i have a question.
my htc nike while flashing the rom lost his imei... i dunno why and how, but if i check with *#06# i get XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX00....
the phone work great... but it can't sincronize the network and get the operator signal...
i cant use it for phone and sms..
i must repair the imei!!!
i tried Iwizard, it can recognize the phone but it read a wrong imei and if i write the original one it won't change!
what i have to do for make iwizard work well??
i'm a lot nervous, help me or my htc fly out the windows at the 8th floor...
and sorry 4 my bad english.

Try to change IMEI, there is one topic about it....

First you need to flash spec. version of radio.
next step is change IMEI by TTY client. But you need to know IMEI address in memory.
I don't know it. Try PM to NetrunnerAT or other well-known guy

hi... i've read almost all of the previous posts on how to downgrade afrom 1.06-1.04 but it just doesn't work on my phone... i got mine as a gift and received only the unit...(celphone)... nothing more nothing lesss.... what's worst is it's all in japanese cause the one who gave it to me bought it in japan... after running M3100v4unlock, i solved one of my problems... my question now is, is tere a program where i can translate or maybe convert my phone to english characters never mind if i can't downgrade my bootloader...also, how will i be able to use my local sim/network provider..
hope someone can help me... i'm really new at this so please bear with me.... thank you..

Does anybody know if there is a way to update the IMEI of a TyTN (Hermes 200)? Please post or PM me if you know of a way.
Do the standard tools pdocread and pdocwrite work on a TyTN?
Is any kind of CID unlocking necessary before pdocread/pdocwrite can be invoked on a TyTN?

No legal solutions so you probably won't get any advice on messing with IMEI's here

Why would you want to update the IMEI of the phone, only reason I can think of is if ya jacked it from someone and don't want it traced back to you...
What I dont understand is .. why would you even WANT to change the IMEI? Unless you have a phone you know is stolen.. or something like that... what gains do you get out of it?

The reason is
I want to change my IMEI to the same as my last phone as I have just upgraded and have some SW which I payed good money for which use the IMEI for the reg file and I do not want to pay again, so if I just change the IMEI to what it was in my last phone they should work fine.
1. Changing IMEI is illegal in every country that actaully has laws on the books.
2. Most WM Developers understand the whole changing devices thing and will actually issue you an new key if you take the time to contact them and explain that you have upgraded your phone because the old one either lacks an new feature you need or (even better) was broken and replaced with the newer device.
As to why else someone would want to change IMEI, there is the whole issue with buying phones from other countries and wanting to use them in a country that requires you prove the purchase but will charge you import taxes on the purchase.

i read in the below thread regarding IMIE no getting changed being an offense but i also read in the same thread that its ok that the last 2 digits get added as this denotes the software version im sure all phones which flash cooked roms will have this change u can chek by dialing *#06# on ur phone also chek the below link

I have a problem with my hermes, i'm trying to change imei, but no luck.
What i have done:
1. Unlocked cid, i got a message its done so i hope it is, done with awizard.
2. Installed activesync 4.2, and i have connection
3. Trying to run iwizard_979, and here i got stuck
Tried almost everything, my rom version is 1.56.409.4 and radioversion 1.27.12.32 do i need to downgrade ROM?
If so, what version and where do i find it, and at last , how do i do that?
Mate, I don't think you'll find any help here.... Changing IMEI's is illegal in most countries.
Lets keep the legal discussion out from this thread, after searching about changing imei here in Norway, i found out that it's legal here.
But if it makes it easier, just help me with downgrading my rom and dont think of the rest.

Not my foult that imeichange is legal here, but if you use it to unlock stolen phones and criminal activity its not legal.

Ive looked for other thread but none of these seemt to work for me, during flashing my efs got damaged and my imei changed to 0049.... And Samsung is refusing to repair it here in Belgium. Could someone please help me because i dont have network for the moment.

I have no answer to your problem, but i want to ask what really happened? Was it after an update? Did you delete any system apps?
A friend experienced this exact problem here in Greece today and sent it for service, but why did Samsung refuse to repair it? Did you send it rooted?
I would like to know so I can inform my buddy.

General > sticky roll-up up > imei / efs - know this stuff.
If you're at "send for repair" step, pay a mobile phone repair shop 25 euros to fix it.

ok... i had that... search all the forums and none of the brains has no solution for it. so went to service that wrote my imei into phone via the box. charged me 4euros(SERBIA) and it was working. i made efs backup. flashed another rom and get serial number 00000000000... then ariza patch and its working again. i am selling my phone as of now.
Either replace your motherboard or use the Box to fix your problem
