I loaded Garmin on my SD and then uninstalled it. However each time I remove/reinsert my SD card it opens a window asking me if I want to install Garmin. How do I remove this pop window asking me to install?
I have uninstalled the app...
do you still have the folder on your sd card called 2577 if so try renaming it to something else and see if it pops up when u re insert your sd card... that was the folder for my auto start. Mine asks me every time as well even on a freshly loaded rom.
same here, I think garmin creates it
i was having this same issue and removing the 2577 folder did the job to get rid of the auto start

I have a 128MB SD card, and I want to put some mp3s and videos on it, but I cannot see how to store it directly to the card. I dont have an external reader writer. So far I've been saving to the PocketPC's HD, then transferring to SD. But the files I wna tto put on it are to large to fit on my HD, even temporarily.
Thanks again

well you can get a 8-1 flash reader which read all know flash types for about 40$ but apart from that then maybe if you brows the pda when it's connected to the activesync you can get hold of the sd dir
When you have the xda connected to your pc with activesync just go to the files you wish to transfer to sd card, choose the files then right click and choose copy, you then go to "explore" in activesync, click on pocket pc then on storage card, right click then "paste"
cool
Thanks crusin-thru- worked like a charm.
dumber question-how do i delte stuff? I put some things on that need to leave now, and when I hit delete, it tells me the files I'm trying to axe cant be deleted. I've made sure they weren't running in any programs, in fact I closed all progrms to be sure. Tried it on and off the cradle.
Feelin' Silly
Try removing the sd card, reinserting, soft reset, then try deleting.
When I first got my vibrant there was a folder option, looks like it was something from THinkfreeoffice (not sure) that allowed me to select a folder on my SD card and it would automatically create links to those documents in a folder on the home screen. I loved this because I could keep powerpoints that I frequently use as notes in a, say "my documents/powerpoints" folder on my SD card. but ever since I rooted, that folder has disappeared and I can't seem to get it back. Anyone have any clues?
I am running CM7.1. I've installed Easy Install and have an APK file on the root of my SD card. When I open up easy install though nothing shows. I've turned off USB Debugging (don't know why that would matter). I reflashed my phone this morning just to make sure nothing was wonky. The SD card is a 32 gig class 4.
I found a different way to install it using Astro. Though it's weird. When I copied the APK to my sd card, all of my applications are looking at internal memory. Is there a setting I'm missing that's causing this? Once I copied it over to the non sdcard storage it showed up immediately. I must have a setting set wrong that's making everything look internally instead of at the SD card.
I used the instructions from iJimaniac to swap my storage from internal to external (love the mass storage now!) however all my apps that I originally had moved to the SD card have suddenly disappeared and now i have to remember and re-install them. I made a copy of everything under /mnt/sdcard and moved it to my external SD card before making the switch so that everything would still be linked ok. Any ideas on what went wrong? Note: i took everything on my external SD card and put it in a separate folder on my external SD card so I wouldn't lose any of that.
Well, I used a PC to copy .android_secure folder from the real external_SD to the new "fake" external_SD. If that doesn't work, I would copy back the original vold.fstab then move all apps to internal, then use modified vold.fstab and move your apps back to sd if you want. Remember to reboot after making a change. Several reboots might even be needed for all apps to show up (might want to try that before anything). Hope this helps!
Ok well the problem is apparently that the .android_secure folder on the sd card is empty. Strangely it also has no permissions and refuses to let me change it. Whenever i try to replace it with the full .android_secure folder it gives me a black screen and i have to restart. Any idea what might be wrong?
Well, it might not actually be empty, it looks empty when viewed with an android file browser, but when you look at it on a computer (might need to disable "hide protected system files" in windows folder options) you should see stuff in it. So, you need to copy the .android_secure folder FROM your REAL microSD card TO your REAL internal memory using a pc, not an android file browser. To be clear, I have figured out that android transfers the app to your sd card when you select "move to usb storage", so that can be deceiving. Your apps were on the sd card, but now you need to transfer them to your usb storage by moving the .android_secure folder. Hope you figure it out!
Ah something decided to start working again and all my apps came back! Thanks for your help!
No problem! What was probably wrong was your player was rebuilding the dalvik-cache. It sometimes takes a while I find. Glad you got it working.
Hello, since yesterday I have a serious and strange problem to your sd card. Let's start that I have a moto g lte first generation. So since yesterday I can't format my sd card, I can't erase the things that are above, I tried to find errors with pc but nothing, I did scan but nothing, though I can move files from sd card to your pc, I can hear the music with the songs placed on the sd, but the strangest thing is that if I update an application , and then with link2sd the move on the sd, gives me an error and if I reboot the phone, the application is no longer updated and is moved to the internal memory, 2.7 gb free space out of 8. If I try to copy some apps on the sd using link2sd I get says "install failed container error", while if I try to use solid explorer and press for information for both the sd card to the inner one, I get says "attempt to invoke a virtual method on a null object reference". I tried to format the sd card with sd formatter however tells me the card is protected. You know me, I'm going crazy ps apps that were wrapped with link2sd on the sd card, they work. :crying:
