hi guys
i have the HTC home 1.6 plugin installed on my prophet. somehow, the htc home settings does not appear on my Today settings page. i cant choose what tabs i want i.e favourite people, launcher etc. i'm stuck with the default home, weather and launcher.
i've tried uninstalling and reinstalling. even tried installing htc home plugin 2.1 but no joy. is there any registry settings i am missing?
also, any chance i can change the default keypad input skin from the ugly silve/blue one to a black one from HTC?
Help required here too...
Greeting expats,
I too missing home tab setting whereby you select some options. It happened after installing "HTC.Home.Eng.6Tab". Is there any "cab file" for the HTC tab setting. Pls help me too...
By default only 5 tabs is enabled. You can change the Tab by editing this registry key:
HKLM/SOFTWARE/HTC/HTCHome Tabsetting. Initially the key will be this string: "1,2,3,4,5" This enable the Home,
QuickDial, Weather, Launcher and Music in that order.
If you want to add the profile tab simply change it to: "1,2,3,4,5,6" with the profile tab being the last.
"1,4,2,5,6,3" will change the order to: Home, Launcher, QuickDial, Music, profile and weather.
"1,2,4,5" will display only four tabs: Home, QuickDial, Launcher and Music.
and Soft reset.

I installed it today and everything is fine except I lost the icons on teh "audio profile tab" - vibrate, no sound icons etc..
have you tried changing the icons from within HHC?
Copy the related icons from Windows folder to HTCHome folder on your phone and then do soft reset (Power off-On) this should resolve the issue.
I think Ive had enough with HTC 6 Tab + customizer. Because of the icon issue, I decided to uninstall the 6 Tab cab and just use HTC customizer Ver 1 to change the clock of my stock HTC HOME plugin. After rebooting, it wouldnt pass the pin code area and had to do a hard reset :-( It was uncalled for and I was unprepared. dang..
I want to change the Clock of the HTC Home to Manila theme style "flip" any1 know how to do that without the customizer?
Hey All -
I'm a bit of a newbie - got my Raphael last week. I love the site and appreciate all of the mods/apps/themes in here. I did a bunch of different keyword searches and didn't see the answers to a couple of questions...
1. When I go into Adv Config Tool --> Menu --> More Settings --> TF3D and add the Call History tab , it doesn't show up after a soft reset. Any ideas as to why? If I go back into the Adv Config Tool and check the Call History tab is unchecked...I've done it a few times to ensure I saved correctly, etc., but still having the issue.
2. Any idea how I can reduce the size of the clock on the TF3D home screen? I depend on my daily calendar and would like to see more of it on the home screen..I'm also going to try and rid of the Call History line on the home screen (according to 2/3 other posts).
Thanks for the help!
im not using the advanced tf3d im using the diamonds tf3d its works on the touch pro if u delete the file needs tweaks under program file it works just fine on my pro
UP!
I am looking for add a new tab on TF3D too, my father's diamond show the call history tab, i tryied it with advanced config tool and did not success..
i would like too add it to
Alright Im switching over from TF3d to Chrome/Chome (seen it called both?) and Im a bit confused.
Under today settings it allows me to change its layout, if I select windows default it uses a TF3D type vertical scroll on the screen but if I customize it then it removes the scroll feature and just lists the items on the home screen (no scroll).
I like the no scroll look, but my issue is that I cannot add anything else outside the few items that Im allowed to select in the menu. How can I add other things, like internet and windows messenger and other programs?
You're confusing CHome (windows default in 6.5) with the Today screen and its plugins. You get to pick one or the other. Personally, I use them both, from time to time, and I hope that finger-scrolling gets incorporated into Today.
Get CHome Editor to create new panels and to reorganize CHome.
I went to Settings/Manage Applications/Remove Programs and removed several listed items, which I thought just related to unused colour schemes, in order to free up some storage memory. However, I now find that two unintended changes have resulted.
1. The main one is that I seem to have lost the enlarged scroll button that previously appeared when I tapped the right-hand side of long windows. All I have now is the default grey slider bar.
2. The other, less important, is that after the screen display times out and I press a button to restore the display with the 'slide padlock', the background has changed from the original Sense colours to a plain 'gradient blue' background. This is not inconveniencing me at all, but it would be nice to restore the original background.
TIA.
i think both problems, especially the FIRST one, can be fixed by simply going to Windows Mobile Settings->Home and choosing a different theme...click OK...and then repeat the same steps and NOW choose the stock HTC theme (don't know what its called! sorry!).
after all of the above, set a wallpaper from Windows Mobile Settings->Home, check the box at the bottom that says "Use this picture as the background" and select a file. after this step, set a home screen and lock screen wallpaper from Sense. if you use CHT (cookie's home tab), you will get even more options and control over your wallpaper.

Many thanks for your reply. Your advice got me on the right track to resolve both problems.
I went to Settings->Menu->All Settings->Today and changed the theme, then repeated the sequence and changed it back to 'HTC Black'. I then chose the 'Items' tab and changed the checkbox from 'HTC Sense' to 'Windows Default' (ignoring a warning not to move away from Sense). Then I repeated the sequence and changed the 'Items' checkbox back to 'HTC Sense'. This seems to have restored both the Sense wallpaper and the enlarged scroll button.
Thanks again.
I use the Sense UI "Weather" on my HTC HD2 (Leo; T-Mob USA) all the time for riding. I recently started using the Windows default Today screen, but the weather is incorrect. I've updated it, tried downloading on Quick GPS, etc. The weather is always wrong. If I switch back to the Sense Today Screen, the weather is correct. If I update the Sense weather, it is still correct. If I switch back to the Windows Default Today Screen, the weather is incorrect. I update Windows weather and it is still incorrect. In other words, if I use Sense, the weather works, and if I change back to WM UI the weather shows some place else... don't know where. I think it's a location issue?
1. Is there a way to set or change location for the Windows Default weather application? If I tap it, it just updates.
2. Does Sense use a different weather application?
3. Has anybody else had this issue?
Any help would be appreciated. I use the weather app all the time throughout the year, and would like to try using the Windows default screen for a change.
OK, for other people that are in the dark ages and still using WM 6.5.x like me, I figured this out. I was using "Home Screen Customizer" to change a few things around on my Today screen. When you tap the weather on the Today screen it just updates. I had to open "Home Screen Customizer", go to "weather", choose "Edit", and type in my location. Don't forget to hit "Search" after you type in your location, and go through the selection procedure for "Home Screen Customizer" before you save and exit. In other words, don't just exit without checking the softkeys at the bottom of the screen to make sure you've selected the city.
