When I turn on my phone using JUST the power button, it vibrates, and that's it. The screen doesn't turn, nor do any lights.
When I turn on the phone using the BL Screen (rainbow, POWER+Comm+Camera), it shows me:
TITA100 MFG
SPL-2.40 Olipro
CLPD-9
Then, when I plug it to my computer, it reads the device, and tells me its "WM 6.1.6965".
I want to be able to turn on my phone and let the OS boot normally, but nothing seems to work! I've tried flashing different ROMs and Radios, but they all seems to have either an "Image Error" or "They cannot find a device" on my computer.
I want to be able to use my phone, but I have no idea where to start. How did it get to this state?
I'm not sure.
PLEASE HELP ME. Much appreciated.
have you tried the sd card method. Where you rename the rom in the update called RUU_signed.nbh to TITAIMG.nbh and place it on the root of the sd card ( a fat 32 formatted non sdhc card) any small one will do as long as its big enough to hold the rom normally about 70-100mb so a 128mb or bigger card should work but nothing over 2gb card wise. All you do is put the file that you renamed onto the micro sd card then go into the boot loader screen of your phone via power+camera+reset it will briefly say serial then go to a screen prompting you to update follow what buttons to push to do the update via the on screen prompts, once done it will say update complete. It has been my best experience to take the battery out for 20-30sec when this screen comes up then replace the battery and boot via the power button. Hope this helps.
Oh I could have flamed you for not searching and provided you a link to one of the many forums on here already about the titan (ppc6800) but sometimes its just as easy to take 2 min to post what works as it is to digg up the proper forum via search results.
Thanks for the info.
However, I have searched the forums, and everyone seems to have a happy go lucky time when it comes to flashing, which would mean...that I'M not.
Nevertheless, I have tried the SD Card method, with the proper card (1 gig, FAT32, 1024), and when I put it in the Phone, it says "Loading...", then "NO IMAGE FILE!"
I don't know what's up with that. I've tried different custom and official ROMs, and each time I get that message.
put the USB earphone/ USB power plug into the phone and push the reset button
not to make you sound dumb but make sure that you put the RUU_signed.nbh file on there from the downloaded rom or official rom via looking @ the exe with winrar or similar software ... then rename it to TITAIMG.nbh and place on the card... i had similar problems but got past them via doing a full format of the sd card with these selected options 4kb sectors and fat 32 for the format and un-checking quick format once formatted that way the boot loader saw the image and i was able to flash.
I reformatted using the suggested parameters, and even so, it said "No Image File!"
I did rename the RUU.nbh file to TITAIMG.nbh, and even then.
That's why this is so frustrating for me. It makes no sense that this doesn't work.
Thanks.
i guess you need to search the forums for the program that un-bricks your phone seems that something is wrong and part of the phone is not working, however sense the computer sees the device you should be able to run one of the programs to bring it back.
on a side not try if you have one available another sd card some don't like to work with the boot loader but will still work fine with the phone as an sd card.
The file is on the card base directory and not in a folder right? If you place it in a folder it will not see it. I had to do the SD flash on my XV6800 because I screwed it up by not loading the Radio first.

OK I used the ROM Kitchen to mave a .eve of the upgrade to WM 2003. In the middle of the process my device lost the connection. Now my device is sitting at the upgrade screen telling me it will be done in 5 min.
What can I do?
i had that happen to me today!
usualy, you restart the .exe and insert the xda,
it will restart the process on its own.
if not, go it the SD card method, as described somewhere in this forum.
good luck.
Hmm...
Because I always use the SD method, I have never used the exe files. My guess would be to soft reset the device and hope that when you put it in the cradle again it will let you run the exe. You may try putting it in the cradle while its in bootloader mode if just a soft reset doesn't work. Only other thing I could offer is to write it to an SD card for you - but that would require you mailing me the SD card + rom, me mailing it back, and a lot more than 5 minutes.
Let us know how it works out.
I am trying the SD way. However, program that is suggested does not appear to be writing anything to my SD card. I have a 6 in 1 USB card reader. Any the program ask you to pick drive 2-4. I have tried all drives and can not see the image file when I try to view the contents of the SD card on my PC
You're not going to see the contents when you try to view it on your PC - your PC will tell you the card isn't formatted.
I have resolved my problem thanks for the help!
StarTrek SD Card flashing
It is necessary to format your microsd card to FAT32 filesystem!
# Empty (erase the contents) of your microSD card from the Windows Mobile file explorer or format it in fat32 from your computer using a card reader (in some cases format doesn't work).
# Extract the .NBH file from your prefered ROM upgrade: In windows use winrar (right click) to extract the contents of the exe file. In Linux / ~MacOS use [cabextract | http://www.kyz.uklinux.net/cabextract.php].
# Rename the .NBH file to *STARIMG.nbh* and copy it to the root folder of your microSD card.
# With microSD card inserted on the phone, start the bootloader (The bootloader is invoked by pressing down the Record button and Camera button at the same time).
# You should see the screen with SD Card searching, then confirm flashing on screen by pressing Softkey.
# Flashing might hang after some time but this is normal. Just wait. Complete flash takes about 25 minutes, so check your battery or connect to charger before the flashing process starts.
~SuperCID devices are able to flash any official NBH image using this method.
Yes it works ... but ... edit NBH files doesnt work too with this methode!!!
edit NBH files doesn't work at all. Because of there is no known method to create properly signed NBH for StarTrek.
i think that 1024 is right signature size, but it is incorrectly signes with any known nbh creating tool
Qtek 8500 dead
I tried to use RUU_STAR100_3.6.252.1_02.67.30_QtekNOR_Ship.exe to upgrade to the latest ROM, but upgrade process was interrupted (reported a communication error about 40% into the process); I was not able to recover via the tool.
The phone only shows the three colour bootloader screen now, with IPL and SPL 3.06.0000.
I tried the SD upgrade method described on this page, but while the phone during power-on process very briefly shows a white screen with "searching for SD card", it only comes back on the 3 colour screen and remains "dead".
Any tips on how I can revive the phone?
when your phone in tri-colour (bootloader) mode, reconnect it to PC, and run upgrade via RUU_STAR100_3.6.252.1_02.67.30_QtekNOR_Ship.exe again
PS. You phone isn't dead)
Qtek 8500 still dead
Thanks for the quick reply Erofish.
I tried the suggested step already, but it fails because the ActiveSync no longer gets established. When I plug in the USB cable in the phone, the word "USB" appears in the bottom-left corner of the three-colour bootloader screen, but the PC doesn't seem to recognise the fact that the phone has connected. The ActiveSync icon stays grey and the RUU_STAR....exe tool reports an "Error 260", indicating it cannot connect to the phone.
I did try another PC also, but no change, so I fear it seems to be a problem with the phone rather than the USB port, ActiveSync or so.
I was hoping that the SD Card flashing would be the alternative solution, but as mentioned above, I can't get that to work
I am now thinking I may have missed something in the process... I formatted the SD Card using FAT32, I copied the .nbh file and renamed it to STARIMG.nbh. I am getting the "searching for SD card" message briefly, but never get to the point where I am asked to confirm the upgrade; the screen just goes to/stays in 3 colour mode.
Whichever method may be best, but any ideas to get the phone working again would be GREATLY appreciated!
Dtroll1, turn off AciveSync, kill the ActiveSync processes or just disable USB connections in Connection settings and try again.
Did as suggested by ronswens, but am again getting the message from the RUU_STAR...exe tool that it can't connect to the SmartPhone (error 260).
Did you name the nbh file STARIMG.nbh in FAT32 sd card? I have tried sd card flashing, when i do have nbh file but cant flash,it shows "Invalid Certificate", so i doubt the nbh file name was wrong.
When my phone dead, i pull off the battery, wait half minute, and the plug in the battery(if i dont do these,i cant go into 3-color), go into 3-color, plug usb cable, and just run RUU,then it will flash, during flashing, ActiveSync keeps gray untill flash over and system boot into WM5.
I saw lot of people said, if you dont get CID unlock, the phone will easily get dead when flashing, and the only way to solve this is to send to repair.
only official NBH files can be flashed via microsd card!
yes, as dtsme said, try to remove battery for minute, and plug it again. Turn on your phone in bootloader mode (hold Record and Camera buttons and press Red Button (power))
when your device will get in bootloader mode, run RUU for your device (if you have Qtek 8500, then use Qtek rom; if you have Cingular 3100/3125, then use Cingular rom; if you have Dopod S300, then use rom for it; e.t.c)
Thanks again. The NBH file I used is an official one.
In any case- I sent the phone back, so problem "solved" for now.
I have the exact same problem as Dtroll1 - locked in three color screen (ipl 3.06.0000, spl 3.06.0000), consistent error 260 when running an updater, and no effect from putting SK_QtekNOR_3.6.252.1_Ship.nbh on a MicroSD as STARIMG.NBH.
Any further ideas?
Can I do this on my O2 Neo?

Here is a link to the OEM QTEK 8500 ROM. IF you are stuck in bootloader, you need follow the SD flashing instructions exactly including case sensitive naming of the file STARIMG.nbh. Also check that your card is FAT32 formatted and verify the file name in a DOS window to ensure that windows has not doubled up the .nbh extension

I think most HTC phones allow you to flash your phone from the card in such a fashion - the thing you have to figure is what to name the file - the name you give it varies from device to device.
Hi
I've to flash my qtek8500 in SD mode because i've played with registry settings and the phons doesn't boot anymore. Could you tell me whioch buttons i have to press to get the bootloader invoked??? Which button is the camaera button and which is the record button???

I know this is a little too late... but it sounds like your SD card is too slow. For anyone else that has the same problem, make a small 100mb partition on the SD card and place your NBH file there. This will make it so that the bootloader sees the file before it moves on to the regular bootloader.

I just tried this trying to save a phone it did not work
I have a rom kitchen that can cook roms for startek. I am going to try to make a rom today with all the info I have found so far. My 3125 is scrap to me so if I brick it I don't care. Wish me luck I'll keep you all posted.
Just a little update, super CID unlocked the phone and have been able to manipulate some files. Attempted flashing an os.bin from typhoon but phone would no longer boot. Retrying, thought bricked device but no. I'll update as I make progress.

Sledwrecker, thanks for taking the initiative on this. I also have a dormant QTEK 8500 when you get a little further along and need another tester. Let me know, I'm up for it.
Well seems as though I have bricked this turd.... I am locked in bootloader I can't recover from SD fallowing all the steps I have found around here.
Trying to D/L the qtek rom now maybe that will work.
I can't get the phone to connect to pc in bootloader mode. Phone enters bootloader, I plug in USB and it shows "USB" on the bottom left but I can't see the phone through MTTY or throught the RUU setup.
I'll update if I figure this out.
Prepare your SD card with the OEM ROM per this method and this should (hopefully) unbrick your device. Please report back so I can also know if it works in this situation. Thanks!

I've tried this several times with the english nk.nbh from HTC's american rom and the CWS rom as well.
1. Extract RUU_STAR100_4.1.502.5_02.79.30_CWS_SHIP.exe
2. rename .nbh file to STARIMG.nbh
3. format "my" 1 gig micro SD card FAT32
4. copy STARIMG.nbh to MicroSD card
5. Insert MicroSD card into STarTrek
6. Power on in bootloader mode holding camera and voice record then pressing power.
7. White screen with blue text "searching for SD card"
8. Tri-Color Boot loader....
Never finds / Sees the SD card
PC sees MicroSD card just fine.
Also, as mentioned above I can't get the phone to connect via USB and bootloader either.
Here is what I KNOW I did "wrong" possibly....
1. I was in MTTY trying to upload a WM6 os.bin to the startack.
2. Ran set 32
3. It found device "ok"
4. lnbs os.bin
5. it did a format and copy
6. restarted phone
7. Nothing.......
8. Hard reset ........
9. Nothing
10. camera, voice record, power = bootloader... Works..
This is where I am at. Like I said I jsut want to get a WM6 rom working if the phone is done the oh well. I am here to help.
Try this
If you want to connect in bootloader and you see the usb connection try the following:
In Activesync, unckeck the Alloy USB connections box.
Remove the device entry from control pannel under mobile devices
plug in the device to USB
Run the enableRAPI program to try to re-establish communications
Here is also a rapidshare link to the latest OFFICIAL WWE ROM for WM5 QTEK 8500. Try it as RUU after the above, if that does not work, extract the contents and try the SD flash again. My gut says if you can get to bootloader, you haven't bricked it yet.
http://rapidshare.com/files/56652190/RUU_STAR100_3.6.251.0_02.67.30_QtekEUR_Ship.exe.html
You said
*Remove the device entry from control pannel under mobile devices
Can you be specific, I can't figure that part out? asside from removing the device entry I've done everything else.
When I try to run the enablerapi it just sits at a blank cmd prompt?
Still no luck get the 260 error when running the RUU
Start>Control Pannel>System>Device manager>Portable Devices>(Windows mobile-based device)
Remove whatever device looks like StarTrk or WM Smartphone
Well I went through device manager and can't find any reference to mobile device or startrek. still can't get the phone to connect.
SD card flashing still did not work even using the .nbh from the rapidshare link above.
When the phone first goes into bootloader it says searching for SD for about 1 second then goes to tri color screen. it's as if it doesn't see the SD card at all.
When in bootloader if I plug in the usb cable I get the little USB down in the bottom but I can't get the enable rapi to work. It just hangs or sits at a cmd propmpt
Sounds like we need to get the SD flashing to recognize your card,
Let me walk through the process with my working QTEK and the same ROM I posted to Rapidshare, then we can compare notes again.
EDIT: By the way, My IPL/SPL show 3.06.0000 and the USB connection does link when attached to my PC (Vista).
SD Flashes OK
Well, I found only a few contentious points with the SD flashing guide:
1) VERY CLEARLY states you must format for FAT32
I had to buy a new microSD for this test. It came standard in FAT16 not FAT32. Took quite some time to format it.
2) Extracted the .nbh file using WinRAR version 3.7
3) Rename the file STARIMG.nbh in CAPS as shown. This was the only file on the card and was in the root directory
4) when installing the microSD, it was necessary to put my SIM card in to keep the SD located properly.
The rest went as expected without fault.
Dude you are my personal hero.
I got it unbricked or fixed using your method.
Here is what I did EXACTLY so maybe this will help someone else.
1. Take 1 gig Kingston MicroSD card
2. Put it in SD sleave and Plug into Computers SD card reader
3. Open Disk Management by right click on my computer then "manage"
4. Selected Removable Disk
5. Format as FAT32, Cluster size = 512 and NO QUICK FORMAT and NO Volume Name
6. Extract ship.......*.nbh from official rom RUU installer.
7. Rename Ship......*.nbh to STARIMG.nbh
8. Copy to SD card
9. Place MicroSD card in phone
10. Insert SIM
11. Insert Battery Pack
12. Holding camera and voice buttons press and release power on
13. Phone searched for SD card
14. Success Phone found SD card press middle side button to start download from SD.
15. Took less than 10 minutes to complete recovery!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I saw some other threads around with people stuck like I was earlier. Try this it worked for me!
Back to the cooking I'm either going to brick this phone or get WM6 working!!!
THANKS AGAIN!
I love it when a plan comes together! Good luck in the kitchen.
Haven't given up yet.. quickk update.
I've been able to succesfuly extract the WM5 ROM completely.
I've been unable yet to extract a complete nk.nbf from Tornado.
After close comparison looks like tornado is closest to Startrek. It has the same OMAP 850 Proc and architecture was going to port typhoon since it's the 730 and the 850 is basicly the same but faster.
I have got an os.bin tornado WM6, not sure what to do at this point.
----
From what I found if I use the XIP from the WM5 rom then the main drivers, keypad, etc.. should work. in theory..
Can I mesh the os.bin into an .nb file ?
I was consifering pdocwrite.exe to upload it but I need to know how to caluclate the header size. Unsure here.
Can I take the os.bin, convert it to .nb and then mesh it in with a WM5 nk.nbh?
Looking for some suggestions, if there is anything OBVIOUS that I am missing please poitn it out.
Try to contact with Erofich, sp3dev or pof, cause these gays working on this project and use the pdocwrite. So they can tell you how to caluclate the header size.
Also in this thread have some info too:

Windows nb from Typhoon
http://rapidshare.com/files/57065531/windows.nb
Here's a windows.nb we can try if you wish from the Typhoon WM6 ROM in my signature. I know you said the Tornado has similar hardware, but I think the Typhoon is also a close match. This comes from the Typhoon os.bin but I am not 100% certain of the process to make it.
(I do have WM6 working excellently on my Typhoon from this file)
I believe if you replace the WM5 windows.nb with this one from WM6 then recook it, it just may work.
k, giving this a shot

Hi,
I would very high appreciate if someone in this community could help me with the Hard-SPL upgrade problem. I read a lot of threads in this forum and in other forums. I tried to follow several solutions but I get stuck all time during the upgrade to hard spl 2.10 with an error 260.
I connected my mobile via USB cable. WMGC 6.1 is running on my PC --> synchronizing has finished. Then I started Ruuwraper on my vista PC --> after I answered yes to upgrade to hard-spl 2.10 --> on my mobile appeared enterBL.exe and was asking me if I should run it Y/N. Then I replied with yes --> afterwards it appeared the bootloader
IPL-SSPL by Desc
SPL-1.09ds
but then there is no reaction for about half a minute. Afterwards it appears on the PC "error 260" (I should check if the cable is connected via USB)
However I see that USB appears on the bootloader screen. In my opinion it should work, but didn't !
if I go into bootloader I read following :
IPL --> 1.01
SPL --> 1.04
IMG 1.23.707.4
My desktop OS --> vista 64
windows mobile center --> V6.1.6965
Can it be that I need a special USB cable for my HTC ?
Or ????
Thanks in advance for your help.
I know that there is a problem with using 64bit OS versions, so if you have another computer you can use that isn't 64bit to check whether it is that or not.
Good luck
Thanks for your fast reply.
I tried on my other computer (laptop installed windows XP SP3). However I failed with the same problem.
When i first tried to flash my device i had a problem of it not connecting to the boot loader, it seemed that every time the phone changed to boot loader the computer would no longer recognize it and it wouldn't be synced with the computer. i think i managed to get around this problem by putting my phone into boot loader (ok button + power + reset button) and then connecting it for some reason the computer would then recognize it and it would work. I cant remember what it was i was flashing it may have been hard-spl
Hope this helps, Good luck
Edit: I found this information on completely different forum that came from HTC about what to do
HTC's Answer: I was instructed to disconnect and soft-reset. Then I was instructed to go to Settings>System>Memory>Running programs and Stop All. Including Active Sync. We then reconnected the phone. Established a sync and ran the utility. Active Sync still goes away and you get the falling tone of a Disconnect. Ignore it and proceed as if everything is connected. Bang Zoom. 10 minutes later I'm loading software. *dance*

this is what is meant to happen as i flashed a new rom the other day on vista and windows had to find the device again and reconnect i think after this small pause it worked again.
Ok, I tried. Following result :
I see that Serial goes to USB but then no reaction. I can see on the WMDC 6.1 --> it shows still "not connected".
I found one article below and tried as well but it starts not automatecly from the bootloader too :
HERMIMG.nbh on a FAT32 filesystem
http://forum.xda-developers.com/files/hermes_sd_flashing.jpg
1. If you want to install any ROM (NBH) which is not supplied by your operator or the CID does not match then you will need to SuperCID your device. This can be easily done by installing HardSPL and should be the first thing done if doing any upgrading.
2. Empty (erase the contents) of your 2 gig or smaller non-SHDC MicroSD card (the Hermes bootloader does not support SDHC) from the Windows Mobile file explorer or format it from your computer using a card reader (in some cases format doesn't work) make sure it's formated in FAT32 format. As a precaution you might want to check the MicroSD card for file errors. i.e (Properties->Tools->Error Checking)
3. Extract the .NBH file from your preferred ROM upgrade: In windows use winrar (right click) to extract the contents of the exe file. In Linux / MacOS use cabextract.
4. Rename the .NBH file to HERMIMG.nbh and copy it to the root folder of your microSD card.
5. With microSD card inserted on the phone, start the bootloader (hold Ok button on left side and POWER button at same time and stick with stylus in RESET on bottom).
6. You should see a screen similar to the one pictured on the left (What lines appear depends on what is included in the nbh. If the file doesn't include bootloader code, that line will not appear, and so on.) Confirm flashing on screen by pressing the power button.
7. Flashing might hang after some time but this is normal. Just wait. Complete flash takes about 30 minutes, so check your battery or connect to charger before the flashing process starts.
8. After you get the confirmation that the upgrade is complete, softreset your device.
So you tried flashing using the sd card method and still no result?
yes
and now I tried your suggestion with stop running programs activsync and calender.
Also the same --> error 260
I would've hoped that one of the methods would work, i take it the device syncs up fine normally to device center and you can access all your files etc?
This is the thread i quoted from there is some more information about the problem i don't know whether it will help though.
http://forums.wireless.att.com/cng/board/message?board.id=cingular&thread.id=42389&view=by_date_ascending&page=1
yes I can synchronize and I can see all the file via vista explorer.
I take it your planning to flash a newer rom onto your hermes, are you running the stock rom that came with it at the moment?
I just ran the hard-spl ruuwrapper.exe on my computer with out my phone connected this gave me the 260 error so it is most probably something to do with the phone connecting whilst in boot loader mode, did you click yes to run any program that it asked you to on the phone?
I did read some where that resetting the pc might work but i dont know whether it will make a difference considering you've already tried it on another computer.
Good luck

Actually I bought the HTC in Taiwan (CHT is the brand on the front) in a shop. At the beginning there was a chinese OS and the seller in the shop changed it to the english version.
I just ran the hard-spl ruuwrapper.exe on my computer with out my phone connected this gave me the 260 error so it is most probably something to do with the phone connecting whilst in boot loader mode, did you click yes to run any program that it asked you to on the phone?
yes, it appered enterBL.exe on my mobile. Then I answered with Y.
I did read some where that resetting the pc might work but i dont know whether it will make a difference considering you've already tried it on another computer.
yes, on my laptop (windows xp). The same problem -->error 260. There is only one difference between my desktop and my laptop. activsync (with windows xp) drops during using the program RUUWraper which WMDC 6.1 (with vista) does not.
Good luck

i dont really know what to suggest, what happened when you tried flashing it using the sd card method?
Tried already. Not working too.
program starts not automatically with .nbh file from the SD card when I went into bootloader.
you could try the sd card method again, following the instructions Here to the letter and see how it goes because that should bypass the problem of it not connecting and should work.

I tried again to flash via SD card but my mobile does not recognize the .nbh file. The mobile stays in bootloader mode and does nothing.
Edit :
maybe I made something wrong ? I used the .nbh file from the Hard-SPL. Is this ok ?
i have attached the .nbh file from hard-spl. renamed to what it is needed to be to work. reformat the memory card so that it is blank and in fat32 format, put this file on it and follow the rest of the steps.

Thanks. My SD card is already formatted with FAT32. Is it really necessary to format it again ? I deleted only the files on the SD card and tried it already but it did not work.
If yes to format FAT32 again, do you have also a program for FAT32 formating which is running on vista ?
I downloaded fat32format already but I have to find an adapter to put it into the PC to format. Or is there another possibility to format ?
From the PC I did not find a possibility to access to format directly on my mobile.
there is a formatter on vista but the memory card would have to be connected to the pc, when i brought my micro sd card it came with an adapter to an sd card so i can use it in a usb card reader or the one on the front of my tower.
other wise i dont know if you can format it this way whilst it is connected to the phone.

Ok thanks. I have to buy an adapter. Then try again.
ye im afraid so i cant think of any other ways that might get your device to flash, you could always wait to see if one of the more senior members replies although you may have to wait until tomorrow.
I searched the forums, and didn't see an easy to follow answer to my question.
I just got one of the woot tablets, so I've only had it a few days. It is stock, but I did temp root it so I could apply the market fix. Everything was working fine for a couple of days, but this morning when I turned it on, it seemed to be in a boot loop (the Tap N Tap screen kept cycling until it shut itself off).
Will I need a micro sd card to recover? I saw some threads that talked about connecting to a computer and transferring a file to the internal drive, but my computer isn't recognizing the internal drive on my g-tab. I can only see it when the G-tab is booted up, and I turn on the USB transfer from the G-tab.
If there is already a thread with easy to follow instructions could someone point me in the right direction?
BTW, I have already tried the vol+ and power button, I get the message that says recovery key detected, and then the box in the center of the screen. but then it continues into a boot loop.
Thanks for your help.

You probably need to do the NVFlash to stock ROM.
Well.. I'll throw my idea out there.
I think you may need to re-partition the SD card.
Apparently this happens to all of them at some point, and in fact it did happen to mine.
The device comes rooted, so you aren't rooting or unrooting in any of this. Its already rooted.
Go here: (the clockwork guide)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=865245
You'll want to download the cwmod_microsd from the first post, then extract the zip to the root of a micro sd card. Put the microSD card into the tab, then boot using the Vol+ and power. You will get the message that a recovery key was pressed then its going to automatically install clockworkmod recovery.
I dont recall if it finished booting at that point or shuts itself down. Regardless you'll still be in your bootloop so start it back up again using the vol+ and power key again.
This time you'll be greeted with clockwork recovery.
Once in the menu, you can go to Advanced and mount the sd card. Copy any files off of it that you may need to your computer, the next step will erase the internal SD card.
If nothing is needed, ignore this step.
**I repeat, the internal SD card will be wiped here.
From within clockwork mod recovery go to Advanced->Partition SD card. Choose 2048 for the first option and 0 for the swap.
Go back to the main clockwork screen and choose to restart device.
Cross your fingers that you boot up without a loop.
I'm doing this from memory, so if my verbage is a little off my bad. But you should see what I'm talking about.
Thank you... So I guess I need to go out and buy a micro sd card. Any size/class recomendations?
Depends.. Do you want it to get it back up and running.. 1gb or less.
Or do you want to also increase the storage of the device.. 4-32gb recommended.
If you just wanna get rolling again then get whatever the cheapest one available is.
If you're going to continue to use it, try and get a class 4 card or better, it will help with bigger file transfers.
LisaBham,
Yes, you probably will need a microSD card and it's good to get one that comes with an adapter so it fits in a SD slot to read/write. Also, if your computer does not have
a built-in reader that reads micro- or SD cards, you might need an adapter to USB.
Main thing is that you have two options, it looks like to me:
1. If you have a microSD card, you can make a CWM Recovery card out of it. Then
you can possible load CWM and get it to work even though you at looping (and BTW,
that's not your fault -- G-Tabs just do that one in a while.):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1020747
If you can get CWM loaded and up, go to Advanced and run the Partition (2048 and 0)
option and the Fix Permissions Option and the Wipe Dalvik Cache option. Then go back to the Main Menu and run the Wipe Cache and Wipe/Reset Factory Data.
The shut down, boot and see if the G-Tablet will come up and work.
2. If one doesn't fix the looping problem, then you will need to continue and nvflash
back to a fresh, stock copy of the os.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=861950
If you follow this thread all the way through, it installs a copy of bekit 1105 which is stock version 2638. Assuming that boots and runs, the when you hook up the wifi
connection it shortly will offer you an OTA (over the air) upgrade to 3588. Then
you are back to where you can do what you want to.
Hope this helps.
