I have just managed to install the erman tmobile stock rom. Now after the first boot i am trying to calibrate the screen but it just does not work. No matter how often i try. I have tried a hard reset but this has not helped either. I didn#t have this problem with any other rom.
Is there a fix for this?
Thanks

hello, i got a phone that i bougth used on amazon and i dont know why the phone doesnt work properly the gyroscope when the phone is on a surface the screen go to landscape and when you put the phone in vertical it takes like 4 seconds to get the screen in vertical too? somebody knows the problem?
i got gingerbread 2.3.6
All depends on what you've got running on it. Really isn't a general answer to this question other than try a different kernel or rom, I've never run stock 2.3.6 on my sgs2. I can say however with stock 2.3.4 when I was running it I never had this problem. Have u tried recalibrating?
yes already did and make factory reset but nothing my friend got my phone im going to wait till sunday and try to change the room and see if works but calibration doesn help neither
FIX problem
well after 5 hours to trying i do this steps to fix the problem:
1) root the phone
2) backup of the phone with the clockwormod recovery
2) upgrade AOKP ICS room
3)on that room there is an option to save the calibrate so you click on that .... then calibrate
4) restore your backup and thats it perfect gyroscope
Hello, I dropped my SK17i and now the touchscreen is not working. I cannot even press the pattern and get into mobile etc. So I want to hard reset it to check if this will solve my problem. The phone is not rooted neither has any custom rom. Is there any option to hard reset with keyboard?
I think it's impossible because your problem is hardware, not software
Hello guys, firstly, I wanna say this issue I encountered is pretty anodyne, but anyway, I wanna solve it cause it's annoying.
So, I was using a S2 with CM10.2 installed and I wanted to replace it with the [ZERO]BUG ROM v5.0+Premium Suite to, basically, improve its battery life and other minor issues. So I executed an "unclean" install, cause I directly entered CWM and installed the ROM, without installing the stock 4.1.2 via Odin and then again root the phone and install CWM. So it went ok apparently, but everytime I try to lock the screen, it surely locks, but no lock screen appears when I turn it on. Plus, the phone shuts down when I keep the power button pressed 2 seconds, and no power menu appears on the screen before that.
I thought it was a bad "coordination" between the two ROMs, because of the unclean installation, so I installed stock 4.1.2 via Odin to keep in that ROM cause it's pretty good, but still no lock screen or power menu.
So I wanna know how to solve this, cause I'd like to sell the phone and it has to be perfect for that. I don't care to stay in stock, go for CM or another custom CM/stock-based, I just wanna solve it.
So thanks in advance to all of you who are trying to help me.
Galaxy S III 19300 has developed a problem where every time i try to use the phone i.e press power button and then swipe, the screen sleeps, Sometimes it sleeps after 10 seconds sometimes before i even swipe. Factory reset done, have now rooted it, but need to ascertain if it is a hardware failure or bug. I managed to set time out for the longest setting and obviously usb debug mode but wonder if its a power issue or gpu or driver issue etc.... please can anyone help?
Hopefully you're still on a stock rom.. Theres a ussd code to bring up a test app. You'll be able to test the proxy sensor etc from there.
If everything seems OK or if you have a custom rom then you'll have to download the firmware and odin on a pc and flash the phone back to stock. You'll need to flash the firmware, factory reset and flash again. That way you know there isn't any remnants left over from the last time it was used/flashed/rooted. This is the only way to find out if it's a hardware or software issue without all the faff.
Beyond not having the phone in my hand that is the only advice worth giving. If you keep chasing shadows you won't find the problem. Best to nip it in the bud.

Hi, thanks for your response. Yes i'm still on still on the stock rom and do not believe it was ever flashed/rooted. I will take your advice and try your suggestion. Where would i find the USSD code for the test app?
Dial *#0*# for the diagnostic screen.
