I was talking about some app that might not work with the 800x480 i had the hw6515 before the athena and i hated the 240x240 display. as there were a lot of apps that it did not work with back then they have gotten better now but.... maybe its just me

The ROM is very near release. Last night the team started testing the final portion of the ROM and we're almost done. After testing is done I see no reason to hold back the release. Everyone keep your batteries charged...even if you have a copy already you WILL want to flash this last build.

The ap4 release will be free. However, donations are always welcome and encouraged in that it helps the team buy devices, etc. as well as another way to show your appreciation Many of the team members have a thread in their signatures where you can donate (paypal). There is also a donation link on the forums. My understanding is that there will be a link along w/howtos when ap4 is released (there is a link for that aleady started in the forums). I'd never had a paypal account until I donated here so its easy to set paypal account up.
Many of us don't have the expertise (hence we aren't on the team). Some of us might be on a very tight budget (though even $5 devalued almost worthless US dollars is appreciated). But most everyone can give their respect, encouragement and patience to all those who labor on our behalf. Right now patience is hard--but it is something we can give the pk4 rom team. Guys, like ltxda says it's almost their..We were going to test what hopefully is the final release last night, but we all decided we needed a beer. Just kidding (It got to late)..Actually the test roms so far are working great and you wont be disappointed.

OK....it's really far far far off before it's released and maybe one day it just shows up....
Not to keep building everyone's hopes up, but these guys want to get it out asap. Just think how much time they are putting into it. When I'm on in the IRC's at 12 midnight(USA) and Olipro or Cmonex are on it's 500am where they are at(I believe it's the UK). Personally I would rather be getting some beauty sleep..

Mexican Corona beer is a good choice while waiting for ap4 release but with moderation. I prefer wait for a reasonable time if at the ending the ap4 rom testers check the bugs that can brick our devices. It's better to be patient. All of us have ours athenas working, our only needs is update the rom but some day will be ready to install. Greetings from México.

I kinda have to agree here... DCD 3.2.6 has just been stable and good to me... I am going to give nueRom3 a shot eventually, but I think the excitement of the Titan is gone and people are now focusing on the Diamond and Touch Pro

I agree, it has been a ghost town after GC hooked us up with solid GPS. Not a whole lot more hardware wise we can do. We need to focus on creating bad ass custom ROMS. Check my first publicly released rom at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=436997&page=2 Post #15.

not sure about the rest of you, but I am completely satisfied with dcd3.2.6 and intend to keep running it until the Touch HD is released in the US.
I really wish development would have continued, I never got SMS working on 3.2.6, so I'm stuck with 3.2.5 and the annoying callwating... noise.
Yea and sucks b/c verizon wont get a diamond or anything like it for a very long time so Im stuck with what we got here

I agree with you, things seem slow around here. I read this forum every night, seems as though DCD was always trying to find a better way to do something and a lot of other great solutions were born out his enthusiasm. Hope to see him back soon!

According to an article on on Engagdet Mobile training for the Touch Diamond had to be completed by December. So maybe Verizon will be getting it sooner then everyone expects. It is Verizon though so who knows.

Sprint is getting the Touch HD, just not in its current form. It will have WiMAX integrated when released in the US next year.

I've been following this one... I'm due for an upgrade. As much as I love my Titan, I am always up for the latest and greatest - and the Omnia does look pretty nice. I do seem to remember a similar topic last year with the XV6800... didn't it show up on some rebate forms months before it was released? Knowing Verizon, I'm not getting my hopes up yet...

Very true. Came out like 3 months after it first started showing up on the rebate forms.
So HTC's two new 2.1 phones were rooted by Paul O'Brian, hours after he had his hands on them.

Apparently it was 'easy'. He is without internet and on vacation for two weeks, so no more details.
For Legend/Desire users it does not mean much yet, due to file systems being locked. However if this could be used on our 2.1 ROMs, we would be wide open.
Did we miss something simple? If you have time, and willingness please join me in looking for something simple, that could of been overlooked by both HTC and ourselves. This has been on my mind for days.
Several Desire owners have informed me that oem unlock is disabled just like our phones, so the n1 method is not what he used. I image the desire/legend kernel is somewhat close to our's. Like our's, no kernel source is available.
Any Shots are welcome.

Long time Lurker, first time poster.
I know that the roms from HTC are signed and it would be almost imposable to hack the key used to sign the roms. However have the developers looked at it from the other direction? Do we know how the Eris stores the certificate that is used to check the signed Roms? Dose the Eris use a keystore for this and is that store shared with the web browser? Would it be possible to Inject or replace the Cert in order to sign our own roms? I'm guessing not but you never know.
I'm not a dev so its ok to flame me if this is way off base or been covered before.
Also thank to all the Dev's for all of your hard work.

@jcase: I'm thinking he just used a pre-compiled root (asroot/m7 etc), which would be the easiest possible way to do it. We have tried pretty much all known kernel sploits a hundred different ways and the Eris kernel still stands untouched. However, if these newer phones are vulnerable to the same exploits (need official word on this from Paul), then perhaps they're not patched on Eris, but are just incompatible / working not as intended.

He "found" it before ever seeing one of the phones, just a leaked rom. I think its a permissions issue that we may have overlooked in 2.1.
thawkth, about 5 minutes after he releases details, I will know if it applies to us.
I don't think anyone gives a damn about the bounty, if someone does contact caboose and pay him his dues (if he wants them), he got us the root.
I know that jcase isn't really haggin with us any more so hopefully someone will be following up with this, it sounds promising. I am keeping an eye on the OP over at modaco but I am not sure that I have the knowledge base to replicate Pual's work if he shares his exploit. Thanks

my theory is that it's not an individual or a few but the community. everyone was ranting and raving and showing impatience for his upcoming themes. when the time came to release he was underwhelmed from the thanks/donations afterwards. I could be wrong but that's my guess

I think he specifically said in his mods thread that it had nothing to do with lack of thanks/appreciation.
Mike D's themes were legit. Seeing what he was able to do has pushed me into learning how to theme roms
IM sure he will be back one day...
He is just working more hours... If he got more donations for his work I am sure he could cut back on his hours.

perhaps I'll start doing small things in his place. I'm not good enough to do total themes but I can certainly decompile/recompile,edit png colors and switch font color hex codes in the xmls

I always donate to those whose work I consistently use. But then I also buy apps.
There's a reason why devs want to dev for iphone even though there are more android phones out there. Android users tend to be cheapskates who would rather steal an app than pay for it.
cant blame the community . this one is the same as others. i know someone who was working on bamf rezound in the beginning said hed stop cause of the "community" and he did . we're not THAT bad, but quitting cause of that is kinda lame- though i do understand in away .

Users forget that Dev's are people with real lives and real responsibilities and that Android Dev'ing, for the most, of us is just a hobby like collecting Stamps or baseball cards. They seem to think that because we make cool things we are some giant company with the resources of many when in fact we are only one person trying to bring some fun to your device. But anyways.. You know that already and I am grateful for your support!

honestly, I would still be on wp7 if verizon had one with lte and a bigger screen. Really enjoyed my hd7. Spent more time using my phone. Tinkering with it is fun, but didn't miss it jumping from winmo to wp7. Used to build my own roms back then, but haven't had the time to really dive into what makes android tick.

I dreamed we were getting Jellybean 4.1 and will be out no later than the middle of June but maybe sooner. Basically the same code Asus is putting into the Google Nexus 7 inch tablet due out towards the end of June.

It has been very quiet. Maybe they actually have noticed that the Prime does not perform like a quad core tablet should and they are seriously fixing the software. At least I hope so.

I was going to post a similar thread to this yesterday - It has been a while since it went in to testing.
I hope for a dramatic increase in speed when the update is eventually shipped! Anyways all speculation for now.

lol, is that what it is? I was wondering why you didn't just post it here! Makes sense now - yeah sorry i'm one of the ones clogging up your inbox - leave me till last i'm in no rush seen as my charger has decided to pack in
I guess Google is realizing just how buggy this chip is.
Hopefully, by implementing it for the Nexus tab, they will fix the issues without crippling the device too much.

I have been pm'ed by a member asking if I had heard anything and thought I gotta be a little proactive here so bear with me. The pm did not upset me but thought I'd better put this out there anyway.
Please do not pm me asking if I have heard anything about the next update. I was kidding around with demandrin (dunno if I spelled that right) earlier in this thread and that was all it was. I don't get inside info from him nor will I ask him for it. My Prime is working better than it has been with .21. It isn't perfect but I am happy with it.
I PM'd you demandarin, I think I got the wrong idea about asking for updates, sorry for the PM!

Or if possible, is there an actual official Asus website devoted to tablets? I've looked in the past and have not found one. I think it would be more useful if I were giving and getting feedback to someone actually from Asus.

The information drought isnt good for anybody, but, I think its very telling.Getting second hand information , is not only unreliable, generally it is not current or correct, regardless of what some people think.
Just got home from work. Do to the sheer number of pm's I got, I will just post here shortly. Have to run an errand real quick then will post.
