SD card not reading with new battery - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario Accessories

So I recently replaced the battery in my 8125, and my 4gb mini-sd card promptly stopped being read.
It worked before, and now it doesn't - the device does not even recognize that it is inserted.
I don't have a clue why, or how to even begin fixing it.
Anyone?~

microSD card beware!

Had to return my 3125 because the microSD cards would become corrupt for no reason. This happened twice. Thank goodness I was able to return the microSD cards as defective. This is what happened: Folders/Files would disappear out of the blue. No programs running, no nothing. Listening to music thru my Motorola Bluetooth transceiver(A2DP is very cool). Shut everything down. A couple hours later, Music folder invisible. It's still there, you just can't see it or access it. Take the card to my PC and it does not recognize the microSD card anymore. Hangs everything up. So, from my phone I delete everything from the microSD card. Check the Properties and it shows there is still a gb of data on the card. Now I'm just pissed, so everything goes back to the store. I still had a few days on Cingular's 30 day return policy (Cingular is great). I read a few other threads where people were havng the same issue. Buyer beware. [Applied the A2DP hack to my 2125 (which is a better phone - better reception, easier to use with one hand, ect...) works great - see http://richtech.wordpress.com/2006/05/11/go-wireless-on-your-cingular-2125/
for instructions. I did NOT upgrade my ROM before performing the modification. I still have ROM version 1.0.9.0 and everything works fine.
could be a microsd card problem
would you please post you microsd make and model?
i am currently using a transcend 1gb (normal speed)
been using it everyday for music(yeah a2dp is great) photos documents .... etc
all is fine .. the normal speed doesn't lags so much like when it was on my ppc
I was using a Sandisk (normal speed) microSD purchased from a Verizon Wireless retail store.
I lost a folder (Application Data/Home) during the night without touching the phone. Had to send it in, and received a brand new one back. I do NOT have a memory card at all!
I too is using a microSD card of Sandisk but it dosnot has ne problem.
there is a similar post on howard forums. I had this same problem happen to me twice. Both times it was a sandisk 1gb card, but one of them was the ULTRA model. There is something frying SD cards...and it's not based on brand. I have the qtek 8500 and it happened

I have read somewhere on these forums that if u let ur device to charge for more than 3-4 hrs or leave it by accessing gprs for some time then the device gets hot and can fry ur sd cards or ne internal chip.
dude... i am having the same problem as you... the funniest part is that my Micro SD goes corrupt every 3rd after the reset of the phone or i uses the handfree kit.... but i am using a Dopod S300... is it really the card problem or the phone? i am still figuring out.. cause each time i take my phone to the shop the Micro SD will just be back to normal after 1 hour... but i am using only 512mb

SD card unexpectedly removed

i've been using the SGS2 for over a month now with a 8gb sd card inserted without any problems. starting today, every time the phone runs on battery and the lockscreen was active, after unlocking android would report "SD card unexpectedly removed" and then start media scanning the SD card's content.
the card itself seems to be ok. other threads for other phones on xda suggested a formatting of the card would help with the problem - but not in my case.
as it seems to only happen when on battery and not when charging the phone, i suspect a software problem. it's pretty much reproducable on my phone - just a quick lock/unlock triggers the problem.
anyone has a similar experience and knows how to fix the problem? the constant media scanning eats away a lot of battery
I have had the same problem, my 16gb sd card was occasionally coming up as card unmounted after boot up but I could not get it to mount so I would have to take the card out and re-insert, then it would be ok for a few days until this week, then re-inserting did not fix it. I have tried to format the card but the phone just says "formatting" but that goes on for 30-40 minutes with the phone frozen and I have to pull the battery. I have tried to format the card in my laptop but that tells me that the card is locked. I am using a usb card reader which does not have a lock on it.

your problem seems a different from mine tho - i removed and inserted the card multiple times: android can always access & format it without problems, but the "SD card unexpectedly removed" still appears every time i unlock the phone while being on battery. the card then is remounted automatically and scanned.
Exactly the same problem has started happening to my handset in the past couple of days. After playing around with formatting etc. I've noticed that the SD card isn't staying clicked into the holder. I've tried different cards, reinserting but nothing makes a difference - looks like it's going back to Samsung....

I'm pretty sure this is not the same problem that Heldchen is reporting. I believe I have a similar issue and it is completely software related, not physical as you are describing here. SD cards still lock into the slot just fine on my SG2 but I still get the "SC card unexpectedly removed". Does anybody have a solution yet for this?
Exactly the same problem
Mine is as skwirrel states, every time you come out of "hibernation", the SD card has to be re-scanned. There is no issue with the card coming loose or needing to be formatted
Use the search button!!!!!
http://www.google.com/cse?q=SD+card...ub-2900107662879704:fs7umqefhnf&ie=ISO-8859-1 + add galaxy s2 on the end it wont stick in the search for some reason

[Q] MicroSD External Media in Unknown State

Alright guys I need some help... my Thunderbolt keeps saying my sd card is blank and needs to be formatted then it says external media is in an unknown state. I've seen that this has been an issue with past HTC phones but none of the solutions have worked. I have a 16GB Class 4 Sandisk and an 8 GB Class 6 Transcend. They both work on my Win7 PCs and on my old LG Ally Android.
I've tried reformatting them with the Ally, with Windows, with GParted. I've tried changing ROMs (originally had Skyraider Zeus before the issue started) then tried CM7 RC1.
Currently in the process of going back to stock unrooted in case I need to send it back for warranty repair/replacement. Although this is difficulty because it requires a recognizable micro sd. Hboot and Clockwork Recovery only recognize the card about 5% of the time and it seems to be based on luck.
Any suggestions on what the issue is or how to fix it?
Sorted
So I've had (give or take a few minor details) exactly the same problem as you. I hope by now you've sorted it, but just in case you haven't and for others like me looking for the answer, this is what I've found and it's worked me and several others.
Its just a matter of removing the battery! simple, but even though the phone is off you still need to remove the battery and the card. Then insert the card then insert the battery. Its worked for both my cards that previously gave the message.
Hope this helps
The Solution
bucklandnick, perfect thanks!! Tried two SD cards with same results. Simple and does the job!
Be wary of that, if it starts happening frequently, you're going to have to have the phone replaced. My last Bolt started spontaneously saying the card was ejected, and refusing to remount it. Pull battery and card, replace, boot up, reads for a few then ejects. A few times I had to remove it, boot up, shut down, reinsert card, boot up again. it ended up corrupting my card and I damn near lost everything on it. If it happens more than a few times, contact VZW ASAP about getting a replacement, and back that sucker up!

[Q] OG Droid destroying SD card permanently (happened 2x)?

Both me and my friend are using PE 6.5--
Last night I put in my 32gb class4 SDHC and it got eaten. Stopped working. Can't find it in Windows anymore. Seems to be dead. It was brand new taken out of the packaging 20 minutes prior and worked in Windows. I had an existing PE6.5 install, and pulled the 16GB card and installed 32GB one, then boom.
What happened with my friend was eerily similar. I set his OGDroid up with PE6.5 and gave it to him, and then he said the SD card wasn't working and it had been fried, when he replaced with another one it worked.
Do we know what causes this?

(help needed)SD card read error

Thanks for viewing this post.
I have been encountering a weird problem for some weeks. Whenever i reboot my optimus, memory card isn't recognized. No used/free space counter in settings, it's as if it just isn't there. Then, after some time "preparing sd card" appears in the notification center.
But the problem here is it isn't definite when will it appear- it can be after 5 minutes after booting or 7 hours. its just random. had been encountering it in cm7 for some time, thought ics would fix this problem (wiping everything). Worked like this for two days in ics.
Until tomorrow afternoon.
Now it just isn't recognizing it.
That's why i opened up my first thread.
Seems like the sd card read initialize settings are messed up. Used to be A flasher, but flashed my first ROM in two months, two days ago.
Ps: oh, and when it was getting recognized, the size of .androidsecure in root of the sd card wasn't getting analyzed, in windows it was.
Share your similar experiences, thoughts and let's come up with a solution to this one.
I think this is a hardware problem...
I believe by hardware you mean sd card. maybe but it works perfectly in windows pc, as well as Nokia phones.
Maybe the card holder (which, well, holds card in place) is acting up.
A point to be noted- other cards work flawlessly, and my card doesn't works in other phones. So, must probably (!) The memory card is the culprit.
Bought a new one altogether.
