Need a good radio rom for Atlanta GA - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam Software Upgradin

Hi all,
I am currently using Shamanix_WM6_Ultimate_v2_FINAL with radio rom version 1.5407.00 and I am looking for a better radio. The data speed (even over 3G) is not that great and the reception at my house is literally 1 bar. I was wondering if anyone out there that lives in the Atlanta, GA area is using a different radio rom version that gets better results than mine. I'm on the AT&T network.
Thanks in advance!

I also live outside Atlanta and I find the closer I get to home the more often my calls drop. I am running the same radio version and I too would like to know if there is a better radio version for the Atlanta area. I am on AT&T as well.

You guys should try several Radio and see which one proves to be the most compatible with your operator there in Atlanta.
Remember, flashing the radio stack will not cause a hard reset. So it does not hurt trying.

I visit the Atlanta area regularly and have exceptionally good speed and battery life with 1.54.30.10

i have been running into the same problems here in Houston since the Hurricance Ike and running the same version ya'll are. I am about to try 1.56.70.11. I will post my results later.

Thanks Zachoo! This radio rom is perfect!! I have been flashing radio stack after radio stack to try and find the best reception and battery life. I get much better reception, data transfers are quicker, and my battery life has increased by almost 30 percent!

Best Radio rom for Tmobile UK?

Hi all
Perhaps we can share info re the above. Currently I am running the AKU3.3 test rom and radio 1.27.
It is by far the best combination I have used so far for Tmobile Uk. The battery life is far better than the original HTC rom and the signal aquisition seems much stronger. My only concern is that there seems to be a reluctance to switch from GPRS to either UMTS or HSDPA when on the move, my previous 1.18 rom although apparently less good at pulling in the signal would certainly be showing U or H more quickly when in an area of coverage. Has anyone tried the later 1.33 or 1.34 roms and found them any better?
Otherwise, this for me has my Tytn working superbly and doing everything I want. Heck, even TT6 works without freezing!

Ps This forum seems to be getting very slow, could it be all the downloading thats going on before the big switch off?

I'm in FolsomI use 1.48 on vp3G 3.6 rom. Ditto.
Was in middtown Sacramento last night (Starbucks on Alhambra). Using 1.54.07.00 radio, vp3G 3.62.0 ROM, about 8PM PST.
Connection showed 3G initially in Starbucks, and would switch to H as I browsed Ebay mobile. The connection was very fast - before I started browsing I ran a D/L test on DSL reports and chalked 760kbps on a 1MB file. I browsed with no problems for about 20-30 mins, but then lost the 3G/H signal. The phone searched for about five seconds, then connected as Edge. I'd use Edge data connection for a few minutes, then phone cycled to 3G/H for a few seconds, then lost 3G/H signal all over again. This happened about 7-10 times in a row. Overall I didn't experience a great deal of downtime - the phone found the Edge signal quite fast after losing 3G/H, but it was annoying.
Eventually I went outside and tried again from my car, parked across the street from Starbucks. Same pattern.
Because I was using 3G/H with no issues for about half an hour I'm inclined to chalk this up as a problem with the local tower, but am curious to hear if anyone else has encountered 3G/H connectivity issues in the Sacramento area with these versions of ROM and Radio.

Update from 1.51: So far signal strength and voice clarity seem to be a tad better. Out of a total of 14 calls, I did miss one of them for some reason. I'll test data speeds and other parts of my City and report later.
Can anyone out there let us know who are unable to update right now how this new rom works??? I wont be able to update until tonight or maybe tomorrow!
Just flashed from 1.51.00.10
Tested both for signal strenght with DHR Bandswitch and Tytn unmoved to the same point.

Where are you located?
Just flashed from 1.51.00.10. Clear voice - fast data. Battery life YTBD.
So far this is the best radio for this area.
Just upgraded to:
HERM_Radinly_1.54.00.10_108_CustomRUU
From:
HERM_Radinly_1.47.30.10_CustomRUU
It's a hell of a lot better.. at least the data connection was. Handshaking (Data connection response for every data request) was a lot faster. Still yet to find out about battery life performance and voice calls. I'm in Manila, Philippines.. SMART Communications.
Thanks caxio for uploading.

Whats the best radio for Rogers/Fido??

Hello,
I would like to know what is the best Radio for Fido/Rogers in terms of battery life and HSDPA speeds!
Thanks
Hi, I'm currently running 1.54.00.108.
Battery life is good but don't know HSPDA speed.
I'm using the same version as rupture: 1.54.00.10
thx...
I too would like this information, so as to update my rom/radio..
much obliged,
a.
I got too many missed calls with 1.54.00.108.
I am now using 1.54.00.10 on Rogers Wireless without any hiccups in Toronto!
1.48
I went back to 1.48 from 1.54.07.00
Battery life was just too brutal.
What's the point of having HSDPA if you only get a few hours per charge?
Happy again now.
I am using 1.43. I was using 1.50 I believe, battery life = not as good as 1.43.
Don't know about HSPDA speeds as I don't use it, because well i I think it is obvious because I live in Canada.
1.43 has been great in terms of voice quality and battery life
Radio & Rom
I use 1.54.07.00, but I found that if I don't use it with ROM 3.62, the battery life is very bad. The combination of 1.54.07.00 and Pandora 9.5/3.62 seems to yield the best results for me. I get almost a full day with heavy use and that's with HSDPA turned on.
Hope this helps!

[Q] Reliable Radio for O2 in the UK?

All,
I have done a lot of flashing ROMs and Radios since I had my (unbranded) HD2 and I have been getting several issues where I miss calls (goes straight to voicemail) even when I am not using the phone.
I am using radio 2.10.50.26 but have also tried several others.
Can anybody who is on the O2 network in the UK recommend a reliable radio I can try?
Also does anybody know what radio the branded O2 HD2 uses as this might be worth trying too?
Thanks in advance
Alright mate.
I'm on O2 as well, and I've got 2.12.50.02_2, and it's pretty good for me. Can't help you with the original radio though as I've had the phone for nearly a year now and have been banging new ROMs/Radios on it for as long as they've been available (the original stock ROMs - pre 1.66 - we're dire!)
Incidentally, this is an "Android friendly" radio too - no robot voice or echo.
Hope this helps.
I have a 2.10.50 radio and I can't complain. It's pretty damn good actually.
I've been using 2.12.50.02_2 for a while now - and it's been ok. I've just upgraded to 2.14.50.04 and I think that this might be the best yet.
I had 2.12.50 and to be honest i thought it was terrible in terms of connection and battery life. I think the radio is heavily dependent on the amount of base stations in your area.
2.14.50 works well for me now and previously 2.07.50 was good too.
The stock radio that came on my phone was either 2.6.51.xx or 2.7.51.xx and the rom i had was a 1.66 version. I've used all the radios that have been made available since i got my phone in may and for me, in my area, the best ones where 2.10.50.26, 2.11.50.20, 2.12.50.2_2 and 2.14.50.04. Each time they improved the signal strength and extened the battery life a little but do remember that the best radio for you may very possibly be different dependant on your area. For example, if you have full signal all the time no matter where you are and the battery life is already pretty good there's no point in changing but if you struggle to get a decent hsdpa signal and your phone is always switching between edge and 3g then you may want to try a newer radio.
Ther are so many variables involved in this topic it is impossible to take a recommendation unless it is given to you by someone that lives or works in or around where you are most or you experiment a little.
