Sprint Music Store on 3.0.4? - Mogul, XV6800 ROM Development

Anyone gotten this working? I have all the files I need (at least I think, I pulled them from a stock Titan), and when I run the music.exe, it loads java and just hangs there. It doesn't freeze the phone, it just doesn't go past the java screen.
I didn't do anything special other than copy and paste, so I guessing I'm missing something. There's a thread over at ppcgeeks and someone claims they got it to load, but it won't play any songs. Has anyone gotten it to work 100% on a custom rom, or does it just not play nice with 6.1?

I have with Colonel's custom rom and a couple of others from VetVito and NexVision. I am not sure if the files are here, but if you search at PPC Geeks for Music Store cab there is one and it has a new version of Jeodek as well as other folders to replace in your windows directory...

Can't get TCPMP and flashvideobundle to work after DCD 2.2.6 ROM

I did the flash of the DCD 2.2.6 and it shows I am now running 2.2.5 so I am not sure what happend there. I also did the radio update so I can use the GPS. Now I have reinstalled everything else I was using with pretty good sucess. Still cant get the cube to work, but I havent spent much time there. I am more bothered I cant get the TCPMP and Flashvideobundle to work. I used to watch youtube vids and such and it worked great. Now when I go to a site like youtube and find a video I want to watch when I click on the video it takes me to another page instead of like before when it would say in a drop down box watch video, something link?(sorry I suffer from CRS), or save video. Anyone know what I need to do to get this going again.
I had the same problem, but it seems to have been resolved in the 2.3.x series. Try upgrading and if you have the same problems, you may have an outdated FlashVideoBundle.
I cant seem to find anything higher than 2.2.6
Well, there were links to roms for 2.3.1, but those have been removed, but there is a kitchen to build your own rom...easier than it sounds.

Thanks silentbenton. I wish I had the time to learn how build my own rom. I can barely spend enough time here to keep my phone running slick. I would love to add the battery meter back in on the dcd rom. I saw the link for the 2.3.2 kitchen, but no rom.
I did finally solve the problem with TCPMP and flashvideo. After numerous installs and uninstalls I finally figured out that after installing TCPMP you need to do the file associations then install the flashvideo bundle. That seemed to get it to work with no problems.
Thanks for all the help.
I really like the DCD kitchen, I don't need a lot of stuff in my rom, but there are some OEMs that I like to install and now I can have it autoinstall my cabs with the UC compatibility. If you are looking for something that is more customized and has most of what you're looking for already installed you might try Nexvision's rom. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=364043
If you would like some assistance building a rom, you can PM and I'll try my best to walk you through some of the steps. It is easier than it sounds
Thanks again silentbenton. I am going to try that ROM now. That is if I can figure out how to install it.
Doh. Just updated to that ROM and it looks cool. I cant seem to get an internet connection. Always gives me some error.
Are you on Sprint or another carrier? You might need to call your provider and have them reprovision your account, I had to at one point.
I can't get it to work on 2.3.2 either. I've tried it with the flash video bundle and with CorePlayer 1.2 and neither will work.
Are you using CorePlayer or TCPMP?
I just turned off the phone and took out the battery like someone suggested. After about 20min fired it up and works great.
Noob question as I migrated from the palm world recently, If I yank the battery, will I lose any any data? I'm running No2Chems latest and have lost Google and Youtube as well.
Edit: well, I yanked the battery and while I lost nothing, my TCPMP and Flashbundle still won't play google or youtube vids...
I've tried TCPMP and CorePlayer. Neither have worked since 2.2.6

My ventures into youtube app.

So we all know that for some reason the youtube app doesnt open after a login, we also know that a simple delete of the youtube.xml in shared preferences lets us once again use youtube...(/data/data/com.google.android.youtube/shared_prefs)
I had a been working on a little script to delete that file every time I closed youtube but realized this would get repetitive. I am wondering is this a B&N problem with the way permissions work and where information is stored...similiar to the inability to run shortcuts. Even if you go in and delete from the .xml file your username information or even delete everything in the file but dont delete the physical file, after trying to open youtube it will once again reset. I have been frustrated by this numerous times...where is that data being stored? Does anyone know...
I can't help other than bumping this, but being able to favorite videos is a big part of my youtube experience and I also find this annoying.
On an unrelated note side loading honeycomb youtube apk is wonderful.
Here is where I fail. I have managed to delve further into the youtube.xml file and figure out what exactly is seeming to cause the problem with permission, but I cannot repackage the apk after editing...because I cant sign it. Any thoughts on a solution to this...also it is possible to extract edit then repackage an apk on the nook itself?
Check out this tool. It handles re-signing the APKs.

I actually came across that tool about 20 minutes before you replied, as an update. I now have youtube where it will allow me to sign in (I do a full quit using task killer) and then restart it with no problems. The problem occurs when I shut down my nook and bring it back...on some shutdowns it just makes me sign in again, others it does the normal process where it does not open up. I dont understand where this thing is storing my permissions or login data, I have erased and looked at most every bit of code that could have anything to do with data storage...maybe it calls some process built in to the nook that I'm missing.
Oh wow...finally got this running on the stook root. I'm having a few friends test it out to make sure I'm not breaking permissions for other things...I'll send out the apk or explain the steps momentarily.
Awesome! Can't wait to try it out. Is this for Froyo or for Nook rooted?
Just for rooted 1.1 though I see no reason it wouldnt work on rooted 1.01 or 1.00...though I'm running into problems. It seems that I wont be able to release an update to the apk but instead will need to include instructions on how to update your own apk which will automatically make it less doable.

ScummVm on Rooted Stock?

Hi everyone,
I have a stock rooted Nook Color (1.2) and I've been struggling trying to get ScummVm working. I downloaded the latest nightly from ScummVm's website, but every time I try to get it installed, it just says "Application Not Installed". I tried a couple of other versions of ScummVm mods, but none of them seem to work.
Am I doing something wrong? Does it not work with stock? Did anyone get ScummVm working? If so, how? I've been hitting my head against the wall for days.
Have you tried this one? http://anddev.at.ua/load/scummvm_svn55436/1-1-0-7
I don't know if it's relevant to your problem, but I've been using these builds for months with no problem.
I have to admit I've never gotten ScummVM completely working, but from what I recall, you need the Scumm android app, an individual plugin for the game you want to play, and then finally some files from the original game. The first two things are available on the market, but the last one (the game files) are harder to come by -- officially you would get them from an original disc of the game.
Let us know if you have any luck!
I have the game files, I'm a bit of an adventure game addict, and I thought the Nook would be the perfect size to play my beloved games on.
@Arbelzapf, Thanks, I'll have to install those and try it. The daily build I loaded from scummvm website doesn't quite like the nook, since I kept getting install errors.
@ponyboy82, I haven't gotten the market versions to install either, then again, they won't work on my phone, and I think they are a little outdated compared to the ones on their website.
Going to be doing some experimenting to see what I can do to get my Sam & Max fix.

[Q] Nabi Tab Interface on the Gtablet

So the Nabi Tablet (http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=12351154) is an underpowered device, but the kids mode interface interests me, as I've got a Gtablet just sitting here, I've downloaded the restore.exe file from the nabitablet website, extracted the apk and installed them on my image of gtabcombover, and all the apk's install fine, however, the kidzmode doesn't launch, it doesn't even give an error. The configuration program seems to work, you can set apps but you can't run the actual interface.
Anyone tested this out? any ideas on how I could test/work this out?
Thanks,

Try changing your build.prop file and attempt to match the one that is in the nabitablet. Might work might not. Its worth a shot.
Did that, no effect on HC, flashed back to Gingerbread, installed the apk's, nothing, edited the prop file, nothing.
Well, not quite nothing, I figured out that on launch, it seems to swap the walpaper, which leads me to believe it's doing "something" but something is also not being triggered, there is a OOBE (out of box experience) apk, but it only installs, it doesn't seem to have a way to launch, dunno if maybe that's the issue.
Shame... I tried the zoodles interface, it's crap. I just want a simple locked down interface for my 3 1/2 year old to use on my gtab.
I too am really interested in the nabi UI. Do you still have the download apk? Looks like the link does not have the nabi anymore.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using xda app-developers app
Sorry to revive a dead thread, but I wanted to give this a try, but I see that Nabi's website has no Restore.exe or firmware and have gone to OTA upates. Might anyone have this file? I assume the FW was included in there somewhere?

Modified APK files are being deleted after reboot

Hello all,
This is my first post on XDA, so I apologize in advance if I'm in the wrong place. I've searched high and low for an answer to this, but all the threads I've come across are at least 5+ years old and don't directly relate to the issue I'm having.
Basically, here's what's going on. I have two app APK files that I have edited to change some of the resources in them. One of them is SwiftKey. I used APKEditor from the Play Store to replace two of the keyboard sounds included to custom ones. After I save the edited APK, I rename it to 'base.apk' and then replaced the 'base.apk' inside of the app's directory with the edited one. After doing this, everything seems to work fine, and the app continues to work normally with the new sounds I've added in.
However, the issue I'm having is that anytime I need to reboot my phone, any apps that I've edited the APK for disappear. After Android starts up, I can see the apps on my home screen for a second, and then they vanish. The folder for the app is still present inside of /data/apps, but the app does not appear under the list of installed apps anymore. I'm wondering if this is maybe because the modified APK isn't being signed right, or if I'm doing something wrong. I made sure the permissions were correct too after I replaced the base.apk file as well.
If there is another (better) way to do this, I am all ears! I'm pretty tech savvy, but I just recently switched from iOS to Android after not using Android for 4-5 years, so things are a bit different now than they were the last time I used Android.
Thank you for your help!
*EDIT- I also should mention that I am rooted, although that may have already been apparent
