Orange SPV M1000 - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 ROM Development

Hi everyone,
I need some pointers. My dad gave me his used Orange SPV M1000, that he used to use for work. He now has a new one and this one is obsolete.
The thing is, it seems to have his companie's old software engraved and I can't seem to wipe it from memory. I have tried a software reset and a hard reset. I have also let the battery completely die out. Nothing works. The camera is also blocked and doesn't work. How can I get around this? Can anyone help me out?
Do I have to unprotect the extended rom? Will that be enough? And if so, how is the easiest way to do so?
I'd very much appreciate your help, either here in the forum or via email ([email protected]).
Many thanks,
Cris

i'd say yes

Thanks for the link.
I'm going to check out the website and the various threads and see if I can pick up from there.
Wish me luck.
Thanks once again,
Cris

Is this any easy fix or is it too far gone to fix?

Hi there, I've recently bought an XDA / Wallaby originally locked to O2 and thanks to your software on the site I've now got it running on my Orange payg with full web access in under 2 hours of ownership - Wonderful! Big improvement over my Psion Revo .
Since getting this, my wife's now decided she loves the xda also so I'm looking for a second one for her.
My question is this; I've now found one listed on ebay quite local to me (so I can see it's as described before paying) but it has the following apparent problem, quoted verbatim:-
'I recently tried to upgrade the OS on it which resulted in me deleting the ROM Image so the OS/Rom needs to be re-installed. I would take the time to do this myself but do not have the time, and I have just got myself a P900 so am looking to use that. The software can be easily re-installed and is freely available. I have moved to the P900 purely for its bluetooth and camera functions and no other reason, i was totally happy with the XDA, it just needs a good home with someone that will take the time to load the software back onto it.'
Can I obtain any software to rectify this or am I biting off too great a problem?
As the item closes tonight (thursday) I'd appreciate any comments asap.
Thanks all, Charles
If Boootloader is working, reflashing the device should be no problem. You just require a SD-Card >= 64 MB and a (external) Card Writer.
How to do thi is described here http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Wallaby_HT_FlashSD
You can ask him, if he can try enter Bootloader by pressing Power button and doing a soft reset. It will be interesting, what there is displayed....
Stefan
thanks for that. Just read the link article. So I need to factor in the cost of a SD read/writer as I haven't got one. On that basis I think it could work out cheaper to just buy another O2 locked wallaby xda and unlock it for Orange.
But I'll watch to see what the item closes at.
BTW, do you have any idea of the price of the sd read/writer? I'll check with ebay myself as well.
Rgds
Charles
Should be not much. About 5 Euro, max 10 Euro + shipping.....

GPRS problems!?!?

Hey Guys,
Sorry to bother you guys again, but I seem to be having a problem with the GPRS this time. Dont know why, but I cant get the settings for my dopod automaticly, and when i set it up manually with the settings of the provider I still cant get it to work. Any ideas?
Cheers
well, i have no idea what wireless provider you have. so even if i wanted to help. i'd have to ask a lot of questions.
plus, if you actually searched, you'd probably find what you're looking for.
being lazy != positive results.
seriously ive done all i can. Ive called the ISP up with them telling me to go to one of there branches for help. I went to one of there branches they didnt have a clue to what I should do. And plus ive changed all the settings round ive restarted my phone ive done everything in my power but still cant get it to work. If I could have avoided posting here I would have trust me, I dont like bothering people. And Im just trying to get an answer from people that know the phone better than me. If asking for help means Im being lazy then what do you think I should do?
get the settings from your service provider and follow the instructions here
look at the wm5 settings
http://www.htcwiki.com/page/The+Dash+FAQ?t=anon
Still nothing.
It had it setup right from the begining. thanks for the help though dude!

god i hate having to hold people by the hand....
i posted this not long ago, and by searching, maybe, just maybe you would've found it.
there's a link in there for yet ANOTHER forum that will tell you the correct settings for YOUR provider (since i still don't know what your "ISP" is... (ISP? you have an INTERNET service provider for your cell?? ))...
after which, if you still can't get it, i fear that you, my friend, are beyond hope.
thanks Mystic. You have been a real help. Sorry I was like that before but I was a little pissed off. Thanks alot dude got it to work though at last.
Cheers

Wow need some help with my 3125

Hi,
First post and I have to say I am over wellmend with all the information on this site. I have never found one that covered my 3125 so much. The reason for finding this site is becuase my 3125 at least once a week just locks up and I have to pull the battery to get it to turn off and reboot. I was thinking of just starting fresh again with the corrent ROM but in looking I found this site and I found there is a WM6 rom that I could play with and other things.
I have been searching and this is why I think I am over wellmend right now.
This is what I am thinking of downloading and trying.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=374397
Just before I do this I want to make sure I have it correct that this will work with my 3125 and that I will work with ATT since they are my provider and I go the phone from them? Also do I pull out my SIM and Memory card when I install this?
I guess this might sound dumb because I do not think I would but would I have any problem with my phone getting locked with this update?
Thanks for any help on this. I keep up PC software but I do not with WM that much.

NoGSM Error in Jasjam

Hi,
I have a Jasjam which is getting NoGSM errors. I believe this may be causing my hanging issues that I've been having a lot of.
I've had a look at the Wiki page on this, and a couple of things aren't very clear.
I'm currently running Bootloader SPL-1.10, and it says to go back to 1.04. Can I change to SPL-2.10Oli to do this as well (I guess this is easier).
Also, after this step, it says to Flash the patched radio to simunlock my jasjam, however it is already simunlocked.
I just wanted to clarify these things before giving this a go, so if anybody can enlighten me it would be greatly appreciated, as it is really starting to get to me.
Thanks for your help.

NoGSM Error in Jasjam - clarification of wiki
Just wanted to change the title...
Just wanted to bump this to see if anybody can help me out. I'm still having NoGSM problems, have tried the fix on the Wiki, but things aren't completely clear, as so far it hasn't made any difference.
Sorry mate, probably because no-one HAS a surefire method to fix the "No GSM" problem. Lots of people claim that something fixed it but they seem to keep popping up in the threads still trying to fix their problem. You might have to just try everything until you either give up or something noticeably improves or someone pulls the answer out of thin air.. We all live under the threat of "No GSM" and dread the day if/when it will finally arrive... Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but you can shoot me til your hearts content.
Cheers...
Thanks for that, so pretty much I should keep on trying to flash different radios until I find one that sticks around for a while?
Would try to flash a stock rom 1st. What Telco are you with? Use their "Official"rom and see if that works. THEN go nus trying radio only roms. Chances are though that if you can't flash 1 radio rom your radio has been corrupted and is unrecoverable.
Good Luck

Hi, I've got a Jasjam (so therefore it's a Telstra phone). I've gone from the official rom to unofficial roms and back again. I've installed individual radio roms. Most things go onto the phone fine, and it will work perfectly for maybe half a day, and then it crashes, and when I restart I get NoGSM. I might reset it 5 times, and then the radio will come back.
I bought it on ebay, but I've managed to get hold of the details to get a duplicate invoice, so I've put the phone back onto Telstra ROM and a standard SPL, and I'm going to get them to have a look at it, as it looks as though it's a hardware problem, unless any of you smart bods here have other ideas...
Can anybody shed any extra light before I take it into the shop? Just don't want to admit defeat if I can
If you can, the best way to fix is through warranty. If they try to fix 3 times and fail they have to give you a new handset. I believe Telstra no longer have the jasjams so you might be upgraded to the Tytn II.
Cheers....

Noob with a rare phone... Q about debranding?

Greetings to all from a noob... I bring you questions about my first smartphone - a Docomo NTT branded Fujitsu F12C (it can dive underwater!) running Android 2.3.4...
Now... it is full of Japanese language apps and generally the menus themselves are... I'll stop short of calling it "broken english" (because it's not that bad, but still slightly strange). Also, the keyboard input is cluttered with Japanese input keys and options.
I tried uninstalling a lot of the apps but half of them remain regardless.
So my question is - how do I clean up this phone? Is it called debranding? I've read about debranding and flashing ROMs a bit... but I concluded that I need to find this 'ROM' for my particular phone... something I've been unable to do... Is there anyway to simply install a generic Android OS onto it and start from there? I don't really care about voiding warranty (the phone is made in Japan which is a warranty in itself) but I do not want to risk destroying the phone at the same time (it cost too much).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I never heard of this phone until now. I googled it and was WOW by how awesome it looks and all the features. ANYWAYS, the only way I think you could possibly get rid of all the Japanese menus and stuff like that is to possibly try to do a factory reset to where it prompts you for the setup and select English as your language and re-enter all your google account information and such......GOOD LUCK bro as I also found that there is little information on rooting this sucker let alone having custom roms for it.

It is a really nice phone indeed. But I tried the factory reset... It only deletes any data I input beforehand...
I guess I just have to wait for it to become more popular?
hello, my friend, do you know how to do a hard reste on this phone, a forgot the patern lock and a c'ant use the phone
So, my dad dropped his phone, cracked the screen. Only way to repair it was to send it back to Japan. Instead of repairing it, they sent back a brand new phone. A locked new phone. Wouldn't give me the sim unlock code so had to send it back again. Finally came back still locked!
Does anyone know anywhere to get the unlock code? Just sad throwing away $700...
Only Docomo shop unlock this phone and do not give unlock code, if you want unlock you have to bring to Docomo shop.
