new problematic is to convert your XIP in packages with packagebuilder by drag'n drop DSMs in it. Then the only part really needed to upgrade XIP is the MSXIPKernel folder, since OEMXIPKernel is device specific.

This is very strange with all the other xip.bin i was trying i was getting the same error importing xip, but now i dowloaded you SYS, extracted the xip.bin from os.nb.payload and it worked perfectly.
Okay looks like I have just about converted my kitchen to the ervius Visual one...just ironing out the last of the bugs and all is good.
thanks everyone for your assistance.

I am looking for some help, possibly from someone like arag0n85 or FFBOY, i have sucesfully built a 6.5.5 rom using FFBOYs kitchen. My problem lies in adding sense to the kitchen. I have downloaded the sense packages but when i add them to the OEM or SYS folders of my kitchen i get the error "Could not find file 'C:\TG01_ROM_KITCHEN\temp\dump\files\imageinfo.bin'" so after some searching i got Package Creator and fed the sense files through that one part at a time, ie calender then core and so on. This at first appeared to work as BuildOS now asks me which of these i wish to include, so i tick all of them and continue to build and i now get the error "The file 'temp\dump\imageinfo.bin' already exists.
If anyone can help or point me to a thread that can please do, i'm stuck and can't figure a way round the problem

I still have the same problem when usings L3v5y's kitchen. May i ask where did you get your sense files and how did you make them into a working package.
Your English is excellent by the way, better than my German.

I have Novembre5 ROM as basis for my ROM.
Then I used the L3v5y's kitchen the ROM dump. created a folder named OEM.
SENSE OEM files added in this folder. Build without errors, ROM burning.
But SENSE does not start. After much, much tuning and error search, now it works. this is a looooooong way to the working ROM.
and help of our chefs, forget it
INFO: ffboys and nokser ROM is not posible to dump!
Thank you for your help, i've figured it out. I was using the wrong type of package builder. I was using a "visual" type as opposed to an "old" type. For any one having the same problems a visual to old convertor can be found HERE.
