Carmageddon on DosBox?

Hello there,
Appologies if this is in the wrong section, but it seemed appropriate here. I don't know how many people on here grew up playing Carmageddon, but I know that it's a game I and many others have held dear for a long, long time.
Currently, I have got it working on my win7 pc, however I am not really experienced in messing with all the .ini commands within dosbox (and I know how notoriously picky it can be). I was wondering, has anyone managed to successfully port it across to the winmo version? Even partially? Obviously DX and openGL will probably not work, as it barely runs on a pc..
If not, does anyone have any advice on how to approach this? Any help would be much appreciated!
trying to help you
Hi ,
i ve got an S60 version years ago ...
don't know if there is a winmo one , i'm gonna take a look
Found some versions ...
But QVGA only and no on screen control , wich make it unplayable on HD2 ...
Sorry ...
i'm going to take a better look tonight ...
****ing enterprise proxy ....
Wasn't Carmageddon available on the playstation? Maybe FPSECE would be a better approach.
+1
+1
definitly the good idea ....
i can slap myself in the face
This thread has reminded me of how much I love Carmageddon, so I've already looked into buying a copy of the game
FPSECE
just tryed with 0.10 fpsece and a pal spanish game ..
No luck ... fpsece closed itself just after the first splashscreen , maybe my iso ...
cannot access compatibility list from work ....

I got that with a few different games and it was always the disc image. I ripped them at a slower speed and they all worked fine.

Looks pretty nice. Downloading now.
Thanks for the tip!
Great game!
Does anyone want to CAB this up for people who want an easier way to install it? Pretty please with an HD2 on top?
EDIT: No need. Extract to SD card and make shortcut and then have XDA_UC install that shortcut. Trying this out. Getting bored of all my other games now.
here you are...
anyways, that's the compressed way of cab. Meaning it could be not functionnal on some devices, according WinCABCE infos. Working, by the way, on my i900.
But the uncompressed .cab is about 12Mo, so... I've putted it in a .rar file. Well... it's not really different that the officiel .zip file, but now it's cabbed.
Ho-ly-crap Heroes 3 is pretty much my favorite computer game and I played palm heros 1.04 all the time this is pretty exciting I am loading it now. Thanks for the update.
here is a video
thx
cooooool, thank you

I did a quick research and it seems Sony and Sega are involved in this.
I can't understand why they banned Yongzh and don't do the same with all the garbage emulators that are rip-offs of his work.
WOW, i already run ver 2.0, but have not complete satify. I will try this ver
Thanks.

I agree man! There are still plenty of emulators, but none are half as good as his (at least that I've found).

How did you get this to work, as this forces me back to the game folder after launching the game...... I've tried with .bin, .img, .iso, and eboot files.. all same results...

Same thing here, It just blinks and goes back to the iso's folder...
Found a Psx3droid V2 1.1.2; dunno if it's from the original author or some kind of fork... but it works. Not as good as I would like to see, but it loads my Crash Bandicoot 3's backup.
Make sure you have the right version. I was running 3.0.6 and it would crash on me, but 3.0.7 should work without further configuration
ok I've been testin 3.0.7... performance is better than V2; but frameskipping is kinda agressive. it reports 50fps but when you remove frameskipping, it lowers to 42fps (with the obvious smoother movement)... anw, it's very good for a cellphone
Maybe some optimizations here and there and it'll be ready... I wanna test it with heavier games (graphically) like FF IX and see what happens...

Yeah, I know it's the right one... lol... was being sarcastic... I saw an article showing it working on 1.5.7.. so... if that's the case, not going back just to make this work.. this is a "wow, it's working, cool!' not a 'need to get this working' app... d(-_-)b

Get your facts straight. This has nothing to do with Sony or Sega.
Yongzh was kicked off the google market because snesoid used code from the Snes9x project where the license is strictly for no commercial use.
I'm surprised there isn't more legal action since he's made quite a bit of money from the snes9x code. From memory it was specifically the save/load code which was included in the paid version which caused this.
While I do agree Yongzh's emulators are pretty solid and more feature-complete than the others, I don't like the fact that the code is taken without honouring the license. All it would take is for another savvy developer to port snes9x or another free/open source emulator and release it for free as it should be.
Last but not least, PSX4Droid is NOT made by yongzh. It's made by ZodTTD. In the case of psx4droid ZodTTD has his account banned for similar reasons (violated GPL).

ahhhhh lol... well I'm even more glad I wasn't trying to be a jerk then =)
hi,
i just dl'ed all the files for psx4droid v2. i created the folder on the phone and got one game to work. i found out that i transfered the wrong files for FFVIII (rar files instead unrared). when i plugged the phone in again the PSX folder i created is no longer there but the space is still used. so right now i have 2 gigs of data i can't delete.
anyone else have this happen? or know what to do to access the file?
edit: as impatient as i am i just formatted my internal storage. got back the space taken up by the files, but still would like to know if anyone else's files disappeared.
edit #2: made a new folder, whenever i unplug the phone and replug it, anything that i put in there just disappears. i'm a total noob at this. the only other phones i access the memory through the desktop are G1 and an older sony phone. both had no problems showing newly created files.
Will try when I get home
