Hi,
Does anyone know of any way to change the keypad sounds from the standard DTMF tones when dialling a number? I used to have a keypad sound theme installed on my old SPV that spoke the number of the key you pressed out aloud in a female android like voice (eg pressing the one key would result in "one" being spoken out aloud). It was pretty cool and I wouldnt mind something similar on my dual.
Cheers

first of all happy new year!!!
i like the default lock on my wm 6.5 rom but the problem is that when i use this default lock and have incoming call the hardware buttons aren't locked, is there a way that these hardware buttons can be locked when there is an incoming call so i can answer the call only by on screen slider, without installing apps like phoneshield, s2u2, etc.
i've used the search and read threads but i couldn't find the way to do this. thx
sorry i should post this theme in blackstone themes, applications and software.
problem solved: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=556801
By default, the phone screen on the HD2 shows all Calls and Contacts. To get to your Speed Dial entries, you must hit Menu->View->Speed Dial. Not the speediest of things, and defeats the purpose of a "speed dial".
Does anyone know of a regedit to default the selection to "Speed Dial" rather than "Calls and Contacts"?
I couldn't find an answer in these forums, although I saw a few others asked the same thing... one poster referred me to co0kies home tab (which I use), but couldn't find any reference/solution to my dilemma.
Any one have a suggestion/answer?
Thanks!
I dont know if its possible to default the screen to speed dial, but the next best suggestion i can offer is setting up your home screen to your contacts there instead. if you dont have enough icons u can always use CHT to get more.

I use CHT and have a link to Contacts, but it would be really nice to have "Speed Dial" work as a one-button (or minimal keystroke) solution to frequently called numbers. Of course voice command helps too, but the Speed dial is a really nice feature I miss from the "stock" WM Dialer.
CHT even give you an avatar, only one click, instead of run phone panel first.
I think WM's speed dial is no way better than that...
By the way, the really fast way to active spead dial, which also worked on original WM dialer, is to keep the related botton on the dialer pressed for about one second, and there it goes. For e.g. keep "1" pressed to call your voice mailbox.

I just checked out the CHT shortcut you mentioned. Works great... I must have overlooked the ability to shortcut a "contact". Also, just checked out the "number long-press"... also a feature I wasn't aware of (I knew it was supported in WM 6.0 but didn't even think to try it in 6.5).
Anyway, now for curiosity sake, I'm still interested to find out where in the registry (if at all), the HTC dialer stores the default selection.
Thanks for the tips.
Hi, and first of all thank you xdadevelopers for your work! awesome I can have my xperia updated to 2.1 rooted here in Spain!
Now my question is if is possible to disable vibration on the dialpad, 'cause I can't find the option.
I know it's a little silly question but it's bothering me, thank you.
I think you can find the option in settings, sound and display?
but not sure.
thanks but there only can remove sound not vibration
when using the keyboard use the settings button looks like a repair tool there you can disable if is not there go to settings, check keyboard and uncheck it from the default keyboard option, same applies for android one

this works for the keyboard but no effect on dialpad, and when on dialpad settings buttons does nothing.
thank you anyway
Try going into settings "Sound and Display, and untick "Haptic Feedback". It says that it "vibrates when pressing soft keys and on certain UI interactions". Maybe that's the one you're looking for.
i have the same question, i can't remove the vibration on the dial pad.
send from x10a flash with x10i nordic 2.1
I have looked all over forums and internet and I have found no one who is able to disable the vibration from my HTC EVO 46. I cannot stand the dial pad lay out and it showing the call history right above it and can't seem to find a replacement for that either that will be my default phone dialer, not something I have to additionally go to.

Not working, tried almost every option i found on settings regarding vibration and still with no solution, anyway it's not a problem actually, just bothers me it can'be deactivated, thanks everyone.
Same here, my phone vibrate every time i press a number in the dialpad... its sux!
I have an I-747 (ATT) SGS 3 and it's stock rooted.
I have only had the phone a couple of days and I've noticed the phone touchtones are missing. There's no touchtone sounds when dialing a number and when entering a key on the keypad like to enter a VM password, I get this ugly monotone sound on each key. In other words it doesn't sound like a touch tone phone. Is this normal?
I've installed the STock ROM via Odin and it still does this.
Normal? if not how can I fix it?
Its in your settings
Menu Button>Settings>Sound>Keytones

Prolly need to modify each keys sound file to be whatever touchtone sound it should be for each. I dont see any touchtone items in the accessibility settings either.

Not there
Im out of ideas, maby its in the manual somewhere?
Im perplexed. I'm assuming the tones are built in to the dialer apk ill pull one from a rom and move it to the phone and see what happens.
I think it must be a hardware problem. I just installed the latest OTA through KIES and the problem persists. Very strange because I get touch tones in go dialer.
If anyone cares...
I chatted up Samsung Tech support today and was informed that this is normal.
The dialer doesn't do touchtones.
when i dialing numbers i hear " the same ding tone" for every key i press 0123456789
i didn't find anywhere how to change it to normal numbers tune or something else
anyone know?
thanks
As far as I know, every phone has done this for years for security reasons. You can change default dialer app on android. There may be a 3rd party on the store that does what you're looking for. To change default, settings, apps, default apps. Good luck!
