Hello everyone! We have some great news regarding Saturn Liberty™ Desktop Mobile.
Over the past few months we have been getting newer bigger and better screens on mobile devices and the old VGA version was not big enough. So after you told us that the application was not working fine, we started the development of the Wide Touchscreen Version, some beta versions were sent, feedback was received and bugs were fixed.
So today we announce the release of the final version of Saturn Liberty™ Desktop Mobile for Wide Touchscreen Devices (WVGA).
We hope you enjoy this new version specially made for those amazing wide screen devices such as the HTC Touch Pro 2, HTC Diamond 2, HTC HD2 and many others.
We also want to remind you that the Saturn Liberty™ Accounts let you access to almost all the benefits from Saturn Liberty™ Desktop if you don’t want to install the application.
You can get your copy of the software at http://mobile.ardcorp.tv using your mobile device.

Links don't work for me so I googled it and their website wouldn't load properly either. I'll try it if I can.
Was able to install.
All the software does is embed PIE and give you access to the services via IE (at least, from what I saw).
It's the equivalent of storing two favorites in your IE favorite directory.
Unless it does something else, I would avoid installing it.

Mostly performance upgrades.
Like enable a faster Internet History Cleaner, speed up the graphics by enable 2Mb on cache, adding missing codec’s or updating the existing codec’s.
And thanks to the Microsoft. Net Compact Framework the whole operating system will be more stable and in some cases more responsive.

Somehow I doubt that. But whatever makes you get software on devices I guess...
The FTP is password protected...
So what exactly does this application do? The website seems to claim you can listen to radio and watch tv but you are claiming it enhances your ppc. This is all quite confusing...

But as any other ARD Corp product we add fixes to the Windows OS and twakes to it will work faster, with our app and overal system
Thats why we recomend installing all the updates and software
Also Liberty Desktop will (once HDTV , DTV and Mobile TV hit the final release) give you more stations/channels that wont be on the website
like some DTV from Fox or Discovery
those are channels for Liberty Desktop Users.
Now as for the fixes on the PPC it will load alilbit more faster and apps that the program uses
Like IE and WMP will run faster because we twake them to work faster so our services will be faster.
Sounds pretty weird. Maybe you could explain a bit what you're tweaking exactly (without giving technical details if you don't want to), as I guess no one wants to be the first to try such an obscur stuff
Caution advised
I'd be very sceptical about installing such an app on my PPC. The site doesn't exactly fill me with confidence that this is a legit product, and you may find it is spyware. If that isn't the case then I apologise, but without an actual feature list...
+1 Sounds like Spyware or even mobile Virus warez....I would probably steer clear. Use ORB or a slingbox for your mobile tv, music and stuff.
lol!
this has been posted a couple of

this is some sort of bull or

Nice! Too bad I have Media Center 2005 or I would love this.
i will try it
i cant get the wmcontroller app to work in WIndows 7 RC'
does anyone knows what to do
I tried to get this potentially great software to work with Vista Premium incl. TV Pack but whenever I start VMC I get an error message 'can't load...' :-(
Any help is most welcome.
what are the limitations of this software, evorgevol?
specifically the following 4:
- what type of connection(s) does it use to connect to VMC/w7MC (wifi only, or bt optional)?
- is it intelligent enough to work with VMC plugin's? (my movies, MCEweather, daemon tools etc)
- is this a complete replacement for an MCE remote - ie, could i remove the IR-transmitter/reciever?
- is it intelligent enough to realise what menu it is in, and filter out un-used options (ie: 'channel change' and 'record' would be removed if in pictures/dvd area)?

It connects over TCP/IP, so it would have to be connected to your local area network.
This is only really a simple program that interacts with the VmcContoller application, so can only do reasonably basic stuff. I have added functionality to so that it can use the MyMovies application metadata, though most of this is still in progress.
It depends on what you use your remote for as to whether this can be a complete replacement. I currently dont have, and have no intentions in the near future of, having a number/keyboard pad. So if you use these a lot, then it probably won't be a full replacement.
I had planned to make the now playing screen a bit more wise about what type of media is playing, and display different icons accordingly, but this has been marked as more a of a 'nice to have' in the application which i might work on in the future, but have other things I'd rather get working first.
Hope that answers some of your queries...
evorgevol
indeed they all are 'nice-ities', and it wont stop me considering playing with your app.
thanks for answers
Unfortunately, the media center network controller software can not be installed on a Vista X64 pc. I would really like to use this app on my mobile device!

Man this is absolutely awesome!!!
I don't have a MS MediaCenter solution but MythTV, so I wanted to do the same app like you did but for MythTV quite a while.... I already gave up in searching a usable GUI framework like your Fluidity and started writing my own (Which took basically up all my time so far - that's why there is not even an app yet ... But your solution kicks the living sh**t out my little approach.
Is it ok if I borrow up the framework and perhaps some junks of code from your app??? I don't think I'd get it done better if I would try myself, so it would be nice if I wouldn't have to reinvent the wheel. I will of course list you in the credits page of the app.
I spend some hours browsing through your code and I think I got almost through in understanding how the controls basically work. The only thing I miss is the complete overview of how the binding to the actual data is done. The idea with the Templates for the single Items is pretty neat and makes it extremly flexible!

Thanks for reminding me... I forgot to give the original author credit!!! The control framework I use on TouchRC is called Fluid controls, and it's on codeplex here.
I will update my codeplex to give him the credit he deserves, I certainly wouldnt have been able to do any of my app without it!!
Just for thought though, if you create a TCP/IP server for your app, and use the same receive commands as VmcController, then you should just be able to use my app entirely! Or, if you do make it different, and you want me to, I can add your commands to my app too, so that the user would be able to control both windows and myth from the same application!
Thanks,

Can you load up the http server for vmc? (ie, on a diff computer, go to http://hostpc:40510) and see if that works? if it doesn't, then it probably means that VmcController isn't working properly. If this is the case, then revert to the codeplex site of VmcController to ask for help.
Thanks,

Ah, I saw the codeplex page but I somehow thought you guys were the same
Thanks a lot for the offer, but I plan to build a 'richer' remote client for MythTV. Means, besides a remote control function I want to be able to browse the Program Guide, Recordings, Movies, Music, Pictures on the phone and select them to play on the PC/TV.
And I have some other ideas which would be pretty neat, but for now I am already happy if I get the above items finished. (technically thats usually no prob, but once you solved all the tiny little problems and know how to code the whole thing it often gets boring )

Hey evorgevol,

I now have the basic server + client API done so far for my project. I hope I'll reach the alpha state up to your level within the next 1 or 2 months... Then it should really go quick...

I've been stupidly busy recently, so haven't had any chance to work on it for a while. I'm hoping that will change next month. I have made some minor updates to it (but not checked it in), but won't be making another release for a couple of weeks yet. Hopefully soon though!!! How's yours coming along?

This program looks great!
Will there be any prepackaged maps for download? For Example, Canada, New York, London, Paris, France?
Great Tool, I like it really.
But some time the PC-Tool crash. After the next crash I will post the message.
@Maedhros
I think this is not easy, because the file for a whole country with every zoom level is a fat file (many GB great).
@NaviComputer
A great feature is a map update over the Smartphone (3G, WLAN, ...), or a auto download for missing tiles.
looks finger friendly... thanks for this
crash all the time...
Unfortunately the desktop software doesn't even want to start on Windows 7 x64:-( The process starts up, but UI never shows up:-(
P.S. Be careful with Google maps, caching their maps is against user agreement. Microsoft, however, allows it to some extend (though you have to get a Virtual Earth dev. license).
Very nice job, thanks for the hard work!
Hi,
here idea for a new feature.
A merge feature for the PC-Tool. So it is easy to download some segments and merge to one layer. I think this is not a great problem for the sqlite-DB that you are using as single file store, or?

I have downloaded maps of several European cities such as Rome, Valencia, Hamburg, Cannes,... all about 5-10MB. I usually use zoomlevels 10-15 for cities. Anyway, downloading your own maps only takes a few minutes (if you have broadband internet connection)

Thanks for that idea. Indeed I will put that on my todo list. The PC Tool will need some work to be done anyway (also stability issues ...)
'NO dataplan needed'
That sounds great!

THanks
The PC Tool isn't working on x64 Windows 7 installations. As mentioned before the process starts but somehow fails to initialize the user interface.
Thanks
Same as Terracrosser but according to the description and comments looks WAY BETTER and maybe even faster to download the maps. Good work
issues with x64 Windows 7 installations
The PC Tool isn't working on x64 Windows 7 installations. The UI never showed up and the CPU goes 100%. Otherwise the concept looks great.
I can confirm the win7 x64 problem tried running with all admin rights on and in xp and vista compatability modes. always uses 13% of my corei7 920 and about 28Meg ram.
I can also confirm the problem with Windows 7 x64 - the process starts, no program UI loads, and the navimapper process loads a single core to maximum.
A Help file will be great.
Nice looking application....
BUT..............
On my XDA orbit (QVGA wm6.1) the buttons look a little squashed... Also so few options!!!! would love to seem more, such as the ability to change coordinates to a user one or distance from Kilometers to miles and vice versa. And may be the ability to specify the gps port.
Also the pc app is a little slow and the PPC apps doesn't see the maps when downloaded and transfered to device(for me at least)

it is worth to try, bause i am working with a lot of IPcam stuff for hospitals on child stations. Will report back here.
I was looking for something like this a while back, will give it a try as it should save taking a web-cam away on business.
Will try out and let you know. First thing, would prefer cab install option if possible I know there are client drivers needed for windows side too I guess).
Noticed that the video overlay for the camera does not go when the program is closed. So far I've not been able to connect, but this is probably due to my network config at the moment (so will retry later).

I think you connect via the webcam driver settings. i.e. VLC
Media -> Open Capture Device
Select Video device name - it should be in the list
Configure - Will open if the device is present and you should be able to press connect. You might see it pop up a message on your device when you do (too quick to read - i guess connecting etc).
Hopefully you'll get the images coming through (I get coloured striped display but that is probably due to the network I'm currently on has proxies etc).
I tried to use it on my HTC HD2 running Artemis 58 with radio 2.15......
I cannot seem to connect it to my computer via WiFi. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks in advance for the help.

I use it a very long time now for parents who's childs are in a hospital. We have installed some axis ptz cams (4x) in a hospital near my home city (~ 20 KM). We advise this to the parents for the mobile device or via a website on the PC. I have informed rccolonel some time ago to have a special version, but i think he is no longer online or busy with android. So i hope he will read this .
BTW:
in my free time i am working in a special community for this kind of stuff (paper, color pens, toys, hospital clowns, and...and...and...).

I have informed rccolonel some time ago to have a special version, but i think he is no longer online or busy with android. So i hope he will read this .
BTW:
in my free time i am working in a special community for this kind of stuff (paper, color pens, toys, hospital clowns, and...and...and...).
BTW 2:
follow this link and you can download the latest beta from rc camera

rc-camera differs to this app since it's for using an ip-camera and the phone as a monitor, where this one attempts to use the phone's camera as the web-cam. I like the idea, but so far it doesn't work the way I've tried it (clearly it's not trivial thing to code).
BTW:
Well (to be slightly off topic here) I'll let you know if I get on with an Android app I have planned which will be suitable for children reading, might end up being of use. Can't get a better cause than that to be involved with!
cant seem to get it working
i installed the cab and that automatically installed it on my phone (omnia i900) when i open the app on my phone it displays the camera, but when i tap the "start" button it kinda freezes, the little rotating icon ippear and its like "thinking" but it never really conects, right now am using "mobiola web camera" and it does work but i dont like the output quality of it, the resolution and quality es too low, so i tought id try this put, but nope, nothing.
could i be doing something worong?... oh by the way, am using this on windows 7 x64.
Edit: aparently i got it working.

i just saw an update on my prime for adobe flash player. i always check the description but i figured it would just be bug fixes. this is what the changelog says on the market
This update to Adobe Flash Player 11 includes compatibility with Android 4 supported devices, performance improvements and bug fixes related to security and stability. The complete set of release notes can be found at: http://adobe.ly/s16mAX.
i checked the update date to see if i was just late to the party. it shows feb 15th. if you go to the market on pc, itll show jan 16th though.
maybe this will help out with flash in chrome beta since its now officially supporting 4.0? i have not tested this yet, literally saw this moments ago and thought to share
I think I saw that adobe literally came out and said specifically that flash was not and would not be supported with chrome beta for android 4.0. I may have misunderstood. Quite frankly I hope I did misunderstand because day don't make no sense to me at all.
sent from my tricked out Infuse 4G or Transformer Prime...
Chrome is still not supported. Adobe said it will never be supported, thus Chrome on android for the next few years, is a dead browser.
You forget, flash on android will no longer be officially supported either. Time to stop making fun of the iCrowds dead product too.

WRONG.
Adobe is going to stop supporting flash for mobile devices after Android 4, so EVERY browser will probably lose flash in the coming versions of Android.
Not having flash in Chrome for Android makes sense. Why would they invest the time/money on a feature that's on its way out anyways?
http://blogs.adobe.com/conversations/2011/11/flash-focus.html
Adobe's own words.
"We will no longer continue to develop Flash Player in the browser to work with new mobile device configurations (chipset, browser, OS version, etc.) following the upcoming release of Flash Player 11.1 for Android and BlackBerry PlayBook. We will of course continue to provide critical bug fixes and security updates for existing device configurations"
http://www.pocket-lint.com/news/43152/flash-for-android-4-end-2011-no-flash-for-android-5
"Adobe will release one more version of the Flash Player for mobile browsing, which will provide support for Android 4.0, and one more release of the Flash Linux Porting Kit - both expected to be released before the end of this year," a company spokesperson told us."
"Adobe's statements however, also mean that future updates to the Google Android OS - Android 5.0, for example - won't be getting Flash support:
"After that time, Adobe will continue to provide critical bug fixes and security updates," the company added."

The majority of content is still Flash. HTML5 will lag for years. Chrome on Android was DOA because of lack of Flash, period.
Good riddance to bad rubbish.
Flash is ****ing garbage. As a developer, I could list them for you, but who cares as it is dying off!!!!
Bring on HTML 5.
Moving away from flash is fine, heck I welcome it; just need a major player to dump support for it so that the internet starts to actually move away from it. If Microsoft said that it would dump flash from IE, we'd have a sure fire winner right there.

Unfortunately a lot of stuff is still based on flash and on a tablet I use the desktop useragent which means any browser that doesn't have flash support doesn't have a place in my app drawer. Everyone complains about it, even websites like Android Central complain about it yet they still use it. Maybe if they would actually start using something else Flash would die. Until that happens Flash is a necessary part of a browser and any browser that doesn't have it is lacking even if it is made by the almighty Google. The mere fact that Flash will continue on desktop means that there will ALWAYS be a need for it on a tablet or a phone because people browse the same internet on a tablet or phone as they do on their home computers.

You're right, bring on HTML5...but a lot of news sites, facebook and other sites use flash players or embed youtube to display video content. Also: Using Flash you can use high quality h264 codec's, and this codec can not be used in HTML5 in most browsers, so you're stuck with higher bandwidth/lower quality video's then in Flash.
Thus...at the moment, I really need flash support in my browser.
yeah there are a handful of sites that use html5 video and to be honest it looks sub-par compared to the same video loaded in flash.... just go to a site using ipad useragent then go to the same site using desktop, no contest. This is main reason i don't use chrome for android.
I haven't been using Chrome as well, but I'm holding onto it. I set up my vacation in Chrome on a trial run and I loved how well it responded to mobile versions of websites such as Expedia. Very zippy.
But no desktop user agent doesn't make it a winner in my book.
Who wants to open another browser just to watch an embedded video? to bad too since chrome for android is very nice.
I hope the internet catches up.. If adobe does not want to support mobile devices then they should retire flash all together.

You can't be much of a web developer with this attitude....
HTML5 is the future, but it is nowhere near ready for prime time yet. How do you deliver videos with variable bitrates? How do you deliver videos with content protection? YOU CAN'T. There is no support for these CRUCIAL features in any of the HTML5 standards. On top of this, even the CURRENT "standard" has no definition for video codecs, and there is no single codec available that will make your videos playable in all browsers, since they are all doing their own thing.
If you want any of..
- Cross platform video
- Video that will be able to play on low-bandwidth mobile AND high-bandwidth desktop
- Video that has copyright protections. Yes I hate them as much as the next guy, but it is a simple fact that a lot of publishers will not allow content without copyright protections.
.. then you currently HAVE NO CHOICE but to use flash.
All these people trying to get rid of flash today, are putting the cart before the horse. Chrome on Android *is* going to be a non-event if it doesn't support flash because 3/4 of the web nowadays has video content that needs one or more of the above capabilities. Hell, even Google's own embedded YouTube videos will not play in browsers without flash! How dumb can you get here. They could AT LEAST be linking off to the external YouTube player for these videos.
Google needs to make the Chrome plugin API compatible with the stock Android plugin API, to get them over this hoop for the next year or so while HTML5 fills all these gaps it needs to fill before developers can move to it.
It's no developers fault that they wouldn't agree to have a single codec, it's just our job to live with it .
The bitrates and copy protection are the best points you put forward, although everyone I've seen make a stink about it both, didn't choose flash: they
chose Silverlight for their products.
Your "Cross platform" solution also tends to omit whatever platforms they feel like or offer significant issues with platforms they try to support. Enough so that for non-Windows users, no flash can often be a serious selling point for a web site versus it's competitors.

I dont care if flash dies... But atm many many sites i use (starcraft 2 streams for example) require flash. So i need it.
If flash is soo bad and aweful why is it all over the net? I dont care about the codec behind the videos i watch, i couldnt care less I'm all for unification and making one codec as a standard so everyone can be happy... But i just want it to work. Without issues. On all my pages. Thats all i'm asking. Atm flash is doing that on my prime pretty well. So i'm fine with it. I'm fine with it when it makes room for something else that works equal or better.
Only thing the devs should try to prevent: Content that cant be used by people that want it to use but cant because of some ****ty codec or because of some company fooling around like a 4 year old.
Introduction
CoPilot is an application designed to manage all information about your car. You can record and keep refueling and information about your avarage consumption, prices of fuel and visited petrol stations. Records of upkeep will help you track information about what everything on the car repaired, when and price.
CoPilot also allows you to record videos of your trip. This can help solve some complicated situations or accidents . The video is automatically saved position so you can see where and through which route the video was acquired. You can also take individual photos.
CoPilot is also designed to communicate with OBD module, through which it can read information about the car from its control unit. All data are recorded and saved during the ride. CoPilot can also be controlled by voice. The guidelines as start recording , photographing or add a new refueling is possible to do so while driving just using dictation application information.
Manage your maintenance and add reminders for technical inspection or insurance. You can enter reminders that are bound with the odometer and you will be notified in advance. You can also enter reminders, which are bound with date, such as technical inspection or extension of your liability insurance.
The web interface allows you to access the data via a web browser. Just connect a mobile device to WiFi network and enter into your browser address that was generated by CoPilot. Then you enter this adress into your browser and you get a simple interface where you can view the data from the application.

Version 1.0.3.5 is available
Currently there is a new version of CoPilot app. And what new offers? Better evaluation of the speed from a GPS sensor, which enables better use the application without connected OBD module. Than has been improved upload of large files, so you can upload videos on SkyDrive around one gigabyte of size. Unfortunately, this can not be done in the background. When uploading is therefore necessary to have application running on foreground. This is a limitation of the Windows Phone platform, and it can not be otherwise resolved.
Change log for this verison:
Code:
[feature] better speed measuring throught GPS
[new] instructions for using the OBD and where to buy it
[fixed] fixed host resolving
[fixed] fixed large files upload
I have to admit, this looks very cool! Can you, for us that aren't familiar with how a car communicates with the phone, explain what cars this will be compatible with and what it takes to connect?
dude! you steal copyrighted name CoPilot?
http://windowsphone.com/s?appId=ec860657-f89d-4740-866b-97c44b49a20c
You can't copyright a name, so I assume you meant Trademarked. If it is trademarked, you may need to rename your app or it will be blocked from the store.
Reaction on questions and app name
Hello,
I apologize for writing so late, but I was outside. I will try to reply to all responses.
Regarding the application name.

When I started writing the application I did not know about CoPilot GPS at all. I was coming out of it that my app is a "the second pilot" which is a "co-pilot" but the dash is not like for me. Anyway, this is nothing against CoPilot GPS and certainly I did not want steal anything. There is no problem to rename application. I wrote them an email, but so far nobody response.
Regarding to connectivity.

It is possbile with OBD module (10 - 20 $) and OBD connector contains 99% of the cars after 1995. With the application communicates via BT and allows you to read information that will provide a car. That depends on the type and year of manufacture. However, most of the cars is the ability to provide speed, rpm, load, temperature and engine oil.
I hope I answered to all.
Sincerely,
Stanislav Hacker

and I tried it with many apps, eg.:
Diagnose your car
OBD Auto Doctor
OBD Info-san!
and Nyoom (only for fun )
On the movies I tried with Nokia Lumia 820, but now I have Lumia 1520 and all working great too

Yes it is exactly this module I know of only one application from videos, however I use to diagnose CarDash that it also capable enough. Anyway CoPilot is not a diagnostic tool but mainly a tool for recording and presenting data .
CoPilot WebInterface
I have taken up a few flies, and I would like to introduce you to work with video on the web interface.
Perhaps you will like it and if you have a suggestion for improvement, I will be very happy.
