I just finished flashing to tom_codon's rom. Everything is great. Except that the streaming media player is no longer there. Does anyone have a way to get that back? Thanks in advance!
You can probably find it somewhere here

Thanks so much! That's exactly what I needed!

Hi all.
Now that some WM6 roms are coming with HTC Audio Manager I have been having a play with the software.
Does anyone know how to get it to sort your music via track number when you access it by album? By default it sorts by alphabet which seems pretty dumb to me.
I'd love any help as it seems like quite a decent audio player app.
Cheers.
My gues would be to include the track number when you rip your albums
yeah all the info is in the mp3 tags. they work fine under media player.
thanks anyway... any other suggestions?
Has anyone figured out how to get this to not put all the tracks alphabetically?
good work
thanx alot
hi everyone. would be really grateful if someone could offer any advice.
when playing mp4s the video completely loses sync with the audio and video explorer bar starts at the beginning even though the video is still playing.
it only happens on video longer than 30 mins.
I've tried several converters including xillsoft video converter ultimate which has a specific setting for the hero.
I normally encode mp4 for iPod H264 as the file size is smaller but have also tried normal mp4, wmv etc but the issue still happens. a change in the resolution of video doesn't help either.
I've tried mobo player, zimly, rock player and good old stock but no avail.
I've tried several 2.1-2.3 Roms but that doesn't help.
It does work with Elelinux 2.1 stock but if i'm honest i really dont like sense roms.
does anyone know the optimal mp4 encoding settings for the hero?
is it possible its somehow kernal related e.g struggles to read larger file sizes?
sorry for the essay its just really bugging me lol thanks alot

Hi everyone,
Please could anyone offer any assistance to the current issue i'm having?
does anyone know the optimum mp4 settings to convert video for the hero?
Its strange that it works on elelinux sense 2.1 but not on any froyo or gingerbread roms.
thanks
sy
try qq player...it worked for me
You might want to try this out.
I am no expert, but this seems to work for me.
I use Any Video Converter.
320 x 240
frame rate of 15
Audio codec is aac for me.
And I use Meridian to view my videos although stock works most of the time.
I am using Elelinux 2.3 (7) currently but this worked well with Stock sense ROM as well..
Hope this works.

Thanks for your replies everyone,
I have tried the solutions suggested but still doesnt work. It has left me puzzled as if works on 2.1 then why not 2.2, 2.3
are you sure there's no problem in your video coz i'm using qq player and it works gr8
I noticed the picture viewer will play m4v videos that I put on the device through USB, but not FLV videos. What video formats are supported?
Is there anything that will play .flv video files? Any recommendations for better video players?
Thanks
I just purchased KalemSoft Media Player from the App Catalog, the price a little high but it plays many more formats than the stock webos player. I am happy because it's playing my divx movies so it was worth the cost for me.
What formats is the stock software supposed to support?

Google "webos quick install" and "preware" or just go here: http://www.webos-internals.org/wiki/Applicationreware#Installing_Preware_with_WebOS_Quick_Install
Thank you. Easy as pie with the WebOS quick install program. I was Googling and Googling and wasn't finding this.
[Q] Video: Streaming via SMB
Hello world
how can I do to watch movies on my touchpad streaming via SMB?
Are there any applications for it?
I thank you for your help
guys,
i need help to find out a good app to play .avi files on the touchpad ...
i tried installing Kalemplayer, it opens up the file and plays it but the screen is pretty messed up ..

any help would be greatly appreciated
Stream Video
I would really like to have a good video player on my touchpad which could stream over my home network (samba). The best program I've seen so far is the one which comes with the Archos tablets.
What do you mean you cannot navigate using TP?
for some reason the kalem video player in preware is messed up, you can get a good copy by going to the kalemsoft website and downloading it from there, preware should install it when you try to open it.
http://www.kalemsoft.com/site/downloads2.html
it should be the link highlighted in red
Unable to install Kalem media player either. I was able to download it onto my touchpad but says 'Cannot open MIME type'.
Was one of the many that got it on sale and still pretty new to it. How do I get around this and get it on?
Try the touchplayer. It's back up on Preware.
Sent from my HTC Dream using XDA App
When you install it, you have to make you are on 3.0.2. Also, your best bet, install Internalz Pro then install TouchPlayer, after they are installed reboot the device 2 times [for good measure]. They should install all dependencies that you will need.

I cant tell you a way to do it via SMB, but even if I could then you would need to start worrying about compatible codecs.
I would instead suggest Kalemsoft media player. It is seven bucks in the market or Free for the older version on their website.
If you download the server app, setup a DDNS account and forward the default kalem server ports you can stream your home moves to anywhere you have internet access.
If all you care about is streaming while at home, then I would use UPNP...

kalem soft works the best .. still no luck with touchplayer. thanks for the link duplissi
When you use Kalem, you're video isn't lagging at all?? I tried using Kalem and TouchPlayer. Honestly Kalem is better by far because at least it plays my video.... but otherwise, are those the only two video players out there ?
Hi all,
I'm currently running DSC 1.6 and I cannot get plex to run on my Dell Streak.
My plex can connect to the server and play a video with only sound, no video. Has anyone
got a solution for this? Tried DSC 1.5 and LH 2.9.3 no luck.
Thanks
Plex?
I have never been able to get Plex to work on any stock or mod rom on the Streak. Tried all of the suggestions, and nothing has worked. On a stock rom, I would get video once in awhile. I ended up downloading Avia Media Player. It is able to connect to my Plex server and play my media files. The quality isn't great, but it works. The other solution, is to use ES file explorer to navigate to the files, and then play the media in the player of your choice. I like Avia for Plex, because you get the cover art for the media. If you do come across a solution, please post. I have tried Plex on DSC, Longhorn, and the Rogers stock rom, as well as 350, 360, and 407. I have ended up using Longhorn, because it crashes the least. It would be nice to find a rom that was stable, and all the functions worked. Did I mention how much I hate Captcha's. We need to start a movement to ban them.

My mum's stock Samsung Galaxy II works fine, just hoping its an easy fit for the Dell Streak. The best I can do now is using a windows program call "Mezzmo" for DLNA and have the Dell Streak use Bubble UPNP with MX Player since there is a profile already in Mezzmo. The good thing is that it works, and I can play MKV transcoded to my Dell Streak. The downside is I cannot get English subtitles.
I'll be happy to hear other solutions!
