hi guys
i just purchased a 2nd hand dopod 818 pro of the net. i'm not too sure about the formware version but i know its running WM6 and it already has the HTC home and TouchFLO stuff installed with it. But i feel its extremely slow and laggy. got to use the overclocker to push it from 195 to 273.
This is what i was able to extract from the device info
rom version: 6.6.6.666 WWE
rom date: 23/8/07
radio version: 02.19.21
Protocol version: 4.1.13.09
ExtROM version: Transformer 1.1
is there a faster rom with WM6+Touchflo+HTC home+3d cube for use?
the speed, stability, functionality, might be difference between any type of prophet models.
some might say this rom is good for jammin, some say not to dopod.
i suggest you try some roms & flash it, then you can notice which is good for you.
also you might need to do some extra read on the rom thread. maybe you can get some clues to your curiosity.
latest roms available for prophet is wm6.1
read, read, choose, pick & flash it
i'm using shadow vista clean ver. rom by varanusvincent & iiiox (base on cloudyfa rom) on my dopod 818 pro.

hi duato
thanks for your quick reply. i was looking for something with the HTC plugins built into the rom. not as seperate cabs.
If you want to use certain rom which you think good for you but doesnt have htc plugins, you'll need to install it yourself.
Dont want cab?, so you need the OEM ver.
link to htc stuff :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=344533
& this :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=311225
is there an OEM rom for the HTC touch that will work with the prophet?
OEM=original equipment manufacturer.
oem is not a rom, it is a file that extract from original source to be use into other device.
i guess the htc touch files that you want is the htc home, touchflo & cube.
look for it from the link above & install. so next, your device will have the same functionality as htc touch
BEFORE that, upgrade your device with latest/newer wm6 or wm6.1 for better stability, speed etc.
read this for upgrade, give you some info :

Only one question: what's the connection of this ROM to TeixeiraBMB ROM (besides the cook)? Is it any better?

No connection at all.
Don't know what it has because it didn't flash this V20 and I don't read viet yet
For the previous versions I would say this PDAViet ROM is more vanilla than mine.
A Very good rom, I like it.
love PDAVIET ROM's since my TYTN
I installed this ROM. It's really nice and has one great advantage over others: it maps keys properly for use with gameboy emulators (I mean finally the keys from hardware keyboard send different key-codes - in all other 6.1 and 6.5 ROMs all keys return the same code).
But unfortunately there is one even bigger issue: the ROM is really awfully slugish. Sometimes system stops for several seconds.
Does anyone experience the same problem? Does anybody have some means to fix it?
Thanks in advance. I really liked this ROM, but with its speed it's almost impossible to use it everyday.
I saw this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cjvGSQQSgkU
And want to install Manilla 2D in my Nike (but only if works well and fast, like the video)
I' am so confused.... can somebody tell me CLEARLY, where can I find the latest version of Manila 2D, and how can I install it in my nike?
I have:
Windows Mobile 6.0 (but if it is needed I will upgrade to WM 6.1 with the official ROM from http://www.htc.com/www/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=44&cat=2&dl_id=116)
ROM version is 1.31
Radio version 1.58
I have and some questions:
1.) Is it needed to ''kill'' the cube?
2.) Is it needed to install new (custom/official) ROM?
3.) Somebody told me that with the new official ROM http://www.htc.com/www/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=44&cat=2&dl_id=116 manila 2D is included, is it true?
Thanks a lot
sorry for my ''bad english''
Manila 2D cab
1) I do not think so, but I am not sure
2) I do not have tested all the costum ROM of this forum, but I am sure that are all so fast and more!!!
But if yuo need a cab, yuo can find it here
3) NO! is with cube!
One last question before the installation
First of all thanks for the help.
I have to do and an other qustion.
One friend had installed an old version of manila 2D and everything in his Nike worked very slowly, especially the cube. If I install the newest version (from your link), my nike will work slowly or normally?
I haven't tried it so I can't reply about it
I use my cooked ROM because it is really really fast!!!
It seems better than HTC one!
You can try the cab and if you do n't like make a hardreset, or switch to a cooked ROM
I confirm what salvy said : all cooked ROM here are faster than official ones (the first and the update...). And almost all have M2D built in (at least WM 6.1 ones...).
Why don't you flash an hardSPL and give a try to choose one ? If you really need official HTC ROM, you'll reflash it, flash stock SPL et voilà !
i know this is probably somewhere and il get told off for asking this but i have searched and searched for the past 3 days now and just got a load of confusing stuff about Olipro Hard SPL 2.10 (which i have now worked out to be a boot loader..... i think....) but most the links i found go to a nonworking wiki page..... can some one give me a simple how to guide??? I am completely new to WM and flashing these devices so i have no idea what i am doing.....
thankyou for any help you can give me
edit: the main thing a actualy need is to use my 8GB microSD card... if there is a simple update i can put with WM5 then that would be perfect!!!!
edit 2: im running on Windows Mobile 5.0 with the Messaging and Security Feature Pack OS 5.1.461 (Build 15671.3.3.0) i think there is a more recent version of this but its not on the htc website..... and i cant find anything anywhere....
Hi,
I am also new to this forum and to using Winmo but to flash your rom to one of the cooked roms available on this site you just need to connect your Hermes to your pc and make sure that active sync is connected up. Make a backup of your data such as contacts, messages, etc. Then you need to run Olipro Hard SPL 2.10 as that will prevent a bad install from turning your Hermes into a brick. Find more info about that and download Hard-SPL-V7.zip at the bottom of the first post on following page.
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=296722
Once you have finished running Hard-SPL you can then run one of the Roms here. I am using Shamanix`s WM6 Ultimate v2 FINAL at the moment which is really nice.
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=359917
But there are loads of other really cool cooked roms which I will try out sometime. Next one I will try is CRCs Release 13.5 - Stable which looks very cool too.
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=387990
Hope that helps some. Cheers, t_t
hi and thanks for help!
How is it going to relate to unlocking? I have a cingular 8525 which I unlocked after a few days of struggle.
Will it be unlocked after the update or I have to unlock it again?
I have:
Code:
ROM: 2.15.502.3
ROM DATE: 04/09/07
RADIO v: 1.16.00.00
Protocol 32.53.7018.01h
i have been search on here and on some other sites for some long time to find a way to back up my stock rom installed on my HTC HD2 ..... but everybody is talking about cooking rom and backing up contacts or so .....
is there any way to back up my stock rom from my HTC HD2 before doing anything to my phone??
i just wanna keep a back up of the original rom before doing anything .... can anybody help me?
just download it, a million times easier.
look here [REF]Leo Official ROMs

in your device check the software version and the radio version
and give it to me... i'll give you the link from where to download the same rom
rom version 1.66.415.4 (76641) WWE
radio version 2.07.51.22_2
there .....
its really strange that i cant find any of the great developers and programes on this site to help me in my problem
as it was stated in another threaduntil noe ther is no way to "extract" or "backup" an entire rom .
I perfectly see what you mean, its a problem for me too: i modded my 1.66 stock rom so heavily that it would take days to reconstruct my perfect running hd2 in case an update to new 3version stock or flash of cooked rom fails at all and/or dissatisfies me.
then i want to go back to the previous perfect state by just flashing my cutomized stock rom without any additional hazzle
Sashimi won't do this, no other app won't do this..........
Even Spb backup won't do this as I had to learn the hard way since reflashing seems to be not the same as just upgrading a rom .........
some things happen in the rom that we still do not fully understand ......
I have the same concern as winner1. I want try out some custome roms, but before that it would be nice to have some sort of backup of my stock rom.
troed mentioned there is no to "extract" or "backup" an entire rom. So there is the option of downloading a stock rom.
As a matter of fact I am a total noob and I have no idea on what i must to pay attention to. Could someone help me to find a download of my stock rom, please?
Despite there is no hardware-branding, I don't know if my rom is software-branded. It would be nice to have a branded rom if there was one.
I bought my HTC HD2 from the service provider Three in Austria in August this 2010.
Here are some additional information about my phone:
OS-Version: 5.2.21869 (21869.5.0.82) / WM 6.5 Pro
Manila-Version: 2.5.19211619.0
ROM-Version: 1.66.407.1 (76641) GER
ROM-Date: 01/11/10
Radio-Version: 2.07.51.22_2
Protocoll-Version: 15.32.50.07U
Thank you for your effort and time.

The fact that your rom version is 1.66 tells us that although the phone is on 3, the rom isn't rom locked, so you use default HTC roms, not branded roms. (Which would have a 1.7x version)
Unless i am mistaken, this means you need the 1.66 HTC GER stock rom, which (amazingly) can be found on teh HTC germany website under support, pick your phone, downloads, rom updates., or, as per post two of this thread, the official roms thread, first post, first link, 1.66 folder, and teh one you want is called
RUU_Leo_HTC_GER_1.66.407.1_Radio_Signed_15.30.50.0 7U_2.06.51.07_Ship.exe
If you download it from teh htc website, you can confirm its the correct one by using your serial number, because it wont let you download it if its not correct.
Hi, I am from India, just bought a new HTC HD2 and so far happy with it.
Haven't hacked/flashed any WM device before as never used one! Have some experience on hacking my PSP though So, thought of asking for some help from you experienced people
Well, here it goes:
Checked my device Software Information and it says:
_____________
OS version
5.2.21869 (21869.5.0.82)
Manila version
2.5.19211619.0
ROM version
1.48.720.2 (71294) WWE
ROM date
11/25/09
Radio version
2.05.51.05_2
Protocol version
15.28.50.07U
_____________
So, I assumed I have an old v1.48 ROM and checked HTC website, it says latest ROM is v1.66. Tried to download but says my device isn't supported and doesnt let me download. Checked through many threads and seen someone uploaded official ROMs on 4shared folder. Those seem to be upto v2.13 as well as v3.14.
So please let me know which is the latest version of Official ROM and which way do I update my HD2? Updating ROM will also update my Radio and Protocol and OS versions?? If possible, please link me
Also I would need some guidance on whether to install Android or try any custom ROM. Also, which is the best Custom ROM out there?? All I'd need is 1) Battery Life (Don't wanna sacrifice HTC Sense) 2) Image playback (As I'm a fashion photographer and need references for posing on location) 3) Facebook and bit of browsing and messaging.
Also, where to enter the registry tweaks?? How to open the registry editor??

3.14 is the latest, you can run android on this with no
other conditions like HSPL.
Updating to a Stock ROM will change your ROM and Radio only
updating to a custom ROM (with HSPL) will update only the ROM - most custom
ROMs dont include a Radio .nbh

with your conditions above, both Winmo (stock) and Android has its own advantages
and setbacks, but both are excellent when it comes to photography, you will
come to decide which is best for you only when you've tried both.
