Video Drivers? - Mogul, XV6800 ROM Development

Has anyone made any attempts to port the Kaiser updated video drivers from HTC class action.com to the Titan?
http://htcclassaction.org/driverprogress.php#update_20080819_1
Seems that they think any WM 6.1 rom should be able to run it..

If you want optimal results, put your phone into flight mode and close all other programs.
Put TCPMP into GFI mode (Direct Draw is good too for most) and go to page "advanced" and put A/V offset to -300.
This is flawless even through 95% of panning and scene changes.

Interesting.. i noticed my Opera mini running in Jbed is much smoother when scrolling. But standard windows apps are not much improvement.
Thanks for the tip.

That's an interesting idea. Wouldn't help me with Slingplayer though!

No, not unless you are connecting to the internet via wifi. Then data connection wouldn't matter and you could use slingbox in flight mode.

Hope the new PDAViet 4.0.0.0.5 Touch will not have not have any bug and run smoothly on our Prophet. I did a search on the specification of all the Prophet. It seems that HTC Touch uses the same processer, same memory size and same size LCD screen. Lets look on the bright side and support PDAViet on their ROM cooking
yeah hope that they remove the wmp & replace it using htc audio manager & using tcpmp as the default video player.

I like WMP, because it syncs perfectly with WMP11 on my desktop PC. HTC audio manager also doesn't support playlists as far as I know.
Yes it does...
But I still like WMP more than TCPMP...

P/s: This version is cooked from 4.0.0.0.5a by PhamQuang. I'm too busy to release my version now. Maybe i'll release it in 1 or 2 weeks!

Problem of video

I have proven with several programs to see video, proved several resolutions and nothing. To the 5 minutes to be seeing a video in the HTC an error in the synchronization of the image with the sound takes place... There is some solution? I have proven the TCPMP, the WM, the DIVX... and nothing...
Sorry for my english!
Do you have used a converter for the video's?
I'm using PQDVD http://www.pqdvd.com/watch_dvd_on_pocket_pc.html to convert the original videos to 320x240.
The videos are then almost between 150MB and 220MB.
And TCPMP are working fine with these videos

this has happened to me since day one. its been discussed a lot here. but due to the ati problem, programs such as tcpmp, cant use the overlay to its full effect, so after a while, you will lose sync unfortunatly. I was hopping it would have been fixed a while ago.

Should I continue having TCPMP in my roms?

I see many people are now using core player instead of tcpmp. so let me hear from you if i should still continue having it cooked into my rom or if i should use the space for something else?
if i dont include it i can always have it in the addon rar so if u choose the option of not having rom and want to have it in the addons rar then please say so via a reply to this thread.
no,it takes space, outdated, evreybody nowadays uses coreplayer which has support for .wmv. I do agree it should be an addon. If this was to still be cooked in the future, just get rid of windows m dia player ,you cant have 2 media players in 1 rom !!!

More complicated than that. Yes I would appreciate the last official TCPMP being installed, 0.72RC1.
0.81 takes longer to load, loses buttons and the timer, but can do subtitles. I appreciate it's all combined as a single .cab so may be marginally easier to include in the rom.
I have both installed, but only use the cooked version when I plan to watch a subtitled film.
Thanks for your interest!

Please explain more fully!!!
you need to copy the contents of this zip into the windows folder in your phone !
I found tcpmp 0.72RC1 to be the best tcpmp.
Although I voted pro to retain tcpmp, I seldom used the cooked tcpmp, but used tcpmp 0.72RC1 instead for the main reason that lyrics can be showd in big letter and in a full screen. But the cooked tcpmp will be first in portrait, you have to set it to landscape. Secondly, lyrics is shown in upleft corner and in a very small screen. If you can cooked tcpmp 0.72RC1, that will be wonderful.
I confirm that it is better to have this player in the form of addon!
Yes, the 0.72RC1 still the best of the lot. Core video playback is not as smooth even with the update for Advantage, so claimed. Please have the tcpmp as an add-on will be fine.

actually video is spectacular on coreplayer, just use ati imageon with acceleration off, on benchmark I got around 180-190% on videos .wmv/.mpg

cant you right click on the file and go to properties then go the one of the tabs and then click advanced and i think it tells you this stuff.
There is a thead somewhere on here where someone got the video playback quality that is in the Xperia. The CAB hasn't been released yet but when it does the Touch Pro will have the best video quality in the US. I can't do a search for it right now.

Tcpmp new rmvb plugin

This is the new RMVB plugin. A/V is now synced. Works on all TCPMP builds. Must remove the old RMVB plugin before installing. Enjoy!
Install this cab
www.4shared.com/file/u3rYxGK_/TCPMP_RMVB_PLUGIN.html
or extract these files to the TCPMP program folder
www.4shared.com/file/NbUnqU3D/RMVB.html
If you already have the old RMVB plugin installed I suggest installing the cab because the the old plugin had different reg entries. If you are going to manually install then make sure this reg entry is gone after removing the old plugin, HKLM/SOFTWARE/TCPMP/RMFF or it may not work properly.
i just try it but still cant use it. Any instruction? bro.
If u r using the other RMVB files u must remove RMDECODER & RMSPLITTER before this will work.
works beautifully on my HD2. thanks!

probably. I run hd2 at 1ghz all the time. Also make sure your video file has a relatively low bit-rate (<500kbit/s)

If the resolution is high it will cause this. The worst files for this are ON2 VP6. WMV 9 are also prone to doing this frequently.

Thanks for bringin this to my attention. I also tried and skins would not work. I uninstalled the reinstalled now skins work. Hope this helps you.
I used the manual-install method, no previous RMVB codecs installed. Works pretty good. A little choppy on higher-res videos, have a couple that show good subs and have audio but video is all lines. That's OK though as I also have the WMP-RMVB fix installed, so between the two I have RMVB covered. Thanks! Now I don't have to transcode my huge library of old Chinese kung fu films.
