I have incorporated some new features in this rom.
You no longer have to align the screen (if for some reason this is not working for you then go to settings and align the screen yourself but it should work )
There is a script called “Backup Contacts” in the download folder run the script on your current device, it will copy pim.vol over to your sd card then when you load my new rom it will automatically copy pim.vol over to your device keeping your ringtones intact(providing there in the same subdirectory) this will also work on the root of microdrive
This rom as remote tracker, which is free, if you look in the download folder you will see the RTRegCreator go to the following website - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=394203 - to learn all about how to make your own rt.dll file once you make it you can also drop rt.dll to the root of you sd or microdrive.
Also I have made quickgps autoupdate without having you do it for the first time(you need to have data connection setup first to see how to do that on first boot see this link - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=403458
All the items that were in sogart’s rom are in this rom but a lot of the items are disabled, which are but not limited to, all inputs(keyboard is default), audio manager, adobe FL, audoBooster, Connection setup, large startmenu, office, subdisplay, transcriber, autorotate, htc home, touchflo…. Ect. I have also add a few popular apps but they are also disabled, dicbattery, qwertymemory, file dialog changer, total commander, tcpmp -with all plugins, pocketrar, taskmanager. The reason I did it like this is so I can take up all of the rom space but also make it as fast as possible. There is also a 0MB PagePool which I have been testing for the last two weeks and I have found no screw-up’s… not one.
I have also add scripts for MiniSD and Microdrive in the programs folder, so there is no reg changing on your part and the scripts will keep your device alive (as long as you plug it in within 20sec of activating the script)
GSensor- you can use gsen to autorotate or if you don’t want to use that app then just install taskmanager and launch it. Then go to menu>tabs options>select tab>services and look for “HTC Sensor Service (Athena)(Sen1: ) click and hold then click start
Known Bug – (for some reason on second boot ONLY, you have to press the startmenu in the upper left corner of the screen in order for the splash screen to go away not sure why but like I said it’s only on second boot )
Addons folder is also in the downloaded folder and this is where you will go to active the app you want(really it just installs a link in the programs folder for most of the cabs )
Deleted folder is extra stuff like ringtones and album pictures that just took up space but if you want any of it just drop in the windows dir.
I have set up a link for people to donate to me so I can get a new device. Please let me know if you have donated to me so I can thank you personally. I must stress that no one here has to donate I am more than happy making roms just because I like doing it. Also I would just like to let everyone know up front that school is starting in about 3 weeks and im not sure how much time I am going to have next semester so I may not be able to make another rom until winter break. So enjoy the new rom and as always if you have any comments, questions or concerns please ask

yup, I still have the HR-loop. lol, it was a struggle to reset it at the right moment before the customization screen came up, but I got it though.
I had downgraded from 3.5 to 1.2.
Irus,
1. Did you add the battery driver to fix the 10% to 1% for batter meters?
2. Have you the gps driver to allow quicker lock?
Anyone compared this ROM with Michy's latest and which one is faster?

A) This Rom is quite fast and stable.
B) I can use GSen on this...not so on Michy's latest rom.
C) the battery meter is not a problem for me as I use
D) Haven't test the GPS yet
E) Michy's rom changed my device id so my tomtom7, touchpal V3.5, and other apps serials wouldn't work.....it was a bit of a pain, but the rom is fast and stable.
I prefer this rom from irus though, the programs folder is not overly huge with programs I only use 77% of. this rom has a lot of storage and program memory.
EDIT: if you're in the USA and have slow network speed (600kbps or less) on full bars, go to phone settings and change the band: GSM/UMTS band=GSM(1900+850)+UMTS(1900+850) and click ok. if you it goes to the tab where it shows your phone number and the option to change your ring tone and doesn't/won't close, just change the ringtone and click ok again......the wait cursor will be there for about a minute or so....wiat until its done. Now you can reset your phone and do a speed test, you should have higher speeds now. Out of 2 tests I got 1375kbps and 1105kbps in doors.

I did not add the battery driver, as far as the gps driver goes i get a pretty quick lock but what is the name of the driver you are talking about.
I've installed this ROM this morning and had been using it for a few hours now. All my software have been installed and re-registered.
Irus was not joking when he said there is NO bug. I certainly have not encountered any so far, and there has also been NO freezes. The response time was very fast again.
All my sensor applications such as BubbleLevel and waterlevel works right away with no tweaks.
Will report bug if I find any.
I'm pleased also to report that Opera 1184 works very well in this ROM. It appears to be much faster than normal in fetching and displaying web pages. I could compilet post to this forum in this ROM whereas using the same Opera version would not allow me to do so in MiChY's version 1.88.
MiChY has a couple of nice applications that he coded by himself, and his ROM is also very fast and stable. I like his version of Large Menu Text configurator, for example, which other the bottom menu text to be adjusted by a slider.
MiChY's ROM is more "PCish". I suspect those who use it notebook style may like it. I prefer my device is to be "diamonish", which is what irus' ROM is closer to.
I'd say if you're looking for sensor functionality, this is the one to get. If you like MiChY's applications (and there are many in his ROM) and does not really want auto-rotate or sensor based applications, then MiChY's ROM is the one to go for.
MiChY's mail application does not let you drag and select mail item, this does. In MiChY's ROM, you have to use the method (which can also work in this ROM), which is to either press CTL and pick the items or select first item press SHIFT then select last item.
MiChY's ROM has a lot of things in it. Depends on the percentage of them which you need, you might like it. For me, I always prefer the Vanilla approach which is what Irus is taking here. I like not having any unwanted software keyboard for example.
Both are fast. Both are stable. If I have to rank, I would need a video camera to record both and analyst the speed. In terms of stability however, I give a slight edge to Irus at this point in time, because I seem to still get quite a few freezes upon booting up in MiChY's ROM (Not anything serious though)
Just different philosophy and approach. I just happen to like Irus' approach better.
Having to choose one of the ROM is a hard decision because both these yound man are so talented, brilliant, polite, and helpful. It's probably going to neck to neck comparision. I might just toggle between the two as I really like both.
Edit:
I forgot to point out one big difference in the mail area. In MiChY's ROM, if I delete a mail item, it will not be downloaded again into my inbox. In Irus' ROM, I'm simply unable to stop the deleted mail from reappearing no matter how many times I delete them. The only way to prevent the mail from appearing on my device is to download the mail using my PC. I'm problbly consuming quite a bit of my data plan quota because of this flaw.
Anyone has an idea why the different behaviour? MiChY's ROM is closer to stock ROM in behavious in this regards, which is what I want.
Temporary solution in irus' ROM: Don't delete mail. Do the deletion on PC.
Edit: Another importatn differece:
If you're using 96dpi or 128 dpi and do video call, then MiChY's ROM has a working phone skin for it.

Is anyone using the black rom on their ATHENA/ADVANTAGE/AMEO WITHOUT issues. I have been reading the threads and am a little leary since most people are posting some kind of issue. I see that the black ROM shows a phone icon and assume that this icon activates the phone display which is primarily what I want.
I would like to find a rom/soft that allows me to have i-phone-like dedicated buttons (possibly with on/off toggle feature like menu settings in WM6 or customizable) on the screen that allow me to activate specific functions ESPECIALLY phone.
Are there any "cooks" that have successfully done this?
Well, I personnaly use Black Dual PK 3 without any issue other than those of the software they include.
More specifically, I have had no problem with the HTC Home plug-in, wktask, etc.
I did disable the Quick Launch today plug-in, that I found cute but way to long-winded to cusomize, as well as extremely basic, and replaced it with the well-known iLauncher.
Having most used applications two screen-touches away at most is ALSO a bottom-line need for me. iLauncher, along with the launcher integrated in the HTC Home plug-in, fullfil that need quite nicely and practically.
I therefore have nothing to envy iPhone users, quite the contrary actually, in my opinion.

I am in USA using tmobile. Do you know if the items you mention will work with tmobile? Do you have links for them?
No reason why they shouldn't work with T-Mobile, they're not directly phone-related.
HTC Home is the big Today plug'in that can be seen at the top of the screen on Black Dual PK 3 related threads, displaying the clock and stuff.
Let me take and show a few screenshots of my current setup... There !

This one shows the small animation iLauncher provides when switching tabs.
And finaly, this one shows how well Audio Manager integrates into HTC Home. So the Athena's a very decent mp3 player interface-wise, IMHO; with this ROM at least.
Top is HTC Home, bottom is iLauncher and PocketBreeze (both of which are not supplied with the ROM, of course).
I appriciate you sharing this with me. I like what I see and will give it a try. there are a couple of things that I don't know. I am really a basic newbie at this.
**Can I back up my existing setup\ROM and go bnack to it if I want?
If so, how do I achieve it?
**Are the additional items that are not in the ROM free to dowload? where can I find them?
**How long does the whole process take to do?
**Are ther how-tos posted somewhere for newbies like me who have only half a clue?
I am ready to learn all I can. I am happy to meet someone who has the knowledge.

No problem really. And I know that wile the forum is so rich in terms of information that it is the single place where you can find pretty much anything you want to know about the Athena, this information is so disseminated that it can be overwhelming.

Of course. Easiest way to do that is:
- to find your current ROM on the internet and download it to your PC for "safekeeping";
- use Sprite Backup that is provided free of charge with the Athena and backup your entire system (you don't absolutly need to back-up what's on the microdrive as it is left untouched by ROM upgrades. Of course, it is always best to backup as often as you can whetever data you deem important) to the microdrive, and then put that on your desktop 'puter along with the original ROM for safekeeping. You can make a self-restoring archive so that you don't even need to reinstall Sprite Backup if you go back to original.
All you'll have to do in order to go back to your current setup will be to flash the original ROM back and then restore the Sprite Backup back-up.

There are thousands of items to download free of charge for PocketPCs, and hundreds of sites to download them from, that's the beauty of Pocket PCs (Windows Mobile-based PDAs).
A place I like as a "starter" is www.pocketpcfreeware.com, one of those I've been using for years. It doesn't ave them all, but it has the essentials, and it's an excellent "point of entry" into the fabulous world of PocketPC (PPC) freeware.
A good freeware launcher is cLaunch. It's not as pretty and customisable as iLauncher (which displays the small iPhone-like buttons on my screenshot), but it is still very good. And there are a number of things that ressemble PocketBreeze (the bottom plug-in that shows my appointments and stuff). The HTC Home plug-in is provided with the Black Dual by PK ROM, and requires little customisation effort.
guardm said:

Well, depends on what you do, how much you customize, etc. But mainly:
- 3 minutes to hard-SPL your Athena (which allows you to flash any ROM you want to your Athena - this is mandatory);
- 5 to 10 minutes to flash your new ROM, I'd say;
- 5 minutes to go through all there is to go through when you hard-reset your device (what you did when you first turned it on: setting the date, calibrating the screen, etc.);
- 15 Minutes to install the Black Dual by PK ROM add-ons.
And then, it all depends on what you install, and how much you tweak.
With practise, in less than an hour, you can have flashed your Athena to a new ROM, and installed 30 applications with a little bit of "tuning".

Not many how-tos, alas. First of all things you should do is to read through the Athena Wiki, which will at once let you know many things about your Athena and get you familiar with the "terminology" (most people here, myself included, have forgotten that you don't learn what a "soft key", for instance, is at school ).
Then the stickies in each forum.
And keep posting here. Dunno, maybe that thread COULD become a "beginner's walkthrough"...
WOW!!! that's a lot to absorb and digest. I will take small bites and work at it. Again, the wealth of information is present. And thanks to people like yourself, I can learn somke things that I didn't know. thanks for the education. I will post with my results and potential questions in the next few days.
I used the cooked ROM on my Athena with TMobile without any issues. I've since changed over to AT&T for the 3G but you shouldn't have any problems with TMobile. If you use their VPN Internet plan you'll just have to change the settings a little but nothing a little searching or a call to TMobile tech support won't resolve in an instant. Any time support tries to tell me they don't support my device, I return with a question of "What, you don't support Windows Mobile 6?"...that shuts them up quick and give me what I need. Good luck and you'll be flashing to a superior ROM.

Well guys, I already encountered my first hurdle. The ROM upgrade attempt was unsuccessful. The ROM update returned a message that my rom image is corrupt. Unless you purchased the phone used, it's only SIM unlocked. This means you can use it with any carrier that supports the technology. If you purchased the device new you'll need to run Olipro's unlocker to CID unlock it. CID unlocking the phone allows you to flash any ROM to the device without a problem. I think you should reflash with a factory ROM to get your phone up and running and take this weekend to do some thorough reading. I don't want to see your next post being that you bricked the device and the only thing you see is a red LED. Get your phone back up and running, take the weekend to educate yourself further so you can regroup and tackle this with a new perspective.
I have it up and running at the factory ROM level from HTC.....

You're welcome ! Glad to count you as a follow Black Dual by PK ROM *power*-user.
There are two bars on each side of the "taskbar" (the bar that has the "Start" button).
The top one shows the battery charge status. It is the program "dcibattery", which a link in the \Windows\Startup launches everytime you start your Athena (soft reset).
The bottom one shows the RAM status, available for the running programs. It is also launched at startup using the link "qwertymemory" in the \Windows\Startup directory.

Irus and Michy,
Both of you are my heroes. Thank you. I'm aware however of some errors and speed problem of the original chinese version, and am waiting for the "stabilisation version " atm. I'm currently using mutou version 1 which is fast and no serious bug. Good that you have gained the expertise to do the translation, as we can then do it for all future non-english ROM.
Irus, don't worry about so many ROMS. You've given us more choices, that's all. We thank you for these. Keep up the good work!
Irus and Michy,
Can you put back the standard keyboard and remove the chinese SIPs? If we can fix the setting to turn off auto-rotate and have touchflo setting it will be sweet. Also, for some reasons, my Sprite backup does not work. All these were among the problems in the chinese version.
Okay, I tried out the spl1.2 Translated (into English) version of Mutou's ROM.
First, I checkd through the settings and noted the following:
1. In the power setting, there are three tabs with names called "10 sec", "30 sec" and "1min". I think the correct name for them should be "External Battery", "Internal Battery", and "Backlight brightness" or similar wording.
2. TouchFLO setting is all messed up.
3. Soft key setting are still in Chinese. I think we should either remove this, or have it in English.
4. Auto-rotate setting still does not respond.
5. A4 keyboard should be completely removed and replaced by the standard keyboard
6. We should hide extended-ROM2
7. I can't find camera application, However, I am able to start the camera if I use the picture viewer program. The problem, however, is that all the usual camera settings such as choosing the mode, resolution, etc, are not responding to user actions.
8. When I tried to set up my data service provider's setting, I noticed that it only has ability to set up dialed up modem, so I'm unable to test any 3G data connection.
9. SMS services setting gives a blank screen.
10. Although the start menu has a link to phone, phone application does not exist. I can't start a dialer. However, I am able to go to the contact application and make a call, although I'm then unable to end the call since there is no dialer.
11. The Notes application does not start.
12. Camera application started via the picture viewer does not offer the opportunity to use microdrive as storage, although microdrive is functioning properly.
13. Window Media Player does not produce any sound.
14. After using the device for a while, the device stop producing sound although Sound Setting has checked the bottom two entries.
At this point, I installed my wktask and FtouchSL.
Then, all applications stop working, wherease the file explorer was working before this. Contact applicaion no longer could start. Calender could not start, and shows an error saying "No program memory availalble. Tap Start>Settings>system tab>memory , stop programs that did not automatically stop, and try again". Actually no program is running yet. I then uninstalled both wktask and Ftouchsl. The ROM does not seem to allow it to be successfully removed.
At this point, I could not proceed any further.
Good try though, at least most of the text are in English now. Looking forward to the second attempt.

Hullo Michy,
If you managed to solve these issues, would you avail it for both spl's..1.2 & 3.5
Cheers
for now, i have fixed smsservice and backlight issue + standard virtual keyboard input.
You can solve this on your ppc with overwriting file in attached zip in /windows folder and import the keyboard.reg registry file.
Then reboot...
I cant fix more for now...

There is'nt a need to pursue this further, because the purpose of the translation is to get something like what is shown in your link. Thank for the effort.
Sergiopi, I recommend that the translated ROM link in your ROM list thread be removed because they are still very half baked.
Scott’s VZW ROM - Working VZ Navigator (eRice kitchen v1.03.7) - Rev 1 out!
UPDATE 19 DEC 2008 @ 18:00 Central Time. New ROM is out. Consider this thread discontinued. Files will be on the website for historical purposes. I would recomend upgrading to my latest ROM here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=461524
UPDATED 12 Dec 2008 @ 19:00 Central Time
** You will need to dial *22899 after you flash to reprogram. Do this before anything else.
** Other model phones from other carriers will loose custom EPST settings per NexVision's testing.
REVISION 1 Changes at the end of this modified original post
This ROM IS FOR VZW USERS ONLY!
Greetings fellow VZW users. My first creation for us is Custom a ROM based off of eRice’s kitchen in this thread: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=46965.
ROM Info:
**The ROM I created is nearly identical to the “STOCK” ROM with a couple minor additions and an upgrade to the core CE OS files to version 5.2.20931. I pulled all the apps and drivers from the leaked VZW ROM in this into the eRice kitchen from this post: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=42741
**I stripped out the Sprint drivers and applications from the eRice kitchen and added the VZW drivers and Apps from the VZW leaked ROM. It was fairly seamless to do. I tested VZ Nav and it worked great!
** This ROM is considerably more smooth than the stock ROM and more responsive in most applications including Touch Flow. No, it doesn’t fix our missing memory problem but I dont think you will notice it as much now. What makes it great is it is based on the 20931 CE OS but retains the 100% stock look via proper drivers and applications.
**VZ Navigator runs well on this ROM!
As far as I know this is the first “Custom” ROM with any sort of GPS for the XV6850.

*Revision One Changes*
**********************
Added N2A Weather Patch to Autoinstall. INcludes most US cities and patched weather server.
Added Diamond TF3D Config to Autoinstall (Runs with no errors)
Added Nue Fonts with a few extra fonts than what the OEM normally has. They look great on this screen!
Added Advanced Config 3.3
Added Turn off SMS Sent Notification - cabbed by "mixtapeking1900"
Added DotNET CF 2.0 along side DotNet 3.5. DotNet 2.0 installs first then ver 3.5 via Autoinstall (CONFIG.TXT in extended package OEM for the kitchen users.) I bieleve either could be removed but not truly sure. DotNet 3.5 was needed for Advanced Config.*Note - Selecting dotNet 3.5 in the KITCHEN will cause problems! Dont do it unless you proplery modify config.txt to not load them in the AutoRUN.
Removed IE 6.1 (Breaks My Button Setup!)
Removed JetPrint Bluetooth printing (whatever it is called, not sure)
Fixed My Button Settings not launching from the Settings Tab in Manila
Fixed Voice Command> I added it back in. Go to "Settings -> Voice Command" to turn it on before it will RUN!
Kept HTC YouTube
Kept HTC Network Plug in
Kept Internet Sharing
*All Three of these are from the eRice Kitchen. Big thanks to eRice for all 3!
No other installed programs than those listed and the VZW OEM apps.
The ROM is now pretty close to Stock which was the goal. This should be the last revision unless someone finds a major bug.
AS always, please report bugs and any thing you like as well.
Files located at www.scottcrosler.com
Mad Thanks go out to eRice, Commenex and ImCoKeMan for making this possible! Without them none of this would exist!
UPDATED 12 Dec 2008 @ 19:00 Central Time
Basic Installtion Instructions
Download ROM and extract to desktopp (Now includes RUU). Start the ROM Upgrade Utility and follow instructions Flashes just like ANY other phone or ROM. Flashing will destroy ALL data on phone. Always sync with ActiveSync before starting the upgrade utility OR place your phone in bootloader mode (Power, VolDown, and reset)
A call to *228 or *22899 (automated activation line) WILL BE REQUIRED for normal usage! This is true of ALL ROM's and even a simple hard reset of the Verizon stock ROM.
Before you flash you MUST be unlocked. I do not support the unlock process or the software but I can tell if you that if you follow the instructions at the link it works perfect.
Link to unlocker is here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=42503
Link to ROM and RUU is here: http://www.scottcrosler.com/
Bugs so far:
Wiped Clean on new revision
**Here is where you will see gains with this ROM over stock...
1. Navigating through menu's, especially the settings menu.
2. Smoothness of TF3D (debateable depending on the tabs.) First time will be slow for EVERY device if you leave ALL the tabs enabled. Each tab is a like a sep app that has to load when you select it. After the tabs are loaded you will see even more gains over the stock ROM.
3. File explorer. Go to the Windows folder. No further explanation needed there, trust me. The stock file explorer took nearly 15 seconds to load Windows. This does it almost instantly.
Updated Kitchen Files!
This is for the eRICE KITCHEN. This is not my own Kitchen but an add on of VZW OEM files to the eRice kitchen.
Its the OEM pack that I used to create this ROM. Its what I stripped out of the VZW leaked ROM. I added just a couple OEMs that are not in the cooked ROM. I dont have the original OEM's broken out! IF anyone wants to break it down further like eRice did with his original kitchen let me know and I will host it on my site.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR KITCHEN SET UP:
Download and extract (to desktop) eRice 1.03.07 kitchen from here:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=42796
Delete the entire OEM folder from inside the kitchen!
Download and extract the VZW OEM folder from www.scottcrosler.com and place it in the eRice kitchen as to replace the one you just delted. I made one minor change to the pure VZW OEM folders.I dropped the phonecanvas XML provisioning file into OEM apps. i think it supposed to be in SYS but I dont know.... It works fine the way it is. If you have never heard of the file then ignore this part of the post.
Start RaphealKitchen.CMD and follow instructions.
***Do not select DotNET 3.5 in the kitchen!!!. It is enabled by default, delelect it. Will cause issues.
I will try to support the kitchen as much as possible. Please do not bother eRice with this hybrid kitchen as I am sure he will not support my hybrid creation.
Thank eRice for this kitchen.
Thank the original poster of this thread for the leaked ROM I worked with:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=42741. Not sure who posted it.
Thank me for putting it together!
I AM NOT TAKING CREDIT FOR ANY OF THE FILES. I do however take credit for converting to VZW OEM.
Should there be a link to your ROM here?
Are there instructions on how to flash?
Like putting phone into bootloader mode or anything else necessary?
Does the unlock process wipe the phone or does only the ROM update wipe?
Anyone tried this yet? Any reviews?
It's a lot of work to reinstall everything and to re-apply my special settings, even though I've been documenting what I've done.
Also, I was thinking of trying that Telus radio. Can I still try that on this? Does a radio update/change wipe the device clean or that's non-destructive?

I updated the second post with the steps you need. Sorry was trying not to get flamed on my thread. Someone over at PPCGeeks flamed me for pretty much no reason other than the fact that they could. It only stopped me from releasing my ROM over there. Oh well. There loss. Too bad because there are some really good people over there. The eRice kitchen was perfect in every aspect of a ktichen. I was never so impressed. Impressed enouhg to download the leaked ROM and portover the VZW software ;c) Its a nice change over the stock CE OS. If you flash let me knwo what you think.
Hi Scott,
I've been lurking on both forums since I got my Titan last December. I have learned much from everyone here and over at PPCG: these are the best resources by far for those of us into our phones and the tech behind it.
I agree that you were treated less than "professionally" over at PPCG, and hope that you will continue to work on the VZW TP/XV6850. Thanks for this great use of Eric's kitchen tools and stock ROM, along with your knowledge on how to get them all working for us! My take from the eRice thread is that he has no issue whatsoever with you using his stuff, and in fact he welcomes it for us VZW stepchildren... hehe.
This ROM does indeed kick arse, and hopefully GC and others will figure out the PRI lockdown and we will all have an amazing little machine to play with: it is w/o a doubt a much slicker device than the Titan, and I dug that little unit for the better part of a year
Cheers Pal

You know what Dude, that is all I needed for motivation! You verizon users have some serisou **** instore for you ;c) Thanks for the positive feedback! Im motivated again!
They will figure out the PRI crap. It will take time. I wish skywing would port over his adapter program. I could incormporate that and we would have 100% GPS just like everyone else. He stated in his thread he was not interested in doing so. Thats a huge loss for us that we never even had ;c(
For the record!
For the record:
I have always asked permission before I redistribute any item found here. I asked DCD for his kitchen when I posted my R4R ROM for the Titan's.
I asked eRice specifically if I could port his stuff over for VZW users. His response was:
"if you can get the sprint carrier files split from the rom/kitchen and include the vzw ones, more power to you. that's what this forum is about. sharing ideas and results and improving on them for the benefit of everyone."
Its posted here. Just for the record ;c)

A few people have tried on PPCGeeks with great success as posted above.
Keep it coming. Two things to note. And YES I Just installed this ROM.
First, I had to *228 (not surprised but it is required to get data connections to work. This has been true for every ROM i've played with as well as custom ROM's i've built in the kitchen.)
Second, Comm Manager is missing from the slider menu with TF3D enabled. (Although still accessible via the keyboard shortcut.)
I will play some more and let you know what else I find. Thanks.

The comm manager TAB or the comm manager link in the settings Tab? Its just fine for me. There is no Comm manager TAB in VZW version of TF3D.
I see you use the PPC Kitchen. That does have the Comm Manager Tab and you are used to that. This version is stragiht ripped from the ROM. No changes AT ALL. The stock phone doesnt have COmm manager Tab.
How about responsiveness?
Launching VZ Nav opened Opera and downloaded the CAB. CAB launched got to privacy screen but complained about not being able to save privacy settings. Only option is to lick OK. You are then brough tto the "default" VZ NAV error screen telling you there was a problem with your GPS device. I do have the CAB for VZ NAV now however.
Re-Launching VZ NAV produces the same result. Unable to save privacy and crashes out.
My mistake. You're right. I've gone through so many ROM's that it's a blur. The "Communications" link is still under the "Settings" tab in TF3D as it should be.
So far responsiveness is good. I have not configured the settings for my "regular" business use however.
Perhaps the reason VZ NAV will not install is because it's the official signed version?

No, It always crashes twice at the initial set up, even on the Stock ROM. Its a crappy program I know! Try it a third time and you are good from then on. If not let me know and I will upload the Cab that I have. Nothing special about it though.
EDIT: I relfashed my phone, installed and it worked for me. It still does the three times to load problem. Two GPS errors for me. Then the third time it starts. THis is the EXACT behavior of the stock ROM.
bkurek,
How do you "go through so many roms"? Isn't it an hour or more to reinstall all of your apps and personal settings or is there some easier way that I'm missing?
I can't restore with SPB Backup, right?
Would you say this rom is noticeably faster?

You MAY be able to restore with SPB back up. MAY being the keyword. You can always try it. It wont hurt anything. Worse case scenraio; Hard reset.
I will let bkurek answer the respoinsiveness question. Anything from me woudl be purely biased ;c)

That's true. Since it's basically the stock ROM, I might have a shot. I guess the one thing that might be a problem would be your IE6 update.

I go through them because I enjoy doing so and I'm looking for what *I* want. Yes it can be that long but I don't go through all the motions until I've found the right combination/foundation to build on. I did not for instance configure ALL of my email accounts or setup active synch in vista, etc etc
Yes it does feel very snappy but just like anything else you'll find it to be faster today and go back to *****ing about how slow it is tomorrow. It's a matter of perception in the end. You'll always want more. I'm actually more interested in a stable build than a faster one because I already know it'll never be as fast as I want it to be. I have experienced a myriad of stability issues that if I don't find a remedy for I will return this phone. They manifest mostly in the messaging components at this time. I have not had to soft reset a phone this much since 1990-something. Speaking of which, as a completely uninteresting side note, I have not posted to a forum since early 1990-something but the point is that I do like this device and would like to see it improved upon is why I am taking the time to post now. It’s a cool phone. Give it some time. Someone, somewhere will make it faster and more stable. I think.

Interesting. My stock did not have this problem but it came pre-loaded with VZ NAV. Third time is the charm.
Program files and things I don't want to lose always go to main for me.

Everything works smoothly with the OS. However 3G DID NOT WORK before or after the upgrade on the device we tested (a radio issue??)
....if anyone has it working, plz let me know which radio you have.
Applications such as TouchFlo, etc., are installed by using the Device Updater. I like this feature the most, as it leaves the ROM itself 'lite'.
Applications outside of the Device Updater repository I recommend:
HardSPL_v7
IMGChangeFont
SIPConfig Tool
CommManager3G
Touch Cube
Directly download the blue ones, others will be attached below.
THIS IS A BETA ROM - PLEASE POST ANY ISSUES..... I WON'T BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR DAMAGES OF ANY KIND.... AND PLEASE USE HardSPL v7 TO AVOID BRICKING
and TO FIX BAD BLOCKS !!!
HERE'S MY ROM (updated link)
Thanks to everyone who made this possible and especially to 'Josh' for his kitchen.
Sweet, another chef in the kitchen...
Will try out soon..
Just one thing though, you will probably find this post moved to the WM06 thread as that is where all new roms are found.
Cheers...
WOW Congrats on the new rom sir!!
I get following on download link
This file is neither allocated to a Premium Account, or a Collector's Account, and can therefore only be downloaded 10 times.
This limit is reached.
To download this file, the uploader either needs to transfer this file into his/her Collector's Account, or upload the file again. The file can later be moved to a Collector's Account. The uploader just needs to click the delete link of the file to get further information.
i've a problem........it's all ok but camera doesn't work!!
camera
The camera worked on our test device, the 8525. Is that what you installed it on??
Please give more details. Can you bring up the application? Have you tried taking a photo by pressing the center joystick?
The regular customer I have also had trouble operating the camera until I showed him he could snap pictures by pressing the joystick.
I can only tell you what worked for us.
PLEASE NOTE, YOU NEED A NEW PHONE SKIN FOR VIDEO CALLS. You could try this one. Let me know if it works.

This is great! Today i installed wm 6.5 on my SPV M3100 and everything works OK. Right now I am using device update to install more applications. This is cool stuff..
Thanx for your coocking...
Great Rom.
Works great but having turned off and then had dinner went to turn phone on and the htc screen hangs.
Trying a hard reset.
Fingers crossed as this really looks great.

If your screen hangs you may have bad blocks on the drive. Try upgrading to HardSPL v7 to fix them, if you haven't done so already...
I bought my TyTn more than 1y ago second hand and i've been running Schaps Theme 2.54 ever since without even knowing it and I am trying your ROM as the first upgrade ever done by my hands. so far so good, everything went smoothly and I must say it's an excellent piece of work and that i'm absolutely loving the WinMo Black theme.
However, i have some comments/questions:
1 - after boot, upon getting to the PIN-dialing screen i just get the top bar and no keyboard nor buttons image, i have to type my SIM PIN by guessing the numbers' spots on the screen. is this normal, and if not how can i circumvent it?
2 - configuring the Today screen Titanium item - is there any possibility to remove some items and/or reduce the font size, or will it be necessary to take it to the kitchen?
Once again, thank you very much for this piece of work
update: after further insight, i found there's no Office or PDF reading support, correct? i'm asuming i'll have to downgrade to a 6.0 ou 6.1 ROM, correct? also, how do i get rid of the damn startup splash screen? currently it runs the carrier's logo, but i just want it to never show again
Hey...
Use IMGChangeFont for changing the font and size.
There are tutorials somewhere in one of the forums for writing config files for Titanium. I haven't messed with it much... you are pretty much on your own if you want to remove items, but it CAN be done.
You can download Office here if you can't find it under Device Update.
Regarding the SIM PIN keyboard, I don't know what to say, except to try using the sliding keypad or do a hard reset, then try again.
The splashscreens are called welcomehead.96.png and can be swapped out by renaming them .. is Windows Mobile 6.5 the screen you are referring to?
well now that i've placed a picture on the background it does look nicer. i actually just wanted to remove some of the features which i do not use, but it's ok anyways.
got the office download, will install asap..thanks for the link.
regarding the splash screen... before the Windows Mobile 6.5 shows up i get a Vodafone image. it was there even before i flashed my TyTn with this ROM and i'd very much like to remove it permanentely.
thanks for all the help.
ok...look at this post if you want to try changing your vodafone screen
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_BootloaderMFG
interesting tho, I upgraded my friends vodaphone Asus p525 and afterwards the screen was gone. i didn't do anything but run the ruu. needless to say, he was happy that he didn't have to look at it anymore.
good luck
ok, i'll try and see if the Vodafone thing becomes history but for not now i got these here doubts:
- is it possible, and if so how can i configure the VJCandeaLite to turn on and off with a press of button and not be dependant of keeping the assigned button pushed?
- there's some stuff I personally don't need, nameley Live Search, MSN Money and Windows Live. since i have no use for these i would like them removed cause i'm picky with this stuff. does it imply just a registry tweak or taking the cabinets to the kitchen?
and one n00b question:
- how do i install the Office suite? and also the two programs you deemed necessary - CommManager3G and Touch Cube - what use do they have actually?
Being that the previous thread was getting filled up, I have opted to start a new thread. This thread is to be for Force Development ROM's. They are primarily devoted to the Titan just as before, but we are restructuring a bit.
From this point on, please do not refer to these ROM's as "Tplane37's 21xxx 6.5 ROM" as I am not the only person working on these behind the scenes. I would prefer that they are referred to as "Force Developments" ROM's, thus allowing universal credit to everyone involved in the process.
Additionally, if you would like to join in on the efforts, or have questions pertaining to these ROM's, we are on the IRC at:
Server: chat.Freenode.net
Channel: #forcedevelopments
A web site is also in the works. Thanks for testing and we look forward to working with you!

Okay, I should have tested these builds longer before releasing them. Now that I am getting into the more advanced side of things, you may see more time between releases. I am going to be working on things still, so check in once in a while and see what I have up and going. If you like the M2D for 6.5, don't worry, there are CABs available. Just remember, they are being tested as well and are the exact same files I was using in the releases I just pulled. I need to relax a bit and quit getting so excited about new features and need to get back to focusing on quality. I will be around and still working in the background, but as I said, more time will pass between releases. Thanks for testing!

Advanced users are still welcome to stop in the IRC and see what we are currently working on in prep for release. But the stuff I am testing now is not for novice users. See Mattsm's post below for the Java link into our support/testing channel on the IRC for more information.

So far looks good. I installed the optional items and really like it. Are you trying to duplicate without SPB?
23004 with the SPB is working great. Looks good, runs fast, memory holding steady.
Thanks

I would like to, but that is not likely. This is where I found the setup in the manual install: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=407487
I am toying with SPB 3 now, but am having issues cooking it in. This is by far one of the more difficult tasks I have encountered because the registry entries are rotating around all over the place and being a pain (as far as customizing). The "Ultimate WM7" is not working with SPB 3, but I am hoping to figure everything out so I can manually change the files. I have tried contacting the creator numerous times in the past few months, but have received no response. So this is new territory for me.
All in all, with the help of others on the Force Developments Team, we are trying to get something unique in our ROMs since it is no longer much of a challenge to get a working ROMs out of things. Hope everyone enjoys testing!
I have been using the spb 3 on your rom and have just found this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=507697&page=276#2759
(MS301 Widgets Pro Plus Ultimate 061809)
Just installed it and it give allot of options to custimize.
Just Flashed
I just flashed the new rom and I'm pretty impressed overall. It's a huge departure from what I'm use to, but I'll give it a few days to see if it grows on me.
I just rebooted as I was typing this to disable the extended rom and go into high mem mode and now it looks totally different. I think this is what I should have been seeing. Very nice! Very clean but easy to get to everything. I think I may just enjoy this.
--later--
One question though, does this rom not include office? There's an office folder under the programs icon in the laucher, but no office apps in it. I also noticed there are 26 icons in the programs section of the launcher, but there's actually 36 folders/shortcuts in ..\Windows\Start Menu\Programs. So all the programs do not seem to be listed.
The various Icons bit is something I am working on. For some reason, SPB 2.1.4 isn't recognizing the entire list but SPB 3 does. Office was not installed apparently, I thought I had selected that (since I usually do!). I have a CAB for it somewhere and will upload it once I find it. But is someone else has a CAB for WM 6.5 Office, feel free to post it for everyone to have.
Personally, I like SPB 3 stock out of the box, and it is what I am using on my personal ROM. I am trying to at least get it to cook in properly with the Start menu override as default (it can be changed easily by anyone if they don't want the start menu overridden).

WOW!,
This is the best ROM, ever made.
After upgrading CF to 3.7, I can now run Igo 8!
How can I find out which version of CF you used.
I tried to install 3.5, but installer showed an error regarding programs that were running.
I did not find any reference to uninstall 3.5, so I went with 3.7.
TCPMP plays smoother too. Web pages load faster.
MS301, scrolls with less effort.
Checking out audio next. I think the adapter issue (I don't have this problem) has something to do with a second "Mike" ground. from what I found on a "Pin Out" page somewhere.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=284512
Check it out.
And thank you everyone here for helping us make better use of our dependable units.
OOPS:
I just realized that is for the Artemis... It may be "Universal".
Memory just too low...
Well that rom is quite pretty but I had to side-step to another 23004 rom I found on PPCGeeks. My memory rarely shot above 10-12MB while using this rom. I had trouble running both Iris browser and Skyfire with nothing else running.
I look forward to trying a more optimized version. Is this rom UC compatible? I really need to learn to use UC or Sashimi if I'm going to be flashing this often. I'm sick of changing the same 10-12 settings and setting up all my email accounts. It blows to do this manually as often as I've been flashing lately. Cab installs are not a big deal to me, they are all on my SD so i just install them as I need them.

from what i know
this is the audio adapter issue
hardware...not electrical nor software
beware...some audio adapters are stereo and some additionally port the mic.
the oem adapter ports the mic...so a stereo plug seems to cause issues...
well duh
