I'm new to this forum but have found everything mentioned on it very interesting.
I have just purchased a Dual Touch which is completely covered in Orange bumpf. I have recently installed Niki Project Rom Editor v2.1.3 (WWE/ITA/GER/FRE/PTG/ESN ) by Tom_codon (Excellent bit of work it is too!!) however I still have the nasty Orange Startup and Shutdown screens. I realy want to remove these because they annoy me and look awful. Can anyone tell me how to either remove them totally or perhaps replace them with something better (maybe even a screen containing pictures of my own?

the main app i need is excel, plus a prog to print via ir to my dj450 printer(have been using printpocketce)

there are 2003SE roms wm5 roms wm6 early roms
personaly if your device works as it should now i prob would leave it alone as i cant say if printing would work with later roms

cant say its been working well?...had a few random hangs from time to time and there has been times where you get a call no ringtone heard and no way to answer it? h/ware buttons didnt work,touch screen button flashes like its been pressed but still didnt answer
only way i found to sort it out was a soft reset
so the main reason for the upgrade was an improvement in phone function rather than a printing issue?
think the main question i meant to ask really was which is the most stable version for this type of phone,most of the bugs sorted out?

i regreat to say i did try for update my spv m1000 today but my got died now when i tried i did conntect my ppc with ppc via bluetooth actvesync when i run HimaUpgradeUt.exe then a window open and shows mgs wait 30 minunt but after even 1 minunt got error also my phone got stop like dead and screen shows on top serial and on bottom it shows v1.3 i realy .sad. becouse now i cant reeboot also even ui have not data cable any body help me plz what i do now ?

Had a lot of hanging, on my M1000, but after upgrading to the WM2003SE WWE, the speed of the machine has improved a lot, and it does no longer hang, allmost no matter what I do.
I found that some of the build in Orange apps were the reason for "hangtime" and slowdowns, because if I tryed to install them, from the original Ext-ROM, all the problems came back.
So my experience is, that "Genuine English WM2003 SE " http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=230279 is a major improvement, to the Orange standard WM2003
I upgraded my SPV M1000 from Orange ROM to WM5 and now to Tofclock WM6 ROM, and it works fine. All features are ok for me, it's great!!!

Although I have a Kaiser, I still have my old vodafone badged Hermes which has been upgraded to WM6. However, it had the standard HTC green theme and no Home plugin or associated extras. I tried the 'official HTC' rom upgrade but it badged everything as a dopod and still didn't include Home.
Is there a working rom with the black theme, htc badged and including what I'm after?
You could just cook your own with the various themes in it?? Check out the pandora kitchen, its easy.

K's 1.30b full will probably be the best one for your needs.
Thanks for the replies. However, since I asked the question, my Hermes seems to have gone weird. It seems to be stuck on the screen align. It recognises each tap on the crosses but then starts again each time. I know that usually this is a sign of pressure elsewhere on the screen but I've stripped it down twice now and cleaned the screen each time. I've also checked the connections for shorts or damage and there are none.
Looks like this is a project 'on hold' for the moment...
Okay so I recently purchased an i-mate Spartphone I have a couple of questions that I couldn't find thru the search feature.
1st I was wondering is the phone I have a Qtek 8500 (I think thats what I read on here) it only says imate on the outside and smartflip below the inner screen and say's imate on loading.
2nd when I use the camera all I see is static no picture... is there a way to fix this or should I load a different rom? I am thinking of running the rose or neo rom anyways (I have to get on my home computer and do the unlocks first I believe)
3rd I am also new to Winmo phones so I was wondering if there was any nice apps that anyone could point me towards.

The phone is made by HTC but is also sold as other names such as i-mate smartflip.
I have an i-mate smart flip that I purchased on e-bay and was able to use the camera just fine with the original WM5 ROM. Though I must admit that after upgrading the ROM to Erofoch's Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional for HTC StarTrek the camera works even better with the camera night mode option.
This version of WM6 works amazing on this phone, it also has BatteryStatus set up with safe and quick overclocking.
It took me a while to figure out all the steps, there is so much great information in this forum that it can be a bit overwhelming. I was directed to this wiki web page which outlines the ROM upgrade process step by step. http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index...Trk_ROM_Update
For the Mobile 6.1 Pro ROM that I installed I only had to stop at step 2 because this ROM does the rest.

Okay I installed the Rose Rom by pampooh??(probably mispelled hope does not offend) anyways still just static on the camera not a huge deal for me I have a different camera phone for that purpose just was hoping it would fix it may be that I just got one with a bad camera but oh well
Yep, sounds like a bad camera. In general, when there is a driver issue, you will either get an error message when you launch the camera, or else a blank screen, but definitely not static.
iMate, Startrek, 3185, and a few other names are all the same phone. HTC sells the phone to Cellular carriers, and they can name it whatever they want. With the phone nerds here at XDA, the easiest way to refer to it is as "StarTrek", since this was the HTC code name for the phone. All the phones are basically alike, except for the Cingular/AT&T 3185, which has a larger battery, and twice the ROM (64MB instead of 32MB). You can buy the extended battery and associated back plate on eBay if you want it. All the versions of the phone run the same software and operating systems.
Software:
Tons of good software out there. What you will like is a matter of opinion. I can't live without:
1. Microsoft Voice Command 1.6 - Gives you text to speech, and awesome voice recognition.
2. Coreplayer - An actual working media player for the phone (not crappy like WMP).
3. Replacement calandar/tasks program - Tons out there, but I don't like the MS one.
4. Games - Again, find ones you like.

Yes I'm new, and i was wondering if I could have a bit of help please?
I have a Neon200, and the Nike stuff obviously doesn't work for it. Saying that however, I have gone through the Neon Hard-SPL, from here > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=377260
and then i upgraded to a russian 6.1 (which is also on the board somewhere), and now plan to move to 6.5. I found one here, but apparently will have issues with the keyboard and the camera button.
My question is, is anyone else working on a ROM for wm6.5 that will work on my neon200? Or is there anyway to get a niki rom to work on it?

I got the 6.5 rom to work on my phone (albeit with limited physical key support)
But now I'm having the issue of my sim not working in there (no service, denied, searching..)
Think this is because the radio I have for it now doesn't work.
Can anyone help me with that?
My phone is the Neon200 (duh..), from Telstra NextG in Australia.

Yeah.. I've been poking around a bit as well.. I think the official HTC image is only 6.1.. so if anyone can port the Niki 6.5 over it would be great!

It may be an issue with thephone. I still have it, and also have a 16 key NIKI100 now, as well as the touch diamond.
Think i'll just sell the other ones and stick with the diamond.
Hey guys, my friend bought a TELUS Hero on eBay a while back, and now she's having troubles with it. So she wanted me to help her put another ROM on it to see if it would fix some issues.
Here are a few details:
-Currently she uses it with AT&T
-The bottom portion of the screen seems reluctant to work, but she says that part of the screen works when she puts the phone in landscape mode and tries pressing something like backspace, p, or something similar.
-She has the same issues with other keyboards (she's tried Swype).
So here are my questions:
Is it just a broken screen? If not, what are some of your favorite ROMs available? Also is it even worth touching the radio?
