audiopara file for Mogul ROM 3.35 - Mogul, XV6800 ROM Development

Guys-
There seems to still be volume issues with this new ROM and the old audiopara.csv fix for ROM 2.17 does not work for th newer one. Can someone tell me how to alter the old fix or is there a newer audiopara.csv file out for ROM 3.35 for the Mogul phone? Thanks...........

this only makes the earpiece louder, i have not done the speakerphone yet.

Will you post it here when you do one that improves the earpiece, speakerphone to this post?
does this program have options or it defaults to higher volume settings?
Sorry for the possibly ignorant question, I am faily new to WM devices but want to improve the speaker volume and the earpice volume on the mogul ppc6800... its too low!!!
Thanks

Would this help the bluetooth volume?

I used an Old audio para from 2.2.0 and it works well for this ROM.
I believe no2chem has a audiopara program that allows you to build an audiopara to your likings. It is part of his tools such as nueLED.

dcd, I am able to open the AudioPara.cvs in excel... if I want to customize it to improve the speaker and the ear piece volume, is it really complicated? where can I find what each field means and the ranges to enter?
I see that you are very knowledgeable and a lot of people come for your advice. If you have time to answer or explain this better, I'll appreciate it...
OFF TOPIC... I haven't tried ur ROM because I don't understand what is 'Kitchen'...
Anyway, great work!!!
Thanks

Here's the one I made awhile ago, posted on here somewhere.
It bumps up the earpiece, speakerphone, and wired headphones.
Starts at stock low volume, and goes well beyond in larger steps than stock stepping up to a much louder sound.

Yeah but the question is will this work with the new ROM 3.35?

yes, I'm using it now.

Just modify the 3.35 audiopara file yourself. Couldn't be easier and takes about 5 min total.

I can't replace the original AudioPara file in the WM Windows folder with the one from the zip file above... probably because its a system file, any idea how can I do this or how can I customize the original to improve the mogul's speaker and earphone???
Thanks

Cool, I just installed it and noticed an instant difference. Thankd ScrufDog

Just extract to the windows directory....don't just try to paste it, it won't let you.

Is there a way to make the BT volume louder in this audiopara file?

Thank you this worked...
I noticed a great improvement in the speaker and earpiece... I don't use bluetooth so can't comment...
When using the Media player I didn't really notice much difference, maybe I'm asking for too much but was this supposed to improve the speaker when using media player or HTC Audio Manager?

well, I've been messing with AudioPara for the past 2 hours.
Seems Bluetooth cant be adjusted there. Neither can media playback through the rear speaker.
In the file it seems that there are 'basic' entries to adjust these, but they dont actually do anything that I can tell.
The ones that actually change the volume have 5 levels to adjust, the 'basic' ones only have one, and they dont seem to actually change anything.
I went ahead and looked at no2chem's nueAudio and his proggie changed the same things I was changing with no effects either.
So at this point it would seem we are stuck with louder volume through the earpiece, speakerphone and wired headphones, all while on the phone. I will continue to investigate.

you can now install my file using a cab file, so its much easier. Its in my original post here...

Upgrading Mogul speaker?

For all the talk about upgrading the ROM lately (still hoping the new official one comes out soooon), I was wondering if anyone had given any thought to replacing the external speaker (on the back) to get a higher volume. Does anyone think this might be possible?
Also interested in this. Not so much an 'AudioPara' tweak, I'm already working with DCD's 2.10/3.27 so the volume has been modified already. I'd just like to know you can make the external speaker any louder, for videos and other media.
I'm interested in this as well... I came from an LG VX8100 that had the stereo speakers on the side. This phone's speaker has been a very big let-down.
Have you guys tried the SRSWOW.cab file that's floating around the net?
I had to put the SRS settings as headphone to notice a big difference, but the volume is way better and not distorted or crackling.
I've done a search on srswow.cab on google and came up with nothing. any pointers as to where to look would be most appreciated.
BTW, I'm using the audiopara editor from neu and it's good but just undocumented so it's hit or miss, if you turn the settings up too high you can fry your speaker, the feedback on just a little bump on the sliders was amazing, plus it making the sliders higher makes picking up the background noise in a call so you can't hear the other pserson a big possibility.
SRSWOW
Is this watcha talkin bout??
thanks, where'd you find the file?
opens the program and comes up with an error message that there is no SRS driver loaded, the program will not exit.
Error
Same here . . .
im flashing my fone rite now...lemme finish it and see if i get that error...i just had it laying around in my Collected Cabs folder
Reset . . .
Just do a reset then it loads fine . . .
waiting to see how you guys feel about this update. Better speaker volume is a fantasy, although GPS and rev A are a dream to me but I hear they are available and I'm working on making dreams come true
it runs fine on mine...i just cant test it rite now...at work lol
will test when i get out and report in quality/sound levels
restarted, it works fine, again, can't test it unless someone calls me.
is there any documentation on this thing?
i found a website showing the d/l location and etc with other ppls comments; but no luck at srslabs.com either
http://www.freewareppc.com/multimedia/srswowhd.shtml
Will this have any impact on the internal speaker? I find the volume to be exceedingly low, even at full volume, when taking a normal call on the phone, not on speakerphone.
The software provided ealier doesnt do much for the TITAN. Infact it lowers the performance of the speaker. The installation worked, but the end result was poor.
No matter what setting I put in, it would make the volume lower instead of higher.
I think this was meant for stereo speakers to create that Sorrround sound type of effect, but since the TITAN has a mono speaker it only produces one portion of the sound.
There is something out there called the HTC Audio Booster. It is supposed to help with volume increase, but so far the applicaiton itself is broken / or i havent found a functional one.

Are you positive you've adjusted the settings enough. I find when you change the settings to:
(internal) stereo
3d 80%
center50%
focus40%
definition40%
and also make sure the speaker settings on top are turned up (I forget to do that a lot)... this cab works well
I just did this update on a wm6.1 and no issues with install. Its hard to determine if so und is louder but my butt dyno says it is. Played some ringtones and things are louder (not as loud as Touch though, I dont think) but will make some phone calls to get a better idea
I install every program on my 8 gb memory card now but this seems to cause issues. AIM doesnt show up on programs list (have to access from memory card), GPS program only found on memory card and wont open even after successful install (GPS TODAY) and now this file, i cant even find the utility anywhere. And I followed instructions on listed website above:
"Setting > System > WOW HD settings.", there is now WOW HD settings...maybe I have to soft reset?

[Q] Sound Quality in TG01

Hi, so my TG01 has really poor sound quality. I mean I have W960i and there music has nice and deep bass and it's nice and loud, and here the bass is like on poor quality video on youtube.. also when I make it lauder it does a lot of clicking on the background.. I tried few player and MortPlayer gives me best sound quality, but summing it, it's still poor If a comapre it to Sonny E.
Maybe it's sound drivers or somethin ? IM TALKING ABOUT SOUND IN HEADPHONES. I'M USING WM 6.5 FFBOYS 1.0.

Yes, sound quality has never been strong side of TG01 but maybe You should consider to utilize WOWHD. It works like some kind of DSP so You should
see any difference.

The file is probably hidden; you need a File Explorer which is able to 'see' hidden / system files (the native windows explorer in Windows Mobile only shows you ones which do not have the -h (hide) attribute set).
The reference to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE (often written in short as HKLM) is a 'Hive Key' in the Registry. This works just like the Registry on a desktop PC and contains all the variable settings for the system and all the applications you have installed. To access this and edit its contents you need a Registry Editor.
One option which does all in one package is the Resco File Explorer (Payware); alternatively you can search on XDA and there are various alternative offerings available with differing capabilities.
Hope that helps clarify....
Back to the original issue behind this, though and I would observe that actually the sound quality out of the TG01 is in fact very good - but you will only hear that with a high bitrate audio source and a decent set of earphones on the end to do it justice, or alternatively by output to a high quality external amplifier via quality screened cable and connectors. The stock earbuds (or similar) will never give you good quality sound. Addition of SRS or equivalent software will only modify the perceived sound, but can never overcome the limitations of such hardware. I've included the spec for my audio setup in my sig below - I'm using .wav encoded audio so it is 1:1 CD quality with no compression whatsoever - as soon as you start using compression (MP3 or similar) the audio quality will be degraded.
well ur answer does not help me. I do use resco explorer.
And how can u say quality is good ? ;d there is a lot of cliping etc quality is so poor that my casete player would give me better output. well I do have good quality headphones pionier make that reatail over pounds. my MP3 files sound awesome on my PC or Sony E. and TG01 just can not handle this level. That's why I'm loooking for anyway to fix this issue and I need this WOWHD as it might help. anyway I got it working but it gives my no audio output 0.- help.
Tried an active set of headphones or a portal headphone amp?
I did not tried amp, but I will no spend any more money for this, jsut want to manage WOWHD to work. I has it working and after editing registry entries my phone does not swich music to headphones, and when answering the phone it can only use speaker, and the micro does not work ;/ too bad help.
Well I just happened to have my headphone cable on me today at work. I have a set of noise cancelling headphones here at work and I don't seem to have a problem with 'clicking' except perhaps between songs when it actually changes track. Whilst not being loud, it sounds ok to me.
Are you using the original headphones that came with the TG01? They suck. Change them for something else and see if that improves things.
Also.. I wonder if the 'radio' version has anything to do with it?
As I said before HEADPHONES HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH IT. I USE PIONIEER HDJ1000 AND I WOULD SAY THEY ARE REALLY GOOD. I tried others as well and the best sound i get on pionieer. but it's still not good at all. Bass sounds like a cheap imitation of bass. and as someone said I could cry WOWHD as it worked for few people giving a bit better sound, so jsut want to try it, but can not get it to work, got this frustrating error @ no WOW HD driver loaded .. And i have no idea if radio version has anything to do with it, I hope you guys tell me that Thanks
You could always try another ROM that already includes WOWHD in it? (Look for the MiROM 8 + UPX compression ROM )
I know that's a bit extreme to do, but you have already flashed your phone with FFBoys.. so it shouldn't be that much of an issue. (use PIM Backup to record your contacts first!)
It could just be that the SE phone has better dedicated hardware as many of them seem to be made with music in mind.
Ok downloading new ROM. I have tried many ROM with no change on audio quality I hate Sense but just wanna try this WOWHD software and see if it's worth using, then I'll go back to old FFboy's ROM, and yes I also think that Sonny E. has better hardware as it's Walkman phone, and that's always been known as good thing.

... TG01 with 9,9 mm was for a long time the thinnest smartphone.
....thinnest smartphone= thinnest loudspeaker= poor sound
... but i love it ...
Allegedly Phantasm X3 is the music player that gives the best sound quality on windows mobile, but good luck obtaining a copy even legitmately.
As mentioned, have it might be worth while trying a different 'radio' with the rom, as if it can effect call quality, maybe it can affect sound quality as well. Which country are you in?
I'm from England and I don't really think that where I leave has anything to do with, the quality of sound. The hardware isn't too good it does not support 320 sample rate
But guys I do have sound that can be accepted, it's still not good, but there is not clicking ans stuff. I have installed miRom8 with WOWHD already intergrated.
I will stay with it, because it runs quite smoothly and many functions that are useful. AND MOST IMPORTANT SOUND IS BIT BETTER.
thanks for help
I've tested a lot of Roms and I have a couple of TG01 : Sound quality it's always the same. It's hardware related, not software.
Said this, sound quality it's average. Using device speakers is quite poor (perhaps due to the thickness, as said before) but with headphones it's not bad, even good in my opinion
And if you use a pair of good headphones and SRS HD switched ON, sound it's superb
Instead, nobody says nothing about voice record quality. Its awful, the worst record device I've never heard . Do you agree?
Hi I am new to this forum. I used Touch and Kaiser in the past.
Have been using TG01 for a few weeks and love it.
I am trying to use it as a music player via stereo bluetooth headset, using coreplayer and in mp3 or wma format. The quality of sound is awful. Then I change the music format as flac which is a lossless format and improves the quality a bit. But the human voice is like a digital nature, worse of all, still not much bass. SRS HD helps a bit on the voice, but not the bass (I have to admit my headset is not a very decent one)
Two questions:
1. I understand a quality headset will definitely improve the bass quality, does the bluetooth transmission limit the bitrate or sound frequency?
2. Any recommendation on the tweak, media player or setup?

Try a different music player, S2P is good, and you can use the music player while the screen is locked.
As i said earlier Phantasm is the best audio player available for winmo, but i have never used it.
I don't think SRS WoW HD will really help too much to be honest.

[Q] Volume hack

I did, the main issue is I use audiobook player which is quiter and with max volume is still not great. I need to use this for my studies. The xloud has no effect on this. Previously with Galaxy Nexus I used alsamixer which was great in unlocking the volume but it doesn't work on XS.
i dont know but i used to use the audioboost it was work before with x10 but i find xperia s to work really loud i have half way income-call volume and it work perfectly fine for me !!!
seems to me that i got my ears too sensitive !
It may not be ideal but you could just batch reincode your audiobooks at 150% Volume(Gain).

Audacity will do it. You need to get LAME separate for MP3s(Legal thing). To do a single file open the mp3, slide the -...+ slider on the left of the track to the right, then export the MP3 to a new file. Done.
Not sure about batch processing with it, I've only ever done such things with images, but google is your friend on that one.

Aosp with loud in call headphone speaker and Mic?

Are there any of these out there? ? Well.. not that I've found, and why is it not more of an issue? Am I the only one that makes calls on headphones? I love aosp but unfortunately this is a deal breaker for me since I can't hear very good to start with, plus the other person can't hear me..
I know I have posted this multiple times in multiple threads but I have tried everything I can think of to fix this problem but as of this point I have not found anything yet. At least not anything that will stick it after a reboot. Alsamixer does fix the problem with a few adjustments but it won't stick, obviously a system file resets it at boot.
Last night I found a file that configures the sound and does stick but I have yet to find the correct configuration. The file is toltecdma found in system/etc/sound. Any help is deeply appreciated.

Well, it's not a "fix" but I have finally "worked around" my problem. Using tasker and some alsa_amixer scripts I can now make/receive calls and be assured that I will have loud headphone volume and a loud mic so the other party hears me loud and clear, and just in case I have a tasker shortcut set up that will run the script with a click.
I am now happy enough with the volume that I can finally run the aosp roms as daily drivers.
I also boosted my system wide sounds by editing the /system/ect/sound/toltecdma file. It sticks after a reboot but when a call is initiated the in call settings are reset, hence the need for tasker.
Maybe someday I will figure a true fix for this but for now problem solved.
My assumption is that there is an xml that needs to be decompiled/recompiled (maybe one of the alsa files in /system/bin) to be edited, or the tiny hal configuration needs to be changed prior to building the rom. Not sure, but these are probably my next steps.

In Call Volume Boost w/ Root

Now that we have root for our Z3v's... I've been playing around with trying to find/edit the files that control our phones speaker volumes (both in call earpiece volume and speaker phone volume). I don't necessarily need to increase the speaker volume for playing music because most of the time I'm using bluetooth, but I'm sure a lot of people would be interested in that as well.
I'd like to be able to just modify the phones system files rather than use some sort of booster app.
From what I'm been able to find, the file located in /system/etc/ called mixer_paths.xml is what our device uses to control volume parameters. I've seen where other devices have had these types of files modified in order to boost max volumes.
Is this something we can do with our phones? The in call volume, both earpiece and speaker phone are just TOOOO quite for me.
This is about as far as I can comfortably go as I'm not a developer/programmer.
Anyone out there comfortable helping out with this idea? Is it possible.

I think it's almost comical how low the audio levels out of the headphone jack are. I don't know if this can be fixed or what but even playing at full volume it seems too low.

Wow so we can flash .zip files in recovery now? Again just making sure, just rooted and there isn't a ton of info out there for our device atm. Thanks in advance
I flashed it in the dual recovery as well. Just make a backup first because the zip they have to take it back to stock isn't for our phone. In other words if you ever want to go back you should wipe & reload the backup. And make sure you don't install the lollipop version.
