i have found the dotFred Task Manager by colonel dated 10/23/2007. when i tried and run the buildOS it keeps coming up with a "dump/temp/taskmgr.exe" is a directory not a file. or something like that. i think it works in some kitchens but not dcd's.
second is a flashlight OEM. i see it built into some peoples roms but can't find it anywhere.
i have downloaded well over a thousand OEM Packages from here and xda and cant belive it's is not in there somewhere.
can someone hook me up.
if you need to you can email them to me at codyppc at gmail dot com
thanks, cody
attached is the dotFred Task Manager that i found. agian... dont see why i am getting that error.
Flashlight... same thing here on the task manager.
You will have to do a search for the taskmgr.exe in the SYS folder. And delete it!
You will be basically replacing the stock taskmgr.exe with dot fred.

Does anyone know of an app to program/edit CAB files to act as auto-launchers in the extended ROM of an HTC Himalaya? I have the WinCE 5.0SDK but I really don't want to compile a CAB from scratch.
WinCE Cab Manager is what you are looking for (i think).
CABs in extended rom aren't exactly autolaunchers.
It is autorun.exe which runs everything what is in config.txt. You have to edit config.txt to actually launch the cab after hard reset
I actually configed my own autorun but was unable to customize specifics in any of the CABs. Could you post a link of where I could find information on the WinCE CAB manager or command line specifics for the WinCE5.0 OS?
WinCE Cab Manager is sold by www.ocpsoftware.com
Fantastic, thank you so much for directing me to the program. It worked like a charm.
you're welcome. maybe now they will give me a license for free

Hi
I have a list of my favourite apps that I like to expand and delete from as new apps come out and old ones get replaced.
I have done a search and can find a nice amount of info on cooking a ROM based on an open ROM, such as Gullums. But I dont want to do that really. I'd like to keep my Apps seperate from my OS.
Is there a way of packaging a bunch of CAB files into just the one?
I've done something similar with EXE on my PC, so in theory its possible, oui? non?
cheers all.
Well I had a bit of a better dig around in my Lunchbreak.
I've found this program which creates an executable EXE for a PC desktop install for multiple CABS, easy to use too
http://www.windowsgames.co.uk/PocketSetupCreator.html
but I'd still rather have just one CAB file which I can install from my Prophet.
any other Ideas?
In the program
goto : "builder"
Now click on "add redistribution modules to include". You can select cab, SQL or .net files.
It will include those files to the cab how is created
cheers for the reply, but Im unsure what program you mean?, can you let me in on your riddle.
However...
PocketSetup Creator is very very basic.
I've found a better version which creates compressed PPC EXE files but its $60 to knock that one on the head, I dont need this that badly, for those who are interested its called.
pocketpc Installer
http://www.phelios.net/pocketpcinstaller.html
Any other ideas, Gullum how do you do this for your cooked roms, some of your releases had a 2nd install once the ROM had been updated, with a few roms coming down e.g. Gullum Custom CAB ect.
Sorry, I speak from http://www.aperitto.com/content/view/14/28/ less basic but 29€ (app; 36$US).
Very usefull app, so you can search for cabarc.exe (or enything how is approximtly that) for free and command line cab creator from M$
Just a quick question, I installed jetcet print from the pk addons, couldnt get it to work right, so i decided to use jetcet print v5.1 which works great with all my networked printers. Now i tried to uninstall the older version of jetcet and i cannot find it under the remove programs list, however the prog is still there and starts fine...any tips on removing it?

Hi
Connect to the Pc and see there with Activesync /WMDC add or remove list. If not use like Resco explorer and delete the file from the device.
Good luck
I cannot find the jetcet print under the activesync add remove list as well...... If i were to use resco to find and delete the file/folder wont the icon still show in the programs list as its connected to the registry and everything? so basically theres no easy way to completly remove the jetcet print addon?
jetcet print is found in the extended rom. i could of sworn though that it was removable via settings on athena. i would check but im running a beta rom at the moment.
Its possible that its labeled as something totally different under settings remove programs, there are a few that being with PK and AP that i cant recognize, but im afraid to remove anything that im not sure of. Now the latest version of jetcet that I installed shows in the remove programs list, I just dont see the one from PK's addon's.
how about any of these
PK 3.0 wmp fix ( im guessing thats a windows media player fix, so thats not it)
PK 3.0 Addons ( This is my suspect.....even though it doesent say jetcet print...will this uninstall ALL the addons i've chosen from his "addon zip")
PK 3.0 PK AM 1.2.903.714
PK 3.0 PK AM 1.2.903.714 -> HTC Audio Manager
PK 3.0 Addons contains a collection of apps. I edited Ext-ROM with Ext-ROM Editor and extracted the PK 3.0 Addons.cab. I can't access my PC containing the files at the moment, so i can't say if jetcet Print is inside this cab.
I tried to remove WKTask and Screen Capure app because i have updated versions here (cooked in Screen Capture doesn't work!), but they aren't in Ext-ROM, so no way to remove if not recooking the ROM.
Please for next update of ROM "Wktask" and "Screen Capture" install please into Ext-ROM.
With Ext-ROM editor and duttys good nbhtool I removed TCPMP 0.81 and replaced with TCPMP 0.72 RC1 to add Youtube video playback, but after flashing Ext-ROM & HR the install of TCPMP 0.72 stops and freeze.
well i just realized dual does not have jetcet print. woops how could i have missed that. no wonder i couldnt remember the name of the cab in the extended rom. no clue how u have it in there since its been removed from the dual rom. the cab is in the addons to rom rar.

wktask just download cab and install over the old one. should have no problems there. the screen capture app is cooked into the rom. look in the windows folder and use total commander to replace if needed. tcpmp just install the dual rom and go to add remove programs and remove from there then install 0.72
thats correct pawell, i installed the jetcet from the addon .rar file. Sadly thres a more recent version that performs much better...I am stuck with the version from the addon.rar file as i cant find it anywhere to uninstall it.

sorry about that. its because its a cab if i remember correctly from the extended rom so it didnt have uninstall available. if u find the time do a hard reset and just install the new cab. sorry for the trouble this has caused u.
No biggie at all pawell, the advantages of the rom greatly outweigh looking at 1 extra icon under programs heh. I'll just be patiently waiting for your next rom release

Hi, I just installed a 6.5 rom, but unfortunately the HTC Task Manager obviously is not suitable for this version of the OS, so please suggest some task manager that is suitable with 6.5.
Thanks in advnace.
Isn't there one in WinMo 6.5 already? ... If there is little time you can look at http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=528
Sorry, but i can not seem to find any suitable task manager nor some simple titanium launcher plugin.
How to you manage to get the applications closed with 6.5??

Hi, I think you are looking for the e-natives Showcase program. It's an efficient task manager and helps you close applications in WM 6.5.
It's located at: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=530564
I can not close the applications with the showcase.... is there an alternative
showcase suite registry
Use this cab file to enable showcase to close the programs by "ok".
ShowcaseSuite-registry.cab
[
It is a registry key.
"SUITE_CloseOnTap" dword: 1
in:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\e-Natives Technology\Showcase\

I my self use QuickMenu as it is a Task manager can be set to close apps with X or OK and it also has hibernate to clear RAM and it is also a comm manager greatest piece of software a PPC can have
you can use quick menu with wm6.5.3 (specially with mr.Bikertibi roms)
if so how?
this is based on information found in this thread, so thank you Jonous:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=667797
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Keys\40C3", "Flags"
setting this to 0 enables camera button, problem is that setting is lost (value becomes 4) after reset, guilty for this probably being manila sense itself.
the solution is to enter this to registry at startup
I. by using FDC taskmanager (http://www.dotfred.net/TM/FdcSoft_TaskMgrv3.3_WM6.5.cab), in 3 little steps (someone can make a cab with these):
1. install FDC taskmanager to internal storage
2. copy attached import_camera_button.lnk file in windows\startup folder
3. copy attached a.reg in \temp folder
run file @2 or reset, camera button starts camera now, as with official rom
if you want a.reg somewhere else/with different name, you need to edit @2 shortcut properties (e.g. with total commander)
II. by starting the attached activate_camera_button.exe at each startup (make a link to it in windows\startup folder); what this small app does is just to change the mentioned register value to 0 (you have to trust me on that )
i am a wm rookie and proud user of mirom1_rel6 rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=906969)
(thank you mirom for this great sense rom)
good luck
work well,thanks
work well,thanks
thanks, works great
good job, thanks
feel free to use whichever solution works for you (registry file or if you don't want the fdc task manager installed, the standalone program)
while both are working fine, i prefer the fdc task manager one since anyway this is a great program to have installed.
I have cabbed the exe version for easy install
I hope thats ok, I know people want easy solutions and a cab makes sense.
