Your Favourite Niki Apps - Touch Dual, MDA Touch Plus ROM Development

Ok, thought i'd do this so we can look for new apps easily, as we all will have something that someone else hasn't! And will save people (myself included) from trawling the forum every day for something new to play with!!
So Far:
TouchFlo Tweaker for polaris, but seems to work fine with my nike
SetVolume nifty full screen volume changer, change volume by moving finger round dial + set vibrate, mute, etc. by pressing middle button
pRSSReader free and great, Today plugin feature too
Batti shows battery bar at top of screen, change height, colours, frame, percentages, always on top etc. nice if you don't want wisbar, etc. installed for this feature
GroupSMS click menu in sms options then add group of recipients in one go, great for calling the herd to watering hole!
HushSMS *cof*cof* shhhhhh, great for messing around with friends, use responsibly!
BatteryStatus nuff said
dcinobar get rid of the bottom taskbar, who needs it!? you might need to toggle in and out of landscape view after bootup just to get today plugs on bottom bar
NikiSimFix hide sim contacts
SlideActions excellent app to end call on slider down action plus other nifty addons to help lock phone in call, etc.
PocketRar winrar, need i say more
ok, i've showed you mine, now you show me yours!!

Resco explorer, registry & Keyboard - The best solution for it.
Schap's advanced configuration - Excelent tweaker
PDA light - Small executable that turns the pocket into a flashlite, with several colors optionable.
Spc clone & plus 4 + transparent iconset - Again, the best solution for backups and Tabs.
nueLED 1.5 - To customize the led colours.
pdg minimal dialer clean - My favorite dialer skin at the moment.
icontact 0.72 + lycox diamond skin - The best contact manager, now even better.
Softick card export 0.8 - The only solution to use the pocket as a pen.
Slideactions - The greatest tweak exclusive for dual.
Wisbar advance 3 - My favorite skinner.
IGO8 + wm6.1 fix - Map viewer, in 3D (I dont have GPS).
MyMobiler - My favorite "use pocket thru pc" solution.
Pim backup - The only solution for contact backups
TCMCP & Coreplayer - The best solution for video.
---edited---
I think the links are all fixed now.

@TWolf can you supply the links also when they are found in this forum. I did a search for PDA light and didn't find the program, it did find a lot of threads on backlight settings though.
The ones I ussually install apart from ones already stated above:
- Total commander: file explorer and Registry editor
- Modaco NoData: switch off data connection while roaming
- FBTV: Dutch TV Guide
- Google Maps
- Sprite Backup, the name explains itself. Came with the install cd supplied with the device.
- Stay Unlock: prevents your exchange server to force a lock policy onto your device.
- Opera Mobile: alternative browser which displays normal pages very good on your Nike.

thanks ! iContact looking good, will give it a whirl when i unbrick my device :S

great thread! a couple i think are cool:
s2u2
spb weather
phontuner - musical instrument tuner, guitar tuner etc, very useful for me.
pocketgravity - fun gravity game
pocketpicture - nice paint program
bluezard - for searching through peoples phones files via bluetooth (naughty)
webcameraplus - turn your nike into a webcam

Forgot to mention Kaisertweak with my own tweak file: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=395478
And thanks twolf for the links!

I'm a huge fan of SPB Mobile Shell.

good good
another one i like is ArielBattery covers start menu icon (or move wherever you like along topbar) with battery icon with % and custom colors

WeatherPanel free today weather plugin
cLaunch tabbed today screen app launcher, oh and free too!
youtube playerhttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=385227 free, but you'll need HSDPA connection (or maybe EDGE will do), but very good, and yes free!

First thing I always do is install esmertec java (or jbed) then opera mini (mini.opera.com) - far and away the best fastest browser.

SMS-Chat:
http://iwindowsmobile.com/threaded-sms-messaging.html
pretty sleek and simple threaded sms messaging app.
it also has a "notification" feature that displays the text message you receive on your screen

Icons are displayed wrong.

Hi fellas if you have .swf rewrite the end to cab instead of swf and you got it
Nice program, runs well on the Touch Cruise.
Thanks!!!!
Am i missing somthing? All im getting is a black background with iphone icons lke in the pic. NO i phone amamations when hitting an icon... I dont see anythng special about this thing. Again am i missing a file?
Great Start
The basics are all there and ssj5trunks deserves a lot of credit for a very good first beta.
However, I found it quite slow and I started getting memory errors within a few minutes of starting to use it. I also got a fair few program errors.
With a little more work this has great potential but I may just wait a little longer until some of the bugs are ironed out.
Great job though, please stick with it.
No bugs for me at this moment, a lot of things to customize. Verry good job for the author.
A little bit more faster and is perfect !

[ROM] - 06/12/2009 - LouzeBerry - 6.5/21812 - Original TF3D + Fuzeberry

'LouzeBerry' 6.5 ROM -- Version 061209 (changelog below)
This is my latest personal build. I'm posting it because I didn't notice any chefs putting together 6.5s with the standard TF3D, and I figured there might be people like me who are waiting until xboxmod gets done with converting the shipped version of TF3D2 to make the switch.
Getting to know this ROM:
* 6.5 Build 21812
* TF3D STANDARD with the FuzeBerry theme (turned off by default in favor of the new 6.5 Titanium interface; you can switch it in the Today settings).
* FuzeBerry for the 6.5 Titanium interface.
* Rhodium menu enhancement
* Tachi-style notifications (uninstallable)
* Opera 9.5 16277, Advanced Config, Google Maps, Titanium Customizer, Total Commander, Weathermaster (all uninstallable)
* HTC Album 2.5, with the social networking uploaders. I'm not crazy about the new behaviors 3.0, or about the fact that the uploaders aren't currently included in that version.
* Available with and without HTC on-screen keyboards.
* User Customization compatible.
(See further notes in next post)
061209B-KB - With HTC Keyboard
061209B-NOKB - Without HTC Keyboard (makes installing third-party keyboard easier)
- Updated to 21812. Scrolling is getting SNAPPY.
- Switched from HTC's Config Setup to WM6.5's
- Several updated packages, including a more WM6.5-friendly version of the HTC Task Manager
* Please re-download if you grabbed the original version. Corrected version is 061209B.
* If you have trouble starting YouTube: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3953769&postcount=124
Other recommended build:
052109KB - With HTC Keyboard
052109NOKB - Without HTC Keyboard (makes installing third-party keyboard easier)
- Returned to 21222 SYS. To put it eloquently, it's many much more betterer. Seems faster than the newer builds, and several people in the kitchen thread report minor bugs with 21231/2 they didn't see in 21222.
- Updated Google Maps. Street View!
- New Bluetooth driver. Da_G's description: It "has been modified to remove AVRCP being tied directly to WMP, that is it should function with whatever app you're using that supports AVRCP control now."
- New keyboard driver. The home key now calls the start menu (hitting the end key, as before, will get you to the home screen)
- Some new wallpapers. Hope you like indy chick rockers and/or bluegrass-informed acoustic alternative. Want an LB wallpaper that exactly matches the color of the current welcomehead (hey, I think it looks nice)? Download the "Blueback.zip" attached to this post (made it after the build).
(Previous changelogs in next post)
MobileMatt, Mr. Fuzeberry himself, is now mirroring the ROM at http://www.fuzeberry.com/ may not always be the latest build)
Many thanks to Da_G for the kitchen, NRGZ28, Captain_Throwback, At0mAng for his own kitchen and patience, MobileMatt for creating Fuzeberry and mirroring LB, davitru for more mirrors, and all the other usual peeps.

Important Notes:
* Standard dialer, but skinned to look much nicer than it does by default.
* HTC Volume is omitted, because it won't change in-call volume without the HTC Dialer. Instead includes an app that looks almost identical
* Keyboard configured for the Fuze. Use this if you've got a non-Fuze Touch Pro.
* Removed certain redundant TF3D tabs. If you want them back, disable TF3D and unzip this to your windows folder.
* Any trouble installing items or accessing 'net with with JBEd? Go into JBed's network settings and manually pick the network appropriate for your carrier. Only a concern under certain network setups for the phone.
* Not everyone loves the Tachi notifications; they don't always act like you'd think. You can uninstall them under "Remove Programs." That will get you the default WM-style notifications. If you want the HTC-style large-button notifications (like on the stock ROM), install this as well.
* Beginning with 050609, the BioTouch files that are the core of the TouchFlo finger-scrolling are omitted, as they interfere with WM6.5's own scrolling in some cases. The practical upshot is that finger scrolling should be improved in many applications, but it won't work at all in YouTube. But using this application, you can scroll through YouTube (and lots of other stuff) nice and quickly with the scroll wheel. If you really can't live with this, install this cab for the old behavior (YT scrolling may still be choppy).
* Don't like the FuzeBerry look? Dirty commie.
--- Install this cab (updated 051809 - redownload if you got it before then) to get back the original WM6.5 icons in Titanium and the Start Menu.
--- Install this cab to get back the original Start Menu icons, but to keep Titanium in the FuzeBerry Theme.
--- And this to put TF3D back to the default look.
Warning: By doing any of this, you sacrifice super-awesomeness.
* Want an HTC Dialer back? Try the Tachi dialer. Caveats: It doesn't work in landscape, and the edit contact function won't do anything without TF3D2. But it does let you uninstall SetVolume and get HTC's Volume Rocker back (you can install HTC Volume w/o an HTC Dialer, but you won't be able to change in-call volume).
Older downloads/changelogs (see first post for most current changelog):
052709KB - With HTC Keyboard
052709NOKB - Without HTC Keyboard (makes installing third-party keyboard easier)
- Upgraded to 21725. Da_G says this is almost certainly 6.5.0.1
- New build brings a faster, slightly nicer IE. Also brings updates to all the widgets, and the return of the weather widget. They're faster and slicker than before.
- Minor tweaks and cleanup. Updates the "Rock and Republic LB" theme with a slightly different wallpaper (now matches the color of the welcomehead)
- Also adding today to Post No. 2: "Partial DeFuzeBerrify" cab, to keep the FuzeBerry look on Titanium, but to get original WM6.5 icons on the Start Menu. If you want more visual consistency on the Start Menu, but want to keep the grooviness of FuzeBerry elsewhere, this is good compromise.
052109KB - With HTC Keyboard
052109NOKB - Without HTC Keyboard (makes installing third-party keyboard easier)

051809KB - With HTC Keyboard UPLOADING - mirror by davitru
051809NOKB - Without HTC Keyboard (makes installing third-party keyboard easier) - mirror by davitru
- FINALLY organized the Start Menu.
- Speed tweaks
- Changed Connection Setup settings so it won't notify you automatically on first normal boot (was like this until a few builds ago). Make sure you run it manually if you're not prompted for setup during initial customization (you might be, depending on if/how you did your sdconfig.txt)
- Updated the Defuzeberrify cab from the post below (link is the same; file has been replaced) to include the folder icons for the organized start menu).
- Note (discovered after cooking): MP3 Trimmer is installed, but the lnk is missing from the Start Menu. It's in the Windows folder, and you can copy it into the Start Menu from there.
051609KB - With HTC Keyboard - mirror by davitru
051609NOKB - Without HTC Keyboard (makes installing third-party keyboard easier) - mirror by davitru
- Moved to 21232
- All MS Widgets now included
- Note: This is (probably) the last build where I'm leaving the Start Menu a big, flat mess. My weekend project is finally getting it organized.
051409KB - With HTC Keyboard - Mirror by davitru
051409NOKB - Without HTC Keyboard (makes installing third-party keyboard easier) - Mirror by davitru
- Moved to brand-spankin' new build, 21231
- Added "MyPhone"
- NetCF3.5 is now installed during initial customization, instead of cooked in, for better compatibility with 21231
- Minor additions/enhancements that come with the new kitchen
050609KB - With HTC Keyboard. Mirror by davitru.
050609NOKB - Without HTC Keyboard (makes installing third-party keyboard easier). Mirror by davitru.
- Fixed Initial Customization error in 050509KB version
- "Comm Mgr" in the Titanium Home screen now properly opens the Comm Manager, instead of the clock.
- The Biotouch.exe/Biotouch.dll files have been removed. See important notes in the next post on the impact of this.
050509KB - With HTC Keyboard
050509NOKB - Without HTC Keyboard (makes installing third-party keyboard easier)
- Moved to 21222, brand new build. With it comes improvements to IE, and possibly more responsive scrolling.
- No more freezes starting an SMS (hotfix was available in last version)
- PTT Button brings up new-style Comm Manager by default on Fuze
- New Welcomehead & Purple LB Wallpaper
050109KB -- with HTC Keyboard
050109NOKB -- NO HTC Keyboard (makes installing third-party keyboards easier)
- Moved to 21215, and a new kitchen. Should be snappier, and memory management should be better.
- I've disabled the automatic network setup on first boot. This prevents some people from having to go through it twice if something in their personal UC triggers it. Go to Start --> Settings --> Connections and select Connection Wizard to get set up.
- New Welcomehead, new versions of the wallpapers.
- Added in Adobe Reader
- HOTFIX: If you have freezes typing in names for an SMS, install THIS (only affects the KB build)
Older versions based on 21500 here.

Sounds good! Ill be watching for updates.
Hey smith great roms, especially the latest one here its simply amazing. I have a few quirks that I have found. For a while now the last few of you roms have a bug where it shows the old style comm manager when using the PTT button. But the link in Start menu>settings>connections>comm manager is the right kind. I use the comm manager a lot do disable and enable 3g to save battery and not being able to get to it quickly is very bad.
Also could you add weather to the WM6.5 home menu like the mystic series rom.
Otherwise great rom.

I agree if when using settings, personal, buttons, and select comm manager that it lets us select the full comm manager that gives all the options. This would be a nice feature. For the weather thing just use chome editor bro, thats what i do to add panels/pages/etc. Thats not a biggie at all.

That Comm Manager issue has long been on my "Bugs me, but not a whole lot, and I've got other stuff to do" list for a while. But tonight I took a crack at it and came up with a fix:
Go into \Windows\Start Menu with Total Commander, and rename "Comm MAnager.lnk" to "Communications.lnk" -- or whatever name you might prefer. Then go into the Buttons control panel and select your newly renamed link. From now on, the button will go to the new manager.
"Comm Manager" will still be an option on the list, and you can switch to that if for any reason you ever decide you want the old-style manager (not that I can imagine you would).
It'll be set up that way by default in the next build. Edit: This is fixed in the current build.
If anyone's curious, the problem is that the button was actually pointing to a "comm manager" link in the Appbuttons folder, not the one in the start menu, and so long as both had the same name, only one would show up in the buttons control panel.
-----------
For the weather, I'm shying away from tools and plugins that are still under very active development. They get upgraded too quickly for me to feel it's very useful to include them in a ROM (although I certainly have done a ton of ROM updates over a short time, that should slow down now that virtually all kinks are worked out). I recommend setting up an SDConfig.txt file on your SD card to have anything like that installed by User Customization on the initial boot (that's how I have both Fav People and Titanium Weather getting installed on my own Fuze).
Hi Lou
after 041709B i flashed your new rom. Since now its excelent rom. I try it and give feedback. Is there any way to customize TF3D (add or remove Tabs) and change softkeys in it?

Schaps advanced config 3.3 that should be cooked into the rom bro. Go to settings, more settings, then see tf3d towards the bottom for tabs and at the top youll see something for the softkeys.
Thank's bro i run Advanceconfig but i didn't know about more settings.
I believe those softkey settings in Adv. Config are for the stock Today screen (what you get if both Titanium and TF3D are turned off, and you're using traditional Today plugins), not for the softkeys that appear in TF3D. But you can change the TF3D ones with these registry settings:

Non, adv config soft keys settings also works for tf3d, just not for chome. Though there is a simple way with chome with reg editor, go to hklm, software, microsoft, chome, then at the bottom is the reg for the left soft key. Now in that chome folder is also every panel that is active on chome and u can click any of those and change those left and right soft keys if you like. Only problem is i have no idea how to link them.
For example, the left soft key url is :MSCONTACTS. Now i have Icontacts installed to the phone, how do i find the Icontact's url to repleace the above? Id be golden if i could figure out how to find programs urls and how to link them in reg editor.

I don't have icontact installed to check it, but looking at the cab, it should probably be:
\Program Files\iContact\iContact.exe

The issue was supposed to be resolved a few versions back, but I just discovered I goofed on the registry key. This solves a conflict that exists between WM6.5's own name-lookup and the HTC keyboard's name-lookup.
Problems with 5-1-09 rom
Hey there. It's the noob again.
I flashed your latests rom yesterday and have noticed the following issues.
Just want to make sure it's not something I'm doing wrong or if this is a "feature" of the rom.
1. When I want to close an app, I click on the X in the top right hand corner. On previous ROMS, that would close the app, but now it just minimizes it.
2. Have you found a way to link soft keys for CHOME yet? Advance Configuration manger changes the keys, but after you reboot, it reverts back to default (contacts).
3. When I click on the toolbar for a notification (Examples: sprite backup report, New email, etc) it takes me to the Notification screen, I tap the notification and: sprite asks to review the report, I tap yes and it just takes me back to the Home screen. On Emails, I tap the “New Mail” and nothing happens until I tap “close” or “Dismiss All”
Thanks - Markmi300

1. This is a configuration choice (all my ROMs have been this way). You can change it by going to Start -- > Settings --> System -- Task Manager (note: there are two different control panel items called Task manager, you want the one with the gray icon). Select "button" and you can change this to the behavior you're used to.
2. I haven't been looking for a way to change this (I like the default just fine for this), but check out the threads in Development and Hacking for CHome/Titanium editors. There might be a way to do this under there; not sure.
3. That's the Tachi/Topaz-style notification screen. It's not perfect, in particular when not paired with TF3D2. Aware of the flaws, I made it uninstallable. It's listed as "HTC Tachi Notification Enhancement" under "Remove Programs." If you uninstall it and so a soft-reset, you'll be back to the standard WM-style notifications. I've flipped-flopped in the past on dropping it entirely.
Just cabbed this up, and will add it to the first post:
If you want the HTC-style large-button notifications (like on the stock ROM), after you uninstall the Tachi notifications, install this.

See - That's why I'm liking this Thread and your ROMS more everyday.
You actually HELP people. Where on other threads that I've posted, my questions usually just gather dust.
Thanks again.

I help where I can. But in all fairness to the other chefs (many of whom I owe thanks for their help with packages, questions, etc), their threads are a lot busier so it's a lot easier to get lost in the noise. .

|July 4|RAPH| .¸¸.·´¯`·.¸¸.-|Energy| 21916|29022 - Sense 2019 / 2.1 / Titanium

Welcome to the "EnergyROM" thread !
This development thread is for my "Energy" custom firmware series for the HTC Touch Pro (Raphael) device.
The current build numbers and date can be seen in the title of this thread. I usually update the ROMs about twice a week, as new builds come down the pipe or as new software/updates are available.
I build my ROMs with four main goals.
Eye candy ( I want my ROM to look great and for it to all flow together nicely)
Speed !!!
Smoothness, consistency and good aesthetics
Stability through private beta testing before public release
I pre-configure a lot of things in my ROM, because when I flash it on my phone, I want it ready to go. So, expect the backlight to be set at the maximum brightness, the ringtone, sms/email and other notifications to already be set. Doing it this way, makes for a nice ROM that's ready out of the box.
I recommend learning to backup your settings with either Sashimi or UC (User Customization). Backing up with SPB Backup or similar products, is NOT recommended, as they tend to backup the previous release's registry/file bugs as well!
Looking at the download folder you will find two core versions of my ROM.
The 21916 Build which is the most reliable, fast and bug free release. It has the Start menu button at the top left corner just like a stock ROM. I recommend you start with this first!
The 29022 Build that's the latest in the 6.5.X series with the Start menu button at the bottom left corner and big softkeys. These builds reflect the latest cutting edge technology from Microsoft. These are also much more finger friendly throughout.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You can stay up to date on the status of my ROM development by "following" me on Twitter.
It's definitely the fastest way to get in touch with me and please don't be afraid to tweet me if you see major issues with the ROMs.
I generally do not answer "support" questions on Twitter, as it's really not the proper medium for that. Service packs and quick fixes will always be released as links in my tweets and that's definitely the fastest way to get a fix for a ROM.
To follow me on twitter, click here!
If you own an European\Asian Touch PRO, use the "Keyboard Selector" application under Utilities > Tweaks (after you flash the ROM) to select the "Pro" keyboard layout. The ROM comes with the american AT&T Fuze layout enabled by default.
This post features all the Cookie Hometab based ROMs I make.
The original ROM is the "energy" version and that's a good starting point. All the rest, are themes applied to that ROM.
They all come in two versions, Cookie 1.8.5 and Cookie 2.0 (the ROM filename will be labeled "Cookie" and "Cookie.2.0, plus the name of the theme)
You can see more screenshots of these ROMs a couple of posts down.
The two Cookie versions look pretty similar, but Cookie 2.0 has multiple sliding homescreens/freely moveable widgets (similar to Android) and
quite a few more features and speed, however it's still in 'beta'. Cookie 1.8.5 is considered the less complicated and stable build for now.
My own 'Energy' style
This is the best ROM version and the way Sense should have been designed by HTC
Offers the biggest customization ability out of all versions. You can add/remove bars or items on the homescreen, arrange items any way you like, plus lots of extra features
Three built in lockscreens. "HD Mini" style, Manila style or Windows style
3 pages of quicklinks with a configurable amount of shortcuts displayed
3 Homescreen layouts to choose from, as seen in the above screenshots, all completely customizable !

Dinik's "Anastasia"
This ROM series is skinned with Dinik's great "Anastasia" theme applied on everything.
Everything has been skinned, including Sense, the start menu items, the soft keyboard, parts of the dialer... etc
_LeCiel_'s ".sencity"
This ROM is themed with the .sencity theme released by _LeCiel_ who is a very talented artist ! Please support his work if possible.
.sencity is not %100 complete yet, but _LeCiel_ is working hard on finishing his work to completely skin the entire ROM.
Link to the original thread for this mod is here > Click <
DJC & Bobsbbq's "Touch Of Glass"
This ROM series is skinned with DJC's "Touch of Glass" theme throughout Sense and the Start Menu
More will be skinned as DJC continues his work on the theme in the future...

ElCondor's "GTX"
This ROM has the white GTX theme applied
Android styled taskbar, matching dialer, matching start menu background and Action screen background
GTX is a total reskin of the operating system, so expect a very different (white) experience

'Standard' ROMs that have no addons installed on the homescreen. Stock Sense 2.5 !
'Energy'
This series retains the stock functionality of the Sense UI. The files have been compressed by "CFC" compression. making the UI lighter and faster
This ROM still retains my theme and style, plus all the regular apps you find in my ROMs.
There are no homescreen addon-ons in this ROM. The best speed and the most stock functionality.
MaxSense UI (android style homescreen)
This is a complete rewrite of the Sense homescreen, by maxycy.
It features a 3 screen, Android style, homescreen with widgets! The widgets can be placed ANYWHERE on the three screens.
75 Quicklink accessible on all tabs
You should really visit the original thread for this mod shown on the next line to see all the features!
Link to the original thread for this mod is here > Click <.
Titanium (ROMs for raw speed!)
This is a minimal ROM version without Sense in it. It's used primarily for people that like to customize the default 6.5 homescreen (Titanium)
You can use it to install alternate homescreen interfaces like SPB Mobile Shell, etc
Very low memory footprint and good battery life, but very simple and lacks a lot of features that you would otherwise have available in Sense...

ROM features at a glance:
Very fast startup time. You won't find any startup wizards in this ROM. You'll be up and running in a couple minutes after flashing the ROM and ready to go. No need to spend time to set everything up.
XDA_UC is built in. It will import your custom XML and REG files from your storage card after first boot.
My own Settings Exporter application is found in the Tools folder. Use it to export all your settings after you customize the device. When a new ROM comes down the line, use it to import everything and save time.
Everything is setup to use the phone right after flashing. Sounds, notifications, all options, etc
The HTC Messaging client is removed, leaving the windows built SMS client for much faster texting, but still able to use a nicely skinned Sense text messaging app with "iphone style" messaging bubbles.

Please do not trust your livelihood to something you have not tested, running on a custom ROM, built on top of a beta operating system with a UI ported from another device!
If you depend on it, test it first. After finding a version that works well for you, I recommend keeping a personal backup. That way if you flash a newer version and problems are found, you have something to restore to.
When you download a ROM, it is a compressed file, such as 7Z or ZIP.
If you cannot extract the ROM from the archive, get a recent copy of 7ZIP or WinRar.
Do not post about a bad archive without doing this.
==================================================
WHEN POSTING / IN GENERAL OR A QUESTION OR REQUEST FOR HELP
1. Post which version of the ROM - Sense 2.1, Sense 2.5, Cookie, Max Sense, Titanium, Max Manila, GTX
2. Post which windows version - 21907 or 23569
3. Accurately describe the problem. For visual issues, post screen shots. Shake And Save is included at Start->Tools
4. Wait at least 1 or 2 days, if not more before resposting. I personally read every post in this thread. I do this on my own time.
5. Describe things you have tried.
6. Provide step by step actions to reproduce when possible. Such as: Go to message tab. Press icon in upper right to start new message. Not: Start a new text message. Why? There is more than 1 way to do most things. Not all ways lead to problems. Provide your specific way to reproduce it.
7. Thread title might show a later date than the available ROMs. Here's why - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7137062&postcount=26583 so, don't post about it, unless it is more than 2 days later than the thread title and there aren't already posts about it. BASIC TROUBLESHOOTING
"Please remember that there are a lot of variables here and the ROM is just one of them. You may have any number of the following issues:
1) a bad flash
2) an application incompatibility issue
3) a simple settings problem
4) a large RF source in your pantsIf several people all determine that they have done XYZ and have problem ABC it may be that our chef can do something about it. Until such time, you have some troubleshooting to do. Namely;
1) Check your settings, sometimes, that is all it takes
2) Reset and test again
3) Hard Reset and test again
4) Flash the stock ROM and spend a few days noting the behavior as you add your software
5) Flash an NRG ROM and use it a few days without adding software
6) Start adding software until the problem occurs." ==================================================

BATTERY SAVING TIPS
The first few days
• There is nothing special about this ROM to make it use more power than other ROMs except that it is tweaked for performance over battery life. After things have settled down, you should get a couple of days usage out of a charge.
• Immediately after flashing, you will probably observe very poor battery performance. This is due to the charging circuit having to reset itself.
• The battery meter will not settle down and give accurate readings for a few battery cycles. Give it a few days.
• For the first few battery charging cycles, try to charge to 100% with phone off and then allow battery to drain down quite a bit before recharging. This is so the meter will calculate drain well.
Recommendations
• Make sure you followed all of the flashing instructions to the letter. Especially the part about the hard reset.
• Backlight is set to high. You might want to change that.
• 3G is on by default. Recommendation is to turn it off when you are not surfing the internet.
• Don't drain your batery all the way down until it dies. Not good for these types of batteries.
• The GPS sucks the battery dry. If you want to keep track of yourself, consider something like GPSToday that only wakes up the GPS once in a while.
• Maybe you don't really need aGPS enabled. Disable and check GPS lock times and battery drain.
• Applications that run from the storage card consume more power so install oft-used or background-type applications to main memory.
Troubleshooting
• If your radio does not match your rilphone.dll you can get crazy bad battery drainage. Use the recommended radio or spend some time working out a good combination for your phone/carrier/location/usage.
• Check to see that some application is not still running in the background. Check, do not assume. USe the full Task Manager application.
• Check to see if the screen is still on when you expect it to be off. Soft reset can fix that issue.
• Some radios work better with some carriers and locations. Asking everyone to tell you what radio to use may not give you the best answer. Be specific about your situation.
• More stuff you should see HERE
If you have tried all the above and still can't get over a day with moderate use, you may actually have a bad battery. Try getting a new one that is made by another manufacturer.

SD CARD WOES
Several people have reported problems with Class 6 SD cards. This is not limited to this ROM. Seems the hardware is finicky. Try Class 4 for better results.

Known Issues with current ROM
Remap of PTT and Long PTT don't work. Create a short cut to the apps you want. Name them Long_PTT.lnk and Short_PTT.lnk. Copy them to the windows folder.
Or install and use Tarkim's RaphKeyboardMapper and create a rule for PTT (Long and Short).
23xxx series does not use the HTC Volume Control. This is true with all 23xxx ROMs for the Raphael. 2 solutions. MarcLandis Volume Control located right here on xda-developers.com. Another great solution is VolumeEx, but it is trialware. I think it is only about $10 to register. It gives some really cool features, such as restoring your volume after a specified time. Perfect for meetings, so you don't forget to turn it back up.
Minor Known Issues with current ROM
1. Music shuts off when you play with no headphones and then shut off the
screen with the button on top. Not an issue when playing through wired headphones or A2DP devices. Also, not an issue if you just wait for the screen to shut off.
2. 23xxx series ROMs don't rotate apps through the G-Sensor. There are 3rd party apps to handle this, such as ChangeScreen or Gyrator. (I have nto tried Gyrator).

Note: AT&T send limit is 600k or 614400. AT&T recieve is 1MB or 1024000.
AT&T and probably T-Mobile do not require changing the settings to send an MMS.
Setting limits higher than what your carrier supports will result in a failed send or receive.

The XDA_UC cooked in my ROMs is modified from the stock XDA_UC made by Noonski. Great addon, by the way... Noonski did a great job with this !
The version in my ROMs is trimmed down to fit the needs of my ROM series.
Some of the extra features are:
It will copy shortcuts (.lnk files) found in \XDA_UC\Start Menu\ to the device's start menu folder (\windows\Start Menu) in the hierarchy that it finds on the storage card. For example: Let's say you have a navigation package on the storage card, like Navigon. If you make a shortcut to the navigon.exe file as Navigon.lnk and copy it to \XDA_UC\Start Menu\GPS\ as "Navigon.lnk" then on a fresh ROM install it will copy any shortcuts it finds there to the same location on the device, so it'll end up in \Windows\Start Menu\GPS\. This works for other folders on the Start Menu as well. Just put the shortcuts in \xda_uc\Start Menu\ in the folders you will like the shortcuts to appear to, on the device.
It will copy a custom splash screen from \Storage Card\XDA_UC\welcomehead.192.png to \windows automatically and overwrite the one in the ROM.
It will copy a custom Sense background found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\sense\wallpaper_sense.png to the device and set that wallpaper as default in Sense. So rename your wallpaper as "wallpaper_sense.png" and drop it in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\sense\ and on the next ROM flash that wallpaper will become your wallpaper in Sense.
Other than that XDA_UC works as designed by Noonski and it will do the following things:
It will automatically import your PPCbackup (*.pib) file found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\
It will install custom XDAS scripts found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\
It will silently install CAB files found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\
It will install special CAB files that require user input (such as Agreements or any type of prompt) found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\SD
It will silently import REG files found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\
It will silently install REG files found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\Exporter, as exported by my own Settings Exporter, ONLY if the "automatic" file is also present in that folder (and it most cases it should be, enable that option in the Settings Export application's menu)
It will silently import XML files found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\
It will silently import CER files (usually Exchange certificates) found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\
It will silently run custom MSCR files found in \Storage Card\XDA_UC\
That's it, but don't forget to checkout the Addons folder and look in the XDA_UC section for tips and tutorials on how to export your email/wifi settings and various little .reg and tweaks you can add to your XDA_UC collection.
As always don't forget to check what installs automatically before reporting a problem with the ROM. Most of the time, if you notice you have a problem that nobody else is experience is because one of the cabs you dropped in the XDA_UC folder is installing automatically while you don't even think about it.
Absolutely awesome ROM! Your hard work and dedication is greatly appreciated....

Can't Wait
I can't wait!!!! i need to pee but im holding it in waiting for the download i cant wait lol J/K lol just wanted to be funny
VERY nice! One question:
creating a new SMS-with other ROM's I could just start typing in the "to" field and it would automatically search my contacts. here i have to hit "enter" which brings up a contacts list then type the name. Is this a setting i can change or a bug?
thanks again...GREAT ROM!!

Makes me smile seeing my Rom on XDA
no problem ,,,, need to spread the word
ok guys and gals this is a top notch ROM. I have been on the HAZE for 5 days now and it rocks, very stable and quick as well as great on battery.
I have tried many ROMS, some good, some great but none as total a package as HAZE! Granted this ROM is not as loaded as other ROMS because it takes for granted most users have there own tweaks and apps they want on there phone. But if you are into the simplicity of Titanium then look no further this is the ROM for you.

Happy to hear it is working well for you thanks for posting your feedback.
V1.2 is in the works and should be live this weekend.
Not going to be a HUGE update just cleaning up the start menu and moving programs into the appropriate folders. Other additions will be more enhancements and little fixes.

Pretty hard to see some of the fonts against the dark background. ie when I make a call, I can't see who I'm dialing very well. Can this be changed by the user?
I have been using 1.1 for a week now and it is the most responsive Rom I have tried. Although I aggree it is dark on the dial screen I feel it is a small price to pay.

Yes it is dark in fact 90% of the Rom is dark. Uses less resources and allows for better battery life.
Not sure I see where the dial pad is dark...
When I dial out the numbers are black against a white background.
Once you do dial out and the tachi dialer canvas comes on then yes its a light Gray on a black background. Not impossible to see but not that easy as well. Ill look at changing this to white for future releases.
Happy you are both liking the Rom.
Sorry i meant the connecting screen is dark. It is only important because these phones are so tempermental that you need to be sure the phone is dialing the number you want it too.

Yes that one can be..
Ill look at making it lighter.
Just downloaded last night and been using it all day. Only had one issue so far (which is AMAZING). When I got a text from somebody I didn't know and tried to add that person as a contact, nothing happened. The button changed from silver to green but nothing after that. Otherwise all I can say is impressive.

Thanks for the feedback.
I could not test this on my phone as I don't have a number to Text me that's not in my contact list. I did try using my work phone to call me and then use the "enter as contact" option. That worked with no problems. Ill see what I can come up with. Try holding the option down longer, not just tapping it.
I am hoping to have HazeV1.3 out tonight or early tomorrow.

Touch Dual UI?

Hi all,
Just spent an eternity looking everywhere for UI's and still none the wiser...
* Whats the latest Manila ver for Touch Dual on 6.1?
* Is there a Marketplace with the correct text/menu sizes?
* Can you mod the buttons for long & short presses? (eg short press red button lock - long press quick tasks)
* Have programs/settings in list format instead of icons (Start>Programs/Settings)
I suppose i'm just really looking to show off my handset. The Touch Dual is still a brilliant handset and deserves it place
