Hello,
I'm new in rom developement and I need your help for creat my own custom rom.
For creat my own rom, I need to remove some programs on my HTC but I don't know how. And I don't know If I just need to remove folder or if I must do something more.
I know programs are in OEM and SYS folder but I need you for know what folder I exactly need to delete for remove the folowing things
I want to remove :
- Introduction video on the first boot
- Customer Feedback
- Windows Update
- MP3 cuter (called in french "Découpeur MP3") = MP3 Trimmer ?
- Picture and movie (images et vidéo in french)
- Media in continue (media en continu in french)
- Windows live (messenger and every thing who have a link whith windows live)
- Windows media player
- Internet Share (partage internet in french)
- task (not task manager but the icon is a **** of paper with a tick on it, "taches" in french)
- Internet explorer
If you can help me for just one program it will be good, I think if 2 or more people help me I will be able to delete every thing
I hope my english is understandable. If you don't understand something or don't understand a program name, I will try a better translation.

Le probleme est que je ne sait absolument pas quel répertoire suprimer pour que cela marche, ni si je dois faire quelque chose de plus.

del the sample pictures from PACKAGE_Raphael_Album and movie from this folder. the rest of the photos, images and movie, u can do a search on the dump folder and delete them off.

I presume u are talking about sample music. they can be found in oemdriver which is under the OEM folder and also can be found in Samplemusic under the SYS folder
- Windows live (messenger and every thing who have a link whith windows live)
u can remove the windows live folders from the SYS folder. as for the links, u may have to check the .rgu files and see if they exist.
- Windows media player
- Internet Share (partage internet in french)

All folder name are refering to WWE ROM which may vary with other language ROM.

u r welcome but one more thing i forgot. in mxip_notify.vol, there is notification queue for ceipui.exe. use hex editor to remove that entries or u can dump my rom to get it

i am using ultraedit but couldn't seem to find that entry or rather i am not proficient in ultraedit
could u upload the file?
i'm using WinHEX but now @ office. My kitchen left at home

I removed all files and flash the rom everything was corect but the mobile stay stuck on the first install of touch pro interface (touchflo 3D) because it can't instal/load/? HTC Black.tsk (no error message)
Did I miss something ?
How did u know it can't install HTC Black.tsk when no error msg?
Did u modified the tsk file?
no I don't modified .tsk files (I don't touch if I don't know what I touch), but it stay stuck during more than 10mn.
When I Flash an other rom I don't have that problem.

I did a hard reset after the flash but I don't think it's that.
did u edit initflashfiles.dat or any config*.txt ?
no, I just remove the file that you can see in the screenshot but I didn't change mxip_notify.vol cause I think I will must do it later directly on the phon (maybe it's wrong.)
OK, I can see a big problem here. Dont delete webview.dll in BROWSING folder. It is a important file needed by OS actually. And u cant change/modify mxip_notify.vol after device boot. It will be locked completely. Hope this helps.
Ok, rly thx for that tips. I will cook a new rom with webview.dll but can I delete the other thing in the folder or I must keep everything ?
It is more on troubleshooting & experimental. I recommend u not to remove PIE first. See if ur device can boot & running normally then only think about to remove any package. I never test remove the whole browsing folder but webview.dll is really needed AFAIK.
ok, I will try with PIE, if it work, I will remove everything but just keep webview.dll because I'm here for learn and If it don't work I will just lost my time and that's not a problem.
I'm realy impressed by your knowlege in rom developement. Did you learn every thing by experimentation or ?

Edit : Don't work with just webview.dll so now let's try with everything in BROWSING (Yes I did in the wrong way °° but I'm too curious °°)

Yes, you must active it. If you use a HTC Touch, you'll realize that TouchFlo (i think you mean the 3D Cube) only works when you press the HTC Logo (it's something like a button) !

I really love PdaViet ROMs, so can't wait for this new one. The last one I tried was 4.0.0.4 with touch apps and I was happy with it except from some crucial (for me) quirks.
Now, I leave you a question:
Are the common WM6 problems fixed on this rom?
- Missing wifi settings
- Missing bt settings
- Corrupt mail accounts
- Wifi not tuning on all tries
This bugs are what is keeping me from staying with wm6. WM5 does not have any of this bugs, but... well, it sucks.

well, I don't know about 4.0.0.0.6 but in 4.0.0.0.5a Cross, Wifi gets turned on all the time (no exception). and as long as you soft reset your device using the ShutXP , you will never loss anything ! (I mean nothing!)

This problem was present on every WM6 ROM I tried. But WM5 works great. I can softreset the phone without any problem.
People say that it has to do with optimizations (cache) made by rom cookers.
Maybe someone could make a ROM without that kind of speed optimizations, but optimized for reliability.

Some people wrote this before, but I can't replicated this. When I shut down first, you know just with the on/off button, and answer the ""...Do you want to continue?" question with YES, then things are stable. I use my mail and sms all the time, I soft-reset so now and then. But nothing disappears... strange. This tells me that it is not only a WM6 problem. Perhaps a combination with other software?

Does HTC home plugin have 6 icons with the names of the contact, the multi-media reader, and the profiles of ringing like the ROM fantastic b4?
No other Software ... its a Registry Hive Setting to speed up! The full Registry is in the most WM6 Roms stored in the Ram. If you softreset it ... it isnt flushed (writen to the DOC). Only Clean Shut Down flush the Registry back to DOC.

Slt ca fonctionne deja avec la version 4.0.0.0.5a donc je suppose que ca devrai fonctionne avec la 6 ;-) enfin j'espere car sinon jré degouté de plus pouvoir utiliser mes ecouteurs bluetooth lol En attandant t'as la version V4 de gullum qui possede le touch flo mais jla trouve pas tres stable et il y a des probleme avec l'utilisation de la battery le Telephone ne dure plus que 1 jours environ et puis le A2DP fonctionne pas du tout enfin j'ai pas reussi ... voila
Autant attendre sagement cette rom qu'a l'ere vraiment bien vu que j'ai la version 4.0.0.0.5a et elle fonctionne super bien ;-)

- Where are my notes ? Touchnotes seems fine, but I can not loose my previous notes. Any possibility to have the note program back or the Touchnotes to handle the previous ones ?
- When in a call, the "Clavier" is not written, even if it work when you know where it is
- After a call, there is a "Rediall" missing translation

- Can not use the task manager. Any idea ?

It seems stable and no batterie drain
But I've a little trouble with pocket outlook :
I use push mail and it work, but when Outlook is open, i can see all headers but i can't open any message, only in mail mode, in sms mode, i can "clic" and it open the message.
I will try to install an another mail program ...

Q: After enabling operator tab, the tab shows up but is blank?
A: Check your M2D version, it have to be at least version 20. If your M2D came with your rom, you can try this cab. It updates only 3 files of M2D. Don't use if your M2D is not on the rom. Before installing you must close Manila2D. There might be complications but it worked for me on ONYX ULTIMATE 4.4.3 ROM.
Q: After installing digital clock mod operator tab doesn't show any items. How to fix this?
A: Use this digital clock cab instead
Q: Can show other today plugins on the operator tab?
A: No, you have to understand nature this program. It doesn't not install any "plugins" to m2d, it only uses m2d feature that allows to operators to make their own custom tab and allow to users customize that tab. Tab contains shortcuts which are either in grid or listview mode. ( even in my calendar mod, the appointments are shortcuts ) That's all it does.

I don't know where "operator" text is assigned, my guess is that it's somewhere in M2D language files.. it would essential to get it changed. tab icon can be changed by modifying m2d image files in \\windows folder..
Operator tab is same kind of launcher tab that the real launcher tab, so layout is assigned in HTCHomeSettings.xml.

The list is empty when i launch the program and i cannot select anything when i press the start menu or custom.
Can you explain better? From which list to select before.

do you have M2D in the rom or have you installed it later?
it need HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila2D\Operator reg key, and 18 sub keys named as 0-18 :

I have installed it afterwards and have no registry for operator, do u have a can to fix it or just manually type it in ?

I've kitchen another rom with windows mobile 6.5 and the build is 21159.
it's a test.
Unfortunately the system isn't very quick.
I've deleted Manila2D.
I've added IE8 for a request, but it's very slow.
4 versions are disponible: with htc driver or with omnia driver.
both versions are in 6mb and 18mb of pagepool.
With 18mb of pagepool you less ram but system is more reactive
I've fixed problem with Volume control.

it's more finger-friendly and it's very fast...but without any today-plugin (in this build)
I did test it and all seemed fine, but I was beta-testing another rom at the moment, so I didnt test this one much...
The main thing I saw was bigger buttons on the pop-up dialogs (really big) like in the explorer, but on Resco explorer, the sizes remained the same... so it should probalbly only be good for system messages.
also, the "working" pizza animation was huge, as if it was for VGA.
Everywhere I could scroll, the drag motion with the finger worked quite well.
The dialer screen didnt appear for me, but I had an old radio, so that could be why.
Other than that it felt pretty much like WM6.1.

this build is only an alpha version...so much alpha!!!
I have heard that new chinese rom for blueangel (wm6.5) already have transparency bars, can you port it?

i know for the dialer. in my archive i've put in 2 dialer
unfortunately I gave the phone to my brother, so I have little time. but when it comes out a new build I hope to be able to work to a new version

i know
i've tried to clean anymore but system is slow
and without pagepool system is slower and has less free ram !
i think that the problems are htc driver and the beta build....
i hope that in the next build the speed is increased

also gdiplus.dll in shell use from better sys will help allot
Also try using old oemdrivers not from new jade builds. slim down oem and will be speedier.

Flashing through SD
As you already noticed I renamed my nbh files into nikeimg.nbh instead of RUU_signed.nbh
The reason I did this is because you can now flash it through sd-card and flashing through sd-card is a saver way to flash your phone, I already did more then 100 flashes through sd-card without getting back to the original rom.
How does it work.
1. Copy the file nikeimg.nbh in the root of your sd-card.
2. Turn your device off.
3. Press camera-button and power-button on the same time, in your device you'll see "Loading.." followed by "NIKEIMG.NBH - SPLASH1 - SPLASH2 - OS -" and the message "Press power button to start update image"
4. Press powerbutton, in your device you'll see "Update in progress" after finishing, you'll see "Update Complete UPDATE SUCCESS"
5. Now do a softreset by putting the styluspen in the little hole next to the usb connection.
6. Now you're phone will do the flashing and you're done.

On both version when you go to the menu "Programs" where you can add shortcuts to programs it open a list of installed programs, to scrool down or up we must use the touch, the middle button doest make movement (up or down), is it normal or it can be improved?

That's just because this software isn't made for our device, not sure if I can get it chanced but for now I'm rebuilding my kitchen just screwed it, when I tried to make a Polish rom.
Hope to fix my kitchen today and see what I can do with the scroll movement in Manila.

This one is better for your battery, I have an old battery, it's 3 years old and I'm using it also for cooking and with this rom I can use my battery for aprox. 3 days when I have to recharge it, with my Twins rom I can use my battery almost 2 days then I have to recharge it, be aware that the place where I work has a bad signal so the most of the time my device is searching for a signal.
Personnaly I don't think there is any difference between the touch sensibility/phone movement.

No, sorry this rom is not for videocalls, I made a few testbuilds but I'm not happy about the respons of the dialer, especially the losing of typing numbers frustrate's me.
I am working on a testbuild for a rom with 3G if I have fineshed that one I send you the link so you can test that one for me.

Hello everyone I have done for the first time I installed the hard spl version 1.22 then i installed this rom and it works fine.
Then I was going to install the radio (after I saw that I had to first install the radio) but now it gives me error when I start the file 1.65.30.12.exe .... me "connection error"
but is connected with active sync ...
You know what could be the problem?
recommended another radio version?

Ciao a tutti io ho fatto per la prima volta l'hard spl ho installato la versione 1.22 poi ho installato questa rom e fin qui tutto bene.
Poi stavo per installare la radio (ho visto dopo che dovevo installare prima la radio) ma adesso mi da errore quando avvio il file 1.65.30.12.exe....mi da "errore di connessione"
ma è collegato ad active sync...
Sapete quale può essere il problema?
mi consigliate un altra radio?

Hi, buddy also noticed you have the same problem with the rom from salvy.c.83 so it must be something you are doing wrong, if you want to change your radio and it's not working, you can always flash an original rom first and then flash a cooked rom, all the original roms have a radio in the flash and the cooked versions don't.
HERE is the rom with radio 1.65.30.12, flash this one first and then a cooked version.

Hi Suondarden, no the video can't be done in anyway, I will make one in a few days but that one will only be in English, all the 3G dialers I tried had the same problem so that's the reason I didn't use them but a few days ago d_train shared his videodialer with me so I'm gonna use his dialer.
It's hard to use our devices as a mass storage, I know d_train was working on that but I don't thonk he already finished it and I believe that sundream made a rom with mass storage in it.
