3 ROM SPB Benchmarks - Advantage X7500, MDA Ameo ROM Development

Hello to all,
Here is a small contribution to our community, in a form of test od 3 different
WM6 ROMs:
HTC_WWE_2.21.405.2
AP3 Dual by PK
WM6_TMUK_2.35.110.4
All 3 ROMs are fast, and there is no itention to promote any of mentioned ROMs
as the fastest one, nor as the stablest one. Benchmarking is always a
double-edged axe, so use the benchmark results only as - numbers
Testing conditions:
Device: T-Mobile Ameo
- clean ROM install, basic device configuration
- no miniSD, no SIM inserted
- SPB Benchmark(tm) DEVICE install (SPB Benchmark is a trade mark of Spb Software House)
- every ROM tested with 18 tests, 3 times x 15 minutes
Total time for installation, testing and table calculation: 4 h.
Regards,
MDA3__CRO

Thanks for doing those benchmarks. I was in the midst of something similar when I was pulled away by work. Very interesting stuff, and a great contribution to this forum. Now we just need to line up AP4 variants.

thanks for Gr8 info
Hi mate,,,,,
Thats all gr8 information on this post..really wants to appriciate work.......
cheers...
*we should be working.!

Excellent work son, its interesting to see which rom is stronger in which arena.

PDAViet Vs. Fantastic Mobiz

Vote for the best Rom's,
P.S. i respect both developers but i still like one of them more the other it's time for us to share our opinions and help the Flash o'holics persons to choose while am sure no one will stop flashing both for trials
respAct for this thread, I like !
im currently using PDAMobiz b4 cuz of the touchFLO.
If PDAViet integrates this in its next rom, i would definitely change,
I was pdaviet .4s and now fantastic mobiz 2b user... i like much more the second, but the first was more user friendly...
now i'm waiting for 4.0.0.0.5 touch..
I only tried PDAViet roms, but I can only say they are great, almost even better that official roms.

I work so I use just a little bit my S200 during the day and at 17h, I have only 30% of battery remaining
Sorry for my so bad english and thx for your aswers.

It must be the next stage for PDAVIET ROM. Touch on Prophet, be waiting for that news
pdamobiz b4
yesh!!!! never seee touchhhhhhh
I am using viet 4.0.0.0.5, because its very fast through Mobiz.
Mobiz isnt stable and robust yet.. thouchflo is unusuable now..
I've tested both of the ROM and even if the touch one is really nice, it's very slow with a Prohpet G4 (195Mhz) for the moment so I will say.... PDAViet for me
see you, Bap
I would perhaps wait n test the pDAVIET 4.0.0.5 Touch n then write my views would be more just.........
I prefer PDAViet's ROM
I respect both but personnaly PDAViet's 4.0.0.5a ROM is the most stable and smoothest one I've ever tried. Thanks Cloudyfa from Vietnam for your great work.
i have used PDAVIET Roms for a long time and i think it is the best.
Fantastic Mobiz Roms are not fit for my phone and the speed is slow.
but thanks all their effort.
The bluetooth audio quality of PDAmobiz is fantastic (though sometime have activation problem), I am using b4.
thanks everyone on your thoughts, for me am running PDAViet 4.0.0.4SSE version it's too stable and has a long battery life time that lasts for 3 days.
more over i used the dynamic OMAP dynamic CPU scaler option that varies the CPU from 69 upto 247MHZ also reduces battery drain most of the unused times to less than 30 mA.
plus the sound is very clear when making calls, or using skype, the sync is very fast, file browsing is also very fast than all the rom's i've used before.
of course i would love to have the feel of the touch flo, but when using the fantastic mobiz touch version i found that it was useless @ least for me cause i open many other programs and after all the touch menu's are just short cuts for the speed dials and programs, using resco file explorer today plugin may do the same but still HTC interface is the Best.
but if it slows my PDA then i dont want it.
so thanks Fanstic Mobiz Team and PDAViet Team really deserve a night with britney spears
I use b4 rom and I like it cause look like touch
I know it to Slow but I think a litiebit for me
^^

I need a FAST rom

Hi
Have a profhet G4, but i have now tried EVO8, Transfomer 1.0/1.1, Touch IX and Crystal V4.
They all run to slow even with xcpuscalar, and battery time is not good enough for my daily use. (Not using Wi-FI)
So should i try to go back on a WM5 rom ?, or has anyone good experiences with a WM6 rom? Maybe i should try with a clean WM6 rom? (link?)
thanks.
BR. Flemming
If Crystal V4 (Personal Edition) is not fast enough for you, I think you should cook your own ROM, 'cause that's all that left. If you do find a Faster ROM, I'd love to hear about it.

Is it? All this while I thought WM6 (pure ones without TouchFlo and other fancy add-on) should run faster. I don't know cause used WM5 (think it was a very old release) for like 1 day plus then upgraded already.
Just open the Windows folder or settings in an WM5 Rom after you used WM6 and you will see which one runs faster.....you should also compare booting times! oO
In fact: Nearly any WM6 rom is faster than the WM5 ones...try it and you will see!

Well I'm happy that you found Crystal V4 fast. Recently there has been some development in ROM cooking world and consequently the crystal V5 will be even more stable and fast ! Crystal V5 will be a clean ROM with VOIP. The free storage memory will be somewhere around : 46 Mg .
This rom will be released in two to three weeks

I totally agree with you. I was almost abandon my Pocket pC before WM6 make my day again.
In era WM5 I totally refused to reboot due to slow booting time. WM6 safe a day.
Good luck!
i think you can enjoy htc photo album gestures and cube and other gr8 interfaces which wm6 has offered rather than think of speed ,you see there is a difference between a vintage glider(wm5) and a boeing 747 (wm6)and a f-16 fighter aircraft and a chopper , all have their own specific usage advantages and disadvantages ,no one of them will provide you everything at one place. you cant take a ferrari on country rally and if a country rally car comes to ferrari race it won't win .they have their own routes to go into.
WOW!!! hma4, 46MB wud b a treat!! I simply luv the freedom a clean ROM gives
46 MB.. It is really good... As I said before, you are one of the greatest....
serious speed issue
Guys,
I do have a Prophet as well as a Tornado. They seem to be identical in terms of hardware, but the even with the default WM5 roms the Tornado is way faster (windows folder opens in 2-3 seconds while the Prophet takes a well 6-7 seconds).
If you add special features to the Prophet, such as HTC Home, and a couple of other gimmicks, then it can be painfully slow (even with my cpu o/c at 273MHz). I did a hard reset to mine a couple of weeks ago and now I need over 20 seconds to open windows folder. I don't know if it is the rom to blame (I am currently using a PDAViet ver 4.0.0.0WWE) but we have to do something about it! Even the phone features are getting slow
Does everybody confirm that Crystal V4 is the fastest rom around? I have also in mind a TNT Greek rom (since I am Greek). Is that any good in terms of speed?

S200 novice

Hi,
i've just buyed en M600/S200/Prophet on Ebay. It has an WM5 version on it.
I would like to pass it in WM6. I've read the Guides (hard spl + updaterom) but now i don't know which version is the best. I would like for my rom :
- speed
- reliable wifi : SIP
- reliable bluetooth (tomtom)
I'm not so fan for the 3D Touch thing if it slows it down.
So which one are you using ? Is there a poll somewhere ? Any advices ?
Is there anything else I should update
ROM : 2.10.1.30FRE
Date : 2/9/06
Radio : 02.70.20
Protocole : 413.1.03
Rom ext : 2.10.1.111
Version d'opératuer : 13.10.2.111
Thanks
I use Prophet Shadow Vista My Edition. I think it is very fast and I like the Style. TomTom starts in 20s.
If you want a clear rom, use Korand 3.1. This is the basis for a lot of roms.
Check it out...
HaRdy
I have tried many Roms by all the great chefs
It is personal taste, it you want a clean or full flavoured. I prefer full kind myself as the speed difference is not too apparent. Im using varanusvincents diamond 2, its fast, pretty stable and as far as i can tell, bug free. check it out.
Hard SPL and try a few, but be warned, trying and playing is addictive Ha Ha.
Have Fun...
The best advice I think would be to try a few ROMs out, and see which you like best.
VaranusVincent and Dioxda2 are always making new ROMs!
There are some ROM benchmarks here and in the thread referenced.
Thanks for yours answers.
I've installed the Diamond Clean version and it looks OK
Thanks to all developpers who invest themselves !
Another question : is there en optimum speed to overclock the Prophet ? I saw that you overclocked it to 286. The battery doesn't drain off to quickly ?

6 ROM SPB Benchmarks

Hello to all,
After almost 5 months, again a small contribution to our community, in a form of test od 6 different ROMs, 3x WM6 ROMs + 3x WM6.1 ROMs:
HTC_WWE_2.21.405.2
AP3 Dual by PK
WM6_TMUK_2.35.110.4
AP4 SPL 1.2 by Irus
Irus' SPL1.2 0 MB pp
MiChY's 2.14 light
3 new WM 6.1 ROMs are faster, and there is no itention to promote any of mentioned ROMs as the fastest one, or as the stablest one. Benchmarking is always a double-edged axe, so use the benchmark results only as - numbers
Testing conditions:
Device: T-Mobile Ameo
- clean ROM install, basic device configuration
- no miniSD, no SIM inserted
- SPB Benchmark(tm) DEVICE install (SPB Benchmark is a trade mark of Spb Software House)
- every ROM tested with 18 tests, 3 times x 15 minutes
Total time for installation, testing and table calculation: 6 h.

What is deviance among 3 performed tests?
(realy for statistics there need to be more than 3...)

Yes, results are very similar, because a half of SPB Benchmarks in Main Test is a hardware dependent.
Just for an exemplar, here is a link for a previous 3 ROM SPB Benchmarks, which contain data about all of 3 series of testing and average results:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=385810
Just because of results table size, this time I didn't include results for 3 series of testing, only average results.
If you are familiar with SPB Benchamrk, you will know that every single test is
performed 13 times as internal benchmark process. I made 3 series of 18
different tests (it took over 10 minutes per serie), every of it is repeated 13 times
as a way of how SPB Benchmark is performed. Just 1 (one) SPB Main Benchmark Test
is sufficient for a fair result, but I made 3, just for any case.
If you want a very big result table, please, let me know, and I will post it here.

Yes, it is AP4 VANILLA 4 SPL 1.2 by Irus, nbh file release date is 05/21/08
IMHO and very subjective, I tried it in a effort to find ROM without message flaw I found in the newest ROMs (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2605629#post2605629). I found it a very slow in opening applications and useless for me. But on SPB Benchmarks this ROM is slightly faster (have better results) than others.
It will be great if some mortscript guru will define a test suite script for windows mobile devices... based on REAL LIFE usage!
EG. opening office test file, opening a website, starting opera, finding a string, tom tom starting, java speed....
Real life usage tests are the best to compare ROM, and may be this is the only realistic way. IF you compare, using SPB benchmarks, DIAMOND overall with BLUEANGEL.... Diamond is rubbish!

I agree with you. SPB Benchmark Main test has a section "Built-in applications",
and it can also test the following:
- Pocket Word document open
- Pocket Internet Explorer HTML load
- Pocket Internet Explorer JPEG load
- File Explorer large folder list
The only problem which may appear is when tested ROM do not contain required component, for exemplar - Pocket Word.
It will take a lot of time (flashing, testing, flashing, result table building etc), but I will try to find time to test a few SPL 1.2 ROMs with mentioned method.

What is the best working rom? ONLY MAY 2010

Not the best looking rom but the rom with best performance and fewest problems.

absolutely properly! FFBOY2009 make great work
of course : novembre5 ROM works fine and its near to zero bugs
for best looking is FFboy's sense beta2 very nice and very stabil
I would recommend arag0n85's Debranded Orange..
You get all the stability of the official rom, but all of the unnecessary rubbish is gone.
I have tried a few of the cooked roms now, but find that none are as good for GPS (using GPSModDriver) and no ActiveSync problems, unlike all the others I have tried.
I use Mobile Shell 3.5.4 and Phone Suite 1.2 (I don't like the current version) The beauty of Phone Suite is that it allows me to have the phone power down at night and start automatically in the morning. A real bonus for battery life.
i've had the novembre5 clean Rom 3 running for a few weeks, and it`s solid.
Huge performance increase and zero crashes or lockups

toshiba 5005.0001.76
i think, the best rom is the official one. i have tried all custom build roms and each of them has some issues. i noticed some problems with graphics in different programs, problems with gps, sound and even if u have 90 mb of ram after restart, you are usually at 50-60 after while anyway and that is same amountof memory as the original one has. i have to say those guys made good job to produce those roms, but i still think the official rom is the most stable one there. i use spb3.5 so i don`t care about bigger buttons so much.
or
i just installed FFBOY`S 6.1 rom and i must admit it looks great, fast, plenty of memory, i didn`t notice any bugs. i`m gonna test it for a while and maybe this one will be my favourite..;-)

FFBOYS beta 2 if you want with manila sense.. very stable too
Novembre5 if you want clean 6.5
