[Q] Stock Camera vs. ROMs'

Does using a custom ROM affect the quality of the camera?
I'm currently using Wolf's V6 ROM and it might be just me, but I feel I'm not getting the best out of my camera. Specially when concerning video recording.
Here's an untouched video I recorded for those who want to check it:
http://www.mediafire.com/?x4ohb2m043762fs
Yeah, I know 116.88MB is too much for a sample, but that was the only video I had that I knew for sure that had been recorded already in Wolf's ROM. Sorry for that.
I'm I just being paranoid about it's quality?
Bump..................
I'm pretty sure that different roms give you slightly different qualities for the camera.
Can someone tell which ROM offers the best quality?

I couldn't be entirely sure but I am extremely curious about the answers..
From my understanding, I have to agree with ionutraducu. A slight modification only.

[Q] Roms and Camera Apps

Hey Guys!
I've tried my best searching the web and xda before making this thread but I really want some opinions here. I've been switching between MIUI and Simple&Clean. I've read stock TW Cam is better quality than MIUI and I felt that too when I was using MIUI.
Funny thing is though, the camera hardware remains the same doesn't it?
So my big question is, if I run MIUI (which supposedly has bad camera quality) and download a good camera app, say ZOOM FX, it should technically work as well as a stock rom's TW camera right? (since it's the same hardware)
Sorry if I'm confusing but I really find this problem weird!

MIUI still doesn't implement good drivers for correct video playback! hence, video stutters...normally 1080p video stutter...! and MIUI camera is also good!
You do mean the still Photo camera and not video right?
I see, but is it the same reason for camera photo quality? That the drivers aren't implemented properly too?
So if the drivers for the camera isn't as good, technically if I'm on MIUI Rom and install Camera Zoom Fx, the quality would still be bad right?

People, I also, go for 3rd party camera apps, they do work good!
Like lgcamera...but i don't really compare the miui camera with stock one! i suffer from placebos
Damn haha, you're exactly like me, I buy a third party app or get influenced by MIUI's camera and think it's not that bad.
Hopefully others can give a more accurate opinion

[Q] 1080p video on antp121's "le n00b" ROM?

Hi all.
I can't post in the dev thread because I'm too new. So hopefully someone with an answer will see this. I'm running antp121's "le noob" CM9. The video res on the stock camera only allows up to 720p. I know the stock Sense camera is capable of 1080, and the official CM9 on my Gnex had 1080 video. Is this a bug? Or some other limiting factor?
I appreciate any insight. Cheers.

not a bug. just a feature that hasn't been worked on among many others like TV out.find another rom that's sense based if you want everything functional
Ah-ha. I half-suspected as much, knowing that it's still unofficial and all. Thanks for the confirmation.
Cheers.

Fisheye Camera

Hi guys,
I was wondering if anyone knows of a decent fisheye camera available for my Wildfire. I've spent a lot of time browsing the market and all the ones I've found haven't satisfied me..
What would be ideal (but I don't even know if it's possible) would be to modify the standard CM 7.2 camera that I currently use to include a fisheye option.
I could be asking for the impossible, but if you could help that would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Francis.

Do these work?
Thanks for your input, but these were the two I was most unimpressed by..

How about this and this then?
The latter has a range of effects, fisheye is one of them I think.
But these are only effects, to have a real fish-eye type camera I think you'd have to have a special type of lens which allows for this type of photography.

Xperia or Motorola Style Camera APP in Honor 7

Hi,
Since xperia m5, and motorola style have the same senson IMX230 from sony... Would it be possible to use their camera app in our phones?? (asuming someone is able to extract that app from their roms)
Waiting for your opinions!
Regards
The problem I think, is that th Honor 7 doesn't have the Camera2 API support. Which would allow to unlock the true potential of this sensor
I asked Honor support but got no answers.
Thank you so much for your feedback.
Even so many people talks greatly about the camera, I cant get what is in my opinion a goood quality pictures. As you said the sensor looks pretty good, but the software implementation is not at the same level.
I hope some developers helps us with our device, for instance I would like to change to a chinese rom keeping the baseband, but I am affraid how to make it.
Regards,
As far as the Camera app is concerned, it can be ported, but not sure if it will throw out any high quality images, as it all depends on the camera driver compiled from source.

You can install another camera app from Google play but the stock option seems pretty good to me. Also I'm getting very good pictures from my H7. Compared to my previous Xperia Z1 the H7 is much better.

Using RAW format? You can really tell the difference in quality!
