Hi.. i have searched the threads and i know none is specific to mine, well i think..
I have an ATT 8925, and i flashed the rom to dutty's WM6.1 WWE version
rom date 4/29/08
radio version 1.65.14.06
protocol version 25.81.40.02w
I really need to downgrade back to the stock or original rom that it came with (wm6) before i bring it in for a warranty replacement. Keep in mind that it was working fine for about 2 months. I experienced the red light of death and i used the fix to get it back on, but now Im not able to make or receive calls..or experiencing a lack of connectivity.
Can someone walk me through the steps that I need to do to downgrade it to the original Att 8925 WM6 rom. I really do not want to pay another 400 for this phone again.
If you need any more information, I will be willing to give.
Please help
Isn't the 8925 a Kaiser?
You may need to check out the Kaiser forum as the Hermes SPL will DEFINATELY brick your device...
Cheers...

After having successfully upraded my Imate to the newer WM2003SE ROM (2.06WWE), I want to know if it is possible to revert back to the "official" ROM.
Can i just run the HimaUpdate... file for the older ROM and it will work or do I have to do something else?
Has anyone done it? With/Without success?
as far as I know, YES
if you'll run into any troubles, just let me know.
buzz
Absolutely YES!!!... mine was reverted from 2.20 to 2.02 to 2.20 to 2.06 to 1.77 to 2.02 to 1.77 to 2.20 to 2.06.. YES i am experimenting something from that all updates still i have no exoerience having problem... Just run Himaupgr...exe.. thats all
Mind you, since my device is an imate, i ran the "modified" version of the XDA II rom (modified for the carrier, country code and language). And I dont remember where I read it. but I think someone somewhere said that its not as simple as just running the HimaUpdate file.
But the HimaUpdate I will be running to revert back to the official Imate ROM (1.72) is made by Imate so I would think the country, carrier and language settings in that one are already correct.
So you sure I can just run it?
BTW, Reason I am reverting is because I think my signal reception is degraded (from before the upgrade even) and it seems to be a hardware issue. So to get it fixed by them (its under warrenty) I need to have the official rom or the warrenty is void.
Ok boys, I'm gonna do it. (after one more confirmation from you) just a little scared I am you see.....
My T mobile branded Vario II fell off my lap yesterday (in its case) Theres not a scratch on it and its only 4months old. Later on i had loads of missed calls and then realised it wont ring or vibrate or play mp3's.
Im currently running one of HTC's Roms, SPL-1.09 is my bootloader and im not sure how to reflash with the original T-mobile rom before i head back to the shop to see about a replacement
I keep getting a invalid vendor id, and from reading posts on the forums i know i need to do something with the cid so i can flash back down to the original rom.But im getting confused between a super cid and a cid? as what ive found below just mentions cid and not super cid.
Is this the file i need? HTC_Hermes_SIM_CID_Unlock_v3a ? i just run the .bat file then install the orginal t mobile rom as normal?
What im basically asking is the above right to ahead with? as i just need some reassurance as if i cant blag one under warranty then ill have to use my insurance which as its my second claim in 6 months has a excess of £60
Yes i have looked on the forums for hours but cant see any info.
Thanks in advance should anyone help
EDIT well ive run the unlocker and supercid'd it but it still wont let me flash with the original t mobile rom?
ERROR:260 Update Error
im getting the above error?
Is all I will say is click on the mrvanx guide in my signature.

thanks guys i will try the above. if not i think ill "loose" the phone
Hi Gavin01,
Good luck with the downgrade - I'd be interested to know how it goes. I also have a T-Mobile MDA Vario II, and so far I've put HardSPL 7 and Radio ROM 1.41 onto it. I'm just trying to decide which WM6 ROM I want to try out
Anyway, I have at the back of my mind that I don't really know how to downgrade it in the case of a warranty claim. The MrVanx guide to downgrading WM5 looks ok, but I'd love to know how to put the radio rom back (I guess this would just be the reverse of the upgrade), but then finally taking taking HardSPL off. In fact I'd vote for a guide on it - would write it myself but I have to confess I'm rather a newbie to the world of HTC upgrades....
Cheers,
sparky
I have the same problem
I´d like to downgrade to original softbank settings. But they only accept warranty issues if you have the original cid? , right?
So putting the old rom back on is not my problem, "un-super-cid" it is.
I need help please too
Hello,
please excuse, but i have a question and i will not open a new threat.
I use tytn. I have installed the Radio Version 1.40 and the Black 3.01 Rom. I have used HardSPL and when i go into the bootloader i have Herm200 IPL 1.04 and Herm200 SPL 2.10 OliPro. My question is: it is not possible to go back to wm5 with the installer RUU Hermes 1.18....-Qtek_Ger_Ship. Because in this installer is a Radio Rom. When i will use it, i lost my Radio and i have No GSM. The only way to go back is with MrVanx Hermes downgrade guide. Is this correctness ??
( This is what i think after using the help-function and the wiki )
When this is right, so Please Please, can a specialist please build a litte .exe-File so that i can make a downgrade to my mw5? Sorry, i am not idle, i am not able to to this. And please excuse my english. I will say say thank you very very much for your helping. With the best regards from Berlin say Christian
I'm pretty new to the whole flashing rom thing and I upgraded to the At&t rom not to long ago, but now my screen has issues and I need to return it under warrenty. My question is how do I downgrade it to the out of the box rom and where do I find it. It is a cingular branded 8525 by the way. Thanks
you upgraded to wm5 at&t rom?
Yea, I'm confused as well. Someone upgrades to WM6 or to a cooked ROM. Going to AT&T WM5 is either backward, or vertical at best. Doubt there's an issue going back for warranty since Cing/AT&T authorizes those kinds of 'upgrades'.
I apologize for the confusion, like I said I'm new at this.
I updated the rom to 2.15.502.3, upgraded the radio to 1.48, and upgraded to HardSPL 2.10 from Olipro.

That rom I downloaded seems like the exact same one I had. Should I find the rom that originally came on the phone or am I still under warranty with this At&t rom?
as long as its from AT&t your warranty is still A OK..
Hi guys,
I need to send my MDA Vario II in for repairs, and I'm currently running a WM6 upgrade. Obviously they won't be too pleased with this, so I'd like to return it to its original T-Mobile WM5 state.
I *know* there's bound to be a thread about it already, and I'm sorry, I haven't been able to find it!
If someone could point me in the direction of the original ROM, I'd be very, very grateful!
Many thanks,
Gav
EDIT: My apologies! I just found that T-Mobile UK have the WM6 firmware on their site now! How times have changed! That should be OK for returning it, shouldn't it? After all, I only have a problem with the screen, not the software...

I suggest you flash their version of WM6 before sending it back though. They might not be too happy about a cooked ROM especilly if it's going in for a warranty repair.

Hey m8 i hav sent like 5-6 hermes back all with custom roms, and they replaced it with no question after a couple of weeks of repairing
I know it's been said before but don't forget TM's WM6 ROM: http://member.htc.com/RuuDownload/T-mobile/TMobileWM6Step1-TMUK.aspx?country=UK
(via tm-phonedownloads.com) - I'm running it right now partly out of laziness (and because the cooked ROMs on here didn't quite have all the elements I wanted, so I flashed the TM ROM while I made my mind up about which ROM I'd go with... And I've not reflashed yet!)
Hi guys I feel totally stupid right now. And upset. I got a used 7500 and it had a Michy ROM. I put the original WWE(I think?) ROM on it and that worked. Then I installed the AP 4.0 ROM and that worked fine. I then wanted to go back to the WWE ROM and when I tried installing it I get the SPL errors... I've tried installing all of the original WWE ROMS and none seemed to work and only gave back the error. Now I'm stuck at the colored striped screen and can't install a ROM or doing anything. I'm begging your help guys. I'll depost 10$ USD into anyone's paypal who can point me in the right direction and help me get the original WWE ROM back on it from htc's site. I'm thinking I need to use maybe MTTY to get it out of "bootloader"... But I don't know the commands... Thanks in advance. I've searched and tried a couple suggestions to no avail...
Check this thread out and this post in specific.
Downgrading
All Stock ROMS and many cooked ROMS can (only) be flashed with SPL 1.2.
The rest of the cooked ROMS (like AP4 and AP5) can (only) be flashed with SPL 3.5.
Once you have flashed a SPL 3.5 ROM you cannot easily go back to SPL 1.2 ROMS.
But there IS a way.
You can find a thread about the downgrading process here.
do you still need help ? I dont remember if you PM'd me, maybe not.
but yeah, just use the spl downgrader i made.
