I've spent many a frustrated hour trying to find a way to use my Bluetake I-Phono bluetooth headphones without that damn dongle and at long last, I've found a solution!
"Simply" install the WM2003SE upgrade by toenailed/xda2jojo (which is pretty bloomin impressive, BTW) and then install the HP iPAQ Bluetooth Stereo Headphones Driver Update.
This adds a "High Quality Audio setup" option to the Broadcom bluetooth implementation within the WM2003SE upgrade. Not quite A2DP but pretty damn close. Fidelity, volume, bass are pretty good, particularly considering its a wireless connection, but there are occasional "pops" and "squeaks" to contend with. The connection is so sensitive that I'm having to maintain line-of-sight between my XDAII and the right-hand (BT connected) side of the headphones. I can move several yards away but only as long as I keep the LOS, otherwise the connection degrades significantly.
It's far from perfect but its not a bad compromise until someone cracks A2DP on the XDA (something which I would happily pay £50 to achieve, if any interested party is listening).
Cheers,
Ged.
Headset Update
I've been playing around with bluetooth headset settings and I can't make it work under either BT stack.
BLUETOOTH HEADSET
Hi there mate I have V3 BTHS I tried using broadcom plus the upgrade but its not working...not sure though if I configure it correctly ...When i checked the connection on the bluetooth MAnager/Active Connection it shows an Icon in the Outgoing Connection and it is connected but i dont hear any sounds on my bt headset. What could be the problem? BTW my BT works on the orig bluetooth progy but only on the calls not in music players and sound notification. Hope you can help me. Thanks
As I understand it, you can use a BT headset for calls or BT headphones for music, but not both. My headphones are supposed to work in headset mode but they don't... for the moment at least.
Sorry I can't help further mate.
I understand "High Quality Audio setup" is A2DP. There is nothing more to achieve.
Surur
Okay I have the Bluetake i-PHONO on order. Can someone please tell me if it's possible to use them as stereo headphones and a headset at the same time? When you add the Bluetake to your BT setup as high-quality audio, can you add it at the same time as a BT headset? Does it show up as two icons in the BT manager? The Bluetake is supposed to automatically switch between A2DP and headset/handsfree profile... What I want is to be listening to music using media player over A2DP, then hit the button on the Bluetake and pick up a call. Isn't this the way it's supposed to work?
BLUETOOTH HEADSET
oh ok now it makes sense hehe. thanks PinkySlayer. Iphono is bit expensive though its almost a price of a mini ipod...
Expensive they may be, MTX, but I HATE cables, and what's the point in carrying around an MP3 player when you already have one in the form of an XDA (albeit with a few 1GB SD cards in tow)!? I'm working towards a personal nirvana of "single music source, multiple outputs"; I have an FM transmitter wired up to my GPS enabled car cradle so both my WMA and TomTom audio come out of my car speakers; I have wireless Sennheiser headphones for the house and now and now I have wireless BT headphones for mobile use.
I didn't think that was the case, surur. It certainly isn't in practican terms in that the Bluetake phones work great with their own BT dongle (which truly supports A2DP) but with the "High Quality Audio setup", things arn't so rosy.
That's what the Bluetake phones are designed to do, trhuseby, but I think the only way to achieve that at the moment is to use the BT dongle for music playback and then connect your XDA direct to the phones in headset mode. I believe that the phones would then automatically swap from music playback to headset mode when a call comes in, but you have to use that bloody dongle.
The settings for "High Quality Audio setup" do allow the (de)selection of both audio and headset connections but alas, this does not make it work.
BT HEADPHONE
yeah i hear you Pinkyslayer...I really like to have a bt headphone i'm just looking for a cheaper headphone. i was thinking on buying a HP or Toshiba headphones

Hi, finally did you try the Bluetake? Did you found any solution or stereo headphones with headset working for you?
Thanks
Hi!
Yesterday I went through the upgrade of the official Dutch HTC Europe WM6 release. No problems there and WM6 works a charm.
The problem came to the light when I paired my Motorola HT820 A2DP headset. The music in the Windows Media Player plays well through A2DP, but only for a few seconds. After that it starts pausing every second. The same goes for all types of audio I play (video, TCPMP, etc).
Who can help? There was no problem using WM5 and a previous WM6 ROM (unofficial and WWE).
Thanks!!
Sounds like your sampling rates are off. Check this thread for info:

Search on Priority256_fix. That seems to be the final piece of the puzzle to fix the blue tooth problem.

Or search on Bluetooth Priority Fix.
Thanks for the tips.
Ofcourse there will be always another problem: my Motorola A2DP headset now fails to autoconnect (after being paired) to the X7500. Normally when I turn on the headset you will see a headphone/musictone icon in the top bar and hear the "connect sound" through the headset. This doesn't happen now. I need to soft reset first, and after that it will work again, for a few times.
Deleting the headset and pairing again works, but the autoconnecting stops working when I try again later.
Damn, what is it with the official WM6 and A2DP?

Hi, I still experience lags and pauses while using A2DP. With the registry tweak Priority256 it even gets a lot worse!!
Any more suggestions? I tried several headsets and even the Parrot Sound speaker set, but all of them are the same. So it's not the headset.
EDIT: I figured that it has something to do with the normal Bluetooth headset I use. I want to use the A2DP stereo headset simultaneously with the normal headset for phone calls. The A2DP headset only uses "Stereo audio" when connected, while the normal headset uses "Headset". This was no problem at all with all other devices I had and no problem as well on the X7500 running WM5. With WM6 things are different I guess.
A2DP WITHOUT the normal headset connected is no problem, like it should work. WITH the voice headset connected simultaneously, the lags come up, the prioriry fix makes no difference in this matter. And I'm stubborn, I want to have the voice headset to be connected at all times, the A2DP headset when I want to listen to music.
Any thoughts?
ok we all have our lovely toys and are all connected with cingulars awesome high speed internet. some of us are probly saving mins by using skype calls. well thats what i do any ways. i picked up a plantronics 855 stereo and mono bluetooth headset. in mono mode it also supports a2dp so it seemed like u can use it to do skype calls but turns out that a2dp doesnt turn on the mic, so ur dependent on the mic on the unit instead of the headset. does anyone know how to get a2dp and have the mic on too. skype calls are saving me a fortune but cant always have my ear up to my beautiful phone ((( people tend to stare at u when u got a umpc like device up to your ear)))

Yes, there is a problem with mic in stereo headsets. I have Jabra mono headset and another Jabra stereo one.
If I use my mono Jabra, I can use BT Audio to redirect all audio including mic to the headset. Unfortunatelly this does not work with my stereo Jabra (320s). If I try to use BT Audio while using Jabra 320s, something strange happens and the audio system gets crazy, it usualy does not transmit any audio or gets stucked completly. That is why, if I have my Jabra 320s on, I simply use it as audio in, and the standard mic in X7500 for my VoIP. It works well and prevents against the echo effect. The mic in X7500 is very good, so I can keep it in normall distance of about 50 cm from my face. I use Aget phone for my VoIP, but it works with SJPhone as well.
Edit:
I have made my Jabra 320s (stereo) to provide mic in VoIP. I have unclicked the "Wireless Stereo" option in Bluoetooth settings og the headset. After this BT Audio works well and does not create any problems.
Now the only issue I have is to find some software which could work like BT Audio but from command line. I use Aget phone which can be set to start any software with command line, just before and after the call. This could be easily used to send audio with mic to BL headset just before the call and then return it to standard settings after the call.
Any clues...?
I just experienced a bug. I got in mij car, enabled bluetooth and stared the enging. I could hear the touch cruise connect to the parrot bluetooth carkit (usually it beeps twice, now it beeped 4-5 times).
I fired up my TomTom, instructions were given over the speakers of my car stereo (via carkit)!! I did some testing with other audio files, all worked over speakers.
Quality wasn''t sufficient for audio, but e-books and podcasts sounded good enough.
After a few minutes of playing arround I received a call, after hanging up the call the usual way on the carkit shut down the possibility to hear audio over the car speakers.
Anybody know a way to force audio over the car speakers through the handsfree??
Try this tool:
it sends all the audio signals to the headset (or BT Carkit)
Would it be possible to switch bluetooth audio on just when there is a sound to play, cause it seems a little bit useless to hear nothing when my navigation has nothing to say..
Hi.
Im currently trying a Sony Ericsson HBH-DS200 bluetooth headset, it works fine but there is a small static noise.
Does anyone know a BT Headset with really good sound without static noise?
Edit:
This thread can be deleted, I found out that the headset i have is fine and the problem was with the Touch HD settings.
Just checking you've tweaked your BT settings? Use Advanced Configuration Tool to set BitPool: Very high, Max Bitpool: 80, Min Bitpool: 65 (these are just settings I've read elsewhere- may not be optimal, but certainly beats the default). Turn phone volume to max and adjust headset volume as necessary - do you still hear the static? I've got a Motorola S705 which sound fine once I've applied the tweaks.
Yes im playing with the settings right now.
I got the music sounding really good but i still have some static when calling.
I think all bt headset will have some static at some point, may have to wait for bluetooth V3 for static-less.
Meanwhile I bought some Sony bt25nx neckstrap from Japan (AudioCubes) and can say they are very nice build and sound quality with lots of bass and a super long battery life oh and complete control of WMP and HTC Manila "Full Screen Player". Anyway every second post in this thread is about bt headsets, you should have posted in one of them.
As for me, I have recently bought the Nokia BH-504 headset and it works great with my Touch HD, with a great sound
I recently bought a Nokia BH-103 and the sound quality is awsome! No noise or anything else, just pure sound. Here's the Link This is a stereo BT InEar headset with call recocnition and also has a good takl/standby time. All over all I'm happy with it.
I use Sony Ericsson's bluetooth, HBH-DS970, with A2DP. It's really nice.
