i updated my atom rom version to 3.3.3 three days ago.It installed completed i used this rom 3-4 hours then i was freeze and i try to reset it. it didnt respond so i decided to hard reset to my atom.I tried to hard reset now it says "device clean boot....." it stuck this screen then i try to reset the device then it stuck o2 screen it didnt pass to align screen. i cant use my atom for three days
Please help me......
remove the battery for a while.. then try hard reset / reflash

For those of you who have downloaded and flashed using SD Card method who ended up in a brick! ITEX recovers his Atom by following procedure:
1. remove SD Card
2. remove battery
3. hold camera button and reset (stylus) button
4. replace battery while still holding the buttons
This will bring you back to bootloader mode. Just flash the above DSUU.

it can barely use WM5 and anyway these chinese splash their advertising for WM6 all over the place in hope ppl will buy their rom, until I see it running in my device or get confirmation from someone reliable (such as Jiggs) I dont believe a word of it and besides the 3.3.3 rom is very fast and ten times better than any actual official release

try to be on the bootloader and reflashed the ROM. try to search same cases in the forum. I think they solved the problem alike.

Connect your ATOM to PC (using USB)
Run DSUU
Try to flash it..

I'm a hp rw6828 user and is very much enthusiast to try out those wm6 roms made by those experts. However, i did a mistake while trying to flash.
I tried flashing with a rom from wantat but i forgotten to delete the EBOOT.nb0 before i clicked "upgrade". Then the program stopped at 6% for a long time and didnt move. I disconnect the cables and tried to turn the device on.
THe device can go into the wm6 and the start button can be use but the screen is "moved" to the right side and other function is not working.
After that, i did a hard reset and the the os seem to work like normal. However, when i tried to go into bootloader mode by pressing both "_" and soft reset. That didnt work. I tried another way by taking out the batt, leave it for a 10mins, press both "_" and soft reset, put in batt, release soft reset then "_" keys. That didn't work either.
But, just lately, i've tried taking out batt, holding the camera key and softreset, place back batt, release soft reset n camera button. This method works and i get what it seems to be an atom bootloader?
i get a black background with "MN1 Bootloader Mar 29 2006 13;52;14 copyright..... 1) debug module through UART 2) jump to DM Enter your selection.
I've searched the forums and found few ways to downgrade back to wm5 but those aren't the same conditions with what im facing. Can someone recommend how can i downgrade back to wm5 with the conditions that im facing? All you help is much appreciated. THank you.
You are lucky , at lease your device now become atom. My was totally cannot on power and just vibrate. Till I have to sent it back to HP SC and change the main board . Can you understand chinese , if yes than I have a solution you may try . Else you have to wait . I just download a program and doing some testing , the program is in chinese language .

I don't think you still can claim under warranty unless you can make your phone total can't on and access to windows mobile. Last time I sent it back they charge me RM 385 to change the main board . I did talk to their technical personal , it seen like they don't know what is bootloader and flash it back to original rom . What they do was just change the main board with preloaded program .

If you think that you can claim you warranty , than you just go a head . If not , may be you can access my thread "HP6828 WM6" , download any one of the rom that I post , follow the instruction accept downgrade bootloader . Enter your phone in bootloader mode . If you can start the process , than it will flash a new hp bootloader into your phone .

You've flash ATOM Bootloader, there are many ways to restore to HP Bootloader ... don't worry !!!

Can share the information how to restore back the HP original bootloader ? And the procedure . Thanks
First you must have HP bootloader file (Eboot.nb0) 1.01 or 1.05 are OK.
- Use DRUU to restore Bootloader : replace ATOM bootloader file with HP bootloader file
- Use miniSD to restore Bootloader : copy Eboot.nb0 to miniSD card, go to bootloader ... wait 1' it will auto hard reset.
After flash successfull remmember remove Eboot.nb0 from miniSD.
- Reflashing Bootloader using JTAG. (Use only when can't use two above menthods)

You should use DRUU of Chartreux, replace Eboot.nb0 and choose OS and Eboot

-You must extract RUU in C:\Windows\Temp (no sub folder) then replace Eboot.nb0 with Hp bootloader 1.01/1.05
-Copy a diskimage_Ver.nb0 (any ROM WM6 for HP 68xx) to C:\Windows\Temp
-Run the DRUU program and choose OS and Eboot and start.

im facing another problem again...
this time i changed the file extension EBOOT0502_MNT_01.01.03.nbf to EBOOT0502_MNT_01.01.03.nb0
(file from HP official WM5 SP34074, inside the installed folder )
and copy to memory card and put in 6828 then started to go bootloader screen
few minutes later my screen goes blank, and i tried with the revive methods
which is
-press the 2 softkey " - " and reset button
-put in the battery ,
-release reset, then release softkey
but didt work out!!!!no repsponse at all..tried many times..possible dead ad???

I dont think i can help u much here as im still new. From the looks of your problem, i guess u forgotten to cut the first 12bits (or something like that) of your bootloader when u use it to flash via mini sd. Maybe you can try the JTAG method mentioned in the atom wiki to restore your bootloader. Good luck.

What is the IPL and SPL?
If the wiki where up, I'd suggest looking at that, but as it is I'll explain it now...
What ROM where you attempting to upgrade to?
To get the device back, I would say "Read the wiki" but it's down!!!
Download this ROM.
In ActiveSync, disable "connect through USB" (File->Connection Settings).
Put the device into bootloader (the three coloured screen) and connect it to the computer using the USB cable.
Run the file you downloaded earlier. This should then install a new ROM.
From there, just wait for it to finish.
Now, it should work!
From there, you could re install the Orange WM5 ROM, or try upgrading to WM6. Make sure you read all the relevant guides first!

hi again brothers, pal zerocool. first u must unlock ur device to be able to accept any rom after that and solve pproblems.
first flash this rom its offecial and it solve dead prophet problems.
then make hard spl by program open file called hardspl.bat.
make hard reset.
flash ur rom u want.
make hard reset again.
then enjoy.
i uploaded the hardspl program but i couldnt upload the rom its so big so u can look in ur mail u will find the solution.
u can extract file by any program for zip.and tell me the news

Hi guys,
I have been using a sh... Nokia sine I broke my prophet G4 in december by upgrading the OS.
I had downgraded first to NVID and then I tried to upgrade and it fails at 95%.
Sine this day, my prophet seem totally dead, no light when plug on both charger or computer, windows do not recognize at all the device because it is turned off. And it really do not seem to charge...
I am living in China now and a guy told me I had to change the PB board...The ost is 100Euros, but I am almost sure I an find another solution...
The weird thing is I cannot charge it at all ( I mean no lights but does it charge a little?).
The guy tested my prophet with another battery and in that ase, it is stuck on the bootloader.
We tried several roms and it always fails at 95% and the error is 200 something, maybe 245 or 243, I do not remember sorry...
Is my phone hardware is dead? or it is just a software problem and I did not see the right guy?
Do I need to buy a new battery? I have read that sometimes the device is not able to recognize it even if it the offiial one and even if it is working on another device...
PLease help me I don't want to loose this phone that I've been using for almost 3 years...
Otherwise I will switch to an iphone but I am not sure to be as happy than I was with my prophet.

Can it enter bootloader at all?
If yes, what are the IPL and SPL?
If not, it will be a hardware problem (may just be connectors to the battery but may be something more).
the only way of recovery is using jtag
but 1st we must discover the location of jtag pins on motherboard
I just do not know because with my actual battery, anything is possible....
when I tried with the guy and a new battery it was blocked on the bootloader, but don't remember the IPL and SPL...sorry
I may be right about the battery onnectors though, but the problems seem to be from the phone connectors or the battery it self???

With his battery, it was stuck on the bootloader and not possible to install a rom, even a NVID WM5...

hp doesn't come out with WM6 or WM6.1 for ipaq 6815.... there's only custom roms which are modified to work with ipaq 6815... you can choose from a variety of them in here.... have fun!...

i've read thru many of the replies in this forum. i'm a newbie and don't knw much abt roms. i tried upgrading or if u call it flashing my ipaq via PC and later SD. the PC flash did not work. i had to wait almost the whole day becos it said it was reading configuration from the phone. i later tried the flash via a transcend 1GB miniSD and till today the phone has gone off. i tried to power it on even with th e battery fully charged. my sis has the same phone i tried swapping batteries but it still didn't come on. i really need to upgrade to windows mobile 6.1 i formerly had WM 5.0, today itried again and it still stays on the boot screen.(white background with the HP logo and the Pbl 1.05 at the botton of the screen .
please i need help ASAP.
Downlgrade your bootloader to 1.01
Hi,
You have to downgrade your bootloader from 1.05 to 1.01. Find in the following the instructions how to do it. I did it and it's working.
Be careful when you do downgrade, because you can end up without phone

1. Check your Boat loader version
(do a soft reset, and check the value printed at the bottom during the HP logo screen)
2. If you noticed that the last line states BL 1.00.05, it means you have boat loader 1.05 installed. You will need to download and flash your phone back to 1.01 via ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp34001-34500/sp34053.exe (VERY DANGEROUS, FLASHING VIA SD IS MUCH SAFER!)
3. After successfully downgraded your phone's boatloader, or your version was already v1.01, you can proceed to flash your phone to the rom.
With the check done, proceed with the required files.
1. Go to download section to download the rom file. -- The rom that you downloaded, e.g (diskimg.nbo)
2. Download the file pcupdate.zip attached in this thread and unzip the contents to the same folder you used in step 1.
3. Download the latest Rom file and extract to the same folder
4. Run BuffereAddHeader.bat. It will take seconds to generate a diskimage_Ver.nb0. (You should have Java Runtime > 1.50 installed, http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp)
5. Move your phone to boatloader mode ( press the two - keys, follow by a poke at the soft reset hole with your stylus )
6. Connect the phone to the PC
7. Execute the Device Utility Update program and wait till it verifies the state. Click on Update Item "All" use cursor keys to change it to "OS ONLY" then hit next **** SELECT "OS ONLY", if you cant change it to "OS ONLY" DONT PROCEED!!! It should detect your device as Model 0 etc.
8. Press Next to begin flashing.
9. Once completed, the phone will reset by itself. Wait for a while for it to startup.
REMEMBER SELECT OS ONLY BY PRESSING DOWN IN THE SELECTION BOX
Here are the notes & files provided by hochengsoon with README for flashing via Windows XP
PC flashing using BL1.0.1 must be done from C:\Windows\Temp, so why not start everthing from this folder ie PCUpdate + ROM + missing file(s).

How to downgrade to WM5 using PC
1. download wm5 rom from http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport...pappid=NextGen
2. run it and after entering the updating screen cancel it.
3. replace the hpRUU.exe in c:\IPAQ(default install) with the attached file hpRUU.exe in archive hpRUU.zip
4. Connect device to PC, then press and hold two "-" button and reset.
5. Run hpRUU.exe and do a normal update.
Note: you may delete eboot*.nbf to prevent bricking the device.

well i m using HP rw 6815, n last night i had flashed a 6.5 rom , later i was unsatisfied with tat rom,

No bootloade aparantly but bootloader hp logo loaded but insted o o.0.o i had a ff.ff.ff bootloader. i dunno what that meant. i inserted a eboot.nb0 on sd reseted in bl (v1.0.5 from this forum).... bootloader updated oki.. but my phone transformed in a hp rw6828, and i can install 6828 rom working and bootin fine in rw6815, the rw6815 rom install via sd but restarts on boot screenn .. this appeard when i tried a downgrade from wm6.5 to wm5 when i try to upgrade via hpruu it looks tat i have a no language hpipaq model.. My model info is "€ R 0 6 0 8 2 2 N _ M N 1 A R C _ R S 0 0 0 5 2" i dont know how to interpret this file sysyinfo.txt with that data. my question is how can i downgrade to wm5 and original bl of hp rw6815? i have all files in nbf form. This roms get ur phone alive after this bug... or the restar bug... they work with both 1.0.1 bl and 1.0.5 bl more stable with 1.0.1... and i thing the developer of the rom did not change the indentifier of the rw6828 rof for 6815... i think it;s hybrid rom between... it works.
Plese help me to downgrade to original state... hp rw6815 bl 1.0.5 rom wm5. or help me solve the hpruu problem... not patched for model and lang beacouse it says the same incopatible thing.. the picture is the same result in patched and original ruu.. .

Hi Dear, i had the same problem but the solution is so funny.
1. Remove Battery from your mobile.
2. Remove SIM card too.
3. Wait around 5 min. & put them back again.
4. Everything should be OK

I tried to flash the 6815 is here and I have put my diskimg.nb0 on 2gb memory card. Press the 2 buttons with the "-" and give it to reset with a stick ... I get into the bootloader and returns to the screen while windows. It might be because the bootloader has the pda is 1.0.5??
The problem is that trying to change the bootloader 1.0.1 is here and not working because my pda is Spanish.
How can I reduce it?

but they all had windows mobile 5.1 on it
so i say to my boss i can flash it to windows mobile 6 with htc touchflo
he liked it so he let me do it

first of all, try a hard reset, then plug once again the phone to PC
dont worry, activesync wont recognize phone at all (is just usb connection)
tell me if hard reset worked, and ill keep in touch
i kpnw there is a tool that would help you to fix the phone.... first try the hard reset!

really slow i mean when i press start it takes a minute to show up
why is this?

i fixed it with abort all processes in task manager and use wizard love rom.
this is the only possible way i think

You know what you did,whats wrong with the phone,you flashed a wm6 rom to a CID locked device.A CID locked phone cannot be upgraded to wm6,you must have a CID unlocked device for upgrading to wm6.
Now,as its a G4 device,it cannot be CID unlocked,but,however,it can be upgraded to wm6 through either SoftSPL or HardSPL method.
Now first recover back to its default status by downloading official stock rom and flash it,after it starts to work normal,then follow the SoftSPL or HardSPL method,only then it'll upgrade.
