Better than gsensor, enable/disable rotation, define rotation angle (to avoid upside down) choose programs to rotate and the ANGLES for each one...

Needs Sogarth or Michy's latest rom with gsensor service enabled, FAST, really fast!
pretty cool. it works, using michi's latest. on my device seems to be pretty slow, maybe I've got too detailed of a background image or something

Anyone try the new applications people are making after figuring out the Diamonds tilt sensor?
I dunno if it matters but I was in 192 DPI and I am using sogarth's rom.
Sensor Test.exe - seems to work okay in landscape mode. (http://scottandmichelle.net/scott/cestuff/sensortest.zip)
Lunar orbit - Can't figure this one personally. (http://www.pocketmax.net/smf/index.php?topic=6380)
GSen - Haven't had time to test yet. (http://s-k-tools.com/index.html?m_util.html)
nice find i am trying these apps out now. the lunar orbit needs a little work but its not to bad of a start
the sensor test works best in portrait only because the controls and off by 90 deg and it seems to autorotate less
the gsen app toggle only seems to work once not sure why
cool
they all work.. wish there were more programs that use the gsensor
You don't have to wish, they have released a C++ and managed code SDK to the public. I looked briefly in the Diamond forum and it looks like people are making programs to ulitlize the scrolling like the 8.x opera and perhaps gesture based (IE shaking) profile changes.
I think the diamond apps have some issues with us because they Diamond is usually in portrait while we are usually in landscape.
Managed SDK: http://blog.enterprisemobile.com/2008/07/using-htc-diamonds-sensor-sdk-from-managed-code/
C/C++ SDK: http://scottandmichelle.net/scott/comments.html?entry=784
I tested the managed code and it seems to be working fine. I would like to make a program that auto roates specific programs like GSen but I am not sure how to disable the HTC from auto rotating and still read from the G Sensor
I have Gsen and Lunar Tilt working in AP5
Just want Teeter, that would be amazing
there's another little code snippet here.

I used the level application.
Started in lanscape mode, on a flat surface, face up, then calibrate.
Connected to the kb, and I read the value in the upper right corner....

Strange, I also used the bubble level application as in post 6, but it doesn't tell me the degree. It only tells me if the surface is level.

Could be be a font problem?
I am testing IT with irus revided sogarth ROM
There are some programs which allow users of HTC devices to specify what programs they want their G-Sensor working in. So they can specify that they do not want their titanium home screen to utilze the sensor.
The program will not work on the TG01 because it relies on the HTC G-Sensor driver. Is there a similiar program for the TG01?
Thanks!
I've not found anything that does this yet on the TG01 - the fact that the homescreen rotates is extremely annoying to me - especially as the wallpaper rotates too and then it tiles it - a very ugly effect. Wouldn't be soo bad if the interface rotated but left the wallpaper as it is.
For this reason i've disabled the G-sensor completely but i miss the functionality in other things, such as viewing photos and such.
Does anyone know a good way for the Tg01 to rotate without G-Sensor on-demand? Maybe by mapping a rotate function to the camera key?
Otherwise can the sensor be made less sensitive as 90% of the time when I pull the phone from my pocket it unlocks in landscape mode. Or rather it spends wasted time flicking between orientations so that I can't grab the unlock slider easily.
get a 800x800 wallpaper.....
ive you deactivated the g-sensor you can switch from portait to landscape etc with the vol. up key... just hold the button for 1-2 sec and the screen switch.
Perfect thank you! I either missed that in the manual or it wasn't in there.
after many lockups and problems i decided to turn of the rotate sensor and guess what. My phone now rocks..not a single lockup or problem.. is there any way to change the default rotation of my dell to portrait instead of landscape? also anybody knows if the official update from dell has the same problems?
You can make the home screen set to portrait by default, yes
You must use ADW as your launcher however.
Just set the default orientation to portrait and then you must set ADW to system persistant otherwise both landscape and portrait mode=landscape for some reason. I do the same.
Your lockscreen will still be landscape mode however, unless you still have the older version of Widget Locker.
It's lockscreen view was in portrait. After the latest update however it isnow landscape and you can't change it back. =(
As for the official update having rotation problems, I hadn't experienced many issues with orientation lockups except when I tried using their new Dell Stage Video app which I immediately removed after I found out it locks up the sensor whenever you tried to use it to view a video.
I however hadnt kept the rotation set to auto for very long honestly.
I prefer portrait mode for the home screen. My boot screen aswell is in portrait mode now too since someone was kind enough to post the files on the site the other day.
Portrait mode just feels more natural to me since this is currently my main phone so having it in landscape mode is abit awkward and I didnt like how certain things looked after being resized when rotating orientation.
My friend thanx very much... im using adw as launcher and yesterday i was playing with adw settings for orientation but didnt try the system persistent....of course the phone keypad and all programs remain landscape any ideas for this?
if your on 1.6 still, for the keypad you can download a differnt dialer app.
Dailer Ones pretty good.
If your on 2.2 it should auto rorate tho.
As for the programs themselves, what's not rotating?
Did you by chance turn off "auto-rotate screen" in system>settings>display when you were trying to get the home screen into portrait mode and never re-checked it?
Hi,
So I put Honeysense on my wifi only tablet. And it works quickly, but it leaves something to be desired. I was looking into ICS/Jellybean, bu the pieces missing outweigh the value.
Here is what I need (priority):
BT (low)
Camera/camcorder (medium)
GPS (high)
Pressure Pen (medium/high)
HD acceleration (medium/high)
HW Buttons (low)
I am also having weird issues. My settings for USB is missing from the settings, the browser doesn't open links from mail, and the notification bar doesn't act the same as my previous rom.
Anyone have a suggestion? I don't want to lose the pressure pen by going to GB...I heard that if you use wifi only stock HC rom, GPS comes back. I don't know if it is true. Is there a HC stock rom clean, that has HW buttons & GPS working with minimal glitches? That would be perfect for me.
XDA rocks!

I just went to JB, interesting and great work to get this far but without a kernel to pull from to get the proper hardware drivers, the dev guys cannot get camera and hardware acceleration fully. Also I miss sense - especially the widgets and keyboard, there are alternates but not quite as nice. Combined with YouTube issues and backlight staying on upon poweroff half of the time I just couldn't stick with it. On the upside performance was better, and Graffiti input actually worked on JB.
Now on Leedroid HC 4.3 seems very quick and all features working, from your list I'd suggest you go the same way.
EDIT: Just been through your list with this Rom
BT (low) - Just skyped with Bluetooth headset, perfect
Camera/camcorder (medium) - perfect
GPS (high) - google maps locked on fine
Pressure Pen (medium/high) - perfect, very important to me
HD acceleration (medium/high) - tested on avatar blueray rip and YouTube hd
HW Buttons (low) - yes, I disabled for now on mine, need to figure out a neat way to quickly switch between the two options
Should be all good for you, and he even offers a download to desense it if you prefer - I firmly don't !
This is a really great tablet, and I like it very much.
But one thing is really irritating:
When in portrait mode (for me, the standard mode of operation) the scrolling is not really smooth. One side lags a bit behind the other so that a "wobbly" effect results. This is especially noticeable when scrolling fast, not so much when scrolling slowly. And it is especially noticeable when scrolling larger amounts of text.
The phenomenon doesn't occur in landscape mode.
The tablet has a very strong GPU and CPU, so this doesn't fit into the high-end-ishness of the device, and since the screen doesn't have the very highest resolution, scrolling should not pose such problems!
Does anyone know something about the reasons?
Would it be possible to eliminate the problem with a better graphics driver?
Could it be possible (on a rooted device) to "tell" Android on this device that portrait mode is the standard orientation instead of landscape, so that the wobbling at least occurs in landscape but not in portrait??
