The ALLTEL "ORIGINAL" {bone stock, unmolested NO GPS) ROM, is here http://www.htc.com/us/FAQ_Detail.aspx?p_id=63&act=sd (looks like they updated the whole Website, as my old link doesnt work now...)
REMEMBER, THIS IS THE "FACTORY STOCK" SHIPPED ON DEVICE ROM, NOT ONE WITH ANY THING LIKE GPS OR ANYTHING & has been out for quite a while. THIS SETS PHONE BACK TO AS IF JUST OUT OF THE ORIGNAL PACKAGE STATE.
The new one for Sprint is on that site too.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. Now I can start over from the beginning.

Thank you sir. I have succombed to the mistake of flashing my alltel ROM with the sprint one (3.5) from HTC's website, and letting the Sprint monster go too far and install all this proprietary crap that is keeping me from doing anything with my phone!
And have been spending most of this night rummaging through the forums hearing things about GetSPC, changing the PRL's, and only being able to fix the problem by calling an Alltel rep...
Hopefully this will get me back to a clean slate.
Thanks man.

Where did the ROM files go?

Thanks to this wonderful forum and the smart guys here I have successfully flashed my Cingular 8525 to the newest stock HTC ROM. No problems, no worries, no questions with that.
But along the way I was having problems downloading the ROM from (I think) Rapidshare and I somehow came across a beautiful page that had all the applicable ROMS for this phone posted in one nice easy place. Had Cingular ROMs, HTC ROMs, different versions, etc. I thought I saved the URL, but didn't. And of course now I can't find that page to save my life.
And yes I have searched, high and low, both here and at HTC. I even went through my browser cache trying to figure out where that page was. But alas, no joy.
If anyone knows what page I am talking about, please post the URL for me. Thanks in advance!

MS forced XDA to STOP hosting the ROM's. They are mostly RapidShare Now. The list is still in the Wiki http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Hermes
Just another reason for me to dislike MS...
Anyway, thank you for the info.

Call for Rogers customers with Hermes... Dump your radio for the good of communtiy!

well you guys have the newest radio and the only way for us to get are hands on it is for you to dump it off of your phone... the instructions are easy and in the wiki so please help the Xda hermes forum out and dump your radio!!!
You have radio version 1.42.00.00 we do not since we don not have anyway to download that radio since rogers or htc do not offer support/downloads for it yet...
I wish you posted a few days ago. I just got my TyTn, but already reflashed everything. I'll spread the word though, I work for Rogers and know a few people with a TyTn
Will ROGERS be posting any of the updates for the radio and also the settings for internet/mms?
I also have a ROGERS account in addition to my US T-mobile account (since I spend over 10 months in the US).
I have the Softbank version of the TyTN.

welp rogers as of yet has not posted anything and it normally takes about a month for them to set up support for it. guessing the phone came out about a week ago we have a little time to wait before they post and service rom for it... SO PLEASE ROGERS CUSTOMERS BEFORE YOU FLASH YOUR YOUR RADIO DUMP THE RADIO FIRST...
I doubt it. They usually only post updates, not current. You could talk to Rogers tech support (1-866-931-DATA)and see if they're of any help, otherwise i'm sure some Rogers people will get the Radio up soon enough. Keep an eye on HowardForums, there's a few guys in Toronto on there that may dump the ROM. Also keep an eye on https://www.shoprogers.com/web_auth/downloads.asp?product=Wireless
That's where Rogers would post downloads if they became available.

did you flash your ROM and Radio or just a OS.nb only rom??? check and see what radio is on your phone if you flashed one of the roms on this forum you probably still have radio 1.42.00.00!!!!!!!!
okay, but hold my hand....
I flashed my ROm , but not the radio, it's still 1.42.
How do I dump it painlessly?
I quickly skimmed the wiki and didn't get a quick answer...
that must be Nick. Alex here. I thought you'd be able to help!
i have 1.41
I assumed Rogers would be using some outdated crap, so I flashed everything with the newest i could find. apperently that was a mistake! lol

Is this a Trinity ROM or Hermes? I want my internal GPS to work!!

Custom ROM update for my XV6800?

Note: I've done a lot of searching on these forums but there is a TON of information, so I just want to get the 'simple' (ha!) explanation of exactly what to do/read since I am a newbie when it comes to using customer ROMS.
I have a 2-month old Verizon XV6800. I am not pleased with the performance, nor with not having WM 6.1, GPS, and other things. That is why I am interested in doing a custom ROM.
Therefore, can someone give me the thread and/or info on exactly what I need and the procedure to FLASH a custom ROM to my XV6800? I've seen a lot of items regarding Sprint and others, but I want the instructions for doing this with the XV6800. There seems to be a lot of pieces I need to do, and I am curious exactly what I will end up with.
Again, this may already have been explained completely in another thread, so maybe I just need to be pointed there. However, I would really be happy if it relates directly to the XV6800.
Thanks! Any info appreciated.

Current Config:
XV6800 (Stock)
WM 6.0
ROM 2.09.605.8

Nice guy - for folks who have yet to upgrade, there is definitely too much information out there, making it difficult for some to truly find what they need to do. Its not about not reading - its about sifting through all the crap that you can read.
OP - check out the titan wiki thread:

Its a good starting point.

Well I will have to stand firm on this topic. There was a thread specifically created for newcomers to read. It's stickied and says "NEED HELP?? LOOKING FOR GUIDES?? NEW?? Read the XDA-Wiki for the Titan before posting" If you can't navigate yourself that far into this forum then chances are you don't need to even consider flashing your phone at this point. Yes there is tons of info to sift thru but it don't get much easier than that thread shows. Problem is, most people dont want to take the effort it takes to look first. It's easier to create a thread and ask where to look even though the developers have taken TONS of time to build guides and wiki pages to avoid the standard everyday questions.

Ever notice how the stickies are never bold, but new posts are? Kind of pulls your eyes away from the top.
Ya I noticed. You ever notice when you don't take time to read first you find yourself asking questions that have been answered numerous times?
Well, trust me, I took time to read - pulled a lot of stuff into my Evernote file just to have it. But again, with so much info around, and the fact that you are messing around with the firmware of your phone (and can maybe brick it!) I'd rather ask to be sure before I start doing anything. Some of the info was 'general' in nature, and I wanted to make sure what I was reading was XV6800 specific (or at least as specific as possible).
OK, another question: I know there is a new Verizon XV6800 firmware update coming out (soon hopefully?) - if you were me, would you wait for this new update? Or go ahead and flash to one in here? It seems that dcd's updates are better and faster - at least from what I read.
Finally, is there any specific ROM that works better for the XV6800?

use dcd 3.2.5 and radio 3.42.30... that would be the most current configuration
and no I don't think waiting will be worth it....once you start flashing your phone you will end up like the rest of us who are known to flash multiple times a week or even a day trying new stuff....so if you feel like you're ready then take the plunge
quick notes:
unlock with olipro 2.40 or nuespl 2.47
flash radio via your sd card
flash rom via ruu or sd
Cool, I will try this next week.
BTW, if I have to take the phone back to Verizon for any reason, I can re-flash the original ROM back onto the system, correct?
And finally, what is the 'chance' that I could brick the phone entirely doing this?

Just make sure you go thru the steps as they are laid out.
You will have to run titanrelocker and then flash the OEM ROM and Radio to return

It's Titan Time Now!! (NOT A NOOB HERE) (TweakMan-General Questions Thread Creator)

**THIS IS NOT A NOOB QUESTION, IM NOT ASKING HOW TO INSTALL THIS, OR ANYTHING OF THAT NATURE!! SO PLEASE DON'T BLOW IT OFF LIKE IT'S A STRAIGHT NOOB ?? THAT WILL TAKE DAYS TO EXPLAIN**
Hey guys, Tweak here. Guess what. Just bought a Titan. I've been running my faithful Vogue for the past year, but with my new business opening up, I really need the WifiRouter , which I have to recommend! BUT I NEED YOU HELP!!! PLEASE!!!
I want to use the BuilOS PPCgeeks Kitchen to install a custom ROM on my new Titan (of course) , but I am so caught up in the Vogue world, that I am lost over here in Titan land.
All I need to know is where to find a good ROM , preferably Alltel ROM, but pretty much any ROM , that will upgrade my RADIO version, so I can use the BuildOS ROM's.
I guess you have to upgrade the radio in the Titan, just as you do in the Vogue to use these ROMs, correct?
Also, which build , or what ROM do you recommend me trying out first.
Thanks guys. I really hope you help a long time XDA bud out here.
I have used several of DCD's Titan ROM's and I love them. BTW, I have an Alltel PPC-6800. I just flashed mine again with DCD's newest ROM 3.2.5 and I am using radio 3.42.30, with no problems yet. Good luck and welcome to Titan world.

X2 on that
Are you dead set on using BuildOS from ppcgeeks?
I would use roms based off dcd's kitchen only. ppckitchen doesn't seem nearly as stable as dcd's roms.
I just bought my girlfriend a vogue yesterday and we were upgrading the rom and everything. Theyre basically the same in regards to upgrading
Agree with the majority
I have to agree that the DCD ROMs have treated me the best.
I have tried the ppcgeeks Kitchen and always come back.
haha thats silly. your claim to fame is creating a thread in r&d. had to point it out
but yeah, use DCD's latest, and 3.42.30 radio. you can't go wrong.
Thanks Guys!!!
Hey guys. Thanks for the info. Im gettin ready to try DCD's kitchen right now.
And hey agaus, thats not my ticket to fame. But that is how most people on this site know me is for answering things in that thread. Everyone has clicked it one time or another.
The only reason I mentioned it here is for this reason. If a noob posted a question in here , and has very little knowledge of flashing, most of the time, the thread is completley looked over. I just wanted to make it a point that I wasn't a noob, and that I just needed some guidance here in the titan world.
Also. I miss my Vogue. I loved my Vogue. But the Titan ROCKS! The only thing that actually made me keep it was the ability to use WifiRouter. I run my laptop, my iPod touch, and everything off it. I even created an app to run along side with WifiRouter, that will allow to connect to my PS3.
Get wifirouter if you do not have it.
Thanks guys.

If you were "not a NOOB" then perhaps your first two posts here in "Titan Land" would have been researched prior to posting. I'm sorry to say this, but there is plenty of information about kitchens and w/e else. And most of which is preference to the user. The DCD roms are about the best you'll find here, or anywhere else for that matter. Making more then half of your first post about how much of an un-noob you are doesn't help your case when you ask for help. Just ask it like anybody else would and I'm sure it would be answered. Even if answered before.
Try them both out....PPCGeeks kitchen and DCD......there are a lot of good chefs......try NO2Chem his tools are great and so are his ROMS......Nexvision is great and JD's ROMS which you should know if you came from the Vogue.....try em all and see what YOU like.....that is the best way....
you can always try and step outside the box of dcd and no2chem, and try out JDs rom. he just began working on the titan again about 2 weeks ago, and i think the speed of his rom alone justifies why people should atleast give it a spin.
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=32990
(the latest rom on there labeled 8-4-08 has a defect with reading sd cards. but he fixed it already in his test rom and i think a solid release should be out pretty soon)
but for your radio....why not just flash the radio only via sd? its so much easier. 3.42.50 is out now, seems to be getting a good response

Newbie to flashing - Best ROM for Sprint TouchPro

Howdy Folks,
First, I apologize up front about being such a newbie to flashing phones.
I've been reading through numerous forum threads and was just wondering if someone could point me to one of the best ROMs that I should use? I saw a number of them @ ppcgeeks and on here, including Vetvito's, RSTG, etc....but I wasn't sure which one I should use; there's just too many for me to choose! ;-)
Thank-You very much for any tips, I really appreciate the help!

It is really up to personal preference. If you are looking for speed, I would go for the NRGZ roms (at PPCGeeks). I used to use his stuff in my Raphael and they are blazing fast and stable (comes with the price of extended battery drain though).
MightyRom is also a good choice as well. After that, I returned my wife's TP, so I have not had a chance to play with Vevitto's stuff.
One last one, NFSFan... his roms for the Vogue are fantastic, so you may want to take those for a spin as well.
Like I said, ultimately, it is up to you...
Happy Flashing
Thanks for the tips! I guess I'll just have to try a few and see what I like!
One question that I just thought of.... Are there any that have 'good' battery life? I notice the mention of NRGZ being a little rough on the battery; I travel for work, so I don't believe I could handle anything that hits the battery any harder than the stock ROM. LOL
NFSFAN's latest TP ROM update is by far the best out there.

Thanks, You guys are awesome!
Sorry if this question sounds completely stupid (I'm very computer literate, but not very phone literate): I've been wondering about this - I keep seeing the term "unlocked"; does that mean that once this phone is unlocked that I could use the phone on another carrier (if I have a contract with them of course)? For instance, this is a Sprint HTC Touch Pro, and I have a contract with both Sprint (for this phone) and ATT for another phone (that I really don't like); would it actually be possible to use this Touch Pro with my ATT contract?

no, when you bought your sprint touch pro it was locked..you have to unlock it in order to flash your phone.

Actually, you will not be able to use this device for any GSM carrier (GSM meaning any carrier that uses a SIM card in the phone for it to get service). Sprint is a CDMA network, which means that you will only be able to flash it to another carrier by doing two things: unlocking the device to be able to install carrier specific files (PRL and such) and asking your prospective carrier to put your device's ESN into their database and adding it to your account (linking your MIN and MDS numbers to the phone's ESN).
Unlocking for a GSM device works slightly easier. If you SIM-unlock the device, you can change it from carrier to carrier without even having to tell them that you are using a different device.
On the same note, if you do not unlock the device and try to flash a rom, your will semi-brick the device. And if you flash a rom not intended for that device altogether, you will fully brick it.
Hope this helps.
Thanks to all for the replies! I've successfully updated the ROM on my phone and it looks and runs great! Having a slight problem though, it will no longer connect up with my system (VirtualBox/WinXP Guest). Was working fine before the update, so I'll play around with it and see if I can figure out what has changed.
Thanks again guys, I definitely appreciate it.
