Not enough information to tell from your post. Answer is not likely to work as the typical microdrive is the size of a CF card. MD in Athena is smaller and has a special connector, not the stnadard CF type.
i think he means the microdrive and a 6GB microsd with micro to mini adapter. will it all work. answer i believe is yes as it works on hermes, kaiser. windows mobile and our 624MHZ processor will handle it. ultimate confirmation will be when me and ltxda order our 6gb microsds in the near future. ultimately ltxda will prob tell us first if it works or not.
thanks , sorry yes i wanted to mean microsd

The Herald supports micro SDHC. Which, theoretically, maxes out at 32gb.
Does it straight-up support SDHC, or does it require some sort of program or reflash?

I've got a 8GB SDHC card.. Works like a dream. Only music is a bit of a problem! but oh well..
8Gb SDHC, no problems, just plugged right in. On the funny side I had to buy a new cardreader for my PC due to the fact that it supported only 4Gb.
How to read MicroSD card on PC?
I have 2GB MicroSD card that comes with the Wing. I can use ActiveSync to transfer files from my PC to the card without problem, but at a very slow speed. For large movie files around 1GB, I thought I could put the MicroSD in the card reader on the PC and copy the file over faster. However, my Win XP insists that the card is not formated or the format is unknown. Do I need any special driver for my PC to be able to read/write to the Wing MicroSD card? Thanks.
I've found the 8gb sdhc cards but cannot find any 16gb or larger cards. Anyone know where I might be able to find them?
Thanks

Card reader BUILT INTO the PC? I've seen a laptop (a few years old) with a built-in reader that was incompatible with the MicroSD+SD adapter. The $10 25 in 1 reader by Targus that I got at Radio Shack works just fine.

same here! I didnt even get a card with mine at all
this question has been asked before too, though model was different...
Mine is XDA Atom WM2K5 only, not exec or life, any hack for 8GB or 4GB mini SDHC card to make it work?
Thanks in advance for your response....
I'm pretty sure the Atom won't take any SDHC cards. I have found that my Atom Exec will take a Topram 4gb mini sd card though. It isn't SDHC.

use the search function. go to hacking and dec section or from the accesories post for SDHC patch. believe it should work on WM5
@johnmrson.
Yes you are correct, it cannot use any SDHC cards. UNLESS you install the patch. hope this clarifies
Here are two SDHC driver for wm devices... (workin' on a o2 xda comet/atom life)
one for cards up to 4gb
the other for cards 4gb+
download here
(don't share URL outside xda dev)
Don't worked on my Atom Life..
Storage card is SanDisk 4gb
Confirmed SDHC Works!!!
SDHC.cab is confirmed as a fully functional driver for 4GB SDHC cards.
I am currently using SDHC.cab on WM5 and it is working perfectly.
I have yet to test any capacity higher than 4GB or test SDHC.777.cab
So I do not know if that is as stable and functional as the 4GB driver.
I will update when I test further.
And Thank You To Whoever Posted The Link To Download From Rapidshare Of SDHC. You Rock!!!
sdhc on wm6

make sure you test the mem card first before buying it! there are reports that some memcards doesn't work with the patch. Im using sandisk FYI
8GB micro SanDisk
I purchased an 8GB micro SanDisk card utilising a mini adapter for my Atom Exec and it works a treat. Shows up as 7782.50 MB. I'm using WM6.1 13 Feb 2008.
I'm using ATOM life official ROM (0.4.0) with SanMicro Mini SDHC 8G also, no problem.
Hi,
I have just bought a small hard dirve and was wondering how i could connect it to the xda II.
if you can find a sdio card which alow it
or if you use old wm2003 and got the backpack
and can find an cf card which alow it
then it can be don but in general i doubt it
himalya dont use a hd internaly at all
and 2.5" hd's use much more power then most pda's can provide without
external power
hard drive
hi,
I don't quite understand how to solder it in. Please help.

Nobody does!
What part of: the device doesn't have an HDD don't you understand?
Thread closed
you 99% surely cant solder a hd into it
the ram storage inside your himalya is flash and sdram which
are small chips a harddisk is much bigger and use much
more power and require a controller to opperate
