Shipped ROM Question plz - Touch Pro, Fuze ROM Development

I have a Vodafone branded HTC pro with the crappy red and white TFL3D
The ROM version is 1.90.161.5WWE
If I flash to another shipped ROM number:- 1.90.707.1 would this bring me to the HTC black and white TFL3D?
What other benefits would I experience? and are there any disadvantages?
If i needed to send it back ever under warranty, could I get back the original ROM?
NEED TO ASK:- Will Flashing my ROM clear all the apps, info etc from my phone?
Thanks for any heads up on the above

Flashing any OS rom will clear all your apps and settings - just like a hard reset (which you should do after flashing any rom)
btw flashing the radio only does not do that

Are you sure.. Just been reading Flashing a ROM doesn't clear data / settings.
Can someone confirm plz?

Stock Vodafone Splash Screen

Can someone remind me what the stock splash screen is for a UK Vodafone Touch Pro?
Need to send my device off for repair, and I can't remember what the original splash screen was....At the moment I've used the stock Touch Pro one.
Flashing back the original stock rom doesn't half make you appreciate how much more usable the device is thanks to custom ROMs!
if you flash a original vodafone UK rom you also have the vodafone splash screen and original radio .
ps do not forget to "unhardspl"
download link "http://rapidshare.com/files/147978863/vodafone.rar.html" of the vodafone UK rom.
Yeah, I have already flashed back to the original radio & rom - it did not change the splash screen, which was why I was thinking it might be the stock one, but I wanted to be 100% sure before I put the stock SPL back on.
Thanks
the German vodafone rom do that.
you can first flash a german rom and than the uk one

Update Orange Hero to latest Official ROM?

Hi Guys,
New to the Hero and Android - just a quick question, is it possible to flash the official HTC ROM 2.73.405.5 instead of the Orange specific ROM version - 2.73.61.5?
I tried flashing it but the update failed, do i need to do anything first? Coming from a Diamond Hardspl was required to flash - is there something similar required for the Hero?
Cheers
Paul
Nothing wrong with the Orange ROM. Nothing added to taken away.
Unless you want to go for a custom ROM, just stick with the Orange one.
Thanks - just concerned the official rom was a higher version number and i know it's supposed to have a lot of performance tweaks?
So is the Orange Rom the same as this one?
Yes its the same effectively.
2.73 is the version number you need to be worried about. The Orange firmware will be tweaked for the Orange network too.
Ah cool - thanks for the advice. I'll stick to the Orange rom then
Hero Thank you
SIM Unlock

O2 Stock ROM for Iolite/XDA Guide or backup?

I want to start flashing my Iolite, although before I will start I would like to know if there's any original shipped UK O2 ROM available, and if not is it possible (it is, I guess) and if so, how to fully back it up/dump it so I can revert to that later on? Thanks.

Root & Restore Questions Optus Branded Galaxy S2

Morning All.
Recently purchased a Galaxy S2, and love the phone. Upgraded from HTC Desire. and a couple of questions in regard to rooting as its a different process.
Is there a way to create a backup of the phone in its original state, so I can restore if necessary, eg ido something stupid and the phone falls flat?
Also, with the desire I used to install custom roms using Clockword mod, is the same available in the Galaxy S2?
Interested in rooting the handset to get rid of the optus crap, and install themes, boot animations, roms etc.
I saw this for rotting and would like to know success rate for this method, as its quite different to the desire.

Any help appreciated.
Cheers
Glen.
I have an optus SG2. First thing i did was root it to give super access. Then i flashed it with KE7 to debrand to get rid of the optus bloatware. I found a link somewhere to download the optus stock rom incase something happened. Also bought myself a USB jig to reset counter and to get rid of the triangle.
So far so good. Just playing around with themes (changed to blue), new camera and phone mods. I am thinking about going litepro but unsure if my titanium backup will be able to bring back some of the apps after the flash. Still waiting for an answer in one of the posts.

Hi Glen,
I just received SGS2 yesterday that I bought on eBay and this mobile should be (description says)Optus branded. But I cannot see any Optus software on it. There are only 2 extra aplications - navigation from Navigon and Good Food Guide 2011. So I think this phone has no Optus bloatwares at all.
What Optus applications/software can you see on your phone?
Thank you for your answer.

Any chance of posting the Optus stock rom ?!
im trying to restore to optus
if someone can please make a backup of their optus rom before flashing please post a link
i have one from a guy from whirlpool but its missing boot.img
so the restore just wont follow through
Same with Gtda, I need the stock rom, and the rom with Optus out atm doesnt have a boot.img, a new 'stock' rom would be sweet!!
Any one at all? Would using a boot.img file from another back up work even tho it won't display the optus boot picture

Having massive reception problems so I have had to flash back to the original Optus Rom from Litening Rom and am sending the handset back to get the thing checked out. I followed the following and everything is back to stock. I also used a reset jib to reset the counter.

[Q] How to learn what's my original stock rom?

I want to get back to my stock rom but checking *#1234# won't work for me because it brings the info from rom.
I bought my phone from a small phone shop abroad so I don't really know the origin of the phone.
Is there any other way to learn what is the origin of the phone and what stock rom would work for me?
I dont really understand the question but if you want to check the phone info so go to settings - about phone
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
You need to get the details of the phone off the box and from under the battery .
Then its guesswork unless you saved your original details .
Replacing firmware has wiped the original firmware details .

So does that mean I can flash any stock rom I want? When I checked the "guide to download and flash stock rom" there is a list of different stock roms(based on countries and/or gsm operators). and I know that different phones have different hw modules(camera etc). I wonder if any stock rom would be fine with any device out there?

I think that as long as you flash a Stock ROM with your contry code / region enabled, you shouldnt have any problems. For example, if you have an US phone, I wouldn't flash an indian Stock ROM in it...
