Why nobody answers ????????????????????????
I want it, because most of my favorite ringtones are in this format.
I can not find the problem, some ROMs like My Diamond from Varanus Vincent, and lots of others play .aac files in WMP and we can use it as ringtone, but in new roms like pro 20759 from legedug and some others it is impossible to have .aac files played in WMP.
Anyone could help me to know how can have .aac on my mobile....
Please, Professional people let me know how can I do it?
I dont know why nobody helps me???????
At least let me know if it is only my problem.......

You would think for as many people that use the windows ce operating system that someone would actually take the time to sit down and make a simple program to allow us to play mp3's when the phone rings.. ? any ideas?
Nah, someone needs to make something like PhonExt which can just execute anything as a distinctive (or global) ring.
mp3? try wma
why do you want to use mp3 when you can use wma?
it takes a bit less size than mp3 with the same sound quality, and PPC2003 plays wma without any additional software.
Hmmm I know that it can play WMAs, but the bad message is that it copies the WMAs to /Windows/Rings/ ... I'd like it plays the WMAs directly from memory card... And another bad message is that for SMS you can use only WAVs (stored in /Windows/)...

your 1: solution could be my apps MY|PHONE|PROFILE

I know it might sound a bit stupid, but I would really love to find a way to play WMA rings on PPC 2002. I have so nice WAVs, but they are so big for such a little device ... all I can do is creating 10 secs WAV of MIDI files, but it's too short ... any ideas ?
try lowing the samplerate and or the bit resolution of the wav
it would lower it's size a great deal
yes - and you can also convert it to mono
Thanks guys for all advices , but I already use 11K mono for sampling and still get ~200K for 10 secs of WAV :? ... I know I should go for PPC2003, but my XDA is very stable and fast and I hate to mess up its ROM ... in addition to that I may void the 5 yrs warranty ... yes you heard it right ... FIVE! ...
Hm... That's something strange with the WAV conversion... So wait for a stable version of WM2003
wuffi,
I 'm using Midi2Wav Recorder V 3.0 from RINASoft ... if you have/know a better tool that can give smaller wav output, I would appreciate it.
btw, I know that current versions of WM2003 is almost stable, but I have to think about the GPRS "always connected" concept ... it has its cons :!:
Can WM2003 make mp3 ringtone???
i known 2003SE is ok when i put the mp3 file into /windows/ring.....
But WM2003 cant!!!!
wma....
i dont think u can use it...in my case i upgrade my photo contact to 1.20 and use mp3's and assign each single contact... anyway u can use wma instead...
thanks for reply
but wma need large amount of memory...
Do a search...this has been covered SOOO many times.
I wanted to use MP3 songs as ringtone for XDAII. Can someone tell me where is the patch for it ? Please help, sos. [email protected]
fast way is to make the mp3 into a wma
ms only normaly make ppl use wma as ring
cdex is free and let you convert
I dont want to convert MP3 to WMA
Dear Rudegar,
Thanks for your reply. I knew your suggestion, but that's not what im looking for. There must be a patch that i can use for select MP3 files as ring directly without conversion, if XDA II mini can use MP3 files as ringtone by selection, then someone out there must have known how to patch it. Please help !!!
Thank you.

or that maybe wm2005 for himalaya have it included
hope it works out for you
i have searched the forums and i cant really figure this one out. Basically the media player of my imate refuses to play .mpg or .avi. When i click on the video file it tells me to open the program associated with this file first, when i use windows media player and update the library it fails to locate the file. I have tried playing files from both the storage card and the internal memory but have had no success. Im using the default windows media player in a CID locked g4.
If i am missing something completely obvious or i havent given enough info then i apologise in advance for my ignorance but i hope someone can assist me with my problem.
thanks
This should be a codec problem.
Media player isn't shipped with the necessary codec to handle MPEG (I may be wrong...) and what codec is your avi encoded with.
You'd better try with another player like TCPMP for example as it supports many formats.
Also, Windows Media Player is able to trancode audio and video so it suits your device.
BTW, this isn't a G4 specific issue.
Next time, ask your question in this thread : you will get more feedback.
ok thankyou for highlighting my faults, and thankyou for your prompt response i will try your advice. Hopefully this will solve my problem. Next time i will post in the appropriate forum.
Missing Codecs
Hi bwesty,
I had the same issue with my I mate K-JAM not playing AVI's, download TCMP & AAC audio codec (search this forum) will fix your problem, unfortunately I haven't tried MPG's yet....

Unless someone suggests otherwise, I am going to install milesmowbray's TCPMP from http://http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=380387.
This is a cab file, so it will install software, yes? Once it is installed, do I need to do anything to set it up?
I have skunkworks flash video bundle. Any suggestions for something better? Is there anything I have to do to set this up as well?
Thanks!
Is this only for youtube? If so, search for youtubeplay. Much better.
Instead of TCPMP?
Yea if you only want to watch Youtube videos then yes Youtubeplay is faster/easier. If you want to watch more than youtube than tcpmp is a better option. I also recomend Youtubeplay and guess what its made by milesmowbray (great developer).
Now that is a cool app. Any need for TCMP and/or a flash bundle?
with flash video bundle you can save vids to your phone, i have not seen this with youtubeplay
You can save with youtubeplay
sweet, guess i should dig deeper b4 posting, sry my bad
