Missing Existing Connections - Mogul, XV6800 ROM Development

Hello,
I have searched, but for the life me I can't seem to find a solutions for this. I have 6800 (verizon) with DCD 3.01 and radio 3.27. I thought I would upgrade to 3.04. After flash I go into settings\connections\ and look for manage existing connections, but can't find it.
Does anyone have a suggestion?

Dbrown - using the 3.27 radio with a 3.x.x ROM is NOT a good idea, and it's highly recommended you upgrade to the 3.35 or 3.37 radio asap....

It's impossible for him to be using the 3.27 radio with 3.0.1. He's mistaken, he probably is using 3.37.20. The phone would not function if he had 3.27 and 3.0.1 installed.

Sorry it was late and I was not looking. I am running 3.37 radio. I had to go to ppcgeeks rom and i got the verizon connections back. Not sure why it did not work with DCD 3.04. I will try the rom instead of the kitchen.

Which "Radio only" upgrade should I use?

I have an Alltel 6800 with the stock WM6 ROM and Radio version 1.40. While I like the idea of using DCD's ROM, and its features, I have heard a few concerns, so I am going to stick with the stock ROM for now. I have seen, however many new upgrades for the radio only. I currently have 1.40 and I have found version 1.47.51 and 1.59 and 2.13 and 3.27. I would like to upgrade my radio only, and not the entire ROM/OS.
I can not be without the phone, so turning it into a brick isn't an option.
1. Does any one have any experience with these other versions of the RADIO only?
2. Would I gain any advantage by upgrading the radio from verison 1.40 to one of these? ( I'm leaning towards upgrading to 1.47.51 )
3. Would I need to contact Alltel to reconfigure it or enable it somehow?
4. Is it worth doing and risking something going wrong?
Thanks for your help and observations.
you can't use any of the 2.xx or 3.xx dcd roms without the radio upgrade you'll want the radio upgrade to 3.27 for gps ;-)
Before you upgrade your Radio, I would be sure it will work with Alltels service. I have Verizon, and i accidentally flashed the Sprint 3.27 Radio to my phone, and it took me a while to find the Verizon 3.27 Radio. My phone was configured to Sprints network, therefore it would not work.
Another thing to remember, make sure you make note of your A-Key (I don't remember how to make a note of it, I think you go into the phone config menu by dialing ##778, go to view info, and A-Key). I just checked my phones A-Key, and its blank.
When I upgraded my radio, I had to call Verizon tech support (I got a recording to dial #8899 which took me to their tech support), and I had the guy update my A-Key (Authentication Key - the recording said my phone could not be authenticated, so I guess this key does that).

Now that I think about it, you may be able to use any 3.27 Radio, you will just need to configure the A-Key.
Here is the link to the 3.27 Radio post. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=362563
Make sure you make a note of what is asked in the first post. If for some reason your phone doesn't make calls afterwards, call Alltel and ask them to update your A-Key. Just say you did a hard reset, and the phone is not making calls.
I know that the old radio won't work on the new ROM, but will the new radio work on the old ROM??
I can't say for sure, but I think it should since there are a lot of new ROMs out there, and they should all work with the Radio. I don't think you need a new ROM to use the new Radio, but I know you need the new Radio to use the new ROM.
including the gps drivers causes the phone to freeze on the splash screen with any radio other than 3.27.00.
(read: non-gps roms need a radio 1.30.00 - 1.47.01. gps roms need 3.27.00)
there is only one 3.27.00 radio, there are no carrier specific versions of radios. if you are using a non-gps rom and just want the newest radio, just flash it, nothing to reprogram.
1.47.01 did not properly report roaming for me and seemed slower to connect. i use 1.40.00 with non-gps roms.
1.17.00 was from sprint rom prerelease
1.30.00 was from verizon rom release
1.32.00 was from sprint 2.08 rom release
1.40.00 was from alltel 2.14 rom release
1.47.00 was from sprint 2.16 rom release
1.47.01 was from sprint 2.17 rom release
2.06.0D was taken from a vogue rom im not sure of
2.13.00 was taken from bell vogue 1.17 rom release
3.27.00 enables GPS and rev a and came from sprint 3.16 rom
hope this helps

Are you saying that the 3.27 radio works properly with the 2.17 ROM and the old bootloader?
and the $64K question, is there any advantage in upgrading the radio only? Better reception, better roaming, better EVDO holding and not droppping back to 1X, things like that?

no, 3.27.00 only works with a rom using 3.16 nk.exe and oemdrivers.

OK, wanted to clarify that...I read what you said about the newest radio and non-gps ROM as applying to the 3.27 radio...when you said "just flash it", you were referring to a 1.xx radio, not the 3.27 from the previous sentence. Thanks!

yeah, sorry about that
I've been using the 2.13 radio listed by dcd on the xv6800 with a non-gps rom. I find it more stable, better sounding and with no bluetooth drops, than either the stock 1.30 that it came with, or the 1.40 radio that many were using before the gps roms became available.
I also flashed back to this after doing the 3.27 radio upgrade with a gps rom. Just had too many issues with the radio, so I'm waiting for a newer (better???) radio version to try again.

Radio to enable GPS

Hi Friends:
Thanks for your suggestions...My SPRINT HTC MOGUL PPC-6800 has the SPL-2.40.Olipro and then I fashed it with RUU_TITAN_SPRINT_WWE_3.35.651.2_RS_TITAN_3.35.04_4350H_SPCS_AM_Ship.exe and I get the following:
CE OS 5.2.1629 (Build 18136.0.4.8)
ROM version: 3.35.651.2
ROM date: 02/22/08
Radio version: 3.35.04
Protocol version: DCAAXAM-4350H
Hardware version: 0003
PRL version: 60610
PRI version: 2.00_003
Browser version: MSIE 6.0
ok...I would like to know if dcd's titan ROMs & kitchen 3.0.1 and Radio 3.35.04 will enable GPS in my SPRINT HTC MOGUL PPC-6800
p.s. dcd's titan rom 2.1.0...Radio 3.27.00 or higher is required. This radio enables GPS and EvDO rev A.
Thanks
TecMan
Techman, if I'm not mistaken (someone correct me if I'm wrong), the sprint ROM will enable GPS and RevA. There is no need to switch to DCDs rom, unless you just want to. However, you should not need to do anything else with the radio...just the ROM.

Hi klwheat:
Thanks for your reply....but I would like to have Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional...that's why my question
dcd's titan ROMs & kitchen 3.0.1 with Radio 3.35.04?
or
dcd's titan rom 2.1.0 with Radio 3.27.00?
will enable GPS in my SPRINT HTC MOGUL PPC-6800?
Thanks
TecMan
both will enable it just fine, ive found 3.0.1 + 3.35.04 to be far less buggy than radio 3.27.00
Hi defaultdotxbe:
Thanks for your recommendation
TecMan
dcd's titan rom 2.1.0 with Radio 3.27.00?

Ok first off....dcd rom 2.1.0 uses WM6.1 BETA...as in I would definitely steer clear from that (no offense to dcd, as it was GREAT to have it at the time)
Second, Radio 3.27.00 was a leaked beta radio from the leaked sprint test rom...as in...full of bugs, drops data connection frequently etc.
dcd 3.0.1 is based off the official sprint/htc release update, uses wm 6.1 rtm, not beta, and radio 3.35.04 is an official radio release.
That should answer your question.
Techman, sorry about the confusion. Good luck with the update. My understanding is that if you upgrade the radio via the official sprint rom, and then the ROM with DCDs, RevA and GPS should both be enabled, and you'll get 6.1. Hope that helps, I just received my 6800 finally yesterday...and am waiting until this evening to get into it too deep. Right now the weather is nice (a rarity in WA) and I'm going riding!
GPS feature Inquiry
I am planning on going on a trip and relying on google maps as primary source of guidence. I have a titan and am using radio 3.27 if this is of any consequence. My question is if carrier reception is poor or non existant will gps still function. You'll have to excuse me if this is a dumb question. I am pc, mac buff, new to ppc. My iphone lacks gps, and all this fresh software I have obtained for my titan the last 5 months so this is my only source of gps but I will buy a standard garmin roadnav if need be, just hate to add more devices to my windsheild.

Seriously threads like this need to stop. They clutter these boards and push important stuff to the bottom. I know you really just want help to get your phone working, and I would definitely be willing to help you out, but there are much better ways to go about it than starting a new thread.
For instance, you could post in an established thread that you're having problems with data, or you could PM one of the people who know what they're doing.

Quick Question About Compatibility

I am very new to mobile OS. I'm pretty sure that it doesn't matter what the factory ROM version is on my phone when determining if my device is eligible for a flash to Scott's Titan M2D ROM Round 4 Reloaded Version 1.0, but I wanted to check. I have tried searching, no luck. I understand how to do it, just struggling on this question. I'll keep searching and will post [SOLVED] if any luck. Thanks
Sprint Titan evdo rev-a with GPS
Factory
ROM: 3.56.651.0
Radio: 3.42.02
You need flash Hard-SPL 2.40 or 2.47, Radio 3.35, But latest is recomended (3.42.50), and then you can flash to Scott's Titan M2D ROM Round 4 Reloaded Version 1.0 or what ever you want. After flash don't forget install carrier cab.

Yup, he is correct.
Actually the Radio you have is fine. You could just use that. 3.42.50 is nice but it does "seem" to eat battery power.

Titan Radio ROM 3.42.50 Where to Get it?

Hi everyone, dcd's server doesn't have the link for Titan Radio ROM 3.42.50 anymore. It also isn't located on the Mogul's wiki. Anyone have a location for the file?
Looks like RyanMogul has it in his shared as well.

dcd has it.
His link is working now. Wasn't earlier. thanks.
Read on another thread that the above Radio is a hacked version from the vogue. People have recommended rolling back to the official sprint rom and or using the official titan alltel rom. Alltel ROM HTC PPC6800 WM6.1 LBS Update – Version 3.52.671.9
