This is the original Link to a working TouchFlo (Alpha) I am currently testing on the Athena using VGA 96 DPI and the AP/PK's latest v2.0. I have included a zip folder of selected screen shots. I first found this link outside the forum, then learned that other devices on the forum are already working with it.
The program is installed via two CAB files, one installs Adobe FlashLite, the other is Szabi CubeLauncher. Perform a soft reset after loading. Launching is currently to a 'Home Screen' Start>Programs>CubeLaunch. The home background is a bit suggestive, so if you would like to avoid that image, copy the attached bg.jpg to Program Files>Szabi>CubeLauncher and over write the existing file. It can be any 240x320 jpg you prefer.
When you install the CubeLauncher, you also get a CubeConfig program which lets you customize any of the 5 faces of the 'Cube' which is relally a 5-sided prism or polyhedron. Screen shots of each face are included along with one transitional rotation captured.
TouchFlo has been on of the hottest topics around the forum with nearly every device scrambling to cook it into ROMS. Up to now, cooking was necessary as the base applications from the HTC Touch are dll driven. Since this application is Flash(tm) enabled, there is no need for booting with the dll's.
Launching from the home screen is much like the HTC Touch, with an UPWARDS swipe of the finger from the bottom or middle part of the screen. Sides are rotated forward and back with sideways swipes as you would intuitively expect. You can also open and close the cube with a single stylus poke in the bottom center of the screen. Close from the home screen by touching the lower right signal bar.
The first page is a 6 application program launcher followed by a twelve slot phone contacts photo gallery on page two. Page three is a 6 app media page while page four is primarily for MS Office Apps. Page five is yours to play with.
The developer's web site is in Chinese, but the translation indicates that trials of the demo and feedback are welcomed. You can download the demo at the following Link: Http://rapidshare.com/files/54065589/Szabi-CubeLauncherICON.rar
It is not a finished work (yet) but it is getting close. Please provide your thoughts and interest so the the Project Team can assess wether or not to work on this for our devices. As you will see, we can easily do more with VGA quality backgrounds and icons, but the basics are definitely there.
Kind Regards to the Developer
guau! looks very nice! thanks bro!!!!

Did you try?
I would like if it is compatible with ROM Black Touch AP2
If you need not change the dpi i am all up for it!
would someone be super kind and put on a direct link or something else than rapid share, coz i can't use that from my company
Installed on my X7500 WM6 ITA with 96dpi setting, here they are my considerations:
1. Graphic should be improved with an appropriate resolution of images used to build the interface. (I hope I can do it by maself)
2. Scrolling works well even if touching feedback should be more reactive on striping finger over display
3. Not all the applications link work. I hope I can customize by myself
4. Home screen works fine, images resolution apart.
Nothing I can say about RAM and battery usage...still testing it.

Tested with 128 DPI Settings and it looks and works the same, regardless of the font. Some of the demo apps are not set to the correct file links, however using the CubeConfig module, this is easily corrected. I just went through each screen and tested what worked an what didn't, then ran the CubeConfig and changed the broken links. Again, this is an (Alpha Demo) but it is working!
Bother! Was hoping you would say it didn't work
I really should know better than to install beta software, let alone alpha!
Can I resist trying it......
probably not !
Thanks

Has anyone else noticed that running Pocket Plus 4 on a device with Real VGA loses the icons for the main header sections?
Is there any fix for this? I've tried the simple things like installing icon packs, trying to "change icon" but all that is displayed is an application square with a star in the lower right of it :-/
Anyone any ideas?
For info I'm using a T-Mobile Ameo with PK 3.0, but don't think they're really factors with this...

I've gone back to 192dpi and it's fine again now
Oh well...
but 192dpi resolution is equivalent to qvga, non????????
Pocket Plus 4 works with 96dpi not with 128 dpi. SPB Softwarehouse says it does not support 128 dpi because there are no 340x340 devices.

Well, It is not true. The point is that they do not provide necessary icons in proper size for 128 dpi. I have prepaired those icons and have provided them in some of the threads here. Just browse for my posts in RealVGA or "Post your screen" (or something similar).
tadeusz, your icon files don't work with pocketplus 4.

Yep, I use 3.2. I am sorry. I'll check if it is worthy to go for v.4. If I do then I'll try to prepare new icons for it as well.
I know its an old thread but any news about an icon pack?
Hi All,
I do not use 128 dpi
for 96 dpi:
instal spb pocket plus a 192 dpi, after installation change a 96 dpi,
the dimension of the icons e meters remains the same one.

Good Day.
I like your today screen.
I also have Pocket Plus installed in that way.

The final version is out and it doesn't work with the 96 DPI on the athena. The tabs are missing in the settings list, which isn't a problem but the tabs have no icons on the home screen. This program looks really useful and I am hoping we can find a way to make it work.
Mods please don't move this thread, it is device specific and I believe the issue would be overlooked in the main thread in the general forums.
Working great over here at 96 DPI! I've installed the final version (2.0.0 build 3275) And so far I haven't seen any drawbacks. Works very smooth, animations without hasitation and a few nice new features.

Hi
The tabs can be Replaced in 192 DPI if you using spb weather or phone suite or diary then switch back to 96 DPI, but Home tab you cannot do anything.
Tab settings list still missing in 96 DPI.

Good find however I believe he is ignoring the problems with the 96 DPI. Look at his screen shot the list of tabs are missing. And he has no screen shots of the home plugin, which I thought was a big feature of this application.
Thanks sabes143, I forgot to move the information about 192 DPI in this thread.

I agree. It is completely useless. It is impossible to get the tabs working or showing anything meaningful and impossible to get the other menus to stay on the homepage. I would steer clear.
No joy here either with 2.0. No tabs. Today screen plugin is totally useless without them.
Too bad, there are some pieces of it I like!
I saw this posted in the development forum: Password for dat files that are really zip files: b0fm18zq Maybe this will help make the icons show up on the tabs...
Their forums also note that they don;t support RealVGA - that could be the problem (and if it is, that is really shortsighted on their part)...
same problem here,
mobile shell works fine with RealVGA and the 192 dpi setting
but is pretty useless with 92 or 128 dpi activated.
besides the today plugin not working:
in the spb menu (right softkey by default) the icons of all my custom programs look totally crappy, and next to each icon half of the icon of another program is visible.
I have the same issues, except that on my today screen, there are three other icons appearing next to all the icons.
I don't like having so many gestures to go access my applications. Currently my setup is far better than spb mobile. This is what I have:
1.I have date and time on the task bar so what I can see it everywhere. In addition, I have the big clock on my today screen provided by spb time. This lets be have fuller function than spb mobile.
2. I have spb phone suite on my today screen. This is better than what spb mobile offers because in addition to what spb mobile offers, I also havethe ability to switch on/off bluetooth, wifi etc.
3. I use SBSH weather watch today plugin, which of better than spb mobile's weather program because it shows more info, occupies less space, and has much more comprehensive weather stations for smaller towns.
4. I use ilauncher to launch programs. It is much easier and effortsless to configure and customise the icons for all dpi. I also get the safe mode reset capability.
5. I use today agenda to show my calendar and tasklist on my today screen. This is better than pocket informant IMHO because each item takes only one line, so more items could be shown on less space on today screen.
All items are visible at once on my today screen, without any need to swipe any fingers, which is a fun thing to do for just the first few seconds, but is really annoying after that for me.
Don't know, but even i don't like the way it behaves.
Its quite jerky when it does the so called "Animation" when you open contacts or any sub screen.
Its far better to use spb pocket plus or even resco today plugin and get the basic things you need right on your today screen.
Though, its something good to play around for a few days ... but then eventually it boils down to performance. It the device is not snappy, no matter what you do, it will not satisfy ...
Let's give 'em a call!

Has anybody tried to contact SPB Softwarehouse and gave them a version of the TrueVGA to test it with their software? I would think we are a large community with a voice!
Hey guys,
Thought we should start a wallpaper thread for the Nook... I just posted 413 of them to my Photobucket account...
http://s204.photobucket.com/albums/bb86/911jason/Tablet Wallpaper/?start=all
I recommend Wallpaper Set & Save to improve image quality on all of your Android Wallpapers, it's free!
For anyone wanting to create their own, the size should be 1200x1024.
I recommend World Tour. It doesn't have the sharpest images, but it's pulling pictures from live webcams around the world. I just set it to random and automatic update once an hour. It scales the images properly for the Nook. I've been using it on my G1 practically since I got the phone.
http://www.androlib.com/android.application.org-jraf-android-latoureiffel-ACx.aspx
I use app called Backgrounds, takes photos from flickr and the aspect ratio / scaling seems ok.
I like the HD Rare Black Wallpapers. They show up sharper than most of the other "HD" background/wallpaper apps.
Good stuff. Might want to mention the image requirements. I believe they should be 1200 x 1024.
Nice collection.

Outstanding! Thank you, sir.

SOLVED
Jason, Thanks so much for those beautiful photos you placed in your Photo Bucket for use on our NCs. I wonder if you can figure something out for me. Last week I downloaded about 14 of those photos to my pc and one way or another they made it to my NC. The neat things was, that they showed up in my Wallpaper as well as my photo gallery. Because they were in the wallpaper settings, I didn't have to do anything to them at all to get them on my home screen. They were perfect, full picture, wonderful resolution, and worked on the three home screen setting. I have no idea how I got them into that wallpaper section, darn it!
Since that time, my NC has gone through many restore-to-stock and nooters, etc. Now I'm back to 1.1 and auto-nooter v3. Everything is working well, but I can no longer find your pictures in the wallpaper section, only in the Picture gallery. The ones in the picture gallery are not the correct size and no matter what I do, I can't get them to work for me (I'm not very knowledgeable about Android, as you can probably tell.) Last week, when they were sitting in the wallpaper section, the pre-installed pictures from the Nook Color and even pictures of some of my book covers were also there. Do you have any idea how I might be able to get your pictures back into the wallpaper section? BTW - at the time they were working so beautifully, I was in 1.0.1 auto-nootered. Sorry for the long message, but I'm not having any success. I want them just the way they were last week! They were perfect!
TIA
Sue
nm - I figured out how to get them to my wallpaper. Thanks again,
Sue
So I used the Photobucket app and went into settings, checked hi res download option. Changed search to people in the dropdown. Searched for 911jason. Clicked a wallpaper, open menu click download, when it fails I selected set as wallpaper. Looks perfect on rooted 1.1 stock. Thanks!

Sue (or anyone else for that matter) can you elaborate on what you did to get an image to show up in the wallpapers section? I have a few backgrounds that I bounce in between frequently and would be grateful for a tip!

Let's see if I can this right.
I downloaded the images I wanted from 911Jason's Photobucket and put them on my pc. Then connected my NC using the USB cable. I then navigated to the NC <MyNookColor> and then to <MyFiles> and then to <Wallpapers>. I did a drag and drop of the pictures I wanted into the Wallpapers Folder. FWIW - I first tried using "send to" from drop down menu and it didn't take. The drag and drop worked fine. (911Jason's pictures were perfect for me because they are the correct size and I don't know how to use the Wallpaper apps yet.)
Hope this helps.
Sue
Thanks, I'll try that out!
A good place to go scouting for wallpapers is hdrwallpapers.com. Here's my current NC background:
http://www.hdrwallpapers.com/the_tornado-wallpapers.html
--ex
Another good place to go for wallpapers is deviantart.com and search for the resolution you want (1200x1024). A ton of the wallpaper apps rip their images from this site.
I'm not sure I'm having the same problem as others, with the wallpaper. Maybe I am. But my wallpaper shows up very large. The actual size is 700 x 1000, when I check it in Photoshop. I received it as part of a skin from DecalGirl. I would think, given the size requirement of 600 x 1024 (for one screen), this would be pretty close to perfect. But whenever I set wallpaper, the image gets blown up. I've tried using a picture of my daughter (which is 2400 x 3000), and it gets blown up, too. Her face is huge.
Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Help?
Okay, just tried using Wallpaper Set & Save, as I've seen others suggest, and that changed nothing. It's still really huge.

Have you tried changing the DPI? I tried with textdroider and despite trying a few different values it didn't change. Textdroider reported the proper value but there was no change in anything.
you know you have to be rooted to change dpi, right?
if you are, do it in the build prop

Yes I know that and changing it in the build.prop is what textdroider does. I've done it with app and manually and it doesn't change anything.
so, when you save the new build.prop, and you open it again, it shows that your density settings are saved?
And, then after rebooting, the old density is back in the build prop?
I wont get my phone until later today, so I cant try it now, but that's strange..

Yes the new value shows after manual (and after textdroider) edit and save/reboot but the screen DPI doesn't actually change. The value is shown, but the screen is the same.
There are actually a few different values, the one that is 400 is the one I'd been changing. I wasn't sure what the two 640 values were and haven't changed them. Never seen a build.prop with multiple values. Didn't know if maybe those two values corresponded to the left and right edge screens since there are settings for them.
Have you found out any more info about this setting?
Has anyone tried running this via adb shell:
wm density 380 (or whatever density you want)
This worked fine without root on my Xperia phone. Just curious as I am thinking about getting this phone, but not setting density is a potential dealbreaker.
Alright so an update, it's the first 640 value that changes the DPI. The one under #system.prop for universal7420. I changed it to 580 and the attached pic is the result. I loaded google now launcher to test the scaling and it appropriately scales itself to use the whole screen whereas TW moved itself to the top left of the display. I guess the next challenge is to make TW properly scale.
I noticed that last night. I wonder what the other 2 dpi settings control?
adb works
I have successfully changed the DPI using adb on normal S6, though Play Store now believe it to be a tablet. Also, most of touchwiz hates it, not a big deal for most things, camera may be the biggest annoyance when its only taking up the upper right 60% of the screen.
Has anyone sucessfully changed the per app DPI, like you can with Paranoidandroid?
Look for "buil prop editor" on play store!! But the kamera and keybord looks like a#$

Hi,
I changed my DPI successfully by changing the first occurrence of ro.sf.lcd_density from 640 to 540 in /system/build.prop using the built-in texteditor in root explorer (and rebooting afterwards ofcourse).
Then I noticed the camera didn't work properly anymore, so I created a fix for that (see this post).
Hope you'll get it to work, it seems the same to me as on earlier devices with as exception that the ro.sf.lcd_density occurs multiple times in the build.prop file.
Cheers,
Bane.
For testing different resolutions:
- have a functional adb
- enable USB debugging on device (developer options)
- connect device to your PC via USB cable. Then start a cmd in folder containing adb.exe. Type "adb devices" (without quotes) in the command prompt to check if adb recognizes the phone
- If is OK, type "adb shell wm density ZZZ" (no quotes) where "ZZZ" is the pixel density value you want to try (default is 640)
- no reboot needed, the change is on-the-fly
- check the programs (Samsung ones - dialler, calendar, camera, launcher, etc...)
- the change will disappear when you reboot your device.
per-app DPI...not; only with Xposed, when will be available.
Once you find the desired resolution it can be inserted in build.prop
