Need Help Removing Sms Bubble Notification When Txt Is Sent - Mogul, XV6800 ROM Development

hey im kinda new with this and i just need to know how to remove that stupid bubble that pops up and makes a sound whenever a text is sent, if someone could give me step by step instructions it would be greatly appreciated thanks!

PPC Geeks has a nice thread on registry hacks. You need a registry editor like TotalCommander or Resco or one other is out there, but I can't remember. It's on the thread.
Link to thread if you want to learn more:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=5108&highlight=registry+tweak
The info you need from the thread:
5-Disable the pop-up notification that says Message Sent rev.1
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Inbox
create a new key "Settings"
create a new string value "SMSNoSentMsg" and set the value to 1
Hit ok and select "Ok" to save and you are in business.

Thanks firefurby,
I was searching the forum to disable the pop-up notification that says "Message Sent". Your recommendation was exactly what I needed. It worked beautifully.
Thanks, now I have removed the iritating pop-up and alert.

Text Message Sent

I have search all over the fourm and cant find an anwser. Can you disable the text message sent thing after you send a text message, it is really annoying me.
Thanks
Go to the "Sounds and Notifications" section in the Settings section (from the start menu).
If he has verizon, that won't work...
You have to manually edit the registry...get a registry editor like resco registry and navigate to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Inbox
Create a new key called Settings. Inside HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings create a new DWORD value and label it SMSNoSentMsg, and set its value to 1. Exit out of the reg editor, soft reset, and it should be all set.
I do have Verizon. Thanks for all the help you are a savior.

Default softkeys on WM6.1's messaging client

The new messaging client is driving me batty. Two major issues:
(1) Delete is the default left softkey when a message arrives?!? Lost more than a few messages this way. Is there a reg entry to change this?
(2) Dismiss, which should be the default and easiest option, takes using the Menu right softkey, navigating up, and selecting it. And it doesn't mark the message read! That has to be a bug, but can it be fixed?
When i get a Text the left soft key is reply. the right soft key has always been that menu button and seems to be fine...
You're probably right, but in that case I believe Delete is still the default option when Menu is selected, and Dismiss still doesn't mark the message as read.
It driving me crazy too ! Palm messagin was so much better ...
Resurrecting this thread. Need to know if I can change the left soft-key in the messaging app to something other then "Delete"
Please let me know, thanks!
Got the same issue, google and saw this thread. Any update or solution? Driving me crazy too

[Q] SMS Notification issue

Hello
I have upgrade my HD2 from 1.66 to 3.14 - stock european rom (danish). No extra's except Cookies hometab.
I have searched, and searched and found answers, but sadly they do not work here.
Issue: SMS Notification: SMS Sent successfully (translated)
I do not want it. And i cannot seem to turn it off.
I have looked into SMS -> Settings .... and there is no mark in the SMS Delivery Report (again my translation). Tried some registry changes found using google, and still the I get the notification.
So the question is: how to turn it off ? Is it possible ?
tia
mvh / best regards
I had the same issue, and I could disable it.
When you're in the settings tab, use the Menu soft key and click the Plus menu item (it should be the only one), to access the Windows Mobile (i.e. not Sense's) control panel.
From there, you should be able to navigate to (roughly translated, I use the French ROM) sounds and notifications(sounds and alerts ?), then navigate to the second tab. There is a drop down list where you can select the "SMS sent" notification, and then, uncheck all the boxes to stop notifications.
When this is done, just press OK at the top left corner of the screen to save the changes, and return to the manila (sense) UI.
I hope this solves your problem.

Hi and thank you.
I tried it, but no effect.
It is not a big issue - just a small annoying one
so I can live with it.

Guys from HTC will probably never make SMS working perfectly on HD2. Fixing one thing, break another. These annoying notifications happen because of a missing registry entry. Just add it manually:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Jataayu\Messaging]
"DisableSMSSuccess"=dword:00000001
Worked for me.

And for me as well. Thank you.
Perhaps something for Tips & Tricks ?
If you don´t want to mess with the registry there is a cab file that does it for you.
http://www.4shared.com/file/9eCnZJR4/SMS_zend_popup_uitschakelen.html
It´s in dutch but it works with any language.
I installed the cab to disable the "message sent" notification, but since then the sms conversation mode has stopped working. When I receive a message I can see it on the messages screen but when I tap it the screen opens with the top half of the screen blank, where the sender's message should be displayed. The bottom half of the screen shows the reply section with "Tap to add text".
Uninstalled the cab and soft reset but cannot get back the conversation mode. I seem to remember someone posting about a similiar issue with an earlier rom, but despite searching I can't find it.
Thanks in advance if anyone can help.
Edit: deleted all my messages and now conversation mode seems to be working again
Fix worked
This has really been bugging me since upgrading too..reg fix suggested works a treat with no ill side effects, thanks!
i created the registry key and it worked.
Thanks a lot!

i dont want to use the cab
i added as you said the dword value but it didnt work.maybe the DisableSMSSucess should be DisableSMSSuccess?
change ur rom...
i added the string manually and all ok
In some cases you need to set following value, too:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings]
"SMSNoSentMSG"=dword:00000001
Hi. Its a common problem. I called HTC Support and they said that is an error in this ROM upgrade. They still dont know if an upgrade will come to fix the proglem. It probably will. I had the same problem so I "Downgraded" the ROM to 1.66

SMS quick text

is there a way to edit the quick text list? need to change one to "Driving, call me if you can." legal to text and drive in my state. and if it requires a reg editor can you suggest a good free one.
For quick text, speak to your phone would be much easier then.
Touch the search button / touch the microphone symbol / speak:
"Send text to (phone number or name in contact list), pause, subject, pause, Driving, call me if you can.. Voice command will took a moment to process and asking you to confirm by displaying the SMS field, say yes (or) send
Just like that

Try this:
messages>pick a message>menu button>quick text>menu button>edit
That should do.
Hope it helps.

Any way to STOP the keyboard popping up when i go to read a NEW sms

As the title says.
Scenario: A text message comes in, I pull down the menu and hit the name of the sender, and it takes me into the default messaging app to read my text. But as well as doing this, it automatically opens my keyboard ready to type a reply.
Have I missed something here??? I'm using Perfect Keyboard Pro, and wish to continue to do so.
It only does this on a new message, if I open a read message the keyboard wont open unless i press the reply button.
I hope its just a wee setting i've stoopidly missed, but any help is appreciated
AFAIK, this is the standard behaviour. When you receive a new sms, and go to read it, the keyboard pops out (to type the reply). When you go to see received sms, the keyboard pops out only if you tap on the text box at the bottom.
This for any keyboard you'd use.
Damn... wish there was a way to turn that off. .. och well...
Sent from my GT-I9100
i dont have this behaviour using handcent
yeah i think it must me stock messaging specific....
