Really important observation, this forum is for the XDA II, aka Himalaya, your thread title is IIi, aka the Alpine, which is not upgradable beyond WM2003.
Please check which you have.

Instructions to hard reset a Himalaya
i haven't hard reset my Alpine for a while as i have got it set up perfectly, so the abov emay not work, can't seem to find the Alpine ones. My Himalaya comes up with a very dark screen at this point, think the Alpine is the same, and you have too press the D-Pad to continue.
Check the readme that came with the ROM for detailed instructions.
Mods, please move this to the Alpine forum, others may be able to help as well.

I have a O2 XDA II german version, but i´m using T-Mobile Germany as provider. Does anybody know if it is possible to change the O2 operating system to the T-Mobile MDA II sys. ? I don´t know exactly if XDA II & MDA II are the same devices. And if possible, can somebody provide me the german T-Mobile firmware ?

It doesn't matter what kind of ROM do you have in your device, if it is running with your SIM card and is speaking in your born language... Am I right or not?

I don´t like the O2 Rom, i prefer the T-Mobile Rom, i had an MDA III but i was not satisfied with the machine, i sold it and bought a used XDA II, it works much better than the MDA III (especially phone & bluetooth), that was even a reason for me to have the T-Mobile Rom, i´m more familiar with it.

well.. greetings to everyone. My first contact with this fabulous source of knowledge was last year. İ ve bought a t mobile mda2 from Germany and the salesman told me that "the device includes english menus" . And i have no idea about their language. So i started to look for a solution in the net. Being a dentist in Turkey does not much help in technical subjects. Even though a man like(motto=they develop i use) me was able to convert the machine to an English ROM even with a newer add-ons. And nowadays i am using a ROM merged by sin 2003 SE and perfectly happy with it.
None of this devices are sold in Turkey so my friends who loved the PDA at the first sight had to look for it across the europe and internet.
Last week a very close friend of mine asked me if he buys xda2i from germany that i would somehow convert it to english . depending on the xda-developers site i said that it wont be a problem.
Thinking that alpine is only a himalaya with 1.3 camera i tried to update the machine with sinmerged 2003SE. And after that i recognised it as a fatal mistake. Now my friends XDAIIi cannat even boot. On its screen you can only see serial v1.01. and when you connect it to the computer you can only see usb 1.01 on a grey unlighted screen. I tried to install the english rom and ofcourse recieved a country id error which i could not solve. İ tried to find the original german ROm and i could not find it even in o2 official site.
So is this machine dead? please help me .
non of the htc devices can share roms
and alpine also have a different cpu, and wifi
they just look alike
Goto http://myxda.com and download the launch rom for the Xda2i. Then it will work.

No Mikee4fun it doesnt work like that. Because if i download that version of ROM and try to install it, the country code id error message stops the installation. Because my friend bought if from Germany. And O2 germany site does not hold a copy of the german ROM.
Thats why i need help. Because i tred every other and legal solutions.
İf any body knows how to pass the country id code error message please help me.
You need to use the the xda 2 nbftool located at the following to make the UK rom work with the O2 German XDA IIi unit. http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=xda2nbftool Read it and gooduck.
no rom editing for alpine
again thanx for the effort mikee4fun but these editors are only working with himalaya (MDA2-XDA2) ROMs. No one knows the password for the ALpine(XDA2i) ROMs.
So the kind of editing suggested by you can not be done.. Thats why i am asking for help!

i 've bought a xda neo from o2 germany. unfortunately, it's g4.
it has the o2 extended rom on it, but i don't want it.
i tried reading through the threads, but got confused since some say its possible to upgrade, and others not.
i mainly want to change the os language, but if i can use another rom completely (such as qtek), i would be very happy

same here, i also bought a xda neo G4 from o2 germany and able to change os language in english.
ASERG 3.3.13 is so far is the stable and fast.
before upgrade ur rom follow the insatruciton carefully.

im werner from germany and first there are excellent people in this forum. many thanks to this peoples. my problem is designed as following. by the way i am a great newbee in pda.
i get a second hand qtek 2020 from vodafone as a gift and i want to upgrade to any english version. i have to install some programs in english so i dont want install the programms on a german user interface.
so i had read and read and read postings in this forum an finally i upgraded my device to helmis version of wm2005. my device is working properly but when i want to phone i see "no service" in the display. so i have upgraded to radio version 1.18. same problem. can anyone in the forum help me to fix this issue??

many thanks for your help , i tried it once more and installed the rom on my phone again. i did not make the hard reset on my phone correctly. the phone and i hope all programs works now very properly.

I was flashing the new WM6.1 ROM from Blackdragon_860.
During this proces, My SPV C100 stayed with blackscreen. I has waited about 30 mintes and than I was disconected the USB cable.
My SPV C100 cannnot boot.
I try bootloadermode / press two button (oppos camera and power button) + camera button + powerbutton /.
I try upload ROM (a lot of ROM) to my device, but without sucsses.
My ORIGINAL ROM VERSION is: 5.1.195.14847 (with WM5 and English, Slovak and other languages ).
Please, could you send me or give me link to this version ROM?
Or if do you have this device with this rom, can backup your ROM and share it?
Had somebady similar or same problem and have successful solutions (Except BIG HAMMER )?

Guys... be smart and search the forum for C100 stuff and wen you see someone that explains something or posted some programs or whatever about this model, contact them personally on his page. Everybody has access to everyone here just search for it and it will pop out! None of us have born wise and we've learned along the way. So learn the site and you will find what you need! And i'm sorry to say but if you're waiting for someone to help you, you need to make you self visible by asking everybody around about you problems. So good luck guys!
