best xv6800 rom upgrade - Mogul, XV6800 ROM Development

Most of the roms out there seem to be for Sprint. Can anyone recommend and point me in the right direction for a verizon rom upgrade? Thanks in advance.

....best to start reading. Answers are already present in threads on the first page of this forum..

TyTn os Rom needed

Hi all
can anyone help me to find any rom for htc tytn any no.
thanks in advance everyone
You REALLY need to read the wiki and the threads here, friend.
Since you appear to be a complete noob, you may want to follow MrVanx's guides for upgrading, to the letter: http://www.mrvanx.org/
Move along folks, no Tytn ROMs here...

8525 (hermes) Questions

I have read all the posts the only questions I have now is:
I am looking for validations of someone who updated a Cingular 8525 to a new ROM and everything works? Please tell me to which ROM you updated.
I see a lot of people updating t-mobile and others but I want to make make sure that the ROM I get will work with cingular and will be in english.
Thank you

Another good place is the Wiki; here's the place for all your basic questions about the Hermes/8525. The link to the page of all the ROMs is below:

Thanks
That is what I was looking for.

[Q] should i do it?

first of all hello to everyone, I am new to this site.
i came across this site since i have been searching for ROM developments to my phone.
i see this is a very comprehensive site with ALOT of information and i dont even know where to begin.
So i hope someone nice here will answer a few questions
First of all, is it worth upgrading to another ROM (one of these sticky threads ROM)
I've been looking at the Artemis but again im not sure what to choose.
Also no idea how to upgrade it and if anything goes wrong is it possible to backup the original ROM?
I like to upgrade since im not very fond of the original ROM, also a bit slow from time to time.
I am not a computer noob just very new to this. Hope someone will help or point me in the right direction.
hi there.
I whole heartedly recommend flashing a custom rom to your phone. I only flashed my first rom earlier this year. there are plenty of tutorials here on xda. this really is a great community.
search in the threads for MSkip's guide to flashing your first HD2 rom. Just always remember to read instructions thoroughly.
Roms are down to personal taste but I personally like the Energy series.
good luck.
I was afraid to, but now I'm glad I did (flashed like 5 times now, till found the ROM for me) Just remember to read all the ROM info and instructions carefully and for the love of God, have the proper Radio version for the ROM OR ELSE YOU WILL BRICK IT!

[Q] New (noob) User Questions about Roms and Flashing HTC HD2

Hi there, please accept my apologies if this topic has been posted (many times) before, but I am having trouble wading through the excellently huge amount of info on XDA-Dev, and am finding myself more confused than informed by the time I have gone through one or two threads Roms.
So, may I ask some very simple questions about what is a Rom, what it does, what information will be specifically interesting for me, what 'Flashing' does, a simple step-by-step ABC of how to 'upgrade' my HTC HD2 with a new ROM to make it work better, and what you may need from me in order to be able to focus my query in the right direction.
Again, apologies if this is a much hacked subject, as I'm certain on such a forum, with the very knowledgable and creative developers it has, you have been approach more than once on this very subject.
Any help is most apprecited.
Oops. Just saw the Sticky for the HTC Q&A forum.
Could you please move this to there? Thanks!
Hey Sir,
What type of HD2 do you have? If you are from the US and have a US T-Mobile phone then read this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=653614
If you have UK version of the phone please read this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=609477

Newbie Question

I'm certain this question has been posted a few thousand times. But I just got an HD2 again. I've been away from this scene for about 10 months. I was here for the beginning of the SD card integration Android when things didn't work well. I'm back with a HD2 I got from a friend. It has windows mobile 6.5. And I don't even know where to began to get Android on this phone. Here's the info that may help me get pointed in the right direction.
OS version 5.2.21913
Manila version 2.5.201814240
Rom version 3.14.531.1
Radio version 2.15.50.14
That's what's on the phone currently. I tried follow a few threads but they all turned out to be a dead end until I change my SPL version. If anyone can at least get me on the right track so I can at least make some progress that would be great.

My SPL is SPL 2.10.000
I need to get it down to 2.08.000.

Can people please stop just saying "the answer is out there", and actually post links to help future readers? Posts like that are as redundant as a duplicate thread. If you don't have anything constructive to say, please don't say anything.

I agree with you on that.
This is what I did to fix my issue so if someone else had the same problem they can hopefully find the right answers.
My issues was having SPL 2.10.000 on my phone.
I needed to install 2.08.000.
All i needed was to download HSPL3 and then follow the apps prompts and when the options for 2.08.000 SPL or 2.08.000 came up.
I chose the 2.08.000 SPL and it changed my SPL to 2.08.000.
That allowed me to follow DFT tutorial for installing android.
Otherwise it wouldn't allow me to progress forward with my old SPL 2.10.000
Here's the links I followed.
For HARDSPL info:

For DFT Android info:

or

Here's a Youtube video showing you the steps to install DFT's android after you have the correct SPL insalled.

Because its easier to point out to look for it then it is to actually do teh work for them and find it.
It will be better for the OP's in the long run if they learn to look and find the information they want/need instead of posting questions and relying on others. As teh OP stated he foudn what he was looking for and probably learned something in process of doing so.
The best way to learn all the processes is to do research and not to simply create a topic every time they want info.

It still does not help the forum in the slightest. If you have nothing constructive to say then you really shouldn't say anything.
Think about this... If it hadn't been for my comment about unhelpful responses, the OP may never have posted his findings, so you could at least think about encouraging them to do that in the future.
Now, if someone finds this thread through a search they'll find some solid information, not just someone saying "search the forum".
I think we want the same thing here - an easy to use forum where people can find answers easily
For NAND Android you need 2.08.HSPL not 2.08.0000
Run HSPL3 and select 2.08.HSPL
Make sure that the RADIO on the phone is 2.08.50.xx or any .50 above.
With regard to your friend's phone, if they want to do the same, then they have to flash the phone with an 2.08 or 2.10 ROM, as this will bring the SPL down to where HSPL can be run. HSPL doesn't work with SPL 3.03 (which comes with the 3.14 ROM).
