Hello all, I'm looking for online stores who sell Martin Fields Screen Protectors, in Europe. I went to their official site, which have many languages, but the material is always sent from Singapore.
Anyone knows some links of European stores they can share?
Thanks in advance.

The M.F. is exactly like the included protector from HTC.
Martin Fields screen protectors for HTC Touch Cruise do not have hole for the front camera but this is not an issue as they are not glued on screen.
I bought 2 of them and I was scared of that when I receivend them but having only one hole for speakerphone did not create any issue. However be careful if you have grasy fingers, you will easily see smudges on the screen protector.
Final thought : quite good product!

The one I bought from MobilePlanet (Expansys) absolutely had a separate hole for the camera. I have it on now.

I bought the same and had no camera hole in the front screen protector but I had a screen protector for the rear camera lens.
Maybe another reference ?

Ordered mine from factory web site, No Camera Hole!
I ordered a Martin Fields Screen Protector from the factory web site (http://www.overlayplus.com/). I am in Tampa, FL., USA so they had my order drop shipped from ETrade in Bentonville, AR., USA. I was very disapointed to see no hole was provided for the camera. I am not sure how well it will work thru the protector. If they have 2 versions, they should let us know in advance.
Mine has a front-camera hole
I just ordered mine from www.mobilefun.co.uk - it arrived yesterday and does have a hole for the front camera.
My theory is that Martin Fields updated the design and that people getting ones without the hole are buying from resellers that placed big orders of the previous version and are still running down old stock.

Who doesnt want to ever buy another screen protector again??
Google "invisibleshield" and be impressed. I was so impressed i bought the screen only one, about 11$ i think. Ive had it for 3 months now and it is AMAZING It doesnt mark, scratch or anything. takes a little getting used to it to start with as it is soft not hard like traditional protectors.
It is a little tricky to install and place spot on in the right place and use plenty of the spray, but hey, you only have to do it the once right??
I cannot over emphasise how good it is, so go right now!!!
Make sure you use the american site however, the ones being sold on some uk sites dont have holes for the front camera, the US ones do

Hey, ive never seen those in actual shops, only on Expansys website. Also consider looking at invisibleshield.com, it's non scratch. I found those martin field ones were knackered after about 3-4 months.
I hated the ZAGG invisible shields -- impossible to get on right, and then they were so spongy I couldn't write on the screen.
The Martin Fields have been the best screen protectors I've used yet (I'm on my second for my TC, the first lasted 9 months before it got scratched.)

I'll start this thread in the hope that there'll be some good news soon.
I got my Touch Cruise on Friday and the device is absolutely fantastic but there is one huge problem with it. Using it either with the bare screen or with the screen protector supplied in the box, the smudges that get onto the screen are a real issue. It's not a case of cleaning it every day when you get home, it really is a case of pulling out a perfectly clean device, flicking up the cube to fire up the calculator, doing 60 seconds of calculations and then putting it away and even after that the screen is covered with smudges to an extent that bugs me. The saving grace is that, if a good screen protector can help solve this problem, then it's easy to apply as an aftermarket solution.
Do other people see the issue to the extent I do? (And my hands are actually fairly dry, I often have issues getting through fingerprint recognition at US immigration because there isn't enough grease on my fingertips.)
I'm told that Brando are working on a protector and I just had a quick play with my old O2 XDA Orbit which has a good screen protector on it (not a Brando but one of their big competitors whose name I forget but is another make that people tend to recommend) and it seemed to me that it was picking up far less muck than my TC one so maybe Brando or someone can ride to the rescue on this one.

There is another thread about screen protectors here.
I use the supplied one without any problems different from any protector I have used. Just get the Veripart screen cleaner and clean your screen with it about once a week. looks like it leaves a coating on the screen. I am not sure about that, but my screen is shiny and nice
By the way, how can you get smuges from a non-greay finger

Ah. Thanks for that. I was trying to do the right thing by posting into the "Accessories" sub-forum so that is where I looked for a previous thread but I did just find the other thread in the main Polaris forum, funnily enough not by looking through the forums but because that thread is the second hit on Google when I did a global search for "veripart screen cleaner" as a result of your reply. I'll definitely try Veripart.
Re: "how can you get smuges from a non-greay finger", I guess they're not totally non-greasy, just less greasy than average .
I'll still get a new screen protector for my TC though because the one that came with my device seems to have a little bit of adhesive missing right down in the bottom left corner, luckily only on the bit that covers the screen surround but, because it won't stick down, it makes it look as if there is a water stain on the device. I also find that the factory screen protector does dull the sensitivity of the screen a bit.
- Julian
I have the same problem with the supplied screen protector.
I found out that Brando will come out with two types of screen proctectors of which on is anti-glare. That's the one I want to try.
Just ordered this one:
http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...em=160199157845&_trksid=p3984.cTODAY.m238.lVI
If you don't know German, look at the picture depicting the structure of the material. Seems to be nice - anti-fingerprint, anti-glare, etc. Will report here as soon as I get it. There is no picture of the protector but I strongly hope it will cover the whole surface and not just the display area.

It looks very interesting. I hope it works out for you. I'll look forward to hearing how it works.
I just experimented some more with my old (now dead) Artemis. Obviously with the device being dead all I can do is wipe my fingers and thumb around the screen with it switched off and then look at how marked it is. This is actually just fine though because the marks show up most when the device is off so the fact that the device doesn't power on isn't really an issue for these tests!
Anyway, I found the email confirmation for when I first placed the order and it was a Martin Fields Overlay Plus Screen Protector and my experiments above confirm in my mind that a good screen protector does make a huge difference as far as fingermarks are concerned, my old Artemis with the Martin Fields protector seems to pick up maybe 10% of the fingerprints compared to the in-the-box HTC protector on my Touch Cruise under about the same amount of finger dragging on each screen.
- Julian
Brando is now selling the antiglare screen protectors. Emailed them and they said that they cover the whole face, not just the touch screen portion. You can get them here:

No, I'm not buying before I see it how it looks like. As I wrote above, I ordered one from eBay. It is 0.5mm more narrow than the screen area. But the worst is, there's not a hole in the surface for the secondary camera - there's a whole area cut out, like with scissors. Otherwise, the surface seems pretty diffuse. I haven't tried it yet, because if I remove and ruin my current protector and I don't like the new one, I won't have any
So I'm waiting for responses/pics from other protectors
Brando's version is unfortunately like the one ingenious got off of eBay - with the large cutout vs. individual holes. Can't imagine it would have been that hard to cut them properly I'd prefer Brando quality with HTC fit.

I bought one from Brando's for my Orbit 2.
Quality is top as usual.
But:
I think they do the large cutout to make them fit to both, the cruise and the orbit 2.
The result is: You can use them for both device, but they do fit perfect neither for the polaris nor for the orbit 2.
Especially with the orbit 2 there is a large gap at the top of the protected area.
So I have to say, I was used to get better quality from brando's

Shame, shame... Hopefully they will make them better at some point. Now I don't want to put mine because I'm afraid that if I don't like it, I won't be able to put the original one again

Thanks. Look forward to your post as my standard protectors's already looking suspect.
I ordered the more expensive ("self-healing") protector from Durasec and found it had the same problem as the Brando anti-glare protector: it refracts the light coming from the touchscreen, giving the pixels a broken-up, rainbow effect. Not nice or useful.
Guess I'm going to buy some more HTC ones, even though I ended up crumpling the first one out of frustration (bubbles, dust, etc).

I've first put the one delivered by HTC with the Polaris. Except the fact that the sticker perfectly match with the Polaris Form, it need to be cleaned at least 50x per day..
I've finally buy a set of universal screen protector. Of course you've to cut it by yourself, but the quality is pretty excellent and the price is really competitive (5 pieces for a price less than for 1 brando).

Why the HTC ones rather than the Brando Ultraclear? The thing I hate about the HTC protector is that it is no better than a bare screen as far as fingerprints are concerned. There is a thread running in the main Polaris forum (although a request has been made to the moderators to move it here) where other people are confirming how awful the HTC protector is re fingerpriints and also that the Brando UltraClear, although not as good as the AntiGlare regarding resistance to fingerprints, is a definite improvement on the HTC protector.
I confess that I'm still using the HTC protector but that's because I put it on my device immediately and now it's on I'm waiting a bit to decide what to replace it with. I don't like the Brando cutout but I think if pushed now I'd probably buy one of each Brando and see if I could live with the optical distortions of the AntiGlare and, if not, then use the UltraClear.
- Julian
P.S. I share your frustration re fitting these things; one of my least favorite activities.
I didn't try the Brando 'ultraclear' one -- I guess because I used one of these on a PDA years ago and found it to be 'ultraglare'. If I were sitting anywhere near sunlight, the screen became a mirror.
I suppose in the time since that's just become normal, as screens like the Touch Cruise are very shiny.
Looking at the various posts I think I'll go with the Brando UltraClear...
10$ + 3$ shipping is not so expensive (let's hope it will not be trapped by customs, in France that's pretty expensive even for a 10$ order).
Anyone aware about a way to get them from a European reseller instead of ordering directly to Brando in HK?
Thanks
DuraSec protectors
Hello all....
as i promised earlier i would report back once i got my DuraSec protectors and let you know how they are.
i just got them last night, so i ripped my HTC OEM one off, and put the cheaper "ClearTec" one on. on first impression, it is a slight bit TOO thin, as it is quite hard to get on without flipping and flopping around. Which in the end causes many small bubbles.
After some fiddling, i have it on looking semi-OK, and it doesnt mess with the screen clarity, nor refract light in any strange way that i can tell.
i do have a feeling that it will not last very long... but then again they market it as a temp. protector.
i will get back when i use the "HighTec".....
This is a possible way to improve the standard HTC screen protector which I'm pretty happy with except for one big issue, it offers absolutely no additional resistance against getting fingerprints all over the screen when not using the stylus and this is a big frustration for me.
Recently I decided to clean my protector using regular window cleaner that you can buy in supermarkets (I'm in the UK so I used "Non smear Windolene for glass and shiny surfaces"). I now only bother to wipe down the screen with a cloth every few days rather than after every few minutes of use which is what I had to do before (and yes, I do wash my hands very regularly!).
It's probably partly due to the fact that I've got better at remembering to try to use the fingernail side of my fingers rather than my fingertips but I think that a large part of it is due to the cleaner leaving some sort of coating because even when I deliberately do a few swipes with my thumb, which before would have left marks after even a single swipe, it is now pretty clear.
I didn't spray the cleaner straight onto the device by the way, that just seemed too risky, so I sprayed it onto a paper kitchen towel and then used that to apply the cleaner onto the screen.
For me I think this has improved things sufficiently that I might well just stay with the supplied protector.

Hi All, since a lot of us are getting the shift now, i guess it's time to think about which screen protector you are going to use, personally i always enjoy the Martin Field Overlay Screen protector, but they don't seems to have one for the shift yet, what do you guys think? found any good screen protector you are going to use?
Hi,
My shift was delivered with a screen protector, I have placed it on the first day and it looks really good. There was no brand on it, so I cannot tell about the manufacturer.
So far I am vey satisfied with it.

yes, i am aware of that, it just i have been using HTC for more then 7 years now, past experience told me i better wait for better screen protector, because once you put it the HTC one, it's so difficult to remove it, and if you do try to remove it and swap it with something else, you leave a mark on the screen, some user even experience bend and uneven screen because the original one is just so sticky.
There don't seem to be many screen protectors specifically for the Shift yet, I'm sure there will be soon. I fitted the included one but not very well, I managed to get a couple of dust specks under it.
I've ordered some generic 7" protectors from Durasec http://www.durasec.com/catalog/index.php?language=en
I also ordered one of their liquid nanotech screen protector kits, don't know much about it but it appears to be a liquid which you spray onto the screen to form a seal. Should be interesting...
Is it neccessary?
Hi,
please, give me an answer to a stupid question?
Is it really necessary to apply a screen protector. Why don't the manufacturers do it in the first place.
What are the advantages, what the disadvantages. Okay, protection comes to mind as an advantage, but shouldn't the original screen be resilient enough?
I'd really like to here some informative opinions.
I have been using a HTC Vario II for some time now without any protection and I can't detect any scratches.

Has anyone managed to find a decent screen protector yet?
Pantaloonie - how was the durasec one?
I've received them, but haven't got round to removing the original and trying them out. The liquid one is a bit strange, apparently you spray it on the screen then spread it with the included cloth, and it forms a protective layer.... or something. Think I'll be testing that on a cheaper device first!

I'd leave it on if I were you - I only took mine off as it had a hair underneath and I was losing sleep over it. Took a while but once you get a hold of a little corner it lifts off no problem. I've emailed HTC to ask if they can send me another but I'm notn holding my breath.
Would stay away from the standard Duratec - waste of £8. Let me know if you try the liquid one though!

Duratec Crap

How did you remove the original screen protector without damaging the display? What is the problem with the Duratec screens?
Hi,
removal was difficult, but I did it. I don't know the exact English words. I used this sticky tape which you wrap up parcels with, tape is of a brownish colour. That I stuck onto the screen protector until it lifted in one corner.
Duratec is thin and cheap material and I guess it is not possible to get it on the screen without lots of bubbles.
Now I have ordered a protector from Brando, was that the name?
We will see.
S.
I really like the anti glare screen protector from www.pocketpctechs.com . I use it with my both my SMT5800 cellphone and my Motion Tablet PC. I'm hoping I can get one sized for the Shift. But my Shift is not here yet so I don't know the size. I can't even tell I have a screen protector with this brand.
screen protector abuse
Hi,
any news about the "best" protector.
In the meantime I have abused 4 or 5. Duratec's cheap ones aren't of any other use than to clean the screen from dust particles.
I tried the Brando "ultra clear" was that the name? Relativ easy to apply, but in the end I fiddled with it too long. Had to peel it off.
Next I tried Brando "plus". Easily to apply, but foil slipped underneath the edge of the screen, when lifting it up to clean off a piece of fluff the protectors edge was damaged.
But the last one is really easy to apply. But, but, they or the distributers just declared them to be for the Shift, originally they are for the eee, how many eeeees were there?
So the screen protector doesn't really fit. At the edges there the foil doesn't cover about 1 or 2 millimeters of the Shift's screen.
Maybe somtime soon they will sell a protector that is for the Shift.
Please, if anyone has got the ultimate protector mention it here:
perfect fit and easily to apply would be nice features.
S.

If you mean Martin Fields, I have been using one for just over a month on mine, Went on straight after removing the shipping protection, Not a single problem, Although I did have to peel it a little to get a lump of dust out.
I got one yesterday and totally arsed up fitting it!
Its now sitting on my desk covered in finger prints and dust. Its funny cause I manage to fit the £3 for 5 ones no problem, but as soon as I'm faced with the pressure of a £12 one I wreck it!!!
I had a Martin Fields one on my Diamond and it was great. Lasted for months with minimal scratches. Definately the best quality protector I've seen. Just a shame they don't give you tabs to hold whilst installing it.
I might try washing my new one like it says on their website and give it another go!

I must admit, I buy Martin Fields for the same reason, I have used them since I had The original XDA, on Tomtoms etc and never had a problem, So you may have got a rip off one.
I went from Invisishield to Martin Fields screen protector. The Invis was just too soft and the stylus would drag or stick.
Martin Fields went on fine, fits almost perfect and so far only has one or two marks but nothing serious and hardly noticable. Thats after about a months use.

Yes they are washable. I use one one my KAISER. No scratches over one year of heavy use. After you wash it dry it with compressed air can (can buy it in computer parts stores). Hold the protector from the sides carefully, do not put any fingerprints on it. Remember which side is down. I washed mine probably three times before I managed to get it right.

Good tip! I was using compressed air to try and blow the dust off the screen before applying it! I'll give it a go tomorrow - hopefully I'll manage this time!
I have been using Martin Fields for all my PDA, iPAQ h6365, XDA Flame, iPAQ 612, and now the Touch HD. Seen some scratching on iPAQ 612 but the rest never.
I used to use these on my old 1+1 as they often have them on offer which makes them one of the cheapest and decent protectors.
Had a 90% off code (Take90) through today so thought I'd have a look if they have anything for the 1+5.
They only have a plastic film protector for the 1+5 showing in their site.

However when selecting that a Spartan glass option comes up at 29.99 (buy 2 with the code to work comes in at $6) the pair, which again is incredibly cheap.
I haven't ordered one yet to see if it's real or just a website error (shipping to the UK takes weeks and costs more than the protectors).
Wondering if anyone else has tried it stateside?
I may order them anyway, I seem to be amassing a collection of bits of sticky edged glass, so another one won't hurt.
I've ordered one. For a tenner I'll risk it. These used to be really good. Had one for my one plus one.

I've got a couple of these on order, although right now I'm fairly happy with my Nilkin/Otterbox combo gave up on the full 3.5D coverage ones, first one arrived broken, second one had debris already on the adhesive before lifting from the plastic.
Well mine has turned up today.
Compete utter sh#te..
It's about 3mm narrower than the screen (not the bezels the actual visible screen)
There's no borders but there's obviously the original screen exposed on the sides
I'm going to demand a refund.
Sorry if anyone else ordered one based on this thread. Very disappointed
Might be able to see the edge and how much is exposed on the right here.
Not the best quality photo, taken with my shield tablet..

Look like a similar cover to the Nilkin tbh. I'm happy with that as a solution, compared to the dark borders. The Otterbox case I use offers enough protection to the very outer edges due to the depth and my most likely damage would come from a more central hit/scratch.
I've received mine today and the result is similar I'm afraid.
I'll leave it on for a day or two but I reckon it'll come off since it doesn't cover the screen properly.
I really don't understand why it's this hard to make a screen protector that fits properly. Maybe OnePlus just gave the wrong measurements to all the OEMs?
In any case...
Pixel 2 out soon. Maybe that'll be an option.

XtremeGuard always sells complete and utter sh*t. Any company that has 90% sales once a month is lying to its customers and does not deserve my business.

Put mine on today after receiving yesterday.
Worst protector ever! Huge halo and cuts off a portion of screen like the million. Do not buy! I've already asked for refund.

So I wanted to get one but I don't have a credit card and shipping is 8 dollars!
You have to buy two products in order to get the code "Take90" to work
Same as Nilkin with an extra cutout for the ffc and proximity sensor. It's probably one of the best tgsp right now, full coverage units are currently all worse than this.
Hi, this is for people from India. Have any of you installed tempered glass screen protector which works fine with fingerprint scanner? If so, please share your experience and links.
TIA
Yes, got 1 today.
Fingerprint was working fine but the the size of that glass was not upto the margins, if you apply from top bottom of screen would hide and vice versa. So returned it...
PS: this was the one, don't buy it...

Anyone else who has got a good TGP which doesn't block the screen, preferably full glue.
Well i would recommend leave the default protector on till the end of November that is when we can expect the official tamper glass to appear online. You can also get one from the experience stores if you have one near you.

I'm in the US and have bought some cheap 2 packs off eBay and they all work fine and are full glue and don't block anything

I can't post links I guess
I am keeping the film on till it lasts. It's the best fitting screen protector as of now. We have a gorilla 6 screen so breaking the screen shouldn't be a bother. I went to a shop looking for a screen guard, the guy said he will fit the glass on top of the OEM film cause its the best there is, so I said thank you and left.
Official tempered glass now available on OnePlus site

Has anybody tried it on yet?
Does it cover the whole screen?
