Bug fix if your dialpad keeps popping up after closing programs - Mogul, XV6800 ROM Development

this should be noted if anyone searches for this problem, the fix is a simple registry edit
to fix this bug, you need to change HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Shell
ShowTitleBarClock= 1 to ShowTitleBarClock=2
the phone popping up bug will happen if the number is less than (2)

having problem when trying to enble Wifi and Bluetooth after upgrading to WM 6

I believe most people face this problem. I hv no solution to it, but I personally believe this is not a hardware prob and it can be solved. Hope to start this thread so everyone can discuss this together and come up with something.
got this from other thread...

put registry editor shortcut in \windows\startup
put wififix.reg in \Program Files
all this does is set the HTCPreloadwifi=1 everytime i need to reset my device. i think the problem is the value was resetted to 0 everytime you reset your device. That's why the wifi doesnt work. not sure if this works for everyone. but for me its working nearly everytime.

is this a good idea?
Pehaps it is useful to give some more specific details. Indeed there are several users that run in to these problems, but many more (including myself) never experienced any misbehaviour whatsoever. There must be a difference somewhere.....
i faced the prob which when u set the HTCPreloadwifi to 1, it revert back to 0 after soft reset. then i found that this is actually bcoz of the file "WiFiInit", which is in the startup. so i removed it from the startup, set the HTCPreloadwifi to 1, then power off and on it instead of soft reset (soft reset might work, just play safe.)

rondol1, will you stay here in this thread. who knows, we might spot the difference between your "working" device and our "half-working" device. appreciate that.
The point is, I never changed anything after flashing the ROM and WIFI works right away. I have noticed that with WEP encryption enabled things don't go that smooth. Without security OR with WPA enabled, I don't experience any problems with WIFI. About Bluetooth, I really don't use it, only to connect my TomTom GPS receiver and that give no problem whatsoever. But that comparison isn't fair, cos the TomTom app takes care of it by itself, without the general WM6 settings.
Perhaps it's good to mention that I use the latest WM6 builds, I red your post in some threads from older ROM's too. Could be that those earlier release had more bugs on this point.
i'm using Fantastic Mobiz v2.0b4....actually wanna to load up other new wm6, but instead of avoiding, i think we shd try to solve the problem..
anyway, i am thinking about whether there is anything wrong with the registry that caused the prob, or any 3rd party software that is interrupting the bluetooth's functioning. is there any way to "compare" the registries?
I don't know, but I hardly use any 3d-party software. And about solving the probs on early WM6 builds: isn't that a Microsoft job? If there is a problem in the OS, we don't gonna solve it by changing some regs!

haha...ya...but i meant a cooked version of wm6. the developer might hv added something which works on his but not on others. any assumption hv to take into consideration. i guess that is how most probs are solved.
seems like no one patronize this thread...ahah , anyway i will still try to update what i've discovered until the next version of rom is up. who knows, people might be desperate and found this thread. i just hope someone will join in the discussion or i will look like a bloody fool who participates in my own thread.
right now, i insert btdwake and btlauncher to my startup folder. it works most of the time (not sure it works bcoz of the files that i put in the startup folder).
i still think that it might be a registry problem. will compare the registry with a working set's one of these days.
I've got also a problem when trying to enble Wifi, what you've done exactly? Does it works?

hi Gaexu. well...it is easy to make things work, but problem lies on the steps that make them work. enabling my wifi is fine, but not perfect.
I suppose your prob is when u go to comm manager, click on the "Wlan", then u see the radar (loading), after that, nothing happened, the icon still show the grey icon with the cross.
steps:
1.)first you gotta remove a file called "WiFiInit" from \windows\startup\ folder.
2.)next, go to the registry using PHM Registry Editor. go to HKLM\Comm\TNETWLN1\Parms, there are 2 reg dwords - "HTCPreloadStatus" and 'HTCPreloadWifi". change their value to "1".
3.)power off the device and on it back.
the reason to remove "WiFiInit" from startup is bcoz it seems to cause "HTCPreloadStatus" value to revert back to "0" after a soft reset. actually i've remove a few more things from startup, but i dun think there is any "linkage".
sorry about this, but don't expect the wifi to be enabled as easy before upgrading (at least not for me). to enable the wifi for the first time (after you soft reset everytime), go to comm manager, click on WLAN. then the radar thingy comes out, rotate a few round and disappear. while it is rotating, observe the "G" on top, it changes to the wifi icon and revert back to the "G". that means wifi is detected. click on WLAN again, and same thing will happen. now, push the on/off button to black out the screen(standby mode) and turn on again. wifi comes alive.
i am too long winded. this is my first time in my life typing more than 6 lines in a forum. do let me know if it doesn't work. good luck.
Thanks for your help
The Wifi works, but just for about 30seconds or 1minute... then it turns off
does anyone know this problem?
I will try it again and again,
thanks

hv u change the value in the registry?
Yes, "HTCPreloadStatus" and 'HTCPreloadWifi" have the decimal value 1.
HTCResumeWifi = 0
I will retry it with another network (not the one from my University) maybe it works...
Gaexu, so how's your bluetooth? working perfectly?
i looked through the registry and found that many of the bluetooth keys are incomplete after comparing with other devices...but i need to extract more info from a workin prophet...
Hi scarymoviesg
Now my Wifi works perfekt (not with the one from the University but with all the others)
Thanks a lot!!!!!

Before reporting bugs, please ensure you're on the new ROM then hard reset. You should perform a hard reset regardless of bugs or not to avoid some issues. Hope this helps some. Also, please update your posts and let others know if you actually did a hard reset after flashing and confirming the 4.0 installation or if the bug was discovered without doing the hard reset.

its supposed to be like that. it assumes that if you are answering it from the phone and not the headset then you don't want the headset.
Small things:
-No automatic softreset after HR configuration. Is this normal, or is this aborted because of No SIM-Card screen (cancel)? Did HR with SIM Card and still no automatic Softreset like usual.
-Device popups (start menu) do have a small delay. Is this normal?
EDIT: No wktask problem

the no softreset is a new feature. i cooked in EVERYTHING.
the delay could be because its loading the new enlarged start menu. if u dont mind that then leave it. if u want the regular menu in settings ull have the turn off or in the config app.

Skype
Under AP4 could not start Skype. Internet connection ok.
anyone with wifi issues
I want to ask you a few questions
- does the wifi totally refuse to turn on?
- if yes, then, when flashing AP4, did you have an interrupted flash? in this case, please describe me exactly when the interruption happened and how.
also, in this case contact me on IRC at http://java.freenode.net/ (channel name should be xda-devs, and pick a nickname as well). but a program will soon be available to make the fix easier and it can be published so I won't need to help personally.
- if it does turn on, then just check your wifi settings, you set up something wrong.
Issue: dealing with menus.
The issue is when I open a menu, by defult I should be able to press certain bottons on the keyboard in order to choose certain options. For example, when I attempt opening a video in TCPMP I would press file on the screen then press the letter "O" from the keyboard in order to access the option "Open".
It doesn't work in AP4.
Hardrested after the update.

Keyboard Buffer Delay

I'm having some kind of delay when using the virtual keyboard or regular keyboard. After I type I have to sit here and wait for the text to show up on the screen. It's driving me crazy. Can someone tell me how to fix this issue? Thanks!

I tried all of those things and it might work ok for a couple of minutes and then starts again. It only seems to do it when I'm sending a text message. So, could it have something to do with GC Arcsoft MMS 5.0.31.25? Is there a later version? Or, maybe I have a currupted version or something? Thanks.

Not sure. I notice this sometimes as well. I know Verizon has some keyboard fix on their site. Not sure what that is for. Someone else needs to chime in on that.
Yeah, this is becoming a really big problem for me and even making it almost impossible to use my phone anymore. I'm doing alot of text messages and after a while it's going too slow I can't even do anything without having to turn off the phone. This also seems to be the reason why I'm having problems sending the MMS messages. When this problem happens they can't recieve the MMS messages, but after I turn off the phone and turn it back on it works.
I noticed something else that's happening. Before I turn off the phone I go into Settings, System and then Task Manager to close any applications that are running. But one of the Task Manager Icons dissappears when this problem happens. There is two Task Managers. As soon as I turn my phone off and on again the other Task Manager icon that has dissappeared appears again. Is that helpful at all?
So, this problem is causing problems with my phone slowing down and causing a huge delay in typing, preventing me from sending MMS messages and making icons dissappear in the Settings. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks...

[Q] Proximity sensor not working

Hi guys. I have a peculiar problem in my new Galaxy S3. Whenever I make a call, the screen remains on even though I have ticked the 'Auto screen off during calls' option in call settings. Also, whenever I input any numbers while in a call, the keypad does not hide. I mean I get the 'Hide' option but it doesn't do anything and the keypad stays on the display. Can anyone tell me if this is a known issue or am I the only one facing it? Is there any workaround this? I am on stock firmware (XXLF2) and haven't even rooted my phone yet. Please help me guys!
I have exactly the same problem. I know the proximity sensor works, because I tried the proximity sensor test app. But my phone does not turn off screen when in call.
i have same problem any one help us ?
I also have this problem.. and to make it worse, I can't seem to call out occasionally. I swipe to call, but nothing happens. I can't even dial out at times.. rebooting usually solves the issue, but the problem quickly comes back.
I'm not rooted, on stock rom. Anyone know what the issue is?
OK, it looks like for me, it was a conflict between Google Voice and the phone. Turning it off/disabling it fixes the problems I've been having. I'll have to see what exactly is causing the conflict, but at least everything works with it off.

Check under 'Voice', not Google voice. It's also an option on the Voice widget.
If that doesn't fix it, try rebooting and doing it again.

Hi guys,
Did you find a solution to this problem yet? I have the same problem, and no matter what I do, I can not make it work. The screen is always on during a call. I am using the stock rom, without root, as it is.

Nevermind. I fixed it by removing FSC ID, apparently it was interfering.
i had the same problem but it was fixed after i made a phone restart.

Phone Call Management affecting "Headset is plugged in"

I have a Sony Z3+/Z4.
The app Phone Call Management is re-detecting a headset plugged in so my music stopped randomly. Sometimes it would work for hours. Then there are times when it stop every 3 seconds. I can't replicate the exact cause.
I used TB to disable it and everything is fine.
1. How can I fix it? What else could be affecting it?
2. What's Phone Call Management? Google doesn't have an answer.

To answer 2 look in settings in all apps category find Phone Call Mangement. If it says something like com.google.[App Name Here] or com.Sony.[App Name Here] then it's best to leave it alone if it's by something else then disable it and see if that fixes your issues if not I don't really have another solution as I haven't owned one of these devices first hand.

It seems to be the ROM's problem. I flashed the original and NagasakiROM and it's still the same. I found a M-ROM from China and it's fine now.
