Hermes / TyTn - No back light - LCD Problem? - HELP! - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam Software Upgradin

Friends,
I have a T-Mobile Vario-2 (Hermes or TyTn).
Everything works absolutely fine, except the back light of the LCD. I thought it is the problem of LCD, but T-Mobile says the Mother board is defect!
And it will cost 150 EURO! I already paid 25 EURO to findout where is the problem!
Howcome the phone can work absolutely flawless, except the back light, if the mother board is defect?
I need your sincere advice and a cheapest solution.
I loved my TyTn all these days and not interested to give up just because of back light. Badly looking for a affordable solution.
Thanks,
-Ari

I had the same problem and found it was the flywheel circuit board. I replaced this by buying a "broken" Hermes off ebay for $125Aud. It was good as I now have spare parts if something else goes wrong. Also found there was no problem with the Hermes I got.
Cheers...

Help with replacement screen + mint condition screen for sale if not fixable

I need some advice, I've tried replacing my screen and now it doesn't even light up, let alone display anything...
At the start of the summer I was messing around with a boomerang and believe it or not it smashed at great speed into my v1605 Hermes. Even though I had it in its case, the screen had some cracks and some parts not showing anything. I carried on using it like that for a while and started looking for a replacement screen. I found and bought one on Ebay.
Screen replacement, 1st attempt
The first screen that I received showed only a white screen when booted up. I tried fitting it many times with the same result and when I put my cracked screen back in it still worked, so I presumed it was a faulty screen and sent it back.
Second screen
After some dialogue with the company I bought the screen from, I was sure that the second screen would work, but when I fitted it I got nothing, it didn't even light up... just to check, I put in my old screen and got the same... it doesn't light up or display anything even though my Hermes boots as normal.
Help!
Is there anyone who can suggest what might be wrong and what I can do to fix it? Please?
Screen for sale
It may be that I've completely messed my Hermes up, in which case I now have a mint condition replacement screen, pm me any offers, although I won't be selling until I'm sure I can't fix this problem.
Hi , sorry i cannot help you in this thing but how much is your screen for sale?
The screen cost me fifty euros. I'd sell it on for the same price if I can't fix it... plus postage at cost.
Can't anyone help with this please???

Power Button damaged

Hi Guys, I recently bought a new Device (XDA Atom) because the Power Button on my Blue Angel seems to be broken.
Now that I got to feel the shortcomings of the Atom, I'd like to reanimate my Blue Angel (it wasn't really dead, it has just been sitting in it's cradle, serving as a Weather Panel on my Desk) because it has more RAM than the Atom (128MB's compared to the puny 64MB's of the Atom) and a Hardware Keyboard.
My Question is now: Where can I find a replacement for the Power Button (preferably in Germany) or a Shop that could replace it ?
in general, i can recommend http://pdareparatur.de/index_.html , they are competent, yet very expensive. if you want it done professionally, they would be the first to address. for doing it yourself, you can always look it up in the service manual: http://www.4pda-service.ru/netcat_f.../BLUE ANGEL/HTC_Blue_Angel_Service_manual.pdf
alternatively, look it up on ebay, and i am not talking about the spare part itself, i say buy a whole new device, prices vary pretty much and buy-it-now mostly offers it for 100eur, but find a private seller and you might just get it for 30eur+pp. i always wanted to get myself a spare device and watched a few auctions there and sometimes you are really lucky and get it pretty cheap, which would make the entire process of repairing the old one unnecessary and most of all, overpriced. here is a sample ebay search, for a quick look over prices: http://handy.shop.ebay.de/items/Ohn...fone%20%2F%20VPA|!&Modell=MDA%20III|XDA%20III
thanks, but I already found the first site you mentioned... I guess i'll have to make due with the XDA Atom for the rest of the year until I can afford either and HTC Magic or the new HTC Hero.
I thought it would be cheaper to get my device fixed, given its age...
i thought so once, too. but it is especially the age, that makes a replacement unit off ebay much cheaper than a single spare part. and the price of the repair service does not depend on the age or value of the device, but the time it takes, to fix it, of course. i suggest you have a look inside of the device, the power button is rater easily accessible and can be fixed
oh well... i'd rather not open up the Device myself... I think I should sell it to someone who can use it as a means to repair other damaged Devices or who has enough knowledge to repair it.

New screen hangs

Hi, I'm Martin from Germany
That's the story:
I've (already ) broke the display of my HTC Mozart after 2 months of usage ordered a new one at mobile-phone-lcd.com. The replacement itself took me about two hours, where the longest part was the removal of the "old" glue which is used to keep the screen in its housing.
But now the reaction of the screen is very bad It's 1. the typical "lockscreen problem" but 2. the menu often scrolls "up" when i push the screen down. And I'm unable to write messages because I can't touch some letters.
But I have to note that starting from the point when i broke my old screen, the phone "already" had the "lockscreen problem" and a few letters were not touchable.
With the new screen the "touchability" is worse than with the broken screen.
I already flashed it with RUU_Mozart_HTC_Europe_1.30.401.01_5.54.09.21_22.33b.50 but nothing changed. I just wrote an email to the seller but somehow I can't believe that's a harware-related problem. I already tried to run it with different positions of the cable in the plug... no success
Maybe anyone of you has similar experiences or any ideas how to fix it. Tomorrow I'll try to flash it with another ROM.
Cheers
Martin
It really seems an issue with the new screen, a bad device or both...
I don't think you can repair it playing with the ROM...
Thanks.
Let's see what the supplier says...
first of all you info was not clear, when you mention screen, is' it the LCD or the digitizer, it's two different pieces, it seems like the problem is the digitizer.
You're right, the problem is the digitizer.
The support-team already answered and needs a more detailed description. (I wrote a very short email) The guy answered that I should try a touch screen calibration! I've already searched for a way to calibrate the touch screen/digitizer, but I wasn't successful. Does anyone of you knows how to?
In parallel I'm bidding on a HTC Mozart on eBay which is water damaged so I can try another digitizer. (hope the digitizer is still working...)
how much is it going to cost, i've seen oem digitizer in china go for around USD 30.
also no touch calibration will do any good, the digitizer has some dead section, from your description.
Mine was 38 USD without shipping costs
Currently the damaged WP7 is @ 30 USD....
You're right. Where have you seen the digitizer? Could you provide the link to me?

Nokia Lumia 820 Digitiser

Hi
I have been searching the Internet for this answer to no avail
Well, I've changed a cracked digitiser that was totally cracked and dead, I've put the new one on, however the soft keys don't work.
Now this is the question, I'm trying to figure out whether the new digitiser is faulty. I don't know what controls the 3 soft keys, its either the digitiser or are there 3 sensors on the frame.
I wonder if someone can answer this for me. If the 3 soft keys are controlled by the digitiser, then I know this is faulty.
Please help.
Thanks
Not that it helps you much, but I've got exactly the same issue with a screen bought last week.

Broken display

Hello,
Yesterday my phone felt on the floor and the screen broke in 1000 pieces. I am not afraid of replacing the display on my own, but I don't want to replace it with non-original displays. Online there are a lot of different prices and solutions.
Could someone please tell me where to buy the original screen replacement. Touchscreen is still working.
I live in Belgium, near Hasselt. If somebody from Belgium knows a shop, where it can be repaired with original displays, that would also be nice.?
