Is it possible to go back from Nicki Project HardSPL ? - Touch Dual, MDA Touch Plus ROM Development

Back to fully original, and how ?
Thank you for the help, in advance.....
Frank

How come you want your niki back to orginal? i would keep HardSpl just incase i wanted to flash again.
On the post itself there should be a bit telling you how to remove it. It is possible though i remember seeing a removal tutorial for my old Wizard.

I want to go back because i will sell it to a friend and he will never try to flash a different ROM.
So i will go back to original just in case for warranty...
Frank

you can turn back to the original ROM, but I don't think you can "remove" the HardSPL.

So just the question ? (no whining...):
I did the HardSPl, and my phone is out of warranty forever ?
Frank

easy, load sspl and then flash a normal SPL.

AP 3.0 Dual for new SPL

here is AP3 version (based on latest Dual) I made that will work properly if you upgraded to new SPL but want to go back to AP3 from the AP4 beta.
(only the kernel needed changes. the rest is the same.)
download:
http://htc-hackers.com/uploads/ap3newspl.zip
IMPORTANT NOTE: this will only work if you ran the AP4 package (prerelease, final (when it comes out) etc.) and your SPL now is version 3.xx.OliNex
if you are unsure about your SPL/bootloader version then check in bootloader/tricolour screen by pressing and holding the camera button (as far as it will go!!) while doing a soft reset - keep the camera pressed until the tricolour screen appears.
Not sure why people would want to go back to AP3 - but I'm sure someone will and this will help them.
Did you have a good time in London?
how safe is it? im thinking about going back to ap dual. I only really like the homescreen. I miss the high res mode in ie
well flashed it back and all went well had no problems

just 2 questions:
- which is latest SPL version?
- in case I haven't, where to download?
thanks.
Does this mean that if I wanted to go back to AP3 I will not get the extra 20MB space back, and I can not install any of the existing athena roms without risk?

my understanding is that the olinex3.xx spl stays with the same available memory .
I and other people tried installing other roms but was unsuccessful and that is why Cmonex had to alter the ap3 to install with SPL3.XX.
I gather it would be possible to alter the other roms to install , but I dont know how to do this

if you want an old rom, Cmonex correct me if im wrong, all you need to do is extract the nbh file and take the os.nb from ap3 or what ever rom you want and it should work. I am not a pro at cooking roms but thats how i got ap4 on my device and i still have spl 1.2
note: i had to mod the os.nb file so it would fit on the old partition jsuk
can we only have the exe that turns off the auto rotation for the screen?
this is my only problem with the prerelease, it is the best rom i ever had.
thanks boys great work.
thanks for the ap3 for the new spl mine is 3.20 olinex, but no thanks, pre ap4 is the best.

here is a easy way to to fix it from self rotating. go to file explorer then windows start menu programs, system, then copy the vue orientation go back to windows then copy the file into start up folder exit the explorer then soft reset

Will there be a way to install AP4 and still go bo back to factory ROMs if and when needed? e.g. for warranty purposes? I know we've had the usual reasons that they do not check the spl at all, etc, etc but is it possible for it to be an option? In vanilla, perhaps?
@ Irus maybe when AP4 is released you give us a tut on how you did it! (That might help make amends.............. )

dear, don't tell people to just go and flash the OS part of AP4 without the new SPL. unless they know how to delete files from the IMGFS to make the OS.nb as small as the original AP3.
your responsibility for making misleading posts where only a small note says what to do to avoid problems
oh and no, you need to do more than just extract the OS.nb, because the old kernel on new SPL will hard reset instead of soft reset.

correct, the partitioning stays the same. one day I will figure out how to do repartitioning at will but until then to get back to an old rom, you will need to change the NK.exe as I said. only the one from AP4 will work - I patched that one to work (x7510 nk.exe would boot and soft reset properly but would have problems with keyboard interrupt handling).
unless someone wants me to patch another nk.exe, but I don't think that it'd be a problem with warranty, they won't really be able to check the nk.exe version (i.e. can only be done manually).

no 20MB, for that you have to downgrade the SPL - there will be a package to do that after AP4 final comes out
by the way there is no risk, just the roms will not be able to do a soft reset (just hard), and other small problems such as RUU won't be able to put your device in bootloader (you can still do it manually of course). unless, of course, the RUU enterbootloader.exe is customized to run an SSPL such as in AP4 package - that's just to be more precise before someone chimes in that they've been able to flash back to AP4 from an unmodified AP3 with new SPL already flashed.

well the AP4 that was released was still beta, so if someone wants to go back to AP3, they can do it right now, no need to wait.
or if the device has a corrupt OS, they can reflash to AP3 with this, then flash whatever else they want. (though that works already with unmodified AP3 but it's a pain in the ass because of the reset loop thanks to the silly customizations)
oh, yeah, we did have a good time there, thanks for asking

Reverting to 1.95 Stock ROM

Hey guys,
With this 1.95 AT&T ROM, just a question:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=439346
- I had the HARD SPL and cooked ROM before this
- I then flashed to this ROM because I wanted to go back to stock for a return.
Is that it then? Am I good? Or do I have to continue to flash the Stock SPL as listed in the HardSPL instructions for reverting to stock?
I'd really appreciate any help guys. I need to know if this ROM 100% puts me back to the way I was before starting with flashing. Or is there something else I have to do?
NOTE: I posted this in the thread for the actual ROM, but because of a lack of activity in that thread, I was afraid of not getting a response. Sorry for any inconvenience.
When I returned my Fuze, I just flashed the stock ROM and left Hard-SPL and didn't get any static. They didn't check the bootloader or anything. YMMV, so you may want to revert back to Stock SPL if you think they would check the bootloader. Personally, I would feel confident with just the stock ROM.
Those clerks don't know chit unless it has to do with the iPhone.
GL
i having the same pro flash and no luck with the radio wish i could get the stock radio back
The stock radio is in the Radio thread. Flash that and you'll be fine. As was said however, you shouldn't even need it as i doubt they'd even check that.
Hey thanks for the replies, guys! That's great.
That will probably work for my return. But, I also have my wife's phone which I'm going to flash back to stock and I just want to make absolutely sure that EVERYTHING is back the way it was when purchased. Also, just for future reference I want to know how to get all components back to normal. Where is that stock radio thread?
Any help on that? What else am I missing?
UPDATE:
It just occurred to me that I should have written down the ROM and radio version numbers before doing the HardSPL and ROM flashes to try out some cooked ROMs.
Anyway, I've got the stock AT&T ROM on there now, but how do I know what radio came with my phone? Is there anything else I should put back on there? I know they won't check but I just want to be thorough.
Thanks!
if in the US it had to be the 1.02.25.32 radio as i dont think it came with any others initially in the US. if u go to the wiki it lists all the stock roms and radios that came with the device.
huh??
So, if I now have that radio and the Original ROM am I all back to stock settings now?
I'm confused though. Because out of the box I did the following:
1. Hard SPL (File called: RaphaelHardSPL-Unsigned_190_1_3)
2. NATF ROM 2.2
...then decided I wanted to go back and did nothing more than flash the stock ROM.
Without flashing back an SPL, how could I have still ended up with everything back to stock?

Did I brick my phone?

Hey All,
I just started working on my phone last night. I installed some 3.xxx radio, and a new ROM that I cooked up. The problem is I did not unlock the phone before I did it, so now I start the phone and it is stuck in a pre-splash screen. Does anyone know where I can get the stock Windows Mobile 6 ROM for it so I can re flash it and then re-cook it? Cause it has OBVIOUS signs that I tweaked it, so it would be hard to explain that it was something "A guy at circuit city" told me to do to get WM6.1. Please help!
Okay I need more specifics. What carrier are you working from?
Stuff
Verizion X6800 went from 2.04 radio to a 3.xxx and wm6 to wm6.1
Just flash your phone with Olipro from microSD card, then u can flash any ROM (exp DCD 3.2.6) also from SD card.

Make it easy on yourself. Flash a Telus or Sprint ROM over to your phone. THis will fix any booboo's. YOU MUST STOP CARRIER CUSTOMIZATIONS from runing. After this is done, reflash with nueSPL 2.47 like you did and then put on a custom ROM.
This is your easiest option.
If you want the hard route put your phone in bootloader mode and tell me line by line what you see. That will tell us at what state you are in if you really want to try to figure out what you did wrong.
Either way, let us know how it turns out.

Its still messed up trying the other suggestions. Does anyone know where I can get the original. WM6 rom so I can try again. Or can I unlock it without it so I can load a ROM....also I don't have an SD card.
Thanks for all the help so far

Failed flash to restore original, any ideas?

Hey guys,
So i tried to restore my fuze to the original ROM, when I flashed the rom before restoring the HardSPL. In my noobiness i read the wrong threads and mistook what they said. The rom was flashed successfully but the phone keeps restarting before it gets to the setup screen. Is there anything I can do to undo this and flash the orginal rom and HardSPL.
Thanks,
-G
there's something like putting the rom files on your sd card and then hitting some buttons which will load that rom onto your phone. it's in the n00b section somewhere.
I checked other posts out and it seems like i got the right files right now, but i'm still having trouble configuring my microsd to flash the spl. I know how to do it for a rom but i'm having trouble getting it right for the spl. Could somebody point me to the right post or post instructions.
Thanks,
-G

HardSPL is not possible via the SD Card flash.
So u had Hardspl and then flashed the original rom afterwards ?
Normally the HardSPL is not gone after a rom flash, it is at a special mem position and can not be overflashed.
If u want to return to the original SPL read here,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=410150
U have to use the RUU from the unsigned SPL and replace the nbh with file from the stock spl. Then normal flashing via PC. It is written in the mentioned thread, read carefully.
BUT, normally ur phone should not restart cont. after flashing no matter what rom u put on. Maybe the flash itself was faulty.
BTW where do u get the original ROM shure it is not a CDMA Rom ?
Did u try Hard reset ?

[problem] Dead T-mobile HD2?

I had Magloader and WP7 in it. As time went by I upgraded to HD7 and never looked back. It's been a while since I have touched XDA and WM6.5.
My assumption is that even with Magloader, you only have to flash your stock ROM and it'll revert back to WM.
Mine won't go on and I suspect that I flashed a Non-Tmobile compatible ROM. Can someone confirm that this is the case? Here's the ROM string: RUU_Leo_HTC_WWE_1.43.405.1_Radio_Signed_15.26.50.0 7U_2.04.50_22_2_Ship.exe
I understand completely that if I messed it up then it's messed up. I just wanna make sure there might be other solutions or something I am missing out.
-Thanks in advance!

Is this a final answer? I need to know if it's bricked and nothing else can be done.
Anyone thinks a shop may be able to recover it back? It won't go on at all..

Sometimes, it´s easier than you think.
You´ve got 2 options to get rid of HSPL. One of those options would be simply described in the original thread of HSPL.exe software. If you would have checked this program a little bit, you would have noticed the very fact that you can select what SPL or HSPL you want to install.
Second, you can flash your stock ROM via SD card method, this will replace HSLP and everything else - this does not work using RUU.exe via USB.

By the looks of the radio installed (2.04.50_22_2), I would say that you did brick your T-mobile phone. Take a look at the following thread for a possible solution to unbrick your phone:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=668347
Hi thanks for the response Lavell. Would MTTY be able to do anything?
The phone doesn't turn on at all, or it seems.
I've never bricked one before so Idk if this is the way it happens.
its gone. dead. it will need JTAGging or a new mainboard.
that thread wont help, the phone wont power on, and that thread requires you can get into bootloader.
that's a really early rom you used, the tmous didnt even exist when that rom shipped.
If you want to get rid of it let me know please!!!
Hey guys, don't mean to hijack the thread but I got the same problem here.
Had WP7 but could not use 2g so I went back to MAGLDR113 and installed the file below:
RUU_Leo_HTC_WWE_1.43.405.1_Radio_Signed_15.26.50.07U_2.04.50_22_2_Ship
It went all the way to 100% but now the phone is dead. Computer makes a sound when I plug in usb but I have tried changing batteries and all but it doesn't work.
Does anyone know in Dallas or areas around how to do that JTAG thing?
There is no proper documentation on how to go back to stock 6.5 Windows or at least I could not find one

At its most basic, its the same for ALL hd2's, ,
1 get the correct stock rom for your region&vendor
2 flash it
thats it.
Sadly lots of times this is shortened to
1 get stock rom
2 flash it
and people just assume they can use any stock rom, and since they usually already have HSPL installed, it allows the flash to start, and tmous phones die.
Yeh think the HSPL installer should of had a TMOUS version either blocking known bricking radio & ROMs or just an on screen message warrning & advising on checking before comencing with flash.
At end of the day it is the users fault for not researching or using a TMOUS rom to be 100% safer !
