Security Certificates - Mogul, XV6800 ROM Development

I am running DCD 3.2.6 I use an app Barron's Mobile, When trying to use it today I got an error about my security certificates being invalid on my phone. How can I manually update these?
TIA to anyone that can help me with this!

have you ever been able to run that app before?
sounds like your phone or the software is unable to run just cuz its not ment to be ran. its a common output error

Yes. But not since flashing the last rom.

Today it started working again. Must have been on their end.

is their any way to send me a link to the right update? because i tried the one from HTC via microcard and it wont load anything.
That would be hard in that I know nothing about your carrier. But I only have Verizon stuff. Maybe add your info to every post.

are you using VMWARE Fusion or Parallels Desktop?
If so, update to the lastest version and/or change the settings to "GUEST ONLY" for USB......
I has that issue a while back on a treo, several during the update process it "disconnects" the USB momentarily....
If you had it set to "ask me" then, it would attempt to "ask you.", causing the updater no not see it. (No fusion or parallels, because there is no valid firmware on the device.)
If that was your issue, let me know, please.
Just download the lastest rom and extract the .nbh from the .exe with winrar. Rename it properly and flash away.
Also, you may way to look into either olipro 2.40 or nueSPL 2.47 for your bootloader. It could be that you are trying to load an incompatible ROM. Check the wikis and stickies for a compatibility list of bootloader/radio/ROM.
i got it to turn on and stay on but i cant update it to 6.1 because of the SPL 1.20 bootloader i think how can i update it. i have dcd_2[1].0.0_beta_sprint.exe but it will not load on my phone even if i change the name. any idea's? also i tried to RUU_TITAN_SPRINT_WWE_3.56.651.0_RS_TITAN_3.42.02_SPCS2.04_PPST_0718_Ship.exe flash that on and still gives an error.
BTW thanks alot for helping me out
Look at Step II - 1 in the wiki. http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=TitanRecentHome
You are also using a pretty old ROM made by DCD. He made a bunch more that worked very well before he stopped posting.

How do I reset my Hero to factory 1.5?

Hi, I installed VillainRome 10.3.0 and now I keep getting errors and cant make or receive calls, so for now I would just like to roll my phone back to 1.5.
How can I do this?
I tried the home + back button thing, but it just resets the 2.1 that's on here..
Sorry I'm quite a n00b at this so any help would be appreciated
Hi
i was using BeHero (actualy my girlfriend did) after a while the device was very slow and wanted to return to 1.5
for me it was quite a pain to return to the original. on my PC i found an old nandroid backup (1.73) but was unable to restore that with RA-revovery 1.6 so i downgraded that to 1.5 again through adb
then i was able to restore the old backup
from that backup i upgraded to 2.73
when the phone got internet (wifi or 3G) the first part anounced itself and was installed very quickly
my girlfriend is happy with 1.5+ (a pitty for some lack of features) i hope HTC will real ota the update soon
Just use one of the RUUs on the first post to get everything back.
RUU didn't work from Behero 1.3.2, "error 170 unable to connect"

Same for me from Cronos 1.7.1
hi ok, so I got the RUU from shipped-roms:
RUU_Hero_HTC_WWE_2.73.405.66_WWE_release_signed_NoDriver.exe
but when I try running it it says conection error and wont go on
what am I doing wrong?
Make sure you have HTC sync installed.other than that search Google how to extract Android rom.zip from ruu the link to a blog will tell you how then fastboot flash the system and boot
If you update to VR 10.3.3 you will most likely get rid of the problem you are having. The VR team push updates out extremely quickly. You should check the VR site out more (and join the IRC channel they have, people can help you solve issues there)
Hi all tx for the advice.. I really need my phone during the day so I had to act quickly lol
I ended up flushing with:
HeroDroid07-signed.zip
Everything is running smoothly now and its working great

I´ve the same problem, but i installed htc-synk on my old lapptop with Win XP, then all worked Ok.
Hero_RUU_Hero_HTC_WWE_2.73.405.6_R_WWE_release_signed_NoDriver.exe + OTA from HTC
Moved as not Android Development.
I think i worked it out
when i got the connection error i did the following:
a. make shure you download the correct RUU installer from your local HTC website
b. get the Android SDK tools
c. make sure your phone is charged (beyond 51%)
1. run RUU installer and continu until you got the error, don't click OK yet
1. go to temp folder (win7: C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Temp\)
2. copy the files HTC RUU extracted (some wierd folder name, sort on date/time) to a safe place
3. in the RUU folder, replace the adb and its DLL with the one from the SDK tools
4. start RUU from the new folder.
5. it should be fine now

[Q] HTC one won't update...HELP!

Yesterday I went to Best Buy and bought a brand new HTC one. I have not done anything to it at all. I haven't even installed any new apps on it yet. the only thing I have done is update all of the current apps that came pre installed. I've tried several times now to update the device however each time it either says there are no new updates or the update server is offline. Software version is 4.1.2. Can anyone help me with this? It's so frustrating

well you have 2 options .. you wait or you force the update with whats called a RUU (Retail Update Utility). I'll assume you have the AT&T Version
you'll find the RUU here ->> http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu_m7_...3_10-38j-1157-04_release_334235_signed_2-exe/
it's a windows file just follow the instructions on screen

I have a similar problem. I've got an HTC One that I recently dropped back to stock so I could play with the OTA, and get 4.4 when it's ready. Every time I try to update, it tells me the server is offline. I figured it was a problem with my back-to-stock method, but glad to see it's not just me.

I am having the same issue. Please let me know what works for you.

I tried the program you recommended but it seems to be stuck on the step "waiting for the bootloader." When I run the program my phone restarts and the HTC symbol is on the screen but it doesn't do anything. I also tried to put my phone in fastboot mode but that doesn't seem to work. Do you have any recommendations on what I can do to fix this issue?

Got the message, haven't done it yet. Nothing on AT&T's page for it. Anyone figure out what it's for yet?
Hey Guys,
I am aware that an update has begun rolling out. Not a whole lot of information has been released as of yet. I am still waiting for the changelog to come across my desk. I have been told it fixes some "major" issues. I will keep you posted if I hear anything new.
Breaks root. TR brings it back no problem.
Feels a little snappier. Could just be psychosomatic. Everything I use on the regular works fine. Pandora, facebook, tinder, etc.
I get an error. /system/build.prop has unexpected error. Error in cache/Asus a91_108.16_nor (status 7)
Anyone have a stock build prop they can share

I got the update today and tried to applied it (still using the stock ATT ROM but rooted) and it failed. A reboot got me back to the normal operation but can't update it for 24 hours. Since then (maybe before) the dock keyboard won't communicate with the phone.
The update didn't do much else than make everything run a little bit smoother. Even the connection to the dock is only slightly more fluid. All in all, I think it was just a minor bug fix, nothing seems to have changed.

Similar issue here, except its asusAAB.OBEX has unexpected contents. Running stock that was rooted through TR, but I had previously uprooted, also deleted SU and daemonSU.
Did a factory reset and still got the same error.
Bah horrible I can't find a build.prop anywhere

Sounds like most of us are getting errors when trying to update. What options do we have? This kinda sucks.
I've got stock unrooted nandroids in another thread. Don't know if it'll work or not. I've successfully flashed those nandroids w/o a factory reset, too
Looks like I'll be giving that a shot tonight! I'll report back if it works.
Where is the update stored on the device and can I pick apart the stock build prop to possibly fix my issue

Hello, I have the exact problem with the asusAAB.ODEX* having unexpected contents and causing an error during the update. The update just failed for the 3rd time. Have you or anyone had any luck figuring this out? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Chesley
Sadly, I haven't. I read the instructions for trying to restore a stock nandroid, but man, that stuff is just too damn confusing. And I'm a pretty technical guy! Software just isn't my thing, I guess.
I can't even imagine the rooting caused that error, I don't think root would touch that file at all!

Yeah the nandroid stuff is a bit technical although its not too bad, I have done it on previous android phones but never this one. The only reason I am trying to avoid that option is because I don't want to have to re-install everything and add all my accounts back and whatnot. It will be the last thing I try.
I'm not sure about rooting causing the error as others stated that the update removes root. I also have my phone rooted. I unrooted it to see if it would work but it still has the same asusAAB.odex error after the phone downloads the update then reboots.
I am suspicious of Lucky Patcher causing the problem... Have you used that app?
[edit] Hey also if you need help with the TWRP install, I can help with that. I have links to the TWRP and the stock recovery for our phones, and have successfully flashed both recovery's to test them out. I have my own edited working adb commands since the ones from here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2790542) did not work for me because the links no longer work.
[edit 2] Hey also I found an apk in the root folder, here is the path: /system/app/AsusAABService.apk . I installed that apk and it said it updated the app but I have to wait 21 hours and 35 minutes before I can try the update again to see if it solved the issue.

I found the apk as well, and a reinstall didn't help me at all. I'm considering actually backing up and then deleting the odex and seeing what happens.

Oh damn. I havnt found the odex yet though. If you can point me in the direction to the odex, I will check it out and try some stuff on it.
I had the same error.. Did everything including a factory reset.. No joy.. I've had enough.. I called AT&T and they are swapping this for a S5.
As for shipping update delays.. Just change the date ahead a day and uncheck auto date.. Somehow it registers the date from the phine

Package verification failed - Make it stop!

I unlocked the bootloader and installed TWRP, but have not rooted. I have the OTA install of Android 11. I keep getting this message on my phone. At least once a day!
"Package verification failed - the update package being downloaded is not compatible with the current software version on the device"
Please, someone help me to disable this message. It is driving me nuts. Also I don't know if it is wasting bandwidth downloading an update that it isn't able to install.
Did you change firmware regions?
No, I don't even know how to do that, and I doubt such a thing could be done accidentally by unlocking the bootloader and installing TWRP.
Ok, I see now there is an option in Settings called "System Updates", within which one can disable automatic downloading of new updates. I disabled it so we'll see if I stop seeing the annoying message. Though I'm almost certain that this will work. Yes I know I'm a moron for not having found this obvious setting sooner. Oh well, I hope this post will help other folks out there.
Is there any solution to this. I get the notification daily despite disabling the Settings/System Updates?

I ultimately had to root the device and then install the De-Bloater app. Nothing but rooting ever worked.

Its suppose to fail, if its a signature verification, just make sure you have the exact files needed, see if your device is 64arm or 64 etc I had the same problem before fully educating myself with the whole process, let me know if this helps. Do a factory reset fully, redo every step and apply the ota package then apply any other packages like gapps etc but if you're doing a gapps install do it immediately after the lineage ota. With all this being said I hope you've already booted into the lineage recovery' failure to do so will result as an unsuccessful attempt
