Incredible - pls help ! - Touch Pro, Fuze ROM Development

I`m using an english Rapha but do have a big problem:
The QWERTZ_Patch helps me to get the y as an y and the z as an z but without the german ä ö ü
The XDA_JCEspi2005_German_Input_Kaiser brings the ä ö ü back but it makes the y to an Z and the z for an y
OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH ????

I really searched everywhere and there is no solution - either I have the wrong y and z or I miss the the öüä ....

sorry but you could not have searched everywhere. was discussed in several posts
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2732923&postcount=67
you do not have to install anything for german inputs just change the registry.
works on most roms

Thank you Washi but unfortunately I also read this post and changed it already but still no Y and Z .....
May be my registry is in the meantime poisend and I should clear it or start from scratch ?

So what i did is:
1) HardSPL
2) new german ROM
3) the curtlang is 1031 !
and the result is the same: Y = Z and Z = Y

mmh mmhh i assume you did a soft reset (not with stylus) after the change of the registry?
im using ROMeOS and it works. could be a problem of the rom you installed

I did a soft reset with the stylus - but what is the difference compared to the soft reset with the start button ?

and I`m using ROMesOS too..

Washi can you tell me your steps after flashing step by step ?

diffrence between soft reset with stylus and holding power down (or programs that do soft reset) is that there is a chance that actual data is not stored.
you can loose last sms or calendar entries. its like pressing reset on the computer. no actual data stored.
i dont know if reg settings are saved directly or like sms after some time.
i can't tell you much about the flashing. i flashed the rom, the english version, and did the changes. nothing more. after a reset input was german.

Sorry but ...
I do use an english RAPHA ( qwerty keyboard)
After flashing I do not have any öäü ....after installing the following file: XDA_JCEspi2005_German_Input_Kaiser I`m getting the öüä but loosing the Y as an Y ....
When I change the vlaues of curt lang either from 31 to 33 or vice versa the Y is an Y but than I loose my äöü
It is really hard ...hours after hours I tried ....

Could someone help against money ?

Is there anyone else who is using an english Rapha (qwertz) with german üöä ?

keyboard problem

ok so i just got my mda vario 2 i unlocked it and flashed with a cingular rom, everything works fine. except the keyboard most of the letter show up on the screen as they should. example j=j but when i push y i get z and when i push z i get y then none of the shift symbols work. anyone care to tell me what im doing wrong. i tried the reg editor should i say i tried to but didnt do anything im trying to get english input on my dutch mda
Read here, comments #29 and #30 for the problem on the "shift" symbols:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=277664&p=1019415
Also your Vario II has german keyboard layout (QWERTZ instead of QWERTY), so you need to change this through registry:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_Registry
The suitable value for German Hermes keyboard is 20407 (132103 in decimal).
ok bare with me
i Goto the following registry entry
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Oem\Qwerty]
right i did that
There is a key called 'Layout' and it is in Decimal.
suitable value for German Hermes keyboard is 20407 i entered that then waited about a minute then did a soft reset. but i still get the same problem, and for the shift key problem do i a hard reset and right as it getting ready to install the cingular cab i softreset it,
mot letting shortString_keypad_XML.CAB install, but what about the otherthings what will i be missing and where do i find them
Read a bit down in the reigstry wiki page....
oops putting in the wrong key thanks
Anyone know the values for the Cingular 8525? The US value on the MS site isn't working, and neither is the default values given on the wiki

No Umlauts on hardware-keyboard after upgrade...

Hi,
I upgrade to the latest HTC-WWE-Firmware downloadable on xda-developers. Before I had a german Keyboard (y and z are changed for example).
I applied the last registry hack on http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_Registry to switch back to the german keyboard.
I put in these values:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\keyboard layout\Preload]
"Default"="e0010407"
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\keyboard layout\Preload\1]
"Default"="e0010407"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Oem\Qwerty]
"Layout"="132103" (which means 20407 in Hex)
now the strange part:
With the english keyboard I can get the U-Umlaut for example by pressing u and then the blue dot and the space key. Unfortunately many other keys are changed then (y and z for example).
After applying the registry-hack above I have a german keyboard with z and y at "correct" positions but u + blue dot + Space key does not work anymore for getting Umlauts.
Can anybody help me? This is very nasty.
This is done by modification to \Windows\Sym.txt, get it from previous ROM.
The file I attached is from o2 germany's 1.25.207.1 ROM
still no Umlauts
Hi,
thanks for your quick help.
Unfortunately that seems to be not the problem. I have a correct sym.txt under \windows\sym.txt
If I press u-key + blue dot + space key there appears nothing. Normally there should be at least an á or à if I had the normal english sym.txt but it appears nothing after I changed the registry-keys above. Without the registry-keys changed I get umlauts and all those other special characters with the combination blue dot + space key but then the z and y and many other keys like : / & and so on are in a "wrong" position (from the view of a german ).
Any other ideas?
Perform a Softreset after replacing the sym.txt and the Welt ist wieder in Ordnung.
Still not working...
I replaced the sym.txt did a soft reset and it's still not working. Could it be that it's a issue with the new firmware?
It behaves like Windows Mobile is looking for a different sym.txt when the registry-settings are set to the german layout.
All other keys are working perfectly. It's just the blue dot + spacebar which does not work.
I just flashed the newest htc rom and came across the same problem. is there any new solution to this? the sym.txt I have right now is the correct one.
I upgraded to latest 1.35 and also got a keyboard issue (like "Y" and "Z" are reversed), this even after applying all the registry changes advised in the WIKI.
WIKI does not mention anything about this "sym.txt", thus I did not bother to extract it from my old rom.
Now where will I find the correct "sym.txt" for a "French Switzterland" keyboard?

I also had this problem. The thing is: ONLY change the Qwerty-key ... leave the other two alone (that is: e0010409 for WWE ROMs) ... then everything will work again. You might want localized versions for: autocorrect.txt, dictprob.dat, mssp2_XX.lex, statdict.dat and sym.txt. Extract them from a ROM for your region...
Cheers,

Umlauts are available now!
Thanks a lot! What a simple solution That was definitely something which I should have found out by myself.
Anyway, thank you. The Umlauts are back now.
yeah, awesome. thanks for the help mbirth!
hm, I was just looking for autocorrect.txt, dictprob.dat, mssp2_XX.lex and statdict.dat but couldnt find them anywhere in the windows dir. can someone tell me where they are located?

For me the files are now at those paths:
C:\Windows\autocorrect.txt
C:\Windows\dictprob.dat
C:\Windows\mssp2_ge.lex
C:\Windows\statdict.dat
Also the registry key HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Spell Check\Main_Dict has to contain the path to the mssp2_ge.lex ... so:
Main_Dict = "\windows\mssp2_ge.lex"
I found a German Language pack from Wundi somewhere here ... it contains the files and sets this and the Qwerty-registry-entry.
Maybe you hide the ROM files? I also have the original mssp2_en.lex And I'm almost sure, if I delete the newer dictprob, statdict and autocorrect, I will see the original versions again....
Cheers,
-mARKUS
P.S.: I prefer Total Commander for file management. It has an option "Hide ROM files" ... this has to be turned off to be able to see files in ROM.

mbirth, I followed your advice and reversed the changes made in the two other reg, and only changed the Qwerty' key to French-Switzerland, but without success so far. I know there must be a solution and I look forward to finding it...

[SOLVED] CyanogenMod6-v3.1: No Home/Back/Menu

Hello,
I have a Mini Pro and succesfully installed CyanogenMod6-v3.1.
Then I put qwerty.kl form german.zip via RootExplorer to /system/usr/keylayout.
Since then I do not have these three buttons: menu, home, back, on/off.
They are completly dead.
So I thought to replace qwerty.kl with the original one found in update.zip.
But this does not work either...
Do you have an Idea?
Thank you
Tobias
(I have less than 10 posts, so I have to post here, sorry)
EDIT: I did a re-flash via xrecovery and now it works again.
But how can I change to the german keyboard layout?
Keyboard
Sorry that i write here, but i am not able to write in the right discussion
the german keyboard works so far fine, but the number "3" is not on the right place.
In the german keyboard the three is over the y and not over the z ( by pressing the green quader.
the problem is in this file qwerty.kcm in the last line y3 yy it must changed to z 3 zz i think
The second :
the symbol button just aktivate the numbers over the character and not the symbols or Ä,Ü,Ö.
thanks for your powerful work
I do not see that these problems are related.
It would be better to start a new thread for you...
How can I install the german keyboard layout?
Thank you
go to the 1st page of the cyanogen mod download german keyboard and instal it with recovery tool
the number 3 is above the y and not above the z. This bug will be fixed later
Thank you.
I mark this as solved as the bug with number 3 is already known.
open qwerty.kl with root explorer (with write permissions) and a text editor. You will be able to change evry single key.
bye

i am trying to get my old file as tells here:
you can browse an xrecovery file you already have and find the keyprint.xml , or find the keyprint.xml from an other rom you installed in /system/usr/keyboard-config and copy it to the sd card
with root explorer or any file manager that can explore your root
go to /system/usr/keyboard-config delete the existing keyprint.xml and paste the one on sd card
give the right permisions [x] [x] [ ]
____________________ [x] [ ] [ ]
___________________ [x] [ ] [ ]
(remember to mount write before you do anything on system)
reboot your phone
but i can´t cause it tells can´t find the file in CWM
i have ".img" files as backup done when i was with 2.1 android from SE.... i need to get the original HK file to test the tip... but i have no idea about how to get this now...
PLEASE HEEEEEEEEEEEELP
you sir, are a dedicated problem solver
i've added my stock rom keyprint.xml for you, hope that helps you
unzip that to sdcard and then just copy it over to the right system folder using root eplorer and setting the right permissions
---
As for the screen borders getting no touch input, the only cm7 version that wasn't the case with was minicm7-v14,5 by slade.
all other versions suffer from it
The symbol menu crashing when scrolling is a common froyo/gingerbread issue and can partly be solved with a workaround
if you go to cm settings > user interface and enable overscrolling and set it to bounce, the symbols menu in h/w keyboard won't freeze anymore. Except that doesn't work on the symbols menu in soft keyboard.
goodluck!
Hello Anderson... in my last post i told what i did that helped me to get the most problems solved in the ROM.... i´ll repost it here:
i wiped all options in CWM, so i reinstalled GingerDX mini pro (before i had miniCM7Pro V4)...

can you help me? Maybe you may know how...
oh god, i think i did something really bad!!!!!!!!!!!
more questions... i found nothing explaning it in the forum... can somebody help?
I am with GingerDX v5 ROM
1 - when i plug my phone to PC, so PC Companion asks for "choose between charging, connecting and etc..." but there is not the option in the phone screen to do it... what do i have to do to connect???
2 - i had sony android 2.1 and i did a backup using xRecovery so i could install another ROM ... so... after that i formated my sdcard... lost all... but before it i did a backup. So i have inside this backup a folder called xRecovery > backup > 2011-08-02.02.29.25 >
nandroid.md5
cache.img
data.img
system.img
so, my question is: "is there a way i can recover my old android 2.1 with this files??? Or did i lost all...???
and... how can i open this "files" so i can get HK files from old 2.1 i had????
I knoe i have a lot of questions, but i can help too... i think so...
hello guys... i am really ansioous for your help about my last questions.
But for now let me tell what i got.
I Unzipped GingerDX v5 and unzipped pt-br files.... so, i copied these files to Ginger ROM and deleted the original ones. So, i zipped GingerDX again.
So, i wiped all in CWM and reinstalled GingerDx using my zip.
No, it´s all working as before, but the difference is that i have my HK almost ok. Now i have the right keys unless for the SYM key i can´t do it working yet.
Please, do u guys have any ideas?
And need the "popup bar" that appears in android 2.1 when u use the HK... that bar where we can change language and see is the we r using the numbers, or "big letters (?)" or "small letters (? oh... sorry for the bad english)".
I saw something about it in the GingerDX v6 thread but i didn´t understood nothing cause they talk to people who knows about the programing... it´s not a pass to pass... so, can some good soul help me about all these problems????
PLEASE....
I´ll attach here the file i used to replace HK files in GingerDX v5... maybe it can help if somebody can have a look at it about the SYM key and the popup bar...
hope u give me a help guys , i have nobody to ask for....
Can anybody help?
Hello XDA guys... i know you r busy guys, and really intelligent ones... cause waw.... i´d really like to know about programming as u.... but well, everybody has a talent and the mine is animation in computer graphics... if i can help you anyway about it... let me know... but
I need help!!!!!!!
please... guys, i believe my problems can help not just me, but more people here as i could see... and
Hi, I kinda solved the sym key by accident and i can't really tell how i did it but actually I just selected the keyboard i needed in mini rom manager and then i went into settings/keyboard and I unchecked all boxes.
After that I rebooted and I checked the boxes back and it worked. It may sound weird but the sym key works on my phone. I'm using paul's rom V4+hotfix.
Hope this will help you.
hey again,
to get the symbol button to work go to settings > select language and keyboard. in there deselect all keyboards (htc ime lo and android keyboard) but the one called "default input" that will give u the stock rom input with t9 in portrait and a symbol button in landscape.
also, to prevet the symbols menu from crashing, go to settings > cyanogenmod > interface, there set overscrolling to bounce back (any intensity)
waw... weird...

it´s really weird that issue about sym key you did, Chucklechivers. hehehe
But... i am trying to reproduce that "issue" auehaueh.
And Carpe-Dimi...
I just got a little problem, or two:
1 -i use Ginger DX v005 ROM, i installed Mini Rom Manager v.5.2 from Slade but when i try to change the HK layout it tells me it´s not compatible with my device. So i tried to change the build.prop file as people tell here in XDA so MRM should be compatible... ok, that´s working. But when i try to change the language of my HK nothing happens after reboot... no changes. And a lot of features of MRM can´t work properly
2 - when i access the language and keyboard setting to set default input, it doesn´t exist in my ROM... i just have 2 keyboard in the Ginger DX v005: HTC and Android... no other.
About the overscrolling... can i set elastic overscroll and bright? or does it just works only in simple elastic mode?
so... any ideas, guys??? i am still searching for answers... if i thind any... i´ll put it here...
it might be that MRM can't change keyboard cause of the new keyprint.xml file u've used, but I'm not certain about that. and not all functions of MRM work on all phones and roms either.
í've added an apk for the standard input. using root explorer copy that to system/app (on your phone, remember to set r/w) and give it the permissions rw-r--r-- (read+write for owner, just read for the other two)
reboot and u should be able to select default input from the settings menu.
bounce and glow will work as well
