i used my prophet about 2 years and so far i didn't got any trouble expect small fix. now my prophet flash and rom upgrade works almost everything well but i am having issue of conversation. if somebody call me i can have rings but i can't heared anjything and also who ever i try to call there is no sound at all. even WM player plays but no sound. no notification sound nothing.
i try useing earphone and it gives me very much low sound but if i call or recive then same problem.
does anybody have clue what going on with my prophet?
please i really need urs suggestion .

any further information.
may be tweak of sound if u know so, as far as i guess i used the photo contact pro 5.09 and set the setting up to loud and may be this things made to happen this problem

what happen this morning is that i change the battery and it work for a while and after i connect to the pc then it back to the same trouble and now i am downloading ur 1d-storm and i will try this one too if any change happen i will let u know.
i am very glad u help me on this trouble what ever happen.

I got this problem sometime, but after I did hard reset it will be ok. I've encounter this problem many cook rooms. but for original shiped room is ok
even when i am trying to speaker on it didn't work. i already flash the original rom but i hae same problem. i can use my prophet only by ear phone. expect that i can't use coz' there is no sound.

Hi,
I keep having problems on my audio from time to time. Sometimes the audio is working sometimes it doesn't. What is weird is, the ringtone is working but once I answer the phone I could not hear anything, as well as the person calling. This would happen after quite sometime then my phone would go back to normal(working w/ audio) after a few hours or even days after I perform either a hard or soft reset. Kindly advice.
any takers or brave soul out there?

Ur explaination is too general..
1) Is ur device is ATOM ?
2) What ROM ur using
3) What Radio version u r using..
4) What kind of 3rd pary softwares u used..
and so on.. buddy.. be more informative .. if u want an answer..

phonealarm version 1.66.1(Build 223) and Calendar+ 2.5.2.61002 are the only installed application. I just copy and create a shortcut for the other applications I'm using.
Other infos, I'm using a jabra 250v bluetooth for the headset. No prob w/ the bluetooth but w/o it(bluetooth) the prob occurs. It's really hard for me to isolate or to pin point the prob bec it happens intermittently. Hoping somebody could really help me out...

1. if you can make recordings with you prophet, that means the mic. of it is working fine,
2. can hear music, that mean the speaker in fine.....
3. well, did you mute your phone?
4. or alternatively, you may try to flash other roms, but,
5. you can also try to hard reset you phone before starting any further.. ^_^

hardware problem...
ive had this several months back...
its due to using the headphone a lot of the time that causes the metal in the audio jack to damage or lose its "spring"ity..hehe...
theres way to fix it...try find some post in xda

i cann't use headset and handsfree whit wire . i can only use hadsfree bluetooth . and when i chenge my device ROM the headset work but after 10 min or 15min or few more that not work . early after softrest that work but after few hours again headset not work . and when i use over and over for several time of headset that work and again after few minutes headset not work .

1. You case did sound like the ear-piece of the prophet is getting aged. (hardware matters)
2. Aging of electrical components cause unstable performance of the hardware,
3. I am afraid you need to replace the ear-piece of your prophet to dig your way out.
( or re-flash you prophet will be an alternative, to see if really a chance for software problem)
if so, feel free to flash with the tool from my signature.Error free anyway~ ^^ )

1. flash other rom (you may click and follow the steps @ my signature ),
2. bring your phone to repair
Strange, my other prophet (Xda Neo) has this issue, I think it is HW. I tried flashing Radio Rom, but no luck, also I changed earpiece but no luck. I will try flashing WM6, bluetooth headset works fine, very strange.

There are separate speakers for hands free and earphone on xda neo (htc prophet) as i know, i had a problem with hands-free (music) speaker but i could still hear when making calls.
I don't know if this is going to help you, or you already solved it.

ok here it is now please suggest some solution....
my problem is that the earphone speaker of my imate jamin is not working properly. i mean when i make or recieve a call i could not hear the caller's voice but when i turn the speaker on its fine and when i turn the speaker off theirs no voice they could hear me but i cannot .

head phone jack faulty
it could be the head phone jack which is faulty, try plug in and out a few see if it work and able to listen the caller.
it the common problem in the head phone jack.
hope my suggestion help you solve the problem

Try a WM5 ROM and see if that helps.
Also try the headphone trick in the post above this.
Failing that, I would assume it's a hardware issue.

there aint no problem with the headphone jack because when i use the headphones it works fine even with the speaker (on the back) it works fine. the problem is with the front one (aka ear piece). some times it works and some times it doesn't.
and i've been using WM6 ROMs since last year and there was no trouble as such. it started like last week. now i've even tried old (WM6) ROMs but...
now i'll try WM5 and would tell you.

yeah i just traced out the problem and it is kinda hardware. when i press the back cover (upper one with the camera lena) during the call it starts working but otherwise dont.
and i think the reason is that the device fell down on the ground a few days ago.
now what would you suggest ... if i should open it myself and tighten the back cover or take it to some vendor???

Your choice... The back part is not hard to take of, but to get to the speaker etc you need a T6 screwdriver, and it will void any warranty you have...
glad that your problem is solved in some way. as the early post state not hard to open up the back cover. I've try too and wanna take the camera out too.

and one thing, touch in some grounded surface, like your computer metal case.
the static could kill your prophet.If you need some help how to open it add me in msn I can help you

Every i-mate JAMin has this prob. sumtime i got it two times.......its a hardware prob. with headphone jack.when u plugin ur headphone it routes the sound to headphone but whn u remove it the sound doesnt get rerouted to speaker...simple solution take a pin and start pokin to the right of jack theres a contact there which u have to try to un-connect......n if u cant do it give it for repairs

I have a problem with my tg01. The problem is that when I ring someone the person on the other side can hear me but I cant hear them. So I was woundering if anyone else has the same problem and if there is a fix to it. Also if there is no fix then how do I get it repaired as the phone is more then 6 months old and orange wont fix it.

Do you have SRS wow installed? is so soft reset after each install of the 3 cabs. Can you hear people if they ring you? Have you tried turning up the volume when you make calls, I think i had a handset that had no sound when set on vibrate/silent. When the volume was increased the sound came back.
are using an cooked rom ?
