JusT Bought another atom.used.Tried flashing 6.1 atom's latest rom.By following the flash procedure.After the flash complete.i pull out the usb cable.wanna configure the sylus,but the screen don't respond.(Hang)so i tried hardreset.It stays at the black screen & me waited for nearly an hour.So i take it out the battery.(The battery i've just bought previously for the white atom) It automatically goes to bOOtloader without me pressing anything.So i flash the atoms original rom.it stays to 1% & my atom screen is blank.me Waited for 20mins.So i pull out the usb,take it out the battery & wait about a minute.Reinsert back the battery.Goes the same,enter bootloader without me pressing anything.I've been trying many times.I'm really stressed out..Could anyone help me settle out this problem.Sorry me causing everybody alot of problems.Thanks reply. Hm... it seems like the OS of device was destroyed, you said that you tried flashing your device to original rom, did you use RUU to flash it? It involved USB cable so I think you use RUU to flash it, did you try using your mini SD card to flash it back? If not, try using your mini SD card (less than 1GB)

You tried flashing your device with mini SD? What were the screen showed up? Can you tell me a bit more? It's still the same? Was the file diskimg.nb0 loaded? Flashing your device by mini SD card will exclude the problem of USB cable or USB ports. Remember to charge your battery to at least 60% before flashing by mini SD card. That's the most I can help. If it was still the same as flashing by USB cable, then there's no other way but bringing it to your distributer for maintainance, I'm sorry, can't help you much

If you have a spare camera take pictures of the screen you are getting and post it here.
the only problem is that i'm stuck at bootloader.Everytime i pull out my battery & reinsert back.it automatically goes to bootloader without me pressing any button.Next when i flashing the rom,it will surely stuck at 1%.So is there any masters can help me out this problem.Or maybe anyone had faced the same problem as i do?Pls help me solved this problem.i appreciate yr help.Thanks.

remove Mini-SD connect USB press buttons "restart+record+volume" hold volume+record for a while... know u,l enter boot loader mode start upgrading

remove your batteries. wait for a minute. then reinsert your batteries and DO as instructed by Alipi. You must have a charged battery; otherwise, you will still get a blank screen.
If your batteries are discharge, charge first with wall charger...

you must replace a flash rom or rewrite the flash rom bootloader program,otherwise,it will be a brick!

It's so hard for individual to reflash the bootloader,cos you had no tools that called JTAG interface,the JTAG interface inlucde a parallel port cable and corresponding software,and you had to know the JTAG interface in you ppc's motherboard!so hard of all to you and me!
So there is only way JTAG? is there other way to reflash bootloader?

Err... to save you such problem... it would be wise just to bring the device to the O2 Service Centre and ask them to do it for you. They normally just replace the board (quicker) and flash your board later to be fixed into someone else's device who have the same problem as you.

hi guys... im using an Atom Life Limited Red... Im trying to flash it with this ROM:Atom Life WM6.5 build 23001.. Did all the things necessary like copy the rom file AL1.DIO into my 2gb memory card thats been formated to Fat16 and without any files in it..
Now after Holding the rec button and pressing the reset button, it start to detect my memory card, then updating its image from 0-100%. But after 100% and its now saying
**Mini-SD Update Image OK**%) its been taking a while to reboot it up.. i mean awhile like an 30mins to 1hr..
I really don;t know whats wrong.. tried downloading the ROM 3x already.. and its still the same... stock on 100% OK!..
Hope someone here can help and lend me a hand plsss...

My AtomLife totally dead now, nothing happened when trying to turn on...
I was following the instruction here on how to backup and re-flash your own Hermes ROM:

After I completed the last steps 9 of running RUUWrapper.exe, the screen told me that my ROM upgrade have completed successfully. then I looked at my Hermes and the screen is black and and it seems to be powered off.
After exited RUUWrapper.exe my PC Activesync icon is gray.
So I tried to soft reset and also hard reset, nothing happends.
I took battery out overnight and put back in and hit power and still won't turn on.
I plug USB cable in and the charge indicator amber light doesn't come on, if I have the battery out while USB cable plugged in, the charge LED will become red, but as soon as I put the battery back in the red LED goes away and doesn't turn amber color (the normal charging LED)

First thing I'd try (if you know someone with a hermes like yours) would be to swap batteries and see if theirs wont turn on with your battery and if your hermes will with his battery. Or you could go to a phone shop and see if they have a spare battery lying aroud to try (with the added promise of a potential sale if it works). Hope you can fix it though... Cheers...
Actually I just swap battery with my friend's working Hermes and his can turn on with my battery, and mine still won't turn on with his battery.
Seems there's very little I can do if my Hemes won't even turn on or response with USB cable plugged in.

sounds like a hardware problem. if its under warranty, take back. If not, and you really wanna get fixed, you might have to pay. Check pricing first though as you may decide to upgrade instead.
i hav exactly the same problem. herme 300 t-mobile bootloader 1.11 (ipl 1.01) i never managed to flash it ether with sd card or from my pc (winxp). i recieved different errors: invalid vendor, not allowed... help plz

But 1st you need to do some reading through those threads I just gave you. Also look for mrVanxs upgrading guide. You wouldn't have got in trouble if you had've first done some research....

1st thing I'd try to do is to Hard SPL the phone. That was on page 116 of the "Hard SPL or how not to brick your hermes" thread I directed you to. It shows how to do using sd card. Then try to reflash with stock rom. This should get you back to where you started. Use the sd card method as I don't think you'll be able to use the pc. I don't know if this will work as it sounds like your friend also didn't Hard SPL your phone.
You REALLY shouldn't let anyone play around with such an expensive toy without proof that they know what they are doing (for example, own one themselves and have flashed their own MULTIPLE times with no problems) ... You might have a very expensive paperweight, and a bit more wisdom about letting others do what you should have learnt to do yourself.

i tried the solution u gave but didnt work too. the solution works with unbricked devices i gues (able to copy and excute files from it) but for me i tried to boot only the"HERMIMG.nbh" from the sd card (4 color screen or just black screen) & wich shows the following error code:00068002

paloma728, try flashing a stock rom. yu can do this by the sd card method too. I REALLY don't know if this will work but at this point it can't hurt. Nothing to loose and everything to gain... As it is the "right" update it MAY pass the CID check. Hope all goes well... Cheers..
your battery topped off while being plugged is my best guess. i dont think it's with the flashing of the rom at all

You may have to take back to your supplier and see if they can fix under warranty if that didn't work. Don't hold your breath though...

yes i have installed the HARDSPL ,but i dont know how to go bootloader,
when i press enter,vol down and reset it comes to a 3-4 color screen but immediately jumps to a white screen and asks me to reset all data (vol up) or cancel (vol down)
btw, i've put a rom on my sd card but nothing happend !

maybe you have to rename this rom to RAPHIMG.nbh
Volume down and reset (without the enter) will get you into Bootloader screen. From there is should pick up the ROM on the SD card and ask you if you want to flash.

and it asked me to load the image by pushing the enter button and i did.
now its about 15-20min that im waiting and still is on the 3color screen and nothing moves or comes or goes...

ya my problem was as i mentiond before i installed a CDMA version(USA VERSION locked on a carrier i think) , because the roms that were cooked are amazing,beautiful and dynamic ... but i didnt know that its not compatible with a normal TP and my phone after installation hanged just on the BIOS screen...nothing goes,nothing comes...i thought i've bricked my phone !
but after your advises i put one of the GSM roms on the SD card and changed the name of ruu_signed.nbh to RAPHIMG.nbh and VOL DOWN + SOFT RESEST to go to the bootloader menu,followed the instructions and finally fixed the problem and installed the right version.
but one thing that i DONT understand is why these beautiful roms are ONLY for CDMA version and not compatible with normal TP's???

When I turn on my nike it just freezes at the operators screen and nothing happens. Hard reset many times already and still the problem.
The problem is that it doesn't boot and the computer doesn't recognize it when I plug to the USB cable either..

Try inserting the stylus into the hard reset hole next to the charging port at a 45 degree angle, then push forward. afterwards you should go through the hard reset prompts.
Download original rom, remove battery, press camerabutton and powerbutton at the same time, now your in bootloader, flash original rom.

My apologies if this post is already started elsewhere (please guide me there if you can), but it seem the search is not possible today...
I rooted my brand new Vodafone Smart 2 and in order to free some memory I was moving some files from internal to SD card. Noticing a folder in the root called custpack (and thinking it was the specific folder Vodafone used for its teaking) I wanted to play around with it on my computer, but instead of copying it to SD card, I MOVED it... :0 At the first command the screen turned gray and the phone froze. I can turn it off now only by removing the battery. When it starts it can't go pass the android logo (boot image) and the screen turns gray. I know that Power button and Volume Down yield to Recovery menu, but my ROM is branded Vodafone Albania and they have removed that option. All I get is the option for factory reset (or I think that is what "All you data will be lost, Yes/No" means). Accepting that does restart the phone but still the same logo and gray screen afterwards.
Unfortunately, I can't install from SD due to this branded Vodafone AL ROM I have, and adb device command at the command prompt (DOS) does not recognize the phone (it did recognize before as I have the drivers loaded and Android SDK Tools).
Can someone help me either bringing the Recovery option to install from SD so I can try a complete flash of the original, or if there is any way I can have the adb recognise the device, or if there is any other way. I found a user here (Voda_Smart_2) that seemed to have the same problem and someone had said could help but only through PM. I tried to reply the thread so I could present my case, but as a newly registered I was not allowed to post on developers forums.
PLEASE HELP ME - For someone who uses a low-end phone like Vodafone Smart II option to buy a new one after ruining a new one is not possible....

Thank you for interest and concern for my situation! I know very well roeddie custom rom for VS2. I have actually installed version 0.9.1 as well as version 0.9.9 to some friends. I have the undestanding that the AIO he uses requires that the phone be recognized by the PC (adb devices does not list anything in my case). However, I'll give it a try and let this forum know if roeddie AIO flasher (OTA update 3) does install without the need for PC to recognize the android phone.

Thanks for your consideration! My problem is that my phone is not recognized in fastboot mode by the computer. I have installed Android SDK and updated regularly. Without fastboot (see bullet no. four following your link) I can not do anything Alberto96 suggest.

well guys if anyone of you still use this device; a possible fault that causes infinite boot logo screen is dead battery. Actually the controller board of the battery gets shorted causing a stable 1.7v output instead of 3.8~4.2v and refuses to charge even pushing power to it from an external power supply. Thats why the phone stucks on logo; it is the same reaction to connecting the phone to the charger without a battery... what you have to do is to find a used or a new battery (if it's still worth to do so...)

Thanks for the suggestion! It is not a problem of battery, as I have tried with two other batteries from friends' V860. Plus, if it is a board circuit then it does not matter if the we change the battery, unless with 'board' you mean the way batteries are connected inside the battery pack.
